    Halo halo
    Ainsley E.

Okay this place is weird. Walked in and up to a kiosk, only to realize I could sit down and order at a table with a QR code. It's empty except for one group of people who eventually leave. At no point do I interact with a human. I order a spam musubi and a halo halo. Eventually a robot wheels out with my spam musubi. Ok, I'm familiar with the restaurant robots but it was still a surprise. Several minutes later the bartender comes over with my halo halo. Nice dude. Now for the food: spam musubi was super mid. Not much flavor despite Spam being inherently salty and delicious? The Halo Halo is on me. Never had one before, but I didn't like it. I thought it would be right up my alley because I'm a huge fan of boba and silly extra drinks like that. Consumed maybe 1/3 of it and promptly left. By that point I was...$19 in the hole for a very subpar experience overall. Oh and the music was LOUD and awful. A weird butt rock and pop mix, but a country song came on and that's finally what drove me out.

    Adobo wings

I ordered the adobo wings and french fries around 10pm at night. I was in the mood for flavorful wings, I wasn't so impressed with the wings and fries. The fries were stale , they tasted like they had been left out all day. The adobo wings were okay but not flavorful, I think more seasoning is needed or some salt. As well as some sauce on the side. The service was quick and the ambiance was nice. If you are near the downtown and want some wings I would recommend to try their other saucy wings !

Lumpia length 2 inches n uncooked

The lumpia was a complete joke I got the beef n it is 2 inches long! How do you manage not to cook it all the way is mind boggling 5 small pieces 2$ each absolute Ripoff n the place is not that clean n quite outdated just a heads up!

Friendly | Good lumpia $$ We did take-out for lunch here after visiting OMSI. I was excited to try a Filipino place in Portland! Their menu looks great. I immediately decided on ordering the pancit bowl, Shanghai lumpia, and spam musubis. They were out of Shanghai lumpia because they're popular, so we went with pork lumpia. The person who greeted my husband is very friendly, maybe the owner. My kids like the musubis. The lumpia was devoured quickly. Delicious! However, the pancit bowl was underwhelming for me. I love that they put a lot of veggie ingredients unlike most places relying heavily on the rice noodle, but the taste felt like it was missing something. I'm not quite sure what to suggest either, but I also didn't care for the whole peppercorn when I got a bite of it. The price is a little expensive ($17) for the bowl, in my opinion. I have to note that I tend to compare every Filipino restaurant with my grandmother's cooking. I'm still interested in coming back to try other food and drinks though. It's nice it's located close to the university. Street parking. Outdoor seating available.

Silog plate with pork adobo and fried spam

I stopped in here for brunch because I saw that they were serving Filipino food. I ordered their silog plate with pork adobo and fried spam as my 2 meat choices. I wanted their longanisa sausage instead of spam, but unfortunately, they were out. Although it was a bit pricey, the food was good and the portion size was good. They looked to be a small operation with a very friendly staff. I wouldn't mind coming back here if I'm ever in the area again.

lumpia, deluxe rice bowl, silog plate (i think)

HunnyBeez gives out pretty hefty portion sizes so by the end of the meal, I was full. I had a deluxe bowl with tocino and loved every bite. The lumpia was also pretty good too. I came somewhat late, but maybe a few hours before closing and it was pretty empty, not too many people there. Staff was pretty friendly. The place is a bit small however. Since I go to school at PSU, I'd love to come back and try other meals here during my lunch breaks.

This place was recommended by a friend who had been there before! We are so glad she did! The food was AMAZING and the service was equally great! We will be back!

HunnyBeez is a fusion restaurant which offers some Filipino food and we stopped in out of curiosity. We met with one of the co-owners who shared their restaurant story with us. Since we already had lunch, we decided to give their Shanghai Lumpia ($12) and their Halo Halo ($12) a try. The lumpia was excellent! It was super crispy with well seasoned meat filling. We made sure to praise it to the chef. As for the Halo Halo, I have never paid more than $10 for Halo Halo ever in my life until now, but I get that we are living in very different times. That being said, this Halo Halo was made just the way I like it...topped with ube ice cream and with no corn/nuts... plus it was huge! This is a great spot for a hearty meal and dessert.

    Fries made from SPAM!

Hunny Beez is my local spot when I'm too tired or busy to cook, have nothing in the fridge or they have a special I need to try. I've had most of the menu throughout the last year. The specials are truly my favorites. The lasagna and Filipino spaghetti blew my mind. Recently, during burger week the SPAM fries made my day. When I get sick, the Chicken Tinola Soup helps with the healing process. If I'm in need of a cookie, the ube chocolate is my go to. Super easy to order online. The staff is incredibly friendly. See you soon Hunny Beez!

I had a nice lunch here. I work really close by and it was nice to enjoy a home-style meal. Now, I will always favor my inay's cooking of course, but my inay wasn't here. The food is good, and it came out almost as quickly as I ordered it. My only gripe is that it didn't come with a scoop of rice. At my house, it's not a meal unless you eat it with rice (even if the dish is made of rice noodles). The portion is generous and the food tastes good. Seating is a little cramped for us who are not as slender as others. Staff is friendly. I ordered pancit bihon w/ bistek.

Maybe Hunnybeez on SW Park Ave isn't that Instagrammable from the outside- but they probably know a thing or two about what they're doing in the kitchen and outside of that. This was a nice spot to grab some tea drinks and bring to my daughter's apartment about a block away. The space is dim and cozy with several tables and hi-stools by the window. Soak up the Filipino music as you're dining in or just waiting for your order. I ordered a "Thai Ice Tea AND a Lychee Lemonade- 'Mojito' tea"- but somehow, they understood I wanted both flavors together¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Whipped out my card again to buy the Mojito. I also ordered the Veg Lumpia and those tasted as if they were left in the fryer far too long and soaked up wayyy too much oil. I get they're fried to begin with- but the oil on the lumpias, the plate and our fingers, was dreadful. Service was fantastic and dispite my Thai Iced Tea tasting like Lychee, our to-go beverages were fantastic. I'm sure the Filipino food here is on point and the rating says it all, as Hunnybeez is definitely a local spot close to people's hearts.

The food was delicious! The server and the cooks were also very sweet! The ambiance of this place is so comfy and safe! It was my first time trying filipino cuisine, i had my boyfriend pick out these dishes and i would definitely recommend them!

The crab fried rice is a fan favorite for good reason--it's flavorful, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. My personal favorites are the samosas and the roasted cauliflower, both of which are full of amazing spices and prepared with so much care. What really makes Nom Nom stand out, though, is the people behind it. The owners and chefs are genuinely welcoming and passionate about what they do, creating an atmosphere that feels just as memorable as the food itself. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, you're always treated like family. Great food, wonderful people, and a warm, inviting experience make Nom Nom one of my favorite places to eat.

But even worse, they were so dry that it felt like it was heated at 400° for 30 minutes. And for $16 that's horrific, I would say that this is like the wings you would find at a dive bar at 11 PM with no choices, and they would probably only charge you about $8 to $10. The Momo was just simply not good. We got the chili chicken and they were extremely small, over fried, and the sauce taste just like a store-bought, sweet thai chili sauce Lastly, we got the nacho for nacho week and oh my God was that a disappointment as well. It came out extremely cold, and it might be intended to serve not hot, but this was like straight out of the fridge cold. If you look at the pictures they have on the nacho week website, it looked nothing like it. It was a disgrace as it was probably 90% nacho in 10% everything else. If you split up the toppings, it would only need about four or five chips before you've exhausted all the toppings that came with it. Then you're left with 90% of just tortilla chips. I don't know how this place got so many good reviews but either this is a really bad day, but we got three separate dishes that were all bad, but I'm inclined to think that it's just simply bad.

Walked in and was pretty surprised there was no one around. (Head-scratch) OK, I'll try them anyways. No one at the counter either. I checked out the menu board and just waited, np. Out comes, possibly the owner or cook, whom was helpful about the types of wings and sauces but that was about it with the interaction. I guess helpful enough, even thought I've never been here. So I went with the 12-piece Bone-in Wing Combo (@ $29.49), which also comes with fries and coleslaw. The sauces I chose were the galbi and hot honey mustard as recommended. At first, I wasn't sure which wings were which, meaning they both almost looked the same. But obviously the hot honey mustard was lighter in color versus the galbi. The wings were crispy and excellent, but a tad bit over saucy. I wish I had more crisp on the outside. Maybe I'll ask for sauce on the side next time. Also, the big box of Crinkle Fries were decent, but I thought the coleslaw for some reason was very peppery. I didn't understand why. I guess that's their style of slaw, idk. Overall, I really wanted to love this joint, but I feel that it's just a 3-star kind of place imho. It's the price versus taste versus how hot it was outside. Unfortunately, the place didn't have any a/c on and the tables didn't look as clean as the other older posted pics on yelp. Someday, I'll be back to hopefully upgrade my review, but for now, it is what it is.
