All I was looking for with someone to adjust the carburetor on my motorcycle. He refused to work on older motorcycles.

Adam is my go-to guy here and yes, I will buy another ATV for these two reasons: Military discount and Adam McGuinn.

When you walk in the door, there are always sales reps there to greet you (of course) but they aren't overly stalkerish when you look around at bikes. Specifically, the parts department employees rock! There has always been someone available to help me when needed and they know their stuff quite well. I've always gotten good answers from them. The parts manager, Robin, is really nice and really helped me out recently with a problem I had with some parts I got from them. I feel like he really went out of his way to help me and I truly appreciate it. The location is really convenient and the store is always neat and organized. Inventory is usually good and turnaround time on orders is pretty standard compared to other dealers I have used. The last part I ordered took three days which wasn't bad. It would probably be quicker to order online but then you can't take advantage of Whitt's rewards program so the wait is worth it for big stuff. Their rewards program is pretty standard. A point per buck and the rate increases as you build points. Military gets 2x points which is greatly appreciated! I always look forward to stopping here for parts and I'm quite sure my next bike purchase will be from Whitt's!

Most of the other bike shops I stepped foot in managed to mansplain me right back out the door. Laurel was patient and helpful as I tried on literally every pair of pants (men and women) in the showroom. The crew there was also super gracious in helping me with some basic questions about my new bike. Love my new riding pants and gloves. Really looking forward to coming back to take a basic maintenance class, learn more about fixing my bike up myself, and meeting more riders.

Dunn Lewis isn't just a great store for gear and motorcycle supplies--it's a hub of the DC moto…read morescene. It's also a great place to learn more about your machine, make repairs, and customize. Gear selection is limited to make finding what you want easy. The shop is very spacious to keep the space feeling more like a hangout than a warehouse for merchandise. A lot of the brands are not distributed by any other brick and mortar shop in the area (Saint comes to mind), and all are high quality and stuff you would actually buy. There is also a selection of supplies, which is targeted for members if the motorcycle club. They stock 15-50 boxer oil which is hard to find to support the boxer owners that are members. This evolving support is part of what makes membership valuable. Which brings us to membership. Half of the space is a members only garage which is available by signing up for one of a few membership tiers. Dues vary with access: higher tiers cost more and give you more time to make use if the garage space, use the wide assortment of shop tools, and in a few cases give access to specialized machinery. Classes that are made available to the public are offered to members at a discounted rate. It's common for 2-3 different projects being worked on, and collaboration is natural. The DC moto scene is small but welcoming, and Dunn Lewis is definitely a good place to connect. They offer events and rides that are available for anyone, and it would be hard not to get involved with DC moto clubs like dirt church if you hang around the shop. Mason and Laurel who run the shop are always available for tips on what's happening around the city and are a huge part of what make DLMC worth supporting. There's also great food and bars on the same block. Worth mentioning. As far as what could be better: it's a new space and features are growing. So if it doesn't have everything you need, you might have to wait for them to bring it in. But you only need to make the suggestion and it's something you'll probably see in the future. All moto and scooter riders are welcome. More than worth a look.
