We had such a great time here after having received snooty service at a different local winery. The staff at Baci was so kind and welcoming, they explained the ordering process and showed us around. They offered excellent food and wine recommendations! It was my first time here and loved it!!! It's was a cold, rainy day, so we were limited to the inside, but the outdoor seating and patio looked awesome. We came for lunchtime because they had a full food menu. Plenty to eat for vegetarians and some gluten free options as well. To order food and wine, you go up to the bar. The woman working there was so cheery, friendly, and informative! Although the wine was just okay (typical Ohio wine), the food was excellent! My husband said it was one of the best burgers he's had. This has become our favorite place, not just as a winery but as a restaurant as well. For us there's nothing better in the summer than being able to sit outside and enjoy the patio that looks over the vineyard, inside is fantastic with a fire going in the winter time. The new chef and management have really started talking this place in an amazing direction. Funny enough the Sunday brunch is the best breakfast I've ever had (not what you'd think for a winery). The pizza and all the other food is now some of the best I've ever had. We went to one of the wine dinners as well which was a chef's custom menu for one evening, easily some of the best food I'v ever ever had ever. Mind blowing. This used to be St Joseph's and it has really changed since then. There is wonderful indoor and outdoor space as well as a food menu. We ordered the Cesar salad and the Italian beef sandwich and oh my, that sandwich is delicious. I would literally come back just for that. We also decided to split a bottle of sparking reisling which was nice and refreshing. All of this along with dessert makes this a must stop for us next time we are in the area. read more

Stopped here twice on our weekend trip to Ashtabula. First was for our winery day and I tried 5 different wines. They don't do flights but you can taste what you want for a small fee. Great ambiance especially on a beautiful day with wine on the patio. We also stopped for brunch on Sunday before we headed out. I had the quiche and it was yummy. And the aperol spritz was perfect for a sunny morning on the patio. Service was very attentive. Great winery! read more

I read a lot of mixed reviews but it didn't stop me from having my own experience which I didn't know would even happen. I originally called and received a message that they were closed for remodeling. I was disappointed and this was after I tried to get to the winery two different ways and only to learn that construction had the road closed preventing any traffic. Then when we left Benny Vino's I noticed a different entrance and called after I seen cars. They were opened. My one recommendation is to fix your phone lines, because you can be losing business with that message. We arrived and I had to take my photos like I do at all new establishments that are wineries, distilleries, breweries etc; and to learn they had two amazing areas to take photos. Wow the makeover from St. Joseph was incredible. It doesn't even look like the same place inside and outside. I like how outside they have a bar and a place where it appears fire grilled pizzas are made. They offer a nice area to sit outside near the vineyard. Inside the winery is absolutely amazing and state of the art wood work v/s old school. The server at the bar was very nice and allowed us to sample wine. I asked what wine is from Baci. I wanted to taste what they had and they only had a Dry Rose and Sangiovese for the reds and two whites. My wife tried a couple whites and we settled for a glass of the Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc. They were both really good, the red had fruit forward on the nose and palate. It was a smooth taste, dry but flavor is how that we like it. We purchased a bottle of each. The Sangiovese was $47 which is pricier than normal but it was worth it. The waitress (wish I remembered her name) very sweet and provided us recommendations on places to eat and try. Matter a fact one of the reasons that I wanted to visit here was to try the gwertztraminer which is a favorite white of ours. She said it's not ready yet, wasn't sure what stage it was in. She recommended Harpersfield Winery, she said they have a really good one. She said she grew up in the area and that's her go to at that winery when she wants a gwertztraminer. I highly recommend visiting this place. I can't wait to try the new wines that they release over time. This is a nice place and will be an absolute stop every time we are in the area. They have food and can't wait to come and try the food next time. read more

Hubby and I stopped in about a month ago, the wine was good and the sausage pizza was also good. They used to do slices but I guess they don't do that anymore or weren't on the day we went. The outside area is nice and the service was good. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were friendly and made small chat since they weren't super busy when we went. There are a ton of wineries in the area, I honestly don't know if we would go out of way to come back but if we were driving passed and wanted pizza I would say sure. read more

Baci Winery was on my "must visit" list upon relocating to Northeast Ohio and they did not disappoint! When pulling up to the winery, the large beautiful building was the first thing I noticed. The grounds were picturesque, and so our large party of 10 decided to sit outside. We were seated immediately on a busy day and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We were all pretty hungry from a day of winery hopping, and were happy to see pizza on the menu for the kiddos. This pizza looked and smelled so good, I was jealous I hadn't ordered one myself! The kids quietly devoured them without stopping, so I know it was a winner. Other adults at the table ordered sandwiches that everyone raved about. I have some dietary restrictions that made a lot of the menu hard for me, but this is where I would give the service even higher than a 5 if I could. Upon expressing that I was having a hard time finding something on the menu, our server was quick to customize the charcuterie board to fully accommodate my needs. The board on the menu as-is was too full of sugary things I wouldn't be able to have and I thought the price would have been a bit much for the amount of items I could have had. Without hesitation at all, she came back with a fully customized board with things I could have, and as a customer who often feels like a burden because of dietary needs, this was a breath of fresh air that allowed me to enjoy the day with my family to the fullest. Wine - meh. $13 for a maybe 6 Oz pour of Sangiovese that was a bit thin and sharp. It didn't soften as it was left to open. But they do have cocktails. We just hosted a rehearsal dinner here and they did a magnificent job! This winery GETS customer service! This venue welcomed us and ensured that we had a delightful meal and drinks! They suggested great menu options for our vegetarians and that Butternut Squash Ravioli was just delicious! There were plenty of tasty options for everyone! The staff actually worked with us and were just amazing to deal with. The renovations they have made are just beautiful, with a patio that is so lovely and welcoming. The food was horrible and I was shocked because their menu sounds delicious. Mostly Italian dishes which they completely ruined. The Bolognese was dry and the meat tasted like it had been burned in the kitchen on the bottom of the pan and used anyhow, it just tasted like dog food. We didn't eat the Bolognese. The Calamari was better but a bit greasy. My Butternut Squash Ravioli was too rich and I could only eat half or I would have been sick. Amos and Moses makes a better Butternut Ravioli--btw. Overall, I won't return and I don't recommend this winery. I am sorry to be so critical but bad is bad and we felt that we wasted our money, and left hungry. Wow! What a great new winery! Beautiful setting with tons of seating. The inside is a little small but lots of space on the outside with beautiful views of the vineyard. Small menu as you'd expect at a winery but our prosciutto panini's were absolutely delicious! I had a limoncello spritzer and my husband had a glass of Bella Rosso wine and we both enjoyed our drinks. We will definitely be back as I can imagine how beautiful it will be in the fall. read more

I came here for my friends birthday - due to health reasons, I need wine that is organic and has no sulfites. While I felt silly asking, I needed to know if the wine was organic so I asked the bartender. Not only did the bartender have no idea, she was extremely rude to me and made me feel dumb for asking. She asked me what organic means and then rolled her eyes at me. I then asked for sparkling water and she said we don't serve that here and then blew me off. My boyfriend got a glass of Pinot noir - the first glass had cork floaties it. No worries, it happens. We asked for another glass and the brand new glass also had cork pieces in it. The food was also average at best. The establishment is beautiful but due to my bad experience my first time being here I will not be back and will not recommend it. read more

The staff was incredible rude tonight. They were closing up at 5:15. Never announced last call. When customers asked to purchase one last drink at 5:35. They refused service. They said they had a right to refuse service. One had called and was told on the phone they would serve until 5:45! My friends had a engagement party held here and while the place was amazing and so beautiful, and the staff helping was very nice and helpful. The food was just okay for what i feel like my friends paid for ( you could just tell some of it was sitting for awhile) and while we were enjoying ourselves towards the end, we watched what looked to be someone of importance come and yell at 2 of the young employees while everyone was at the bar, i just found that very unprofessional to hear and watch while at a private event. read more

Not impressed. Panini only had one of two on menu . The appetizer also said missing the two main ingredients which one of them in the other panini had so might have had issues there too. When the appetizer came the-other ingredients substituted too. Also they do not take cash either just in case you not aware. Been to the both very down to earth and high end wineries but if menu limited and they have don't have ingredients wont make it. Why have a menu if don't have the stuff. The setting is lovely! Lots of space and the wine was better than I expected. Buttery Chardonnay is hard to come by in Ashtabula. It was good. The charcuterie plate was also good but way over priced. Those are easy to come by and this one is good but not for the price tag. Others are better and 30% less. The part that gave me the most pause was the staff- all young women, all white with long dark hair in their 20s. Clearly the hiring manage has a type and that is creepy. read more

I really wanted to like this winery based on comments from friends. First, we arrived and waited in the wine service line, which was really slow. While waiting in line, a group of pretentious ladies walked in, exclaimed to the wine bar hostess (whom was busy with the customers ahead of us) and nearly shouted... "We called Nick, we need a table". The wine bar hostess stopped serving and took the pretentious ladies over to a table to get them seated. Really poor customer service unless you know someone I guess. I never did get waited on so we went outside and got a table. We ordered the Cab Sav and 2 slices of their Formaggio e Basilico which is Mozarella, San Marzano and Basil. Clearly the wait staff doesn't know the table layout as we watched her take the two slices to nearly every table in the outdoor seating until finally making our way. She was shocked at where our table was. Really? Finally, there was no basil in the pizza whatsoever. None, nada, zilch. Very disappointing experience. read more

Beautiful building and grounds. More money spent on building instead of wine knowledge. We were willing to pay but they would not let us do a flight or even a taste. How would you know if you even like their wine if you can't even taste it. Staff could not describe the wine either. Been in the wine business for 20+ years and have never heard of this. Most wineries are proud of their wine and encourage you to taste. Bought 2 glasses of mediocre wine. May revisit in the future when they figure it all out. read more

If you are in the Geneva area, make sure you make this new winery a stop on your travels. There are only a few other locations that offer such a balance between quality wine, atmosphere, table service, and upper scale cuisine. I loved the Clean, balanced, well-defined wine. This was our first time at the new space. We wanted to taste a few of the wines. We were charged five dollars for each taste, which amounted to a 1ounce pour,barely enough for both of us to taste. We tried two, a Pinot noir and a merlot. We didn't love either of those and would probably have tried more but the 5.00 per taste was so off putting that we cut our losses and left. We have tasted in Napa, Sonoma, Bordeaux, and Tuscany to name a few and this was as much or more than some world class wineries charge to taste and their pours were more generous. If you want people to buy products you need make it reasonable to try them. There are lots of other wineries in the grand river valley. read more

Woohoo! This is the second place, TODAY, I've been the first to write a review for! I really feel like I deserve, I dunno.....WINE. This used to be St. Joseph Winery, which we were fans of. Not sure the reason for the change. We sat out back because we had dogs with us. Staff came out and asked if they could take pics of our dogs for their website to show they are pet friendly. Haven't seen those pics up on their site yet but I can't wait. If they go up, I'm going to proudly share their website with EVERYONE! The wines were very, very good. We were there memorial Day weekend so it was busy. Beautiful building. Food was good despite running out of some things. What I couldn't get past was the terrible service. It was absolutely not the servers fault. You stand in line at a crowded bar to order your food & drink and have to tip before you even sit down. The servers match your food order to a number on your table. We were a party of 8 with 4 different orders so I give them a little slack. Most of the table was done eating before I ever got my food and that was after I had to ask for it twice. The servers were walking around confused with plates of food asking everyone within earshot if this was their order. Go back to a traditional ordering service so your servers get tipped properly.
