Amazing service and amazing food. Allen and Victoria were especially friendly and had a great conversation with my wife and I regarding the many business that have came and went along that 8th Street corridor over the years. The food: we shared the shrimp and grits (the star of show) very hearty and an amazing texture with the perfect mix of cheese. The classic French toast with butter and maple syrup did not disappoint, paired with a side of bacon. We will be back for sure. Oh and the drinks were mixed to perfection by Allen as well. Drop in and give them a shot.
This was a hard one to rate because the food and drinks were great but the service was a mess. We popped in around 2:20, they close at 4 but we wanted to get a sandwich and some drinks beforehand. When ordering I asked if they could sub vodka for tequila in this drink on the specials menu, because I don't drink tequila, and the waiter says "since it's a special so I don't think so" without asking the bar. I pivoted with my drink, all good. Around 3 our waiter let us know he forgot to put our order in. No biggie! I used to wait tables it happens. Then around 3:20 our food isn't out yet and another server drops off our check thinking we are waiting to leave. He did later apologize and he was not our waiter, so I don't wanna put him down because he was actually the sweetest ever!!! We did want a second cocktail but at that point, we just paid while we waited for our food. The burger was so pricey for no side and there's better burgers in DC so I'd not recommend this spot overall given the experience.
I've been ordering from here since they've been a ghost kitchen! I fell in love with their Bacon Me Crazy sandwich and their potatoes with old bay aioli. Always cooked to perfection and seasoned well. I love a good brunch but sometimes it doesn't travel well when it's delivered and whether in store or delivery the quality remains the same. I always recommend this place and everyone is always pleased with their choice.

The side salad was generous and genuinely tasty, not an afterthought. The burger was a standout. Excellent-quality meat, beautifully seasoned, cooked just right. The fries were equally crave-worthy. The tea service felt delightfully bougie in the best way and added a special touch to the meal. Service was bright, friendly, and gracious throughout. Ambiance? Bustling like a diner. One small note: I wished some of the dishes had arrived a bit closer together. By the time the fries came out, they were essentially dessert. That said, no real complaints, because they were still perfect. I'm already looking forward to returning.
I visited I Egg You a couple of months ago with a friend for breakfast and just came across the photos on my phone. I had the DL Egg Drop and it completely blew me away. It was packed with flavor, fresh, and honestly one of the best egg sandwiches I have had in a long time. I could not even finish it, but they packaged it so well that it was easy to take the rest to go. My friend ordered the Original Egg Drop and kept saying mine looked fancier, which it did. Both sandwiches were great though and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and fast, and the space had a relaxed vibe that made the visit even better. I would definitely go back and try more from the menu.
My friends and I regularly stop by I Egg You because of the convenient in location near Eastern Market. It's usually pretty tough to find a spot for brunch over the weekends, so we usually come in small groups or groups of 2. The food can be a bit heavy, but flavored well. I typically get the Potatoes since it's one of the few gluten-free ish options but my friends often get the platter. It's a great casual brunch spot, and service is medium-paced, with food coming out about 15-20 mins after ordering.
Didn't know a little egg spot could deliver so much flavor! Somewhat loaded taters: I was expecting tots but the little potatoes were still very good, the sauce was insanely good, the bacon was soft strips and not too salty or greasy rather than cheap crunchy bits that I'm used to, and the candied jalapeños were a tasty add to the whole flavor profile! DL's egg drop: tender bulgogi that wasn't stringy at all with another delicious sauce. Bread was nice and fluffy. I only wished that they had sauce more evenly distributed so that the bottom half of the sandwich had some too Hatch Green Chili: I don't gravitate towards green chili, yet this was my favorite!! There was so much gooey cheese and the sauce was tangy and delicious, the flavors melded together in a plate of tender, mushy goodness. Bean curd, done that: really mild in flavor compared to the other dishes, would pass on this. Vietnamese egg coffee: not a fan, expected it to be iced but came out hot, egg topping was flat and gooey rather than fluffy, coffee was weak and milky, which is not very "Vietnamese". Interior was small and clean, server was kind and had a positive attitude.
I had a pleasant experience at I Egg You in Washington, DC. We ordered DL's egg drop sandwiches, and they were the highlight of the visit. The eggs were cooked perfectly--light, fluffy, and well seasoned--and the milk bread was nicely toasted with a rich, buttery finish that brought everything together. We also tried the Captain Crunch French toast. It was definitely delicious and creative, but for my personal taste it leaned a bit too sweet. Overall, the food was enjoyable and the experience was solid. I'd rate it a 7 out of 10 worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of egg-forward breakfast sandwiches.
this was one of the best meals I had in DC. Everything was amazing and the service was QUICK. We told the waiter we had to be at our museum reservation in 45 minutes and he made sure everything came out in a timely fashion. I loved the coffees and the DL Egg Drop was SO SO GOOD. My friend and I shared that + potatoes and it filled us up. I will be back agin next time I'm in DC:)
I Egg You doesn't do reservations, so you'll have to stop by and put down your name and info to be put on the waitlist if all the tables are full. The three of us were told an estimated 40 minute wait time this past Sunday afternoon, but a table opened up after 25! The interior is simple but they have some interesting art going on like Chef Egghead and Egghead guests. Our server was attentive and our food came out quickly after we ordered. Overall, we were in and out of the restaurant in under 45 minutes. PORK, IT'S WHAT'S FOR BREAKFAST - 10 This looks like a regular sandwich between two pieces of square-shaped toast, but it's anything but that. The milk bread was generously toasted with butter. Each sandwich is stuffed with minced pork sausage, fontina cheese, and a fried egg. Each bite was heavy, and I was done after half a sandwich. I enjoyed it, but it was too much for me. Fortunately, one of my friends ate the other half of my sandwich. TATERS: BASIC POTATOES - 9 +2.50 PUT AN EGG ON IT The egg gives the potatoes an extra jammy and creamy texture. The potatoes were nicely fried and smothered with their Old Bay aioli sauce and fresh parsley. It was good, savory and flavorful. These taters are less heavy compared to their other loaded options, but it was still pretty dense. This was shared and enjoyed among the three of us. Fair warning, the food here is heavy and dense. While it was delicious and flavorful, I personally can't eat too much of it at once. I'm glad I tried it, but unfortunately it wasn't for me! The pricing is fair for DC, and I would recommend stopping by I Egg You at least once!
Came with high expectations since who doesn't love an egg forward brunch place with hints of Korean flavors but left underwhelmed. I Egg You is on bustling 8 st in Capitol Hill and has small signage but is pretty easy to find, especially when there's a line of folks waiting to get inside. Managed to get a seat at the bar with a minimal wait despite the line. They had cute egg themed decor inside and a fully stocked bar with great british baking show playing on the tv - vibe was on point. Bartender was really nice and made sure I was taken care of even though he looked pretty busy. Ordered the umami egg, original egg sandwich, oj, and brûléed grapefruit. -I was disappointed they had run out of the custard egg so got the umami, it was good but was surprised jt was cold. Would have tasted much better if it were served warm or at least room temperature imo -Original egg sandwich was ok but not sure if it was worth going out of the way for. Should have gotten the egg drop but felt kinda heavy for me at that moment, seems like others enjoyed it though -brûléed grapefruit was most regrettable. I had expected a crackly shell on top but was not the case and the granola was soggy. Do not recommend Overall experience was ok. Wouldn't be a strong recommendation from me but maybe it was an off day since others seem to have enjoyed their meal. Belated review from late 2024
I was so so excited to try this and came away a little lackluster, I've been following their opening, I'm a huge fan of Danny Lee so was glad to see a breakfast/brunch spot pop up. In true DC fashion, they boast a CRAZY drink and food menu, every inch of that menu is filled to the brim and it's a little overwhelming. We went during the cherry blossom season so there was SO much pollen and we did opt to sit outside. I will say, still thinking about the restrooms of that place grosses me out. It's so filthy. It was really hard to enjoy the space when the bathrooms are that bad. Our server was lovely, a little slow after we got our service but super friendly. We actually ordered the most decent amount of food, I tend to over order, the menu is HEAVY so be prepared but I did love their dishes. I do like that they carry Colombe but I was way too caffeinated to drink a coffee. I do think their egg and caviar is genius and their potatoes are perfect, but I can't get over the feeling it's not very clean.
A solid breakfast/brunch spot with every egg preparation you'd ever want! Came at 10:30am on a beautiful weekend and was able to walk in for a table of 2. Our waiter greeted us soon after and handed us their huge menu!! They have a large breakfast menu and a smaller lunch section. They also have a large variety of beverages. To start, I got the Vietnamese egg coffee. I knew it would be hit or miss and this was a hard miss. The egg foam wasn't as rich or thick as it should be and the coffee wasn't the bold Vietnamese coffee that should accompany it. Nonetheless, it was a tasty coffee, just don't expect an egg coffee!! There were a large variety of dishes, egg and non-related. I ended up getting the cereal French toast, scotch egg, and lox toast. Everything was lovely and tasted as expected. The French toast was sweet enough, I didn't use any of the syrup. Scotch egg was nice and meaty with a soft yolk--perfection! The lox toast had great flavor, BUT the bread tasted a tad stale. I would've preferred a more substantial bread for the toast vs white bread. The prices are definitely on the more expensive side, but everything tastes as described and service was lovely. The space is bright and is a great location to have a friends breakfast or a date!

I came here on a visit into the city before I went to study at LoC. It's located in Barrack's Row and the entrance is v unassuming, I walked by twice before I noticed it; definitely have your maps app open and ready. Street parking nearby you will need to pay for but you have the option of parking a block or two inward toward the houses and walking it over for free. I wasn't super hungry for breakfast so I stuck with the Original Egg (sandwich) + a black English breakfast tea. The Original egg 3/5, it was filling though a bit greasy and oily (perhaps from the cheese?). The bread was nicely toasted and just the right type of crunchy toast for a breakfast sandwich. It was $7 which like,, you simply cannot complain about price wise. The black tea was loose leaf! and served in a strainer that was slightly broken so this caused it to spill little tea pieces into my tea cup (not the end of the world for me). They served it with a cute mug that dispensed honey at its bottom but $6 for plain tea when the breakfast sandwich was $7 is certain a choice. I would come back to try their bulgogi sandwich and maybe this would sway my mind for the business to be rated higher ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The food came out very quickly and service was polite. Love, love, loved this place! First of all, it is super cute, decor and music were on point! Our waiter was so great and gave awesome recommendations. We ended up with the Bacpn egg sandwich, the most delicious potatoes I have ever eaten, blueberry parfait and coffee cake with pistachio honey butter. Everything was delicious and I couldn't believe the prices...such a great value. It's small, so there could be a wait, but totally worth it. read more
I visited today for brunch around 11:30 AM and had no wait time. I did notice after 12:00 PM it was a bit busier so would recommend coming earlier for no wait. Our waitress was incredibly kind and welcoming. For food: We ordered two DLs Egg drop sandwiches and WOW, my expectations were more than met. I would rate the sandwich a solid 10/10! I ordered mine without cheese and my partner kept cheese on his. We both really enjoyed it and highly recommend this. My partner also ordered the affogato and said it was perfect for a summer heat wave day. I will definitely be back here and highly recommend to others! The vibe was great, folks seemed happy to work there and food was outstanding. What more can you ask for? read more

I Egg You was recommended from a D.C. local while I was on my 26th birthday world tour. After downloading the smart trip app, catching the metro, making my way down the blue line, & a few blocks of a walk there was I Egg You. The moment I stepped into their establishment, customer service "Rayne Supreme!" I found a seating at the bar despite the Sunday Funday attraction. My server (The Egg B) took phenomenal care of my epicurean. I didn't futz a single second to order a much needed apéritif (Paloma) while I lucubrate the menu. My indecisiveness went into overdrive so I ordered a DL's Egg Drop, Milk Bread French Toast & Basic Potatoes. In addition of two more cocktails (Pimm's Cup & Arette Blanco Tequila) chosen by the bartender to accommodate my food selections. I truthfully can't give a descriptive review about my cocktails as this encounter was back in August of 2024. But I did specify no mixed liquor (brown/clear) since I was indulging into dissimilar food palettes. He honored my precatory! The DL's Egg Drop is inimitable! Image two sliced, lightly toasted, milk bread in between a Korean BBQ beef (Bulgogi) & fontina egg scrambled with a gooey spicy-sweet sauce. The classic Milk Bread French Toast shall never be taken off the menu! It had to be the thickest of size, custard filling with a glazed whip butter I have ever relished. How dare I Egg You name their potatoes basic because nothing about them were?! I'm assuming the potatoes were smashed before fried. A similarity of making a smash burger! I Egg You, please continue the basic potatoes recipe served with extra old bay aioli sauce. The length of months it took to find time to write this review, didn't deter my food anamnesis. $5.50 for a drip coffee ? that isn't a pour over. And it tastes like instant coffee. I honestly don't understand how they think they can get away with this, when Call Your Mother, Ted's, Souk, and all the other nearby shops charge less and actually provide high quality coffee. You can't be a breakfast location and deliver bad coffee. You just can't. Ambiance and Service seemed fine, but honestly I'm too disappointed to care. read more

Great food but pricy! I had the bulgogi egg scramble dish and my friend had the tofu dish which we both enjoyed. The bulgogi scramble was lacking in the aoli so would recommend a side of the aoli to dip for every bit but the egg scramble was fluffy and rich. Not sure if it should be a 17 dollar dish for what is just a sandwich but it did taste great! The tofu was light and a lovely texture as well. I've had the vietnamese egg coffee before and that's something I might pass on despite the virality, nothing to write home about. Service was good, Tyler was lovely and we appreciated his recommendation of adding candied jalapeños to the tofu dish! Really delicious brunch spot! What surprised me was how big the portions were - you can easily share one sandwich between 2 people. We got the hatch green chili sandwich and the DL egg drop - both were delicious tho my preference was the DL. Can't go wrong with a bulgogi egg sando. Don't forget to ask for extra gochujang aioli on the side. Service is a touch slow so have your order ready! We sat outside, perfect place to people watch and enjoy our meal. This place is ..... eggcellent (bad joke). Came here for breakfast with some friends and got to try a variety of their egg based items. Started with the Dalgona coffee which was creamy and sweet and a great wake-me-up. DL's egg drop had a nice spice but wasn't brutally spicy (I like spice but I know it's not everyone's thing). It's served on a fluffy milk bread for a nice subtly sweet flavor. The hatch chile smothered sandwich was flavorful. It seems like a lot but the flavors work very well together. The scotch eggs weee good and so was the custard-it's small though so def a good light snack. It can get busy so be prepared for a bit of a wait but that's fine because this place is worth it. read more
It was ok. Overhyped in my opinion. The coffee was good but sweeter than a traditional vietnamese coffee, which I wasn't a huge fan of, but that's personal taste. The sandwich itself came out semi-cold, which really was a downer for me. I've had egg drop sandwiches in Korea which this is a spinoff of, so the sunny side up egg was a surprise for me (not negative or positive just different). I think the best of the day was actually the somewhat loaded potatoes. It was really flavorful- you can choose to top it with sausage or bacon (I kinda wish they had a half half option because I think it would've been even better like that). We chose sausage, which was really good. The sauce on top is slightly sweet which was a nice contrast to all the other salty elements in the dish. Service wise, our waitress came maybe twice during our meal, and it took a while for us to get anything we requested. I think they're a bit overwhelmed with the number of visitors so it wasn't a big deal but definitely not somewhere you can pop in and leave right away, forewarning. I Egg You is not just a standout breakfast spot in Eastern Market, but for the the whole city. So many ways to eat your eggs here! If you like savory breakfast, this also your place. I enjoyed the Bean Curd, Done That and really loved the mix of flavors - chili crisps, avocado, tofu, and of course, egg. It doesn't look big, but it's filling with the fluffy milk bread on the bottom. I also got the Vietnamese Egg Coffee, a nice addition to the meal and it satisfied my desire for something sweet with the cream on top. At around 10 o'clock Sunday morning, the restaurant was bustling. My dining companion and I actually had to wait a bit outside before we could get a table. As we were finishing up our food, the dining area had more seats freed up. This was closer to noon, which kind of puzzled us. I guess we hit the earlier brunch crowd? Food- I ordered the dish with pork, egg, milk bread with mushrooms, cream and cojita cheese. WOW! The seasonings were on point and everything was cooked perfect. I also had an Irish coffee (some Jameson) which complimented my pumpkin bread, which was like a muffin type with a side of butter of choice (I chose a banana butter). My server was Joey and he was great! With service, he kept my water filled, table clean and was positive and professional, recommending certain dishes. Updating review now that they have a full restaurant! Great space to dine in, also a patio with a couple tables. The menu has a ton now to offer, this is the best breakfast in dc! Sandwiches, lunch options, sides, pastries, desserts, coffee and even cocktails, it's got something for everyone. Service is quick and friendly, food is amazing. Bar is first come first serve. They make my favorite breakfast sandwiches in dc - anything on that super fluffy milk bread is amazing, and the candied jalapeno and old bay aioli topping is amazing. Unexpected good food here! I egg you is a cute little brunch spot serving up big flavor. They have plenty of meat options which is plus for me since I don't eat pork and the food is simply delicious. My daughter and I stopped in for brunch yesterday and man was it crowded! We had to wait about 30 mins for a table but the time went by quickly. I first want to say that the bartender is amazing, he made me tequila sunrises with fresh squeezed orange juice and I was in heaven. I had two lol. My daughter got the stuffed French toast and crushed it. Lolol so I assume it was good because she didn't leave anything on her plate. The breakfast potatoes are so tasty with the old bay sauce they use, a must try. I got the OG bacon sandwich and asked for fried eggs and I swear they basically gave me a bacon sandwich lol. I'm all for bacon but this was kinda overkill lol. I'll definitely go back to try other menu items but I wasn't too impressed with my sandwich. The place itself is clean and the staff is very friendly. It's kinda of small so be prepared to wait outside for your table and the parking in the area isn't the greatest. I Egg You started as Pop-up at this particular CHIKO location. We have been very excited to try many things from the menu, so our server made sure we get all our items about the same time! (Except the Custard Egg, that I guess takes a little bit longer to cook). Went on Saturday morning (about 10AM) surprisingly not so crowded and got seated right away! The place looks clean and gives the vibes of a fancier restaurant with the prices being not so high! Definitely can see it winning a Bib Gourmand if they keep like this! We split The Original Egg Sandwich ($7)although a great tip: add the Candied Jalapeños ($1) and Old Bay Aioli ($0.75) for more juiciness! The Milk Bread was amazing! The Puffin ($7) is one of the greatest muffins I had, it's so fluffy and custardy soft, not your typical crumbly/dry muffin! I think our least favorite thing from what we ordered, was the Custard Egg ($12). I think the caviar on top do not really enhances the flavors, is kind of bland and way too briny, maybe some chili crisp oil would make it better! A little too expensive for it? I would not recommend this if you dislike "slimy things". We tried the Vietnamese Egg Coffee ($8) interesting? But I think they forgot to add the milk foam on top, or at least from their IG videos, ours did not look quite the same. Overall I'm really happy! They will see me coming more often for the egg sandos for sure! read more
Scotch eggs is always my target when looking for restaurants. D.C. doesn't have many that make it...until now! Once a pop-up in nearby Chiko is I Egg You, an all-day cafe open every day at 8 a.m. with a large menu of breakfast sandwiches, toast service, coffee, tater tots, and much more. First in line on opening day, I grabbed a seat at the bar. Paintings of "egg people" decorate the walls and small tables in one dining room and a small outdoor patio seat 60 people. For breakfast, I ordered the "Pork, It's What's For Breakfast," a Scotch egg, and a latte. Everything was excellent and full of flavor. They brew La Colombe and do it well. Next time, I'll order the Vietnamese egg coffee. Service was excellent. I'll definitely be back! read more
Highly recommend this place. First time visiting on vacation. Located in a cute walkable location with a lot of different restaurants, bars and stores. We went during the week for brunch. No wait time. Service was prompt and friendly. Good size inside and decor is the best. Just look at the egg person lol. This is such a great addition to the DC food scene! I love this spot for a quick breakfast or light lunch. That's my only complaint, the portions are a bit light for me, but I have a healthy appetite so that could be a factor. I usually get the original egg sandwich which I love because of the bread and the runny egg in the middle. I normally don't like those types of eggs but this sandwich has converted me! My favorite thing from here is probably the deviled egg sandwich, it's fire!! It's literally a deviled egg on bread, very simple but also super tasty. Although I never dine in, the interior is real cute and modern. The staff are always friendly, this will continue to be a go to place for me. read more

My friends and I arrived here for breakfast before getting on the train. We sat immediately since we called in advance for a table. Quaint and charming breakfast eatery, can get a little crowded at times. Since we already knew what we wanted, we ordered everything at once. I ordered a peach bellini and the smoked salmon toast. Surprisingly, our food came out before the drinks. My friends ordered coffee and I was the only one with an alcoholic drink. And the drink did come, it was okay. Nothing fancy. A friend and I visited around 1130 am on a Saturday. My friend arrived about 10 min before me and was able to seated almost immediately at a table for 2. We didn't make a reservation and I don't know if take reservations at all. It's a warm space with a good amount of seating but our two-top table was a bit close to the others. There was one server who took our order and gave the check but there were at least 2 or 3 other servers that came to check in on us or clear the table. The service was warm and attentive but not overbearing. We ordered one sandwich each and split the basic potatoes. The milk bread that is used for the sandwiches tastes similarly to sourdough, but with less of a hard crust. It was light, buttery and just crispy enough. I loved the fontina and bechamel type of sauce on the original egg sandwich. The basic potatoes were steaming hot and well cooked. I really enjoyed the tangy and creamy aioli but the potatoes needed a little salt and would've benefit from a crisp skin. I'm glad the server recommended just one order. One order of the basic potatoes is plenty to share. My friend cleared his bacon sandwich so I imagine he liked his too! I love that they finally got a spot fully focused on "I Egg You"... this spot is still one of my favs in DC for a weekend breakfast. Customer Service ALWAYS A1, super friendly with a SMILE & always welcoming. I love their whole setup and egg art and references, so freaking cute. Food beyond AMAZING, there's something about that crispy yet soft and flaky buttery bread that hits my taste buds every time. Their signature seasoning and brown butter egg *chefs kiss*. Plus they never skimp on the avocado which I love and it's always perfectly sliced. I wished they brought back the Nutella Banana bread, such a sweet yet delicious and crunchy treat. so glad i finally got to mark this place off my list but best believe i will be back! the vibe x the staff x the food x the decor is all so cute && perfect for its concept! i for sure say if you ever need a hangover place, look no further! from bloody marys w added shot styles on the side to custom espresso martinis to their n/a hydrating menu with gatorade, liquid iv, pedialyte and coffee/juices - you cant go wrong! everyone was super friendly and it stayed packed the entire time! i keep telling all my friends && about personally cant wait to visit again! read more

First off, I egg you too!!!!! This place! Where has it been all my breakfast loving life?!!!! Okay, okay let me give my takeout review. I ordered through Ubereats and the wait time wasn't too bad, roughly under 30 minutes. Nonetheless, when the food arrived, it was carefully packaged and still hot. Food: for the price, the portion size was more than enough and I was thoroughly satisfied. I ordered the BLT sandwich and the basic potatoes and both were DELICIOUS! The BLT sandwich was topped with candied jalapeños and old bay aioli. HONEY!!!!! I was rolling in bacon and the added taste of the candied jalapeños, aioli, lettuce and tomatoes were paired just right. This was by far the best sandwich I've had in a long time. It was placed on slices of thick cut white bread which was perfectly toasted, soft and fresh. My tummy is still clapping for what is the BEST BLT around! The basic potatoes were delicious as well and had a nice balance of seasoning. It was paired with a side of aioli to dip the potatoes and honey, I am still on cloud 9. Total was $21 for both items but keep in mind that Ubereats likes to add on fees but I did noticed that the price of the items were not that different from in-store prices.
