This place was a great find on a Sunday night! The owner is so warm, friendly and accommodating. We felt right at home! It was perfect! I genuinely appreciated Rosa's service today. My brother and I both wanted to eat KBBQ after a long day of work. We ordered the 3P. The amount of meat we received was well worth the price! We had brisket, pork belly, and galbi. They put thought into how much food to provide for the price given. Rosa stopped by often to cook for us and changed our grill before we even asked. This place has been around for years. I've been coming here since my teens! Ambiance is mom and pop. I've recently moved back home for school, and I'm glad I have access to KBBQ just minutes away. There was an older lady trying to serve the sides, and one guy seating, taking orders, ringing up, and trying to serve as well... as he was doing all of those things, us and other tables needed refills, napkins, to order other things...it's was just a mess. Home style Korean soup and dishes! Plus Korean BBQ with a burner on each (small) table which is great when there's just two of you. No need to wait to eat KBBQ with a large group, and because it's not AYCE they use higher quality meats than buffet style places. It's a family owned and run business that's been around for decades! Super friendly staff and the mom was cooking when we visited recently which was a huge plus for delicious authentic food. Portion sizes were excellent and they provided a lot of banchan side dishes including ones you don't always get at most Korean spots, yay. We ordered a bimbimbap and beef soup (galbi tang) and the soup really made me feel like I was eating homemade healthy comfort food. It had clear noodles and daikon and delicious meat on the bone. They're open late which is awesome. Just be aware that the last call is more than an hour before closing. I'm not too picky when it comes to Korean BBQ, but I do prefer quality over quantity so I loved that Hwang's was no longer AYCE because the quality definitely showed in the meat selections we ordered. We ordered the Combo E which consisted of 5 meats of our choice (ok to double up) and either a soju or 5 sodas. We chose 2 brisket, 1 pork belly, 1 spicy bulgogi, and 1galbi. This was enough to feed our group of 7 adults and get us full, so you know Hwang's is not skimping on their portions. Also, 10/10 for service - the owner was SO sweet and personable. They have since changed the hours they close earlier and for some reason, I believe that they sold the restaurant and new people Own the restaurant because the food does not taste the same. When friends invited me to this place, I immediately thought it would suck cause I inky go to AYCE places. After eating here, I can honestly say this place is the opposite of suck! We got combo D, with the galbi, bulgogi, brisket and pork belly. I normally only get brisket and bulgogi at AYCE places, so I ate those and tried the galbi. The meats are definitely premium cause I ate so much and I am really picky. The galbi was boneless so it just looked like a stop streak and I even was able to eat that! Food was great, we ordered two meats and a soup to share. The meat and all side dishes came out and I was so overwhelmed I had to ask if the kitchen could prepare the soup for take away. The lady came over to help us cook our bbq meats after which was nice as we were hungry and wanted to eat and leave so they could get on with their closing. We asked if we could take everything we couldn't eat away and they packed it for us nicely. There were a few others in the restaurant but they were finishing up. The meat options are good especially for someone like me who only orders brisket. The sides were good and the service was good as well. They checked up on us and made sure we didn't need anything. They also have a call button on the wall next to each table so that you can call them if you need anything. They close at 12am; but last time I went(~10pm), an HOUR BEFORE closing, the waiter really rushed my friend and I. He pretty much asked us to leave way before closing time. It was such an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. It was hard to fully enjoy the food and soju we ordered.
