Breakfast bowl
Ceci L.

We had brunch at this local eatery and tap house. Upon arrival, grab a menu, choose a seat, order and pay at the counter and your order will be brought to your table. It's very spacious inside and ideal for big groups. I was impressed by the service. The manager came by a few times to check on us and the chef even came by to say hi and clear our plates. Chicken & waffles: this is their signature dish and it's Instagram-worthy. The dish is dripping with hollandaise sauce and the chicken is nice and crispy. To make it healthier, it comes with a side of fruit. Breakfast bowl: this bowl tasted very healthy but was also delicious. I really liked the thick slices of mushroom. The creamy richness and chewiness of the halloumi paired well with the veggies.

Dog friendly patio

Ambiance- really enjoyed the space, spacious, chill. Dog friendly (in the patio) Service- order at the counter and food gets delivered to your table. The servers were all really nice and helpful. Food- Pemberton Salad - was delicious! Grant platter for two + 2 sides - volume was equivalent to its value CAD $82. Quality of bbq- mediocre. Brisket was good. I really enjoyed the beans and sides. Fried chicken 3 stars. The ribs and pulled pork were not my style. Drinks- appreciate the variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic.

O to the M to the G What is not to love ? The warm olives, the soups, Sammie's that will make a man want to marry the chef. The craft beers, the cool staff, great service and casual vibe make this place shine. But the crown jewel is the Grant's Platter - do not hesitate and bring your loose pants, saddlebags and appetites. Why do people eat anywhere else in Whistler?

Delicious fried chicken sandwich with a side of brisket and hot sauce

Hit up Hunter Gather in Whistler and ordered the fried chicken sandwich with a side of beef brisket & holy smoke, that brisket was absolutely amazing, so tender it basically surrendered on contact. The chicken was crispy perfection, no complaints there either. If you're hunting for a casual spot with killer BBQ that doesn't make your wallet cry uncle, this is your prey. I'll be back to "gather" more calories soon!

everything was amazing. I ordered egg Benedict with salmon and a cup of coffee. There were a few options for coffee but there were so many options for food. You should try this restaurant . Thank you very much

Chicken shawarma and side salad

If you want a healthy, quick, and delicious meal in a low key setting in Whistler, Hunter Gather is the perfect spot! I got a chicken shawarma, along with a side salad. The chicken shawarma was wrapped together with fresh ingredients: pickled red onions, hummus, arugula, and tabouli. The service was also fantastic - the staff were attentive, took my order quickly, and came by regularly to fill up my water.

We wanted dinner but didn't want to walk very far from our Airbnb and Hunter Gather was right across the street. Score! No wait to get seated. It's a walk up (after you've been seated). We chose the pemberton bowl, brisket sandwich with the soup of the day (ginger carrot) and some drinks. The salad came out first - I loved all the components and dressing but wished the pemberton potatoes were served warm, not cold. The brisket meat melted in your mouth and the carrot ginger soup was a really nice flavor profile, surprise for us as we haven't had that soup before. Staff was quick and bussed tables after eating. Super lovely vibe, hockey was on, lots of jubilant conversations!

Mushrooms and goat cheese

Hunter Gather exceeded our expectations! We came on a Wednesday morning for late breakfast and found a seat outside on the patio. Ordered at the counter, and our food was out almost right away! Our server was very friendly and checked in on us frequently. The dishes were stunning!! I got the goat cheese and mushrooms with potatoes. They were very generous with the mushrooms and the dish was so well balanced! My group also got the chicken and waffles and the bacon benny and loved it! Would 100% go again!

This place was an absolute treat for my taste buds. Their smoked salmon and Chinook salmon are, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. The smoked salmon was perfectly balanced, with a rich, smoky flavor that didn't overpower the delicate, buttery texture of the fish. Each bite melted in my mouth, delivering that perfect blend of savory and subtle sweetness that only expertly smoked salmon can achieve. The Chinook salmon was equally outstanding! Cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the fish really shone through. Paired with their rustic sides, a beer and a really nice outdoor patio with mountain vibes, this was a meal I won't soon forget. Hunter Gather is a must-visit in Whistler, offering a truly exceptional experience that highlights the best of local ingredients. Best of all, they are dog friendly!

I tried the below items - Provision egg sandwich (9/10) the fried poached egg was a nice texture and super yummy, but one egg is a bit little - Crispy Parmesan Chicken sandwich (9/10): amazing sandwich and huge portion, but can get a bit heavy after awhile - passion fruit cruffins (7.5/10) very nice pastry to try recommended by the cashier, but definitely super messy to eat - Truffle fries (10/10) MUST GET! - Lavender matcha (9/10) I really appreciate how they were able to minimally sweeten my matcha because I just like a tiny hint of sweetness - matcha latte (9/10) - chicken salad sandwich (8/10) very refreshing - blueberry sweet cream cold brew (8/10) refreshing and not too sweet Highly recommend this place for the food but it's always packed. Both times we were able to get a table but the tables are so crowded.

Eventually one opened up outside. But there were quite a few parties just chilling at the tables without food or drink. This could be managed a bit better for guests already with food. I tried the maple matcha. I didn't see a regular one. But i Think I would prefer a non sweetened version. I'm site they have it. Otherwise it was super tasty. I also tried the provisions breakfast sandwich with a crispy poached egg. It should come with a warning label because the yolk really pops and can create quite a mess. We also enjoyed a morning bun. It's citrusy, sweet, crunchy, perf morning treat! Overall if we hadn't hit the rush it would have been a perfect experience.

It was pretty empty when we went around 1:30 and we didn't need to wait at all. Inside was pretty quiet as well. We noticed that the place seems like it got renovated; however, that's not all that changed. The prices of the crepes were so much more expensive than what we remembered. I ordered a smoked salmon crepe for $33. Don't think I've been so disappointed in a crepe before. The buckwheat crepe had a really bad chalky/gritty taste that stayed in my mouth long after the meal, even after drinking a lot of water. The texture of the crepe overpowered even the taste of the smoked salmon. For $33, there also wasn't a lot of smoked salmon inside the crepe, which is quite disappointing. Not sure if it's because we came for lunch instead of their breakfast menu; I feel like a shot for better food might be to come in the morning instead of in the afternoon.

Others have said they aren't traditional Aussie pies and I get that if that is your expectation. I always try to appreciate the cafe for their take on the food items. Peaked Pies didn't disappoint. It is a small spot with just a few tables outside and a few tables inside. The eatery gets pretty busy so we felt lucky to get a table inside. They have a lot of choices and we settled on the ones we wanted to try. I went with the veggie pie and added the mushy style peas, mashed potatoes and gravy to the top. Mr. B decided on the Kangaroo pie after talking to the staff. He was a little leary of where the Kangaroo came from, but we were told there is a farm in British Columbia that raises them, so he wanted to try something he had never had. Please see the note below about the kangaroo. There is a correction. The pies came out and were quite large, but we must have been hungry and they were scrumptious we finished them off. Let's start with the veggie pie. It was filled with veggies, carrots, potatoes, onion, corn, celery and yams. The sauce is a coconut milk based sauce and was creamy. The Hopper, with ground kangaroo was lovely. The pie is filled with ground kangaroo, and I mean ground, it was fine meat and stuffed full with a Cabernet Merlot Balsamic Reduction that balanced the sweetness of the meat. The service was great, the staff was nice, and helpful. Great choice. NOTE: I received a correction from the owner of Peaked Pies after posting this review. The Kangaroo is not sourced from British Columbia as we were told. While the food was excellent this was disappointing to hear. Mr. B specifically asked where the kangaroo was sourced as he didn't want frozen and would have ordered something else. I wanted to let you all know I was wrong as we were given inaccurate information from the staff.

We also wanted to try the kangaroo (The Hopper) and spinach & ricotta roll, but will need to return for those. The butter chicken and beef curry looked tempting, too. Extra hungry? Add a topping of mashed potatoes, mushed peas and gravy to your pie! Perfect spot to grab a warm meal after being out in the cold, or even just a quick bite while walking through the village.
