Food was good. The portions were a little smaller that some other places I've been to. Which is fine, I'm assuming they do this so no one wastes food. One lady server who didn't speak at all was the sweetest person ever. Loved her! She was so kind. The other one not so much.

Extremely friendly staff with quick efficient service. Yummy meats. They hit the spot when you're craving AYCE KKBBQ. Dark and moody, very loud.

Their soybean stew is a perfect pairing to their pork belly.

They have one of the highest quality meat, beef n stew. Not to mention highly attentive service, never once did at have to request out grill to be changed. They are on top of their game! Indoor is an old school golf in the wall in an alley type setup but it's still comfortable for a small party. Depending on hour busy they are they have a separate section for larger groups but might be taken up depending on good buddy they are

Moon BBQ in Gardena is such a nice, cozy AYCE Korean BBQ spot! We booked here because they actually take reservations for groups over 5 people -- most Korean BBQ places only accept reservations for 10+, so this was a huge plus. The food was delicious and the servers were friendly and attentive. I especially loved their beef tongue and steamed egg, and the sirloin was really good too. Definitely worth the money! Parking in the mall can get a little tight at times, but there's always street parking nearby. Highly recommended!

This place was referred to me by a friend and it was really good. I enjoyed my experience here. Food: I chose option A for $34.99 per person all you can eat on selected items, and I had the beef brisket, tenderloin, beef short ribs, blazing chicken, and a steamed egg. My favorite was definitely the beef short ribs as it was packed with flavor! Service: I came on a Monday night, slightly busy, but not crowded. I was seated immediately. The waiters were really nice and helpful, as it was only my 2nd time experiencing Korean bbq. Ambiance: the place is small and cute, located in a small shopping center with a parking lot. Tables are kind of close together, and seats weren't the most comfortable.

Moon has been my k-bbq spot for yearrsssss!! They have the best selection of meat especially the spicy pork belly. Their kimchi noodle soup and steamed egg is the best, I order it every time. It's a must. The experience here is not like any other k-bbq place. You're sitting on these little stools around the grill it just feels like a unique experience. The service here is amazing they really make you feel like family. Every time I go they're always greeting me with huge smiles and hugs since I've known them for so long. I highly recommend!

Delicious spot with limited but flavorful options. The service was enjoyable - everyone gets greeted by all staff members as you enter and exit. To accommodate to many parties the place may feel a little snuggly but it's manageable and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Only "issue" I had was finding parking because the lot was full and most likely to also have future parking issues due to very limited spaces available; they stayed full during the whole time we were there.

To the moon and back? Eh.... I've passed by this place so many times and finally tried it out. They are only open for dinner time; as a personal preference I like ayce Kbbq for lunch. Anywho... the parking is cramp, and can get busy fast, choose your spot wisely as you may get blocked in. This place filled up quick so I would come right when they open to avoid a wait. The staff were friendly, all smiles here. The place itself feels cramped inside as well and I'm not sure how to feel about the round tables, there was only 2 of us and it got full fast with the ban chans and meat plates. Now as for the food, it was pretty good, we went with option A which had a lot of meats to choose from. Nothing really stood out though, and for me, what makes Kbbq really hit is how a place makes their brisket sauce, and the one here didn't really do it for me. More on the sweet and thicker side. Overall, this place was decent, with so many other kbbq options around the area now, I'm not sure if I'll be back. Happy eats, loves! ^_^

Everything about this place was perfect. No wait for a table, the ambiance is small but quaint and the atmosphere of the restaurant overall is comfortable. The food was delicious and endless; the menu is lined up to easily read on the wall with more than enough options both hot and cold. The service was excellent- cannot wait to come back again!

Fav sides potato salad, cabbage salad, pink radish, kimchi, and brisket sauce.

1st off... This is officially my 500th REVIEW!…read more There are so many random Chinese buffets all around the world, but this particular 1 stands out to me because it brings back so many memories of when my mom was still alive while fighting breast and bone cancer. It was 1 of the very last places we ate together as a family back in the early 2000s and I can't help but think about her every time I come to this place. Aside from all that sentimental biased-ness, this China Buffet legit has a great amount of quality and choices for a business that's been around longer than some of the newer spots around here and everywhere. The parking isn't extremely bad because it's huge and it's shared with other businesses. It can get very very understandably crowded during the lunch and weekend rushes. For less than $20, I love coming here during their cheaper lunch times. Fridays, weekends and holidays is when they charge OVER $20, but with more food choices, of course. ALL their food is pretty damn good. Even though they don't have room for a hibachi guy like other places, I dig how they do the hibachi menus in the kitchen and put out the grilled chicken, thin steaks and grilled fish near their excellent choices of sushi! Now... their restroom situation is such a toss up because for the men's, there's only 1 freakin' toilet and the rest are urinals! It absolutely sucks when you eat all that food and you legit gotta go (which is a lot of their customers) and you can't promptly go because there's always that 1 guy just lolligaging on his damn cell phone instead of just taking the Browns to the Super Bowl, dropping off the kids and going on right away for others to do the same! That's like my only gripe along with the regular toss up of if you're going to a nice server who actually has somewhat of a decent personality to mix with at least decent customer service. There ARE servers who are really nice, but it's hard to tell who really stands out positively. ALL IN ALL, I love this place. It isn't perfect, but it feels like home to me. Need to go Number 2 after all that great food still? Do what I do and digest all that greatness and play Harold & Kumar BATTLESHITS at the Best Buy next to this place! LOLOLOL!!! Stay blessed! Love and miss you always, mom!!

A male Asian employee behind the sushi counter dropped an entire tray of toasted garlic bread onto the floor. It was loud enough that everyone nearby turned to look. At that point, any reasonable person would expect the food to be thrown away. Instead, he picked every piece up off the floor and put it right back on the tray. It gets worse. Another employee (a woman wearing a pink North Face shirt) then took that same tray and placed the bread out on the buffet line for customers to eat. This is completely unsanitary and a serious violation of basic food safety standards. Food that has been on the floor is contaminated with bacteria, dirt, and who knows what else. Serving it to customers is not only disgusting, it's a health risk. Management and the owner need to review the cameras during this time and address this immediately. This level of negligence is unacceptable. We were shocked, disgusted, and will absolutely not be returning.

For some reason, I thought that #1 Buffet closed for good, so had not been here since the 2020…read morepandemic year, however used to come regularly with a friend with our then under 5 yr old children for lunch as means to expand the baby toddler kids opportunity to try and acquire the taste of diversity in food to expand their palate of favorites and vetting what they enjoy and dislike by actually experiencing the cuisine rather than prejudiced rejection based on look, name or smell which children (and adults) often do. So, it was an affordable experience when kids also ate free with the paying adult. Flash forward to 2026 and I drove by and it looked dark and closed, but the parking lot had cars, so I went to check it out. Note to the restaurant, invest in some sort of "open" neon sign or any sign of any noticeable size or design, electronic or not. The place looks comfortable and no frills which could deter walk in first time customers based on aesthetic decor and perceived cleanliness. It is fine. No negative issues. So, the prices range from $16 for weekday lunch to $22 for weekday dinner and $22 for weekend all day whether lunch or dinner when they bring out the higher tier food items like the seafood crab legs. Overall a great deal. Good diversity. The turnover seems adequate where food doesn't seem to sit there as typical Steam Tray Cuisine Chinese Food and dry out and get old and dehydrated. The food doesn't seem to taste fresh, as it's supposed to be... whether crispy fried, warm or hot, moist, tender, cool/cold, soft or whatever it's supposed to be. The service is efficient. Parking is easy. They do accept credit cards as well as cash. The clientele is diverse, Asians and non-Asians alike, black, brown (Hispanic), and white (Caucasian), young and old as well as families with children, couples or seniors. It's working class no-frills. It's not a place you take a first date to dress to impress of course. It's a very safe and family friendly environment. In the world of neighboring Chinese AYCE Buffets, I used to rank "China Buffet" in Torrance as the top, then when "Ichiban" in Gardena opened it earned dethroning "China Buffet" (who no longer offered Roast Duck and Snow Crab Legs), but the old standard of "#1 Buffet" in Lawndale just earned my rank and recommendation as the best Chinese AYCE Buffet based upon price, selection, ease of seating and of course the most important factor of food quality. The dinner and lunch price is justifiable based on a few key dishes alone. If you went to an "a la carte" restaurant, even Chinese "family style" entrees to share, it would be hard to affordably replicate what #1 Buffet offers in a diverse range of dishes to indulge in. The self-service style makes it fun, convenient and easy as a dining experience. Soft drinks are an added charge and have free refills. You might same money and stomach space (to eat more) and health (sugars!) by opting for the free ice water as a recommendation on how to navigate eating at a buffet and "get your money's worth" - - avoid the sugars, carbs (breads, rice, noodles and fried/battered dishes) and the cheaper foods like french fries, pizza, etc) and go for the proteins like seafood, beef, chicken and pork)... of course get your salad, soup and veggies as a balance. I took a lit of photos for context and references. However... if in doubt, you can visit and first "ask politely" if you can walk the buffet steamed tray area to see what's available before committing. Just don't be uncouth and try to "sample" any of the foods on your tour as a yet to be committed paying seated patron. The price is affordable and there is a service despite the perception of DIY, so be sure to leave a tip. These people work harder than a bartender serving a simple drink, a coffee barista, a food delivery provider and many others, and are generally low wage earners who would appreciate a gratuity and are earning it. Be kind, be thoughtful, be generous, be appreciative and be gracious.

Food is warm not hot. Seafood is a bit more fishy than other buffets. The small letter-size price list is posted where it's not easy to see. Redeeming quality: Friendly employees and manager. I like that they have papaya in the fresh fruit section. Add that to my ice cream then top with chopped peanuts for a delicious dessert. Chinese music playing in the background along with the outdated interior makes me a bit nostalgic.

This location was recently named one of three LA area buffets in the top 150 in the country, based on Google reviews. I've been to a lot of buffets (Chinese and otherwise), and this was near the top, especially based on the price. We came about 30 minutes after its 11 am opening, and the place was already packed with a line waiting to get in. You pay first, getting water and soda cups at checkout (plates are plentiful near the buffet itself). Emmelyn was the check-in associate, and she was joyful and friendly, putting a smile on my wife's face after a stressful drive through LA traffic. We found out that my wife's lunch was free because it was her birthday. Lunch pricing is $15.19 (M-F), minus $1 for seniors and military. Refillable soda is $2.99. It's find your own seating, and we grabbed the first seats we could find. -- being super crowded meant the food was constantly being replenished and kept fresh. It also meant a lot of line (inadvertent) line cutting and careful, slow movements...need to be careful for sure. -- the taste of the food was good, mainly because most things were turning over quickly. However, the selection of dishes wasn't huge, and the soups didn't look too good. -- I focused on the sushi and was satisfied. They had different type simple rolls and nigiri, with soy sauce at each table. They also had a bottle of eel sauce to douse your rolls with more, if you want. Towards the end, discovered a New Zealand green mussel dish in a hot chili sauce, which I took full advantage of. -- the must get is the Mongolian Grill, which dominates the center of the restaurant. There were three types of sliced frozen meat (beef, chicken, pork), a variety of vegetables (including my favorite, baby corn), and various runny sauces that you pour on top when done. Once your bowl is complete, you need to give it to the operator. But here its a bit different: it operates on a unique system that I've only seen here. In the front counter, there are 20 spots where numbered pager sits. Once a person fills up a bowl with raw ingredients, they place it on the next available pager spot, taking the pager with them. Once the food is cooked, the pager goes off. You then exchange the bowl in your spot, with the pager...and the cycle continues. I asked myself what would happen if all 20 pagers were taken, and decided if that happened, you would have to wait since there would be no more space on the grill for your plate anyway. The system worked really well, with all three of us taking advantage of it. Taste wise, I've had better but certainly not for that price. And I just love the efficiency of it all. -- soft serve ice cream was available, and it was very thick and creamy (though a bit off in taste). My wife also mentioned that you can get cotton candy as well. -- Service was good, with an employee in a hostess outfit personally letting us know that she was there to assist us, including getting drinks. She did clear dishes when necessary, but also seemed to be supervising our section. What's interesting is that the same report mentioned King Buffet in Garden Grove, which now seems to be another branch of the Paradise chain. So need to be leery of such reports not being current...but in this case, following its suggestion paid off.
