We had lunch here today. We had a large party of about 30 people and we were not disappointed! The service was great. My only criticism is that it was a little warm inside the restaurant. I would have liked the air conditioner to be on. Other than that it was really nice both inside and outside. High ceilings and a beautiful patio area. Very spacious and a great view of the vineyards. The wine was delicious and the food was really great. I had the meatball appetizer and the pecan crusted chicken salad with mandarin oranges. The salad was absolutely fantastic. It came with Gorgonzola cheese crumbles, mixed greens and cranberries with a really yummy citrus flavored dressing. The meatball was tender and moist and the sauce was delicious. I have been to this winery a few times. Their wine is fabulous. I recently bought their June special and I absolutely love it. You may sit indoors or out on the patio depending on the weather. On our way from Upstate NY to Cleveland we stopped at Ferrante for lunch with the aim of visiting the nearby Kosicek Vineyards for a tasting. I noticed the "corporate" vibe of Ferrante upon entering and the experience didn't improve. Cold and impersonal and too many souveniers in the tasting room begins to describe this eatery. Out on the patio a service table was in full view and looked very cluttered. On a Wednesday at 2:15 we still waited some 30 minutes for the orders to come. A bread basket of some sort of commercial cake-like bread was placed on the table. Wrapped in black in a black wire basket, it resembled some sort of dead crow! Not appetizing. A few pats of butter in those little plastic tubs were found at the bottom of the bread basket. Meh! Now, I've had a few panini in my lifetime and the panini that my husband ordered was no panani, more like a sandwich in the same doughy baguette. No crisp edges or chewy insides. It hadn't been put through the grill press so why call it a panini, just call it a sandwich. I had the lasagne, which was marginally ok, lacking any complexity and just tasting like some ground beef was thrown together with tomato sauce and layered with the lasagne noodles. Needless to say, the experience was disappointing though I will give props to the wait staff, as they were doing their best. Our next stop was Kosicek Vineyards. SO much better. read more

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Geneva the last weekend of October and spent our time exploring and tasting wines. We had an amazing Airbnb host who had a bottle of Ferrante's Harvest Spice sitting out for us when we arrived. We really enjoyed it and thought it would be fun to stop into the winery and see what else they had. It was SUPER busy when we arrived, so we were excited to taste some wines- it seemed like everyone in town loved them, so they must be great. They, like everyone else in Geneva (seriously this town is so fun), had beautiful and festive fall and Halloween decor all throughout their storefront off to the left (I'm not sure about the restaurant side to the right, but I would imagine they did) and lots of friendly staff to greet you when you entered. We let them know we were only interested in wine tastings and they directed us towards the storefront area/tasting bar. They had so many adorable gift sets, merch, wine accessories, and of course bottles to purchase. After perusing for a little bit we made our way to the tasting bar and were greeted by a nice man who said he could help us. We asked for recommendations and said we had never been in before and he said he wasn't sure and that he actually didn't drink wine (it was either he didn't drink wine or he didn't drink at all, but I can't remember which it was exactly). We were a little confused as to why he was behind the bar helping customers/doing tastings if he doesn't drink any wine or have at least tasting notes from other staff members. We ended up ordering sparkling and vidal wine flights to try and went to go sit at a table to sip them. Unfortunately, we didn't like any of the wines very much and were surrounded by fruit flies our whole stay. We encountered fruit flies at many of the wineries in Geneva, but since this winery is also a restaurant we had been hoping that wouldn't be an issue. All in all, the visit started out great, but didn't end great. I normally do not like sweeter, fruit wines, but the harvest spice was really tasty and I think they are more popular for those types of wines here. If I ever came across a bottle I would definitely grab it, but I don't think I would come back here for a tasting. read more

For the life of me I cannot understand the low rating of this place! Typically I come to yelp for photos and go to google for true ratings- but felt inclined to comment this time. My mom and I simply had the best time here tonight. Everything from the hostess, Janet, and our warm server, Vinny, to the delicious wines and wonderful meal made this place an easy 5 star rating for us. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce on the chicken parm was excellent. I personally asked for the Gorgonzola cheese on the side with my steak as I'm not fond of bleu cheese, however the chef clearly knew what they were doing with the pairing as the Gorgonzola cut through the sweetness of the balsamic reduction perfectly. We absolutely loved this place and highly encourage all folks to stop in for a nice meal and warm atmosphere!! read more

Ferrante was a good sized restaurant with a covered patio. When we were there it was raining and it was one of the few wineries we hit where people could still sit outside. There was also live music playing. The restaurant itself felt somewhat upscale but with reasonable prices. Our server was very friendly and took time to make wine suggestions. I really enjoyed the Dolectto wine I ordered and even bought a bottle to take home. For dinner I ordered the Seafood Alfredo. I thought it had great flavor. My friends and I decided to take a day trip to Geneva and GOL for a little winery/girls day! This place was first on our list and it was super cute! They had a selection of tasting to pick from - I got red and my one friend got white. This was fun because we all got to try all of the wines! All of the wines were pretty good and we had a fun time sitting outside in their little front patio. The only bad thing was that it wasn't very busy because we went on a weekday, but still no one came outside to wait or check on us, so if we ever needed anything we had to go back inside and wait for someone to help! We also decided to order some bruschetta and margherita pizza. They honestly tasted exactly the same because they have the same ingredients... so don't be like us and maybe order a different pizza. They were both yummy though, nothing too special! The setting and grounds here are beautiful! The people are also very nice. We're finding that these Ohio wines are not quite fitting our palate's though. They're a bit light, almost too dry, and not complex enough. It's not too often that we go to a winery, do a tasting, and don't buy a bottle. I'm not saying don't go. We went on a busy Saturday night, no reservation, and only had a 20 minute wait for two people. The servers were busy but great and friendly. And the food was incredible. I had a negative experience I posted over google. We pulled into an unplowed parking lot with no handicap parking. It was demolition derby as drunk drivers were flying around. I saw visibly heavily intoxicated people getting into driver seats. There was multiple obstructions in their lot. The 2 disabled elderly people I brought almost couldn't make it to the entrance. No seating available. The elderly man immediately told the hostess they needed to sit before they collapsed- so she took them to the opposite end of the building despite the old man shouting and pleading to sit at the clearly available tables. When he stopped, she zipped around quickly and cut off the old man sending him partially onto a table and almost onto the floor. Audible shrieks and gasps from patrons. The hostess never apologized or turned around. The wine was good. The calamari melt in your mouth amazing. The food? Inedible. The old lady gave it to her dogs later when I took her home. Me and the elderly man received the same meal, both of which were profoundly salty. Almost inedible. And I love salt. He could not finish his meal. And showed me half of it was onions which he does not eat. Half the bowl was onions. His legs did swell from all the sodium later. I escorted him into a chair when he got home where he collapsed from all the pain of the hostess making them hike to their table. Over all, it's cheaper and more enjoyable to go through a McDonald's drive through. Zero stars. read more

The people here were very kind. The wine was not great. There were three on my white flight and three on my husband's red flight that were not drinkable. They even come in these weird plastic shot glasses... I could get a bottle at COSTCO for the same price and much better flavor. My meal was meant as a special for the eclipse. It was the weirdest, soupiest ravioli I've ever seen. Thank goodness I added shrimp because otherwise it was nearly inedible. I dug the shrimp out of the... soup?.... and left the rest. My husband's pasta wasn't better and my kiddo has Mac and cheese that was literally the same as Kraft. Like, I bet the box is in the back, cheese packet and all. I'm sure in the summer, sitting on the patio, looking at vines, the ambience is more charming. But for an April evening, the split cushion chairs and insane saucing of pasta dishes makes this a HARD NO. Sorry, Ferrante. You could be much better. It's pretty tough to say I think it's worse than Olive Garden. read more

The location and venue is absolutely gorgeous. We didn't love any of the wines we tried. They had a limited menu for weekday lunch. Ordered a meat and cheese plate along with the pecan chicken salad, hoping to have a bit of appetizer before lunch. All were ready at once, so we could have done without the meat and cheese (very basic - pepperoni, salami, loaf of bread, cheddar, Swiss, & pepper Jack cheese). The salad was really good - light and refreshing, good flavor. We finished with the limoncello gelato. Went here for the first time as a birthday dinner and I was super impressed! Beautiful place. String lights and decorated for Christmas. Our waitress, Kailey, was super friendly, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. We got a wine flight (so delicious! Our waitress recommended the perfect one for us.) we also tried the bruschetta, which was pretty good. My fiancé got the pizza and said it tasted very fresh and I got the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce and meatballs were really tasty! We ended up going to the little gift shop on the way out and purchased two wine bottles. We will be returning with friends next time! read more

There was a line, but it moved quickly. By the time we finished our tasting- our table was ready. The service was a bit slow, but we still had a good time and enjoyed our food. To start we had sausage stuffed banana pepper- it was really good! We are thinking to make it at home too We also ordered mussels in some kind of sauce. It came with a warm baguette so we can dip it in. Yum! For a meal we had salmon in a puff pastry and pork chop special, also ordered variations of seafood Alfredo, we asked if a creamy sauce can be substituted, and we select wine vine and garlic sauce. Beautiful atmosphere and amazing fruit wine! Their outside seating area is stunning and incredibly relaxing. While I didn't eat here, their fruit wines are some of my favorite ever. The raspberry could almost pass for a fruit juice and not tasting like alcohol at all because it is so sweet and fruity-it's amazing! They offer large wine flights which I prefer to having just four because you get a wider range of things to try. And their selection is huge! For non-alcoholic options, they have a wonderful grape juice! I love how easy it is to grab a bottle here before you leave as well! read more

We got to Ferrante on a Friday night around 6pm and were seated right away in the dining room. Unfortunately the outside doesn't have the full dinner menu, so although it was a beautiful day we chose to sit inside. The service was very sporadic. Our waitress greeted us right away but took her forever to come back to see if we needed anything else. She paid a lot of attention to the table right behind us and they turned over two sets of couples before we even got the chance to order dessert, so it wasn't as if she wasn't nearby. That being said, she was friendly and knowledgeable and when we were able to get her attention she was great. The people who delivered the food were inconsistent, too. The table next to us was offered Parmesan cheese to top their pastas but this somehow was forgotten at our table. When they asked if we needed anything else and we asked for cheese, she said she would be right back and never returned. The food was delicious! We got the lasagna and pesto chicken pasta which both had a lot of flavor. The limoncello gelato was the perfect way to end the meal, and the wine flight had a nice variety as well. Prices are a little high but nothing unexpected from a winery. I'm not usually one to leave less than 5 star reviews as I always give people the benefit of the doubt - especially on weekends when I know things can get busy. But I left here feeling disappointed - hopefully when we return things will be better! read more

My husband and I were in this area recently and decided to stop by this winery. It is just off of the highway and in a location with many other wineries. The building itself is really beautiful and set in a picturesque area. There is a patio on the outside where there was live music playing in the gazebo. We went inside to do a tasting of the different varieties of wine. You could have your tasting done inside by a fireplace or outside on another back patio. We tried two different tastings and ordered a meat and cheese tray to go along with it. The tastings came with a description of each wine and its flavor. I actually found some additional wines that I enjoyed. They gave a discount on a case and we left as happy customers. I really wish that this winery and restaurant was closer to our home so that we could actually try the restaurant side as well. read more

One of the bigger wineries in the area. By bigger I mean physically, the sprawling, elegant estate of a winery. With that also comes a bigger pretentiousness in the air and a bigger price tag for their wines. Be prepared, it's not a cheap night out by any means. So, it was a Thursday evening. They had live music outside on their beautiful patio/dining area. Most tables were reserved. Our waiter seated us right front and center across from the gazebo where the fella with the live music was playing. It was a bit loud, yeah. There weren't really any other options for seating so we tolerated it. Our waiter was pretty lackluster. It took a long time to even get served water, let alone wine. I ordered the dry red flight, which arrived sans tasting glass and quite sloppy looking. I ended up having a glass of the Dolcetto, which I had to wait awhile for. I say this because it was one of those instances where other guests around us had stellar servers. I kept thinking, boy it would be nice if ours was more attentive like the rest of them. No water refills, no taking the empty tasting tray away. I had to ask another server to kindly do so. Our patience was wearing thin quickly. We put in an order for the spinach and artichoke dip, which also took awhile to arrive. (Yes it was tasty!) As soon as it did, I asked for our check. At that point I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I didn't even want to stick around to complain to a manager. So, 3 stars for the service. Being disappointed in other wineries we decided on Ferrante's Ice Wine. It tasted like the grand dessert wine that it is. Ice wines contain grapes that have been picked in the dark early morning when the air is cold, and the skins are full of cold juice. Vidal Blanc is a moderate full sweet taste that is smooth, yet thick on the tongue. We are glad we came here, after seeing so many TV ads and print ads. The winery is large and beautiful. There is a covered patio. The winery was crowded, but where you could stand apart, people did. We heard there was a food menu, but we didn't see it. read more

This reminds me so much of any of my local mid range Virginia wineries transported to northeast Ohio! I visited for the first time over Labor Day weekend 2020. We had some free time on Sunday and decided to make the short drive from where I was staying. We didn't make reservations because we weren't going to be dining, but I highly recommend you make reservations if you plan to eat there. The winery was packed on this summer day with beautiful weather for the outdoor seating and the food looked delectable, with some positive yelp reviews. They partition off the outdoor seating by marking reserved tables with a reserved sign and the non-reserved (open) tables have no sign and are seat yourself. We grabbed an unmarked picnic table by the lake after about a 5 minute wait. Not bad! As for the drinks: we asked for a dry white and was recommended the Chardonnay. The pours were hefty and we only stayed for the glass. The live music was delightful! Overall this was a wonderful winery to spend some time during a holiday weekend!
