We freaked out at the cost, since we don't have that kind of money laying around. Our AC system is also only 10-years old, so it doesn't make sense there would be that large of an expense. Luckily, we had the common sense to call someone for a second opinion. Michael Rotter and his team at "Alliance Heating & A/C" came out on Wednesday and proved to be honest, honorable and knowledgeable! Not only did they say we didn't need to replace the system, but it only needed to be cleaned. Instead of it costing us $6,000-$7,000, it only cost of $249. Lesson learned? Always get multiple opinions for large quotes AND always make sure you call Alliance Heating & A/C FIRST. They are HONEST and understand the value of retaining repeat customers, for less money, actually makes them MORE money over time. We'll never call anyone else. Michael and his team are our go-to solution, as long as we live in San Diego. Thanks Michael -- you're an awesome person and professional. PS: We also learned that AirMaxx is either incompetent or dishonest. Quoting us $6K-$7K for a $250 job is inexcusable.

The whole crew was easy to work with, were super friendly to my doggos and did a really thorough job on making sure that everything was installed nicely and in a cosmetically pleasing way. They installed the system at the end of the year last year and the manager just called to personally touch base and make sure that our unit was working well with the recent heat wave. Buyer Beware!  They don't make good when they make mistakes…read more I am very disappointed with Allegiance Heating and Air.  We have spent about $20K with this company.  We bought a new HVAC and dehumidifier.  We also had them move our air handler and reinstall.  Basically, of all the big things they did almost everything had to be fixed. 1.      A tech came to my house and had only one booty in his van.  He opted to put on one booty and walk in my house with Henry's Roof Tar on the other shoe.  My carpet is permanently damaged.  I paid to have it cleaned and, in order to get reimbursed, I had to sign a release.  $450 is all Allegiance paid for this mistake. I should have never signed that release.  I should have made them replace my stairs carpet which they offered but construction in my house at the time was not an option. The stains return over and over again. Now, they will not compensate me by cleaning my stairs every couple years or comp my air filters for the rest of my maintenance contract, which might cost them at most around $1000 over 10 years and would have made me a happy customer.  I proposed the filters being comped as a courtesy to us and Kassi McCrory, the controller, ignored my follow-up email requesting this after she had told me there was nothing more they could do.  I have no recourse other than to warn other potential customers.  $20,000.00 is lot of money.  Doing business with Allegiance has been a HUGE hassle. 2.     A duct was lying on the attic floor for a whole season. When we had our system installed, the lead tech specifically told the installers how to attach the ducts to the unit in the attic.  They did it the easy and incorrect way.  I did not ask for any money for this expensive mistake as I'm sure it added substantially to my energy bill. The lead tech was very frustrated with the installers as he had been very specific. 3.     The techs could not reinstall our air handler correctly. They were here for 6 hours on a Friday afternoon.  The two issues were low coolant and incorrect electrical hook-up.  These are not difficult to diagnose.  It was during a heat wave and we had to suffer with a low functioning AC for an additional few days due to poor training and lack of skill by their technicians.  The lead tech had to come back and fix it the next week. This service was $1,500. We have been good customers.  We have been patient with all these mishaps but I am livid that they will do nothing to make the stained stairs situation right.  I have covered all of these events with Kassi.  I don't feel heard. I've had about 5 tech personnel visit my home whose work had to be redone. The only capable person was Laurence Calhoun. He had to fix everything. I would not recommend Allegiance Heating and Air.
