We made a reservation online, but it didn't seem to offer a reservation for the patio. We got there requested the patio, but they kind of discouraged us from doing that. I found that a bit frustrating. I should've just canceled my reservation right then and said I wanted to be a walk-in. But our server, Heather was excellent. We visited this beautiful restaurant on Thursday, and let me just say the grounds are gorgeous even out of season. They still had some fresh herbs and flowers but I can imagine how lush it is in the peak of summer. Everything was so clean and the staff was very friendly. We had no problem making a reservation due to it being a little slower on a Thursday. We had a party of 5 and arrived on time and got seated right away. They had a table inside, but gladly moved us out to the patio so we could enjoy the breeze and the view. After we were seated, we sat for about 15 minutes. I think our server must not have realized we were here. But a waiter walked by and then backed up asking if we were being waited on, hearing no, he promptly said he would find our server and then said, "No-I'll just take care of your table. What can I get you to drink?" His name was Joe and let me just say Joe was on top of it. Very friendly and prompt with our drink orders, menus, and napkins. Aside from waters, I ordered the Black Cherry Sour and hubby ordered the Elderflower Paloma. So the Black Cherry Sour was very sweet and sour, lots of flavor but light on alcohol--in fact, I couldn't taste any of the Basil Hayden Bourbon. Tasted more like a sour punch drink than an alcoholic beverage. Hubby didn't like his Paloma. I tasted it and agreed. It was weak on flavor. My sister got a Blackberry Spritzer which was light and bright and she enjoyed it. She is lightweight when it comes to drinking; two sips of wine and she's giggly lol. She drank two of these spritzers and felt nothing, so if you're a lightweight, the spritzers are a nice option. We ordered the Roasted Mushroom Flatbread and it was cold when it came out. Even cold it tasted good though. My sister came with her hubby in Dec '25 for her Anniversary and said she ordered a mushroom flatbread that had a balsamic drizzle and was absolutely delicious and this was not that. For $21.00 I was hoping it would be hot. Entrees: I ordered Braised Lemon Chicken with rapini panzanella, preserved lemon and capers ($29.00) with a separate order of Tomato Braised Green Beans ($8.00) So the good was the chicken had good flavor and capers are always a nice touch. I thought the rapini panzanella was not good. Maybe I was expecting some tomatoes and fresh basil and broccoli rabe with olive oil, fresh garlic served with stale bread...what I got (look at my photo) was something different--stale bread served with some greens with a little bit of a lemon flavored sauce and capers. Since there were no pics with the entrée, I just expected the usual rapini panzanella and that's not what I got. I got a version of it. The green beans had a different flavor that I didn't enjoy and were overcooked. Hubby ordered Corn Crusted Walleye with pecorino polenta cake, charred tomato vinaigrette, and Swiss chard ($35.00) with a side order of Tomato Braised Green Beans ($8.00) Hubby enjoyed his Walleye and everything on his plate but felt like the portions were out of whack. The Walleye could have been bigger and the polenta cake smaller. But the Swiss chard was practically non-existent. Was a garnish and he was hoping for more on his plate. He didn't mind the green beans' flavor, but agreed they were a bit overcooked. Caesar Salad was underwhelming. No pepitas, one large radish slice on top. Tasted ok but for $15.00 the portion was very small. Just a little coated lettuce on a plate. My sister and I ordered the lemon ice box cake to go and Joe was so nice to comp it because he felt bad that we sat so long without being waited on. Joe's service was 5 stars let me say. And we enjoyed the beautiful grounds and we did have a nice experience sitting on a beautiful patio overlooking the lake. But, I felt like the food was overpriced for what we got. I read many reviews and saw amazing photos of delicious food but that was not our experience this trip. I was hoping for a steak with potatoes but it was not on the menu. Saw this place on New Day Cleveland and wanted to try. We were in the area and decided a glass of wine would be perfect. Easy to find. We parked and headed to the tasting room. We opted for inside and to sit at the bar. It was super windy out and instead of battling the wind we sat at the bar. It was a beautiful view on a beautiful day. We got the sangria and the focaccia appetizer. Both were good. Sangria was very citrus forward. It worked on a hot day. The focaccia had 3 toppings and olive tapenade, balsamic and oil, and butter. All 3 were good and the focaccia was warm. It hit the spot. Service was very attentive. And inside they have TV's and outside the view of the lake. It very nice and the patio is fun. This is higher end so most of the prices and drinks are in the $13 and up range. Our bill for 2 sangrias and app was around $48. So just be aware. I'd go back. They have dinner and an Inn. Stopped by for lunch as this place has been on my dying to try list! The entrance is interesting as you drive thru a small residential area before parking in the gravel lot. There is a park right next door too for additional parking. The grounds are still being worked on as it is still springtime and I definitely need to come back during the summer season and when the weather isn't so dreary in northeast Ohio. We asked to sit at a table by the window but were told we couldn't sit there, mind you it was not busy at all and no one sat at that table the entire time we were there so I wasn't very happy with the staff. We ended up eating at the bar since we could still somewhat see the water that way. The food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal so that and the ambiance is the only reason I would consider coming back as the staff really ruined the experience for me. Disappointing experience -- will not return. We traveled from out of the country for a friend's proposal weekend at Vincent William, which had been planned for months. During our first visit, Tracy was welcoming and helped us choose the wine cellar as the proposal location. The day before, we met with her to confirm setup details since we would be decorating the space with flowers and candles. When we arrived the next day at our agreed-upon time, Tracy appeared surprised and seemed unaware the proposal was happening that day. She seemed flustered and inconvenienced, which was disappointing considering how much planning had gone into the weekend. While she did allow us to check in early (which we appreciated), the setup itself felt uncomfortable as we were supervised by a high school-aged employee despite everyone involved being adults in our 30s. The restaurant staff were wonderful and truly the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience felt more restrictive than welcoming. We were stopped from briefly showing the engaged couple's friends their room, felt monitored regarding pool usage, and overheard staff discussing reporting the number of guests using the pool. We understand having rules, but the way these situations were handled made us feel like we were being treated as a problem rather than valued guests. The final issue occurred when we returned to the Inn around 1:45 a.m. and the owner knocked on our door shortly afterward stating that guests had complained about noise. We were respectful of other guests and made every effort not to disturb anyone. The property itself is beautiful, and the restaurant team was excellent, but the hospitality experience did not match the expectations for a property at this level. We came to celebrate a very special moment and left feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

Made reservations on a Friday night for outdoor dinner seating. About ten minutes after we were seated the waitress told us rain was on the way and they would recommend moving inside (they reserve a separate room indoors for those who made reservation outdoors if it rains - which was really nice). Once seated we met the owner's son (Vince) and had a nice conversation about the history of VW and how it came to fruition. Such an interesting journey and well worth the ask! We ordered the Fire Roasted Red Peppers and Whipped Ricotta dip. Both apps were very good and a nice portion to share. My friend and I ordered the scallops and they were very good. They looked a little smaller than the photos I've seen on here, but good nonetheless. My husband ordered the pork chop and thought it was good, and very thick! Lastly, my friend ordered the Bucatini Piccata and it was tasty!. The chicken was a nice size, but I personally would have preferred it not breaded/fried. Lastly, the best part of our meal was the Croissant Bread Pudding! One of the best desserts I've ever had... And I hardly ever order desserts :-) Later we ran into Vince again and had a nice conversation (Go Bobcats). Today, we got a call from VW that "a large, important party" needed more space. They wanted to move us from inside dining, which we had booked, to the bar or outside. We wanted our original spot. We stopped at Vincent William Winery for a late lunch in January 2025 before driving back home to Chicago. It was our first visit to the winery, and ended up being the best meal of our entire trip. I rave about it to everyone. The inn and restaurant are absolutely gorgeous--thoughtfully designed, warm, and elegant--and the entire property truly stands out in the Grand River Valley. The setting is stunning: a unique lakefront location with peaceful views that feel more like a boutique estate than a typical winery. Even in winter, the atmosphere was serene and inviting. What really impressed us, though, was the pride the staff takes in the place. We were given a full tour of the property, and it was clear how dedicated and invested they are in ensuring Vincent William Winery succeeds. That level of care shows in every detail. As for the food--wow. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, from the warm, crusty bread with baked brie and preserves to the vibrant house meatballs and beautifully prepared entrées. The pasta was rich and comforting, and the pork chop was perfectly cooked with hearty, flavorful sides. Presentation was as thoughtful as the flavors. The cocktails were equally impressive. The Old Fashioned was balanced, smooth, and among the best I've had at a winery. Their wines were excellent as well, and I cannot wait until they launch a wine club--I'd be ready to sign up. The chef's classes also sound fantastic and would be a no-brainer for us if we lived locally. Truly, we have zero criticisms. Prices felt quite fair for the quality and experience. The property is exceptional, and the staff offers the kind of genuine hospitality that's increasingly rare. I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 days. I am a single woman wanting to have some peace and quiet with lots of wine! I stayed at the Inn and I have never had a more special experience. At night I sat in the wine lane and quickly made friends with the staff and owner. You know it's a wonderful place when staff are off work and hang out at the bar and spend time together. Mike is the owner and he is accommodating and down to earth- really cares about the inn. Tracy- omg- don't know what to say- she makes everyone feel welcomed and she is incredibly caring. Since it was a very hot day and we were all pretty done with any more sun we asked to sit inside on the bar side. We were going to be the ONLY people sitting in that area at that time however they said since we walked in as a group they could not do separate checks for us, (6 couples). She said even if we split up into tabes of four they would still only do ONE check per table. How ridiculous is it in this time of credit card usage to think everyone had enough cash to replay the one person that had to pay! Clearly they don't care about their customers to try to accommodate us! Inside, there are different rooms for seating. We got the best seat in the house: right by the window overlooking the lake. Amazing!!!! A repeat is needed for many reasons: 1. Honestly, it's near/on the lake and I made my reservations a little too late therefore too dark to see anything. Driving up to the mansion was a sight to see though. The building itself is beautiful. Pictured. Only critique is the host stand was an awkward distance away from the door i entered. But maybe intentional? 2. DINNER: Delightful. A decent variety that anyone can pick from. I had the lamb with brussel sprouts and apple. My friend had scallops and truffle risotto. Both were excellent. My only negative comment is that my Brussels would have been better if crispy and not have so many huge chunks of apple. 3. Dessert: So amazing. I love bread pudding but this is top of my list. I couldn't stop eating it. 4. WINE: unfortunately, due to weather, could only try 1 but their chardonnay was pretty average to those I've gotten from wineries around this area. 5. Service: super attentive and kind. There was a service bar window for patio guests with self-serve water and plates/utensils. We didn't mind but could be a downside for some to not have table service. Food was brought out to us.
