Several years ago, after another shop butchered a brake job and told us the car would need thousands of dollars in additional work, we took the car to Autoserve. They corrected the butchered brake job, inspected the car and told us that none of the additional work the other shop claimed the car required, needed to be done. Since then Autoserve has been the only shop we will go to. They worked wonders with our SAAB, have affected quick and correct repairs on our other vehicles, and have never given us cause to question their recommendations. This is not the place for me. I took my car in for a check engine light and asked for the safety inspection while there. I was failed on the safety inspection for a check engine light. Who does this? I was also told i needed new tires and rear brake pads. I asked for the report and it stated that the tires need to be replaced soon and the rear brake pads were at 5mm. Because I have done a lot of my own work in the past I knew my rear brake pads were not that old. I would caution anyone going here to ask for any report and question details about repairs. At one time this place was great as they did a great job on my cars without costing me an arm and a leg. They are and still are very courteous, but something terribly went wrong. I took my car in for yearly inspections and maintenance about three weeks ago. I told them to check everything while they are at it: fluids, lights, tires, and all. They later called and gave me a list of what needed to be done. $3,000 of things and labor!! I fell through the floor. Having trusted their good work and believed their honesty in the past, I thought this should do it for a long while. So all was fixed! So I thought... A light blinked on and after checking what I can do, I bought it in to have it checked. I was given a list of things "wrong" with it that should have been checked before, including the fluids as I asked, and they want another $3,000!!! I am fuming!! I expected the jobs done at the last $3,000 job! I had them fix one immediate small job and they gave me the quote for it. I came in to pay what they quoted me and I was charged more than twice the amount they said! I don't know what has happened to this place I thought was so good but I am extremely disappointed and sad to give a poor review. They were such nice people with reasonable pricing and a through trusting job done without worrying about coming in with another major pricy job, especially on a car that is not driven much! Something is not adding up there I hate to say. I may be elderly but I am certainly not rich by any means. read more

This is hands down the best place I have brought a vehicle to. My 2010 GMC was in rough shape with several issues. The virtual inspection program and the customer service are beyond reproach. Having been taken advantage of by a few other shops, it was truly a God Send to be referred here. My vehicle runs better than when it rolled off the sales lot. Had I not found this shop I would have been down a vehicle looking for a replacement which was not in the cards right now. This use to be my go to place. The last experience I had with them, I am not too sure if they still will be. My tire went flat and I asked them to fix that and give me an oil change. They were prompt and took care of me the next day. When I went to pick up, the gentleman at the counter handed me a bill for $700 and I almost went into shock (over one tire and a oil change.) He then went to explain that the bill was just a quote. I don't think they should try to upsell customers in that fashion. I just wanted to pay for my repairs, which I also found to be kind of high for what I had done. I am always paranoid that mechanics try to upsell me as a woman. I have had many situations where mechanic shops made me feel like that. I think it is okay to let customers know that their car may need additional repairs, but they should not roll it into the actual bill. read more

If you have no options go here. After my normal inspection station I had been using for 8 years closed I was referred here. I got there first thing at 8 am Saturday morning and was asked if I was going to wait. I was given a "that's fine just know it won't be done until about 1030". Well I had no choice my 18 month old was still at home in bed and I was not within walking distance. 830 my husband is able to pick me up. I get in the house and 5 minutes later get a call that "Since we realized it was a 2016 we were able to get it in quicker". Really the moment I leave? Due to an issue I had with a company who worked on my car before it failed so I failed. I was told to just swing back and it could be checked quick and I would be on my way. Even if it was close to closing I could call and let them know I was running close and they would help me out. I thought that was nice and was willing to look past the earlier time estimate Take it today in today and talk to a guy in the shop and explain what happened. He was nice and said "sure just let them know inside and I will look at it for you". So I drag my child out of the car and in there and the guy looks at me like I have 2 heads when I recount me coming on Saturday and him saying to bring it back. I get "that's fine but they are at lunch now so yea come back at 130". At this point I am just angry and my child is exhausted so I turn to leave and he feeds it "did you not give us a call" REALLY??? This shop may be great but this counter guy who just sits there is a bad representation. Not a good experience. Pulled in to get a plug in a tire. 30 minutes no problem. you can't park there or the either, by the time I parked tire and rim ruined 600.00. I do NOT recommend these guys - and especially I caution any woman to avoid this place and find another mechanic. I asked them to estimate and fix 3 problems: 2 with my Air Conditioner and one with my oil light. $500 later, none of the problems were fixed. In the process I was treated with condescending attitudes, for example: My A/C causes a loud clicking in the dashboard. It's also leaking, somewhere, because every summer I replace the freon, and 3 weeks later I have no AC again. I asked Justin to find and fix the source of the AC clicking, not just the freon. Justin promptly waved his hand at me as if to wave me off, and dismissed the clicking as "part of the A/C issue; if we fix the freon the clicking won't happen". I didn't appreciate the point being dismissed. I also didn't appreciate his failure to integrate the fact that I just told him - I have tried the freon fix and it has not worked. Sure enough - they fixed the freon, but not the clicking and guess what - 3 DAYS later, no AC again. But they were happy to take my money anyway. As SOON as I put the key in the ignition - the clicking was loudly audible. I ran back into the shop. "We didn't hear any clicking, we checked." So I said, "I just turned the ignition key - I even didn't touch the A/C." "Well we didn't hear it." (Honestly, I don't care about the past - it's clicking again - Right Now.) "Come Listen!" I said, frustrated. "Hold on, the lead tech is going now to see it." So then I joined (the lead tech?) Jim at my car, who told me, "Oh, I hear it now. I didn't hear it before." I said, "I gave explicit instruction about the dial position and asked you guys to check this out. This is a consistent issue." Jim deflected my point and said, "It's probably an actuator. I will need to see if we can even get that part. Then we'll have to take the dashboard apart to find and fix it." What? "Wait a minute," I said, "How will that work? I just paid $500 under the understanding this issue would be fixed. Is that going to cost me more money now?" "Well it's a Different issue," Jim replied. Between the incompetence, dismissive and condescending treatment, and taking my money giving me nothing fixed, I Warn you AVOID these guys like the plague. --- Update --- I had posted a review on this in Angie's List in August of last year (2014). I couldn't afford to do anything more with it, because they took my money already. This summer I'm driving with no AC thanks to these guys, and it reminded me I had not posted this on Yelp. Took my 2011 Ford F-150 there for an inspection and a popped brake line on the right front caliper. 6 months ago I had new calipers and rotors installed on the front. I received a repair quote of $3800 just for brakes and a tail pipe from behind the converter back and and inspection. Ridiculous price. Save your money and get to someone that won't rip you off. I highly recommend Auto Serv- they have helped me out of many a tight squeeze, are very conscious and try to do things as inexpensively as possible while still doing a good job. They are always friendly, courteous and explain things thoroughly so you can understand the problem. They helped me out with a Toyota dealer issue and fixed my air conditioning for less than half the dealer quote. AC has worked great. They have many loyal customers, myself being one, I would not consider going anywhere else. It is independently owned and operated and you can tell they take pride in the business and their work. I came to you all once to help with an inspection sticker and had some issues with my car. I got them rectified and came back when you told me you could give me a sticker. I get there and you tell me that you don't have enough time to inspect my car. I'm very disappointed in your customer service. I don't recommend you to anyone. Wow, I went by Autoserv yesterday with a blown tire. I walked up to the garage with the tire/rim and asked if they could change this one blown tire so I could go to work tomorrow (now today) and without hesitation they said maybe tomorrow. Surprised, I said nothing and walked back to the truck and the manager came after me and asked if I wanted to make an appointment for Wednesday or Thursday and again I told him I needed the tire fixed today so I can go to work tomorrow. He said oh well, not today. I will say, their bays where about half full, and it did not look very busy from what I could see, but maybe I missed something. The next place I went to was just a mechanic garage (Bruce's), and they looked busy but at least they still tried to help, and looked all around for perhaps a used tire (they did not have a new one) to just get me through that would fit, but had none, so they recommended I go to the Tire Shop in Ranson right on the circle. Cindy at the Tire Shop was great, she found a tire and her husband mounted and balanced it for a very reasonable price! This is the LAST TIME I will try Autoserv! The last time they tried to sell me some unnecessary front end work when I was trying to get an inspection. That time I was smart enough to get a second opinion who showed me that they were just trying to get some extra work. I still have not had to replace the tie rod they said was bad. You get a nice hometown feel with the staff. One staff member went to Broad Run Highschool in Ashburn, VA, which is where I graduated from. Worst place ever to get your car inspected. All they want is your money! Last year I got my car inspected there and it failed. I graciously accepted the rejection sticker without an argument and spent over 2k getting the issue fixed by a different company that then passed my car for it's inspection. I go back to these idiots a year later and they try to tell me the same thing is wrong with my car that they claimed last year! I know for a fact that my struts and shocks didn't go bad within a year after I got them replaced! This shop can go shove it! read more

Do not trust this place. If they think they can take advantage of you, they will. I went here for an auto inspection (Jan. 2015) and was failed for some damage on my bumpers and tires that were "about to go". I had used them the year before and my bumpers passed, the damage has been the same for over 2 and a half years. When I asked why my bumpers passed the year before, no answer. Also the year before they said my tires were bad and I had them all replaced. I have hardly driven this past year and my tires even look new still. I will never go back here. read more

I have had several repairs done here, and each time they have done a fine job. I have also had inspections and oil changes and there has never been any attempt to gouge for extra repairs, just straight forward work. Once I had a flat tire, and called them just before closing on the weekend, they said if you can get here before closing we'll fix it. I hurried and got the tire off and got it to them for repair just a couple minutes before closing. They stayed late to fix it and didn't even charge me! I never do this. Except now. My daughter just had her truck inspection done. Only minutes after leaving the WHEEL FLIES OFF! Really it's the front wheel. This is due to the nuts were not tighten. NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO THROW AWAY...so got an engine light and a severe stutter one morning... dropped the car off at their shop and asked for them to take a look and let me know what was wrong. they call back and tell me that i had an engine misfire from one of my ignition coils. all well and good so far, until, 100 dollars for the diagnostic (are you kidding me), 290 to replace 1 ignition coil... 800 to replace all 3 ignition coils, AND they don't take th diagnostic fee off if you do the work there like most shops do. So i looked into it, baught 3 ignition coils from autozone (with lifetime waranty) for 250 dollars, and had them swapped out in under 10 minutes... what a rip off... you guys tried to charge me 550 dollars to do 10 minutes of work. I have minimal experience doing my own work on my car and had it done in 10 minutes. I'll never take my car to your shop again, and i'll make sure to tell everyone i know never to bring their car to your shop. read more
