My 86 yr old mom, who is in the hospital, was having urgent surgery on Monday. We had traveled from 5 1/2 hours away on our spare because we discovered a flat tire with a screw in it when we were departing home. We left the hospital knowing her surgery was going to be in a few hours, which would give us time to have the tire fixed but were concerned that she might get moved up on the schedule. They got us in and out the door almost immediately. Upon going to pay, the gentleman at the desk, who was extremely friendly and kind, refused payment and said it was on them! brought my car there mid august for some issues with my ac and the dashboard alerts came on. It took them weeks to "repair" it, they didn't repair it they just cleared the dashboard of the alarms. All the lights reappered within 3 miles of the business. I called and was told to bring my car back, i did that. After my car was not repaired for the second time successfully, I asked for a refund. Jamie, the manager said he'd make it right and to bring it in for the 3rd time. After having my car for a week Jamie said they can't fix it, won't give me a refund unless i get it repaired at a dealership. I want a refund, i never signed a contract saying that I'd bring my car to a dealer for a repair. If tire outfitters couldn't fix it, they should have been honest. They drained me financially where I can't afford to pay for it to be repaired at a dealership. Why do I need to spend more money to get a refund?? The car is a 2006, I paid $850 and got zero repair. read more

If zero stars was an option, that would be a gift. My wife went in for a simple rotation/balance/alignment after the initial install. She went to the wrong place and ended up getting there late. She understood that she would been seen when possible, asked what time she should return and the shop manager said around noon. She returned at 12:15 and was told it would be another 3 hours. How is someone this bad at estimating time? So, if you're running behind at all, don't call them and try to explain anything, just go home because you will be spending half your day sitting in a stained up waiting room that smells like a restroom at a dirt track. I'm almost 100% positive there was a bait and switch with pricing as well but they use a quote system that disappears after 7 days. Make sure you print anything related to pricing. Better yet, go somewhere else in the first place. I get it, it is painfully obvious that I am not from VA the second I start talking. I have lived here for the better part of a decade and do not appreciate being treated like a sap. read more

This place changed hands in the last year. When Ed owned it this was a great place. These new guys just charge you whatever. Do not trust them. The only one in the office you can trust is Jaime. The others be very careful. Charged me almost $1300 for 4 tires. Was my fault for trusting them and they took advantage of me. Was never like that when Ed owned the shop. I could always trust him and the others in the office. Not like that now. The guys working are all good guys and will do your work correctly. You just have to watch what you are getting charged for the work. After what I was charged for the tires I will be looking elsewhere for the first time in 30yrs. This is a great no frills great price tire shop. I recently researched on one of the major tire websites for a tire model to install on my wife's CRV. The site, which normally has a substantially low price, was beaten by this shop by $20 per tire. Not sure if you'll get the same results for all brands. I called them and gave them the model and size I wanted, they said they could have them the next day and installed if needed. I opted to schedule later, but dropped off at around 10 am for an 11:00 appointment and got a call around 2 that is was finished (I didn't wait there). read more

Never had the check engine light come on until the day I picked it up from Tire Outfitters after having the timing belt replaced in 2019. First, they said you need new spark plugs, so I paid another 200+ dollars, but light was still on. They tried to figure out what was causing it (which is why I give them 2 stars), but after trying for hours, they couldn't. Had gotten a phone estimate for a repair of approximately $300 but when I brought my car in suddenly it would have cost an additional $200 even tho I had accurately described the problem on the phone. According to the internet the part involved cost $$90. They proceeded to fail it for inspection for different problems, one of which is wipers which seems like something they just could have sold me. But the biggest problem which in no way interferes with the driving of the vehicle would cost an additional $500 to repair. Needless to say I left paying only for the inspection which was a waste of money as it now needs another inspection. so many of the people left 5 star reviews mentioning honesty and good prices. I agree with neither. I hope somebody reads this before dealing with this business and if it turns out the cost to repair my car elsewhere is close to what I was quoted I will come back and write another review. read more

I was absolutely blown away by the amazing service that I received from Tire Outfitters. I had a manifold exhaust leak in my 2002 Ford F150. My pastor recommended this place and my brother who is a former mechanic told me to be careful because the aluminum manifold can be a headache and potentially costly. Jamie was my service representative and he knew the exact issue and got it fixed within a day. The best part was that the estimate was $493, but he only charged me $402 because they got the work done an hour quicker. Most places would have charged the original amount but Jamie's approach to charge actual hours was a blessing and a surprise. The cherry on top was they plugged a slow leak in my rear tire at no charge. Wow! If you are looking for an honest mechanic, then this is the place to go. read more

I like cooper tires for my truck which needed to be special ordered. I took care of that over the phone and they called me a few days later to say they were in. Price he quoted me was more than the price he charged me, said he was able to find the tires for a bit less from a different supplier. Guy actually called around to get me the best price when he did not have to. Did a good, quick job on the tires and had me out the door quick. This is the 3rd time I've been here and great experience each time. Went in for routine inspection. One of the older gentleman had to tell on of the mechanics to not kick my car. Went to drive off, and noticed they didn't put the inspection sticker on the car. Took another 15 minutes to put the sticker on. It's very clear the change in ownership has changed the service. I won't be returning. read more

I've got two aged and worn out vehicles with over 100,000 miles each. Both needed a bunch of work, mostly routine maintenance things like brakes and tires, and some things I've been putting off too long like a tune up. Having recently moved to the area from closer to DC, I looked around for a new repair shop and based on the reviews decided to give them a try. I called them up and talked to Danny back in January believe it or not, but he was very patient in talking out my options with me. Given how much work we needed done and being apprehensive about dumping money into old cars, he didn't complain, gave me his email to send a "punch list" to then came back to me with quotes. Their prices are extremely reasonable, so I decided to give them a shot. The only negative ran into is their hours of 8AM-5PM on weekdays and 8AM-1PM on Saturdays. I still work in DC, so it's virtually impossible for me to get home early enough without taking a day off to drop off or pick up on a weekday, especially when you factor in needing a second person to provide a ride. So my only real option is to drop off one Saturday and then pick up the next. As fate would have it, my transmission blew before I could find a weekend to bring it in, but luckily for me, it was under warranty from previous work at another shop, so after getting it towed there and the transmission fixed, I was ready to drop it off at Tire Outfitters. Because of the hours situation, I told them no rush and so a couple of days after dropping it off, I got a call with a diagnostic of what I needed done. I knew most of the problems they found, but there were a couple of others. I didn't get the sense they were just playing "pile on" like some mechanics do (i.e. you bring it in for an oil change and the next thing you know you need brakes, rotors, etc.). Again, their prices were so reasonable I didn't balk at telling them to go ahead and do everything. Since I had an out-of-state obligation the weekend after I dropped off, I couldn't pick up until two weeks later, but they didn't have a problem with that. I picked it up this morning and it's like driving a new vehicle performance wise...you wouldn't mistake it for its age with the cracked windshield and rusted running boards. I'm really happy with what they were able to do and their patience with me as a new customer. They could have blown me off since I wanted a lot of detail in the estimate and diagnosis, then couldn't find a good time to bring it in for six weeks because of my own schedule and transmission problems, but they didn't. I'll definitely be going back with my wife's vehicle next, and I'll keep bringing my back as well as long as the quality of work and flexibility is as good as it was this first time. read more

Might be the most honest shop I have ever visited. I'm a fair shade tree MX, so I know when I've been ripped off or being fed a line. These guys are honest. While I have never had Tire Outfitters do a major repair they have done various repairs that I didn't have time to do or didn't have the tools. They were quick about putting it together the moment they got the parts, and they even came in aprox. 20% UNDER the estimated cost (compared to AAA, who was going to charge me THREE TIMES what the guys at TO did.) And this is, again, going to back to my previous review, the fact that since I know little about cars, they could have snowballed me, but they didn't. Just...go. Have now recently used Tire Outfitters for more than just tires. Their service department is excellent. Quick, friendly, never overcharge or oversell any services. Always let you know what options you have and explain everything that should be done to fix a particular problem. As far as tires go, last fall they couldn't find particular snow tires for my car among their usual distributors. Danny found them on an Internet site and had me come behind the counter and order the tires from that site on their computer and have them delivered to Tire Outfitters. When the tires arrived a couple of days later they called me and put them on. They only charged for putting the tires on and didn't make one penny on the actual sale of the tires! read more

I moved here five years ago from Loudoun county and have continued to take my vehicle to Daves in Round Hill, I trust him, he's never screwed me over and his prices may not be low but they are at least fair. With that said, I had gotten tired of going over Mount Weather to get my truck worked on and started to look locally. Tire Outfitters had good reviews so I have taken my truck here 3 times in the last several months. They have done good work, my only concern is every time I've come here they give me a new list of things that won't pass inspection. In the past, when this has happened, I have found that auto shops are trying to drum up business. I can't say for sure that's what is happening here but as a test I took it to my old (and again current) mechanic to have him do an inspection, it passed no problem (it's not due, I have several months before I need an inspection). I previously gave these guys ten stars because they were that good, for years, a totally trustworthy bunch of mechanics. Without knowing they'd been sold to a new owner Nov 1 2021, I called to make an appointment but instead of getting the ever-efficient and always pleasant Angel on the phone, I got some bumbling old duffer who put me on hold for five minutes to check the appointment schedule until the call was cut off. Didn't apologize when I called back. Thought it was just some new guy but when I brought in the vehicle I didn't recognize anyone in the office, a red flag. Asked if the business had been sold and got a curt "Yup" with no explanation, no conversation, no easy and friendly interaction which had been the hallmark of Tire Outfitters. Abrupt, curt, clinical, totally unlike the easygoing small town atmosphere of before. Because there were a few holdovers I recognized, Jamie from the office and some of the mechanics, I continued with the service -- but won't in the future. Felt suspicious and sketchy and evasive. This had been the most trustworthy auto mechanic shop in town but sketchy and evasive isn't a good look. Seriously weird vibes. Really sad since Tire Outfitters had had that ineffable, irreplaceable quality for an auto mechanic: trust. That trust is gone. I'll go elsewhere. read more

Let's put it this way - called at 2, asked if they had tires in stock for my van, got BEST quote I've ever gotten, dropped off at 245, picked up at 330, paid and on the road 3 minutes later. It doesn't get any better than this, folks. I'm hesitant to review companies because one experience doesn't always mean it'll always be that way. However, for as many car keys as they had on top of invoices, they are a busy shop. I so beyond pleased with the price ($330 for 4 brand new tires mounted and balanced, cheapest anywhere else was $457) and the customer service. Would like to say a big thank you to Tire Outfitters! I just recently moved to Virginia from NH, my 2014 Chevy Silverado needed an inspection. Went to a local shop near me in Herndon and was told my truck needed over $3,600 in work, I could not believe it. My boyfriend spoke to a few of his coworkers and was told to get a quote from Tire Outfitters. My boyfriend went over what possibly needed to be repaired and was quoted $2,200. Brought my truck in, Tire Outfitters did their own inspection and found way less wrong with my truck to pass inspection because they are ASE Certified! I paid less than what I was originally quoted and there were no surprises and it was quickly repaired and inspected. Tire Outfitters is professional and trustworthy! Amazing, honest, and friendly service! I called around different shops and these guys had the most reasonable prices. I too read reviews on them, and was sold. I needed a blown tire replaced and told them what had happened. It only took them a total of about a 15 minutes to fully inspect for collateral damage and to put the tire on. I also needed an alignment done, but since everything was in specification, they didn't even charge me for it! They also gave me a copy of the alignment sheet they look at, and explained to me everything that was on the page. Definitely going back from now on! read more

If not, a 70 dollar tire can cost you 115 before the hidden costs hit you in the kisser. Took over 2 hours as well and it wasn't even busy. I had bookmarked this place after reading all their reviews for when I needed tires or some repair work. The time finally came today as I dropped off my truck for some brake work and new tires. They called and said the part I thought was broken was not after all and they suggested I take it back to the last place that installed the part "because it's probably still under warranty". Guess what...they were right and I'm now getting that issue fixed, and for free or low cost from the other shop who installed a defective power steering pump. TIre Outfitters could have taken advantage and they didn't. That says it all folks. Instant cred and where I'm taking my cars from now on. I had my vehicle inspected here two weeks ago and "failed" because my exhaust system was "leaking." Upon asking a few questions and for a rough estimate, I was denied information and told I would have to make an appt to come back to get it fixed. I was also given a useless piece of paper that was supposed to demonstrate the problem. I made an APPT elsewhere to have this "problem" looked into and it turned out my exhaust system is PERFECTLY FINE and passed re-inspection with flying colors. read more

I had to replace all 4 tires on my SUV as it barely passed inspection - and moving into our summer rains it just wasn't going to be safe. I also commute 50 miles each way and had to bite the bullet to get this done. Tire Outfitters were the lowest around and didn't charge me for "extra" needs...it was all included in one easy price. The tires they originally gave me a quote on were promised to someone else, so they had a comparable set waiting for me when I arrived first thing in the morning AND they came in under the quoted price. They were fast at getting everything taken care of and offer tire rotation for the life of the tires. I'll be going there for all my service needs from now on.
