Harley's, Guzzis, Honda, Royal Enfield, Triumphs... Some used, some new... But about why I love this place: When my bike decided to have a mysterious wiring malfunction, I tossed it on a tow truck and sent it to see Carl, Ed, Dana, Mike, Steve, Rob and the other guys at Winchester Motosports in Winchester/Clearbrook. Those guys worked on it diligently and without trying to rack up a huge bill, sent me back my bike with a reasonable bill, two newly installed tires, fresh fluids and adjusted this and that. The thing is AAA wouldn't two my bike out to me. So Ed delivered the bike to me, dropped it off and they charged me half of what anyone else would/could have. Nice people. But here's the thing. I took a ride out there the last two weekends to get some things done to the bike and I met Carl, Ed Mike and Dana, all of whom are the NICEST people. They've treated me well, treated everyone I've seen in their shop well, and fairly, and so I will continue to get my bike serviced there, despite being over an hour away. Carl is a great guy, fun to talk to, a fair owner of the shop, knows his bikes, and really enjoys seeing people ride. Mike is a good solid mechanic as are the rest of the boys back there. There are also some very pleasant nice, and dedicated bike enthusiasts floating around this shop. So talk to the folks there. Might not be a destination shop like once of those Monster shops, but I'd rather talk to Winchester any day of the week.

But the one shop I kept hearing recommended over and over again is "the duc pond." As a fan of a well-placed pun myself, I had to check these guys out. They're absolutely not down the street from me, but what the hell did I buy the bike for anyways?! To ride it - so off I set for my 11AM appt (which had me waking up at the buttcrack of dawn... my bad, me) for Winchester. I'm greeted by a giant dog bellowing barks in exchange for head pats. Absolutely had to make that trade, and then the Ducati tech walks out and like a wizard, fixes everything on the bike, gives it a once over bill of health, makes recommendations, and teaches me a few things. It was wonderful. Was it cheap? No - but I'm a huge proponent of "you get what you pay for" and what I wanted was a Ducati technician and what I got was the confidence that my motorcycle had been taken care of. Will definitely be back!! I like these guys!

I wish I would have been told this before the owner (Donnie) took my Ducati in for warranty service in October 2020 and let the bike sit for close to two months. From start to finish, the experience was excellent. Communication was outstanding -- I received regular updates throughout the process. The team went above and beyond with little things I didn't even ask for, like fixing my mirror and giving the bike a complimentary wash. They also took the time to diagnose a few other issues and explain everything clearly without any pressure. Most importantly, everyone there was genuinely friendly and easy to work with. Let's be honest, dealing with vehicle repairs is usually stressful and never something you look forward to, but MotoMember somehow made it a positive experience. I originally planned to fix the bike just enough to sell it, but after getting it back from them, I think I'm going to enjoy riding it a while longer. Highly recommend MotoMember if you're looking for honest, professional motorcycle service.

Sadly, that was the end of the good experience. Once I was taken to the bikes, the sales person walked away. After about 30min. we had to go find them to ask for a test ride that was initially refused due to "store policy". They did allow a test ride after a few minutes of talking, but then again after returning, we could not find our sales person again for about another 45min. At this point, I was frustrated, but decided to let the sales person know that I was interested in a specific bike, but did not wish to stay for the rest of the afternoon to complete paperwork since we came in from out of state. I let them know Tuesday morning that I wanted the bike and asked if they could transfer the bike to another store that was closer. I was told that they could have the bike sent the next day, and I completed the paperwork online that evening. Wednesday, I was told that the bike wouldn't be transferred until the following week at the earliest. I informed the sales person that I would return the next day to pick the bike up as I had a planned group ride that weekend. Thursday I go to the dealership at the time they were told I'd be there, and the bike is not ready to leave, they also had me re-do all of the paperwork at the dealership and tried to get me to pay my down payment a second time. Since bringing the bike home in November 25, I still do not have the title to be able to register the bike. Just today after calling the GM since the Sales manager and Finance manager I worked with are both gone from the dealership, I learned that they reported the incorrect mileage to the VA DMV, and have been working to correct the title. I was never informed of this issue, after calling and emailing the dealership multiple times between November and now. Absolutely nightmare dealership to work with and would highly encourage anyone to conduct their business elsewhere.
