I don't often post reviews. However, when I am impressed from start to finish, I'll take time out of my busy day to post something worth sharing. My dad's central AC stopped working a while ago. Being in his mid 70's, comfort is important. So, I took the initiative to get his AC fixed. Landed on Maximum Comfort Heating and AC and gave them a call. Josie took my call, asked a few important questions and scheduled me in. Easy peasy. Josie was courteous, professional, and easy to talk to. Stellar experience. The day of inspection, Elkan who was the Service Tech assigned, greeted us. Super cool dude! Very very knowledgeable about everything and anything AC related. He schooled us with a wealth of information, leaving us well educated on maintenance, future considerations and most importantly, fixed my Dad's AC on the spot. Super happy my Dad can now use his AC during this heat. Thank you Josie and Elkan for being really awesome at what y'all do. You have gain a repeat customer and will continue to share my positive experience beyond Yelp when the topic of Heating and AC comes up. 5 stars! read more

Ghosted with absolutely no follow-up. Multiple attempts to reach out were met with silence. When I finally did get ahold of someone, I was told to wait for an email that never came. Eventually, I was able to get a technician out to diagnose the issue. I was told there was a Freon leak, and that was basically the end of the conversation. Once again, I had to struggle just to get any kind of follow-up. When I finally reached a manager, I was then told that an HVAC installation could not be done at all, which left me completely confused given everything I had already been told. At that point, I was fed up and went elsewhere. In the end, I'm out the $180 diagnostic fee, received no meaningful resolution, and somehow still get their marketing emails. There are plenty of companies in San Diego that do this kind of work, and plenty that seem to have the customer experience and installation process down to a science. Maybe Maximum is still working some of that out, but unfortunately I wasn't willing to keep chasing them for answers. I ultimately went with a local family-run company instead, and they did fantastic work. So in the end, I suppose it worked out for the best. read more

I am so grateful we found them! They came highly recommended on an Alpine fb group. I first reached out to some others who were recommended, and ultimately we went with Maximum Comfort. They were incredibly responsive and offered competitive pricing. They were able to schedule the work and get it wrapped up right as the heat was really peaking, and we are so grateful! Kevin was really easy to work with, and the crew of guys who came out to do the install worked really hard and were also very kind people. On top of replacing our condenser unit and replacing 2 indoor mini splits, they helped re-work the lines on the outside of the house to clean them up and the outside of our house now looks way cleaner than it did before. AC is working great, and we were able to make it through this past heat wave without melting. Thanks! - The Knowles Family read more

Hired Maximum Comfort Heating to seal some gaps around a furnace after SDGE did an inspection. They were prompt and did the job. The cost was reasonable. I did not particularly like the automated scheduling program they used when their phone lines were tied up, I had to repeat the scheduling and reiterate the issues when a service person called back. read more

My experience went very smooth. Everyone was super kind and welcoming. I got a great deal on my hvac system and they installed everything in 1 day! Clean work with a great price, I will be referring all my friends and family. read more

Maximum Comfort Heating and Air installed my air conditioning units in 2023. I scheduled a yearly inspection for 6-7-2024 with a promised arrival time between 2 PM and 4 PM. The technician (Joel P) arrived at about 2:45 PM with a heads up call that he was at the gate. Joel was very courteous on arrival. I recognized him from the install last year. He was very professional and considerate even placing booties over his shoes to protect the wood floors. This was my second contact and Joel P. continued the professional and courteous demeanor that I believe is a hallmark of this company. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Maximum Comfort Heating and Air precisely because of the skilled, professional and courteous employees like Joel P. Walter Ogle Campo, Ca read more

I found this company in a Fortune magazine story awhile back. It was about HVAC companies with great reviews. Joel, David and Kavin just finished installing two air condition units. The estimate was fair, the communication was great and they completed the installations like perfectionists. They were so pleasant and easy to have around as they worked nonstop to finish the job on time. I highly recommend this company. read more

Our AC quit during the big heat wave and we were scrambling to find the right company to do the repair. It turns out we needed to replace the majority of the system. We were very happy with the work done by a local business that doesn't rip people off. read more

We hired Maximum Comfort to supply our Mini-Splits in the new ADU we built. We paid just over $8,000 for 3 LG units which came with a 10-year parts warranty. After two years with hardly much use, one of the units stopped working. We had Maximum Comfort come out to fix it and they said even though the parts were still under warranty, it was going to be $1,100 JUST FOR LABOR to install the parts. We complained about the ridiculously high labor charge and they proceeded to tell us they won't work with us anymore. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR AC and HEATING NEEDS. ONCE THEY GET YOU AS A CUSTOMER, THEY GOUGE YOU WITH LABOR COSTS! read more

Always great customer service! Amanda was able to get us an appointment quickly, and our AC was fixed the day of our appointment. Clayton was friendly and very helpful. Couldn't be more grateful! Thank you, Maximum Comfort. 10/10 recommend. read more

Had my AC replaced for a heat pump so now our heating is all electric . Since we already have solar it made sense especially after the recent SDG&E rate increase on gas. Very happy with the company customer service and quality of work. Would highly recommend them and have Joel give you an estimate. read more

I've had a few AC companies over the years come out and it's always been okay, but this company is outstanding! I've signed up for their routine maintenance service ever since they came out and fixed my AC last year when it broke in the dead middle of summer. Always professional and honest. It's always easy dealing with them and their work is awesome! Chris and his staff are how a company should operate and take care of customers! Thank you! read more

I saw several reviews and recommendations for Maximum Comfort from locals all very positive. I thought I'd give them a try. Although my AC was fairly new several things that probably should have be addressed by the previous owner who had the unit installed were not. Maximum made recommendations to install new ducts and install them properly. I knew this needed to be done as I am a general contractor and was a building maintenance supervisor for the City of San Diego. They made other upgrades per my request. All work was done professionally and to industry standards. I highly recommend them if you want your work to be done properly! read more

Amazing service, quick, honest and on time. Our house went from 85°to 75° inside!!! I would highly recommend Maximum Comfort, you won't be disappointed in the quality of service you receive!!! read more

My first review of Maximum Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning was many years ago when first used for routine maintenance. The bi-annual maintenance was continued and then an old unit finallly stopped cooling with the days of quite high temperatures. We had an detailed explaination of what could be done to get the old unit working versus the cost for a new unit. We selected the new, high efficiency unit and hoped it would be installed as soon as possible which was the case. The guys installing the new unit with an outside compressor and a unit in the attic were great. Two days were required to complete the installation with questions being answered and explanations provided as regular updates. The guys were friendly and took care of protecting the carpet and doors for the attic work and the outside area looked better than before they started. We are pleased with all they did and happy to have a cool inside again. These are only some of the reasons for the five star rating. Add to that when they were ready to end the day's work, they noticed our second air conditioner's water overflow was leaking which meant a clogged drain. Rather than leave, they promptly determined the problem and fixed the clogged drain in a matter of minutes. Just another example of the professionalism of this company. I highly recommend them for rountine maintenance service as well as a major installation. They are the best! read more

MCHA team is incredible! The whole process was really easy start to finish and we're extremely happy! Every detail was accounted for and those are things you really appreciate in the long run. I also had them come out and service my other unit (older that they didn't install) to get it running better and everything has been great. We have many future items for HVAC that we need done and we're only going to be using MCHA. Very happy client! read more

Chris was awesome and came out in the middle of a heat wave to fix our air conditioning unit. Ours broke in the middle of the night and Chris came out the very next day, even though I know he was busy. He fixed the problem and was on time. The other businesses I called didn't seem to care as much as Chris did. Thank you!!! read more

I did a lot of research and read a lot of review and I'm kind of person that doesn't write a lot of reviews but for these guys I will be happy to do it, they are really professionals and worked with me a very good deal and the job was prefect, I got a lot of estimates but when you talk to these guys you can tell they know what they're talking about. Thanks, read more

These guys are top-notch. Great customer service, impeccable work ethic. We had Chris do all of the work and despite the fact that he had to do multiple visits because of our schedule he was more than happy to accommodate us, without affecting our budget. There prices are very reasonable, something that you would know once you have shopped around. Their expertise is pretty evident as they will have all the details scoped out in advance without leaving any room for hidden expenses. Like any other project, unexpected stuff can happen and nobody has any control over it but you need somebody who can cover the expected part end-to-end, which these guys did with absolute perfection. Save your time and give them a call first. read more

I own a health care setting for elders in Alpine and I just CAN'T have issues with my heating and air. I have used some larger companies in the past and always felt like I was at the bottom of their priority list due to my location in Alpine. NOT SO WITH CHRIS at Maximum Comfort. His response to a call for service is always timely and he gets the repair or service done at once so that my seniors are always comfortable. Chris has us on a regular schedule of maintenance so that my repair needs have dropped, thus saving me money and inconvenience. I can't recommend this company enough. For those of you in East County, we finally have a service provider that doesn't confuse being near Viejas with being near VENUS. read more

Chris came out and quickly diagnosed what turned out to be a minor issue with my AC unit. Excellent customer service and an honest assessment. If my AC acts up again, I'll definitely be calling Chris. I highly recommend this company. read more

As an out of town landlord, it is always difficult to find a vendor that will do the best job for your tenant. One call to Chris and he handled all the local communication, arranging a convenient time, showing up when he said he would and completing the repair while letting both me and the tenant know what was going on. The repair cost was very reasonable and my tenant texted me immediately to compliment his work and professionalism. I have a trusted HVAC service vendor now and won't use anyone else. Thanks Chris read more

Chris was awesome. Called and made an appointment and Chris called 15 minutes before our appointment to make sure I was ready. Chris is very professional and really knows his stuff. Chris diagnosed I had a bad fan. Chris drove and got the part and installed it in no time at all. Now I have AC again. Cannot recommend this guy enough. Honest, straightforward, and fair. read more

Highly recommend these folks. Installed Mitsubishi mini split for me. Very knowledgeable, excellent installation and clean up after, good pricing also! Prompt and courteous, could not ask for more. read more

Chris and his team did an outstanding job installing a mini split HVAC unit at our house in EL Cajon. His pricing was great, he knocked out all the work in less than a day, handled the electrical work (this was key) and was very professional. I already recommended him to several people in my office. read more

Chris was terrific. I originally had someone out from one of the big HVAC companies in town about the issue (my AC wasn't blowing cool air) and all they did was make me wait 4 hours (they gave me a 4 hour time window and, of course, showed up at the very end of that window), took literally two minutes to simply check the pressure on the unit to tell me that it was low on freon and then charged a 100 dollars for a "diagnostic fee". They then tried to charge me an arm and a leg to come back to fill the unit with freon and then tried to upsell me on their yearly maintenance plan. It was a very poor experience. Maximum Comfort was completely different. I didn't want to go with that company after that experience so I contacted multiple companies about the freon leak and Chris was by far the most knowledgeable and pragmatic about the issue and had the most reasonable price. The AC is now blowing colder air than it ever has and I'm very pleased with the experience. DONT GO WITH ONE OF THE BIG COMPANIES, go with Maximum Comfort -- what a dramatically better experience! read more

Can't thank maximum comfort enough! Called them up and showed up the next day, fast, polite and chris explains things so well and set us up with the best system for our home! Thank you Maximum Comfort I would highly recommend this company! read more
