I was promised an 8 to 9 am appointment and the tech showed up at 8:30. I requested he find and fix a leak in my mini-split system that a different vendor installed two years ago and after two previous attempts, could not fix. Jerry from HVAC Medic found a flare fitting that was leaking and could not be tightened sufficiently to seal it up so he replaced it. I was referred to HVAC Medic through Gary L. (who I see put a review in for this company too!). I have several rental properties and had to deal with different HVAC companies before and I have to say, these guys are the best. I had a problem with my own residential AC and after explaining the symptoms to Jerry, his son (Junior) came by at 8 AM to take a look. Jerry came by a short while later to see things for himself and review the conclusions Junior had reached and what he was going to do to fix my AC. I'll spare the details but apparently, I had a mismatched capacitor and motor...they replaced the capacitor and installed a universal motor so everything was matched up...and surprise...my AC is working like a champ! I have had problems with it ever since it was installed (I think they installed the wrong parts when it was originally installed!). The best part? Junior is very respectful and he explained everything he saw, that he was going to do and then reviewed everything when it was all done. He answered my other questions about the system. I was charged a more than reasonable price for their work and I would strongly recommend them to anyone else that needs HVAC service. The only thing to keep in mind is that this is a small company...I think it is just mainly Jerry and his two sons. I saw another comment about not being contacted right away...that was not my experience but I can see how that could happen (although, the other comment mentioned something about a distribution center which strikes me as odd as it seems like Jerry is the main interface...I wouldn't call him a distribution center!). Anyway, my point is that if you have to wait a little while for a callback because they are busy, they are WORTH the wait! It is better to have people who know what they are doing than pay someone else who may or may not know what they are doing. These guys know their stuff! I can't recommend them enough! read more

Don't trust these guys! I called Jerry for a free estimate in regards to the furnace not always turning on. He scheduled an appt. for 11:30; I called to confirm. He said he'd ck with his crew & call bk. Never did. I called @ 1pm & he said he'd be there in 20 minutes. I called again at 2:45pm left a message. Some guy named Matt showed up at 3:30. Walked in, said he didn't know but thought it was a faulty thermostat. Said he'd get an estimate. Then proceeded to use my vacuum cleaner to clean for 10 minutes. Told me there would be a trip charge of $30, which Jerry didn't mention. Then to charge me for an hour's worth of labor at $75. I told him he should be ashamed! He said, Lady I'm just trying to do my job. I gave him the 15% off coupon (sr.) and he said it was only on labor, which is not printed on the coupon. I gave him my email address so that Jerry could send me quote but that was 12.11.13 and he's never bothered to follow up. So, the furnace is still not fixed and I'm out $93.75. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO RECONSIDER USING THESE GUYS! read more

Great service. Called at 6:30pm and was told they could have someone out at 7am the next day. The technicians diagnosed the problem and fixed it right away. They then checked the attic and the outside unit to make sure there weren't any leaks, as well as made sure the air was blowing properly and efficiently. It's so stressful when something breaks down and you have to find a service tech. It's kinda like a stab in the dark. Will they do a good job or charge me for stuff i don't need or can't afford? I always use internet reviews so I wanted to post about my experience with HVAC Medic. I called Jerry on Monday with a broken air conditioner and was pleased he could fit us in the following morning. Good communication and he called as promised when he was on his way. Jerry and a co-worker came in and quickly found the problem capacitor and replaced it. They even gave my husband some tips for upkeep of the unit. They also gave him advice about the water heater and the bathroom fan. Well worth the $95 service fee!!!! When everyone else says "You need to replace your HVAC system for $5,400, here comes Jerry! Not only was he courteous and on time, he saved us thousands of dollars! Jerry quickly found a bent shrader valve that caused a leak and replaced both of them at no charge. This is probably the worst customer service I have ever had and I tell everyone that ask me about HVAC not to even attempt to work with this company. I had a sticker on my unit (in the home I purchased) with the number 619.867.3760 and reached Jerry. Jerry asked for a text in his voice mail. I texted him direct and despite the sticker indicating 24 hour service, I was rudely told I would receive a call from the distribution center to schedule. I received no call from the center and Jerry was then unresponsive to any future text. I made contact another service and got it taken care of right away. We had Jerry and his sons out to fix our AC at home. I was so impressed by the service and the way our home AC works now that I asked about him servicing our business. I mean these guys made sure to make time for us in that crazy heat wave we've had this late summer, I knew they were caring and professional. When they got to our business downtown, they did a check up. Checked our filters checked our efficiency etc. They explained to me exactly what type of units we have. I needed this explanation because our business is in a high-rise building downtown and our AC units are actually water cooled heat pumps. No one had ever really explain to me how these work until HVAC medics. It's a different concept than the residential units I'm familiar with. They didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need and actually reassured me that our units were doing great. They can perform regular maintenance like change filters etc. which is convenient for a business owner. I'll be calling them again! read more
