And I mean WAY out there. Like Geneva-ish wineries far. But once you get to the estate, you'll wonder if you're in the right place. You are. Just go to the dining room and nosh on deliciousness. Honestly, I had no idea what to expect from this place. Normally holiday brunches of any kind are pretty average or icky, plus always stressful. Not at Coffee Creek! The food was delicious--way above brunch par for most places. There was so much food, all made from scratch and artfully prepared. The drinks were flowing and the staff didn't let us sit for too long before asking if we'd like refills of both food and drink. After your meal, don't forget to walk around the estate to explore a bit! Thanks, Coffee Creek--you helped us do Mother's Day right!

This was the most crowded of the wineries we visited, and the patios were getting a bit cluttered, as there weren't really trash cans or anybody bussing the tables. I enjoyed the white flight, the Temptation was my favorite, and we shared a fruit and cheese plate with an apple, crackers, bread and a fantastic aged chedder. The apple was served whole, with a steak knife to carve it up yourself, on a Styrofoam plate, so didn't quite match the scenery and overall vibe, and a steak knife is not the right tool to cut a huge honeycrisp apple. So it was a nice snack, but could have been done a little better. FYI - the actual winery is not super accessible - steps up to the front door, the bathrooms are down a flight of stairs, and the outdoor areas for enjoying your wine are mostly accessed by stairs as well.

They have fun with the church theme with a cardboard cut out nun you can take your photo with. Exiting the back of the church you come upon a couple giant flight of stairs that could be a problem for some visitors. These stairs lead to a seating area up on a platform that feels like you are perched on part of a castle overlooking the fields of grapes. I must confess I'm not a wine expert. I enjoyed the flight of dry reds I ordered. My friend ordered the charcuterie board which had a huge wedge of bread and a very tasty cheese we kept begging for more tastes of.

Both of us were very satisfied by our selections. I also enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries that I got from their outdoor grill. It was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed eating it in their outdoor seating area, in a grassy location nestled under the trees. Beautiful setting, with lots of plants and flowers. Our kids went outside and played catch while us adults relaxed and enjoyed the wines, you can see them from the massive windows. The food was wonderful, the goat cheese fondue isn't too rich like a traditional cheese, try it! The hanger steak was so tender and juicy, scallops were not overcooked. Honestly if you are in the area, take a peek at this place and try the local wines. The bottle prices are so fair! Not pretentious and the parking was plenty. For the price, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I received decent pours and enjoyed every kind of wine I received. The dining area was extremely loud and noisy, which made it difficult to have a conversation. Our table was in a small nook of the restaurant overlooking the gift shop, and the space felt cluttered and more like a storage area than a dining area. There was one other table in this area. Compared to the beautiful settings and atmosphere we've experienced at other local wineries, this venue did not impress us. We started with the bruschetta bread and the spinach artichoke dip, and both were very good. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal did not live up to the start. We had stopped at another winery beforehand for drinks and really wished we would have stayed there for dinner instead. There were five of us dining, and none of us left feeling wowed by our meals. I ordered the Gnocchi Brue, which is described as "tender chunks of filet mignon simmered in a Cabernet wine demi-glace with mushrooms and onions, served over potato gnocchi with Gorgonzola cheese." Unfortunately, the meat was very tough and did not seem like filet mignon. I also felt the Gorgonzola cheese in my meal did not complement the dish. The appetizers were the highlight, but overall, the atmosphere, dining experience, and entrées fell short, especially compared to the other wineries we visited in the Geneva area.
