Ambiance was outstanding definitely something to check out. The service was also great, and the quality of the food was on point. They do have a seasonal menu, and at this time it wasn't my favorite of choices. I will be back to try some of the other rotating menu items throughout the year. The Cabernet Franc was very nice.

Made reservations on a Friday night for outdoor dinner seating. About ten minutes after we were seated the waitress told us rain was on the way and they would recommend moving inside (they reserve a separate room indoors for those who made reservation outdoors if it rains - which was really nice). Once seated we met the owner's son (Vince) and had a nice conversation about the history of VW and how it came to fruition. Such an interesting journey and well worth the ask! We ordered the Fire Roasted Red Peppers and Whipped Ricotta dip. Both apps were very good and a nice portion to share. My friend and I ordered the scallops and they were very good. They looked a little smaller than the photos I've seen on here, but good nonetheless. My husband ordered the pork chop and thought it was good, and very thick! Lastly, my friend ordered the Bucatini Piccata and it was tasty!. The chicken was a nice size, but I personally would have preferred it not breaded/fried. Lastly, the best part of our meal was the Croissant Bread Pudding! One of the best desserts I've ever had... And I hardly ever order desserts :-) Later we ran into Vince again and had a nice conversation (Go Bobcats). Very down to earth, and so nice for him to take the time to share more about Vincent William Wine. We will 100% be back and encourage anyone who is happy with their service to spread the word. This family and establishment definitely deserve it!

We stopped at Vincent William Winery for a late lunch in January 2025 before driving back home to Chicago. It was our first visit to the winery, and ended up being the best meal of our entire trip. I rave about it to everyone. The inn and restaurant are absolutely gorgeous--thoughtfully designed, warm, and elegant--and the entire property truly stands out in the Grand River Valley. The setting is stunning: a unique lakefront location with peaceful views that feel more like a boutique estate than a typical winery. Even in winter, the atmosphere was serene and inviting. What really impressed us, though, was the pride the staff takes in the place. We were given a full tour of the property, and it was clear how dedicated and invested they are in ensuring Vincent William Winery succeeds. That level of care shows in every detail. As for the food--wow. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, from the warm, crusty bread with baked brie and preserves to the vibrant house meatballs and beautifully prepared entrées. The pasta was rich and comforting, and the pork chop was perfectly cooked with hearty, flavorful sides. Presentation was as thoughtful as the flavors. The cocktails were equally impressive. The Old Fashioned was balanced, smooth, and among the best I've had at a winery. Their wines were excellent as well, and I cannot wait until they launch a wine club--I'd be ready to sign up. The chef's classes also sound fantastic and would be a no-brainer for us if we lived locally. Truly, we have zero criticisms. Prices felt quite fair for the quality and experience. The property is exceptional, and the staff offers the kind of genuine hospitality that's increasingly rare. Vincent William Winery is a unique lakefront gem, and every time we're in Greater Cleveland, we'll make it a point to return.

    Stunning view at sunset

I absolutely love this place! You absolutely cannot bet the view. It's a beautiful patio setting and there are table right on the water. A perfect place for sunset. We got cocktails (limoncello spritz $12) and they were really good! The food was less expensive than I thought it would be and was decent. They have a good selection of gluten free items including flatbread! There isn't really any service, you order at the counter, but the employees behind the counter were very nice and helpful. I 100% recommend going here.

Absolutely beautiful location inside and out. We opted to sit outside for the lake view but the decor inside is warm and welcoming as well. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, substituting GF flatbread so I could enjoy the baked brie, which was a real treat. My only criticism is that the compote was a bit bland and could have used a bit of acid and/or the addition of some herbs from their garden. I really appreciate that you can have leisurely tastings right at your table. Very good wines, as well as full bar options for non-wine drinkers

Wonderful Friday evening dinner here! The ambiance is excellent! Food was delicious and service was on point!! Mike was very gracious to wait on us! We loved dining here!

Amazing views... really sweet spot. Hmmmmm... I had the vegetarian burger (server said it was "homemade"), well it was your typical Morningstar farms spicy black bean burger... so for $16 that's a hard pass for me. Also- chips did have a truffle dust but also not homemade. My friend had the short ribs- definitely needed some gravy- and the bread pudding was delicious but the pricing ($100 for lunch)... would not recommend. Sorry, but the service was a+

    Bucatini Picatta - YUM

The food is to die for ! I had the Bucatini Piccata and it was the best I've ever had. We were not staying at the winery, so we could not make reservations. However, they have tables that are first come first served for people that aren't lodging there. We arrived at 5 on a Friday night and were seated within 5 minutes. Will definitely be back !!!!

    Entrance at Christmas

Very nicely decorated for Christmas. Were seated in Lake room with window on Lake Erie and patio. Got the Irish Old fashioned and Lemoncillo for cocktail, both excellent. For dinner had marinated pork chop, mashed potatoes and Brussel sprout which really hit the spot, excellent. My wife had Cavatelli and meatball which satisfy her with a takehome as well I also had a glass of local Reisling wine which was good For desert the bread pudding and gelato were excellent. The service was good as we were in no hurry Excellent night , we will be back

My group definitely loved Vincent William Winery. I think the ambiance was the big thing for us - they have a beautiful lakeside patio, with comfy seating and great views of the sunset. I will say, that I'm not really a wine connoisseur, and the per glass price here is generally my bottle price ($15 - 20). It's definitely worth it for the experience. It's just beautiful and everyone was really friendly. People around us gave us lots of recommendations for other places and restaurants to try!

Comfy seating, tasty wine, and a fantastic view

I'm usually reluctant to give a place 5 stars after only visiting it once. But Vincent William Wine was so beautiful its hard not go. I've never been to Napa Valley, but I imagine this is what it feels like! Grabbing a glass of wine, sitting on their beautiful patio over the lake, next to a stunning mansion and a rows of grapes growing. It really is a fantastic experience. I can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings while watching the boats go by on the lake.

A repeat is needed for many reasons: 1. Honestly, it's near/on the lake and I made my reservations a little too late therefore too dark to see anything. Driving up to the mansion was a sight to see though. The building itself is beautiful. Pictured. Only critique is the host stand was an awkward distance away from the door i entered. But maybe intentional? 2. DINNER: Delightful. A decent variety that anyone can pick from. I had the lamb with brussel sprouts and apple. My friend had scallops and truffle risotto. Both were excellent. My only negative comment is that my Brussels would have been better if crispy and not have so many huge chunks of apple. 3. Dessert: So amazing. I love bread pudding but this is top of my list. I couldn't stop eating it. 4. WINE: unfortunately, due to weather, could only try 1 but their chardonnay was pretty average to those I've gotten from wineries around this area. 5. Service: super attentive and kind. Convincing as well. I almost never get dessert but she was definitely able to persuade me. Enjoy and cheers!

    Are nice jeans okay?

Definitely. When we were last there, we saw a wide range of outfits, from “fancy” (it was the weekend of the Kentucky Derby) to “silly” (same 😂) to casual. I wore jeans and I felt just right but it’s certainly a place you can dress up if you’re… Read more

We are always so inspired here! We very nearly named our daughter (expecting soon) Harper to honor this wonderful house and its history (we aren't, but maybe our next one). We look forward to the clean rooms, and of course the scrumptious breakfast! The owners/caretakers are fabulous hosts. Sitting in the tower overlooking the vineyards is an experience like no other. The owners were very welcoming and accommodated our early arrival, greeting us kindly and making sure we could get settled in right away. The property has a nostalgic, "grandmother's house" feel. We stayed in the Robert Harper Suite, one of three units, which featured a loft that we especially enjoyed. The separate kitchen area was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like a coffee pot and refrigerator, and storage space. The four-seat dining table was a nice touch. Each room includes a hot tub for two, which had plenty of hot water throughout our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying--an assortment of fruit, pastries, muffins, fresh-baked bread, homemade granola, an fresh omelet for each guest. Sue is a good cook. It was delivered by 7:30 a.m., and guests served themselves. The dining room fits three couples, but guest rooms feature space to eat privately. During our stay, two couples who traveled together ate together, while we enjoyed breakfast privately in our suite. Housekeeping was attentive as our room was refreshed with clean towels and trash removal daily, even without requesting it. Small details stood out, like many nightlights placed in hallways and stairwells--especially helpful when going up to the loft. Many Grandma's heritage antiques, flowers and crafts of a gone by era are spread throughout the property. Only one downside; temperature control. The house was set on air conditioning, and while the days were pleasant, the evenings turned chilly (dropping below 40°F), and then it rained, bringing even more cool. The in-room fireplace heater wouldn't turn on, and unlike a hotel, the thermostat can't be adjusted per room. While we made do by layering with sweaters and pants, and using all the blanket bedding, it was chilly. It's something to keep in mind when visiting in changing to cooler Fall weather. Overall, the Polly Harper Inn offered a cozy, accommodating stay with lots of thoughtful touches. We especially appreciated the charm of the property, the attentive hosts, and the comfort of our suite. It was also quiet as we didn't hear the other guests very often. We'd stay again and thank you for the nice visit. Recommend checking them out is they are very competitive with a regular hotel room and you get so much more for your money
