The owners were very welcoming and accommodated our early arrival, greeting us kindly and making sure we could get settled in right away. The property has a nostalgic, "grandmother's house" feel. We stayed in the Robert Harper Suite, one of three units, which featured a loft that we especially enjoyed. The separate kitchen area was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like a coffee pot and refrigerator, and storage space. The four-seat dining table was a nice touch. Each room includes a hot tub for two, which had plenty of hot water throughout our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying--an assortment of fruit, pastries, muffins, fresh-baked bread, homemade granola, an fresh omelet for each guest. Sue is a good cook. It was delivered by 7:30 a.m., and guests served themselves. The dining room fits three couples, but guest rooms feature space to eat privately. During our stay, two couples who traveled together ate together, while we enjoyed breakfast privately in our suite. Housekeeping was attentive as our room was refreshed with clean towels and trash removal daily, even without requesting it. Small details stood out, like many nightlights placed in hallways and stairwells--especially helpful when going up to the loft. Many Grandma's heritage antiques, flowers and crafts of a gone by era are spread throughout the property. Only one downside; temperature control. The house was set on air conditioning, and while the days were pleasant, the evenings turned chilly (dropping below 40°F), and then it rained, bringing even more cool. The in-room fireplace heater wouldn't turn on, and unlike a hotel, the thermostat can't be adjusted per room. While we made do by layering with sweaters and pants, and using all the blanket bedding, it was chilly. It's something to keep in mind when visiting in changing to cooler Fall weather. Overall, the Polly Harper Inn offered a cozy, accommodating stay with lots of thoughtful touches. We especially appreciated the charm of the property, the attentive hosts, and the comfort of our suite. It was also quiet as we didn't hear the other guests very often. We'd stay again and thank you for the nice visit. Recommend checking them out is they are very competitive with a regular hotel room and you get so much more for your money

We are VERY happy we did. The owners, Laura and Norm, are the nicest people and have decorated the house beautifully. Every morning the breakfast was absolutely delicious - the bacon was THE BEST! We purchased the wine tour and highly recommend doing it. The tour is tailored to your tastes and they drive so you can enjoy the wine (or breweries/distilleries). All 3 were good and the focaccia was warm. It hit the spot. Service was very attentive. And inside they have TV's and outside the view of the lake. It very nice and the patio is fun. This is higher end so most of the prices and drinks are in the $13 and up range. Our bill for 2 sangrias and app was around $48. So just be aware. I'd go back. They have dinner and an Inn. Disappointing experience -- will not return…read more We traveled from out of the country for a friend's proposal weekend at Vincent William, which had been planned for months. During our first visit, Tracy was welcoming and helped us choose the wine cellar as the proposal location. The day before, we met with her to confirm setup details since we would be decorating the space with flowers and candles. When we arrived the next day at our agreed-upon time, Tracy appeared surprised and seemed unaware the proposal was happening that day. She seemed flustered and inconvenienced, which was disappointing considering how much planning had gone into the weekend. While she did allow us to check in early (which we appreciated), the setup itself felt uncomfortable as we were supervised by a high school-aged employee despite everyone involved being adults in our 30s. The restaurant staff were wonderful and truly the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience felt more restrictive than welcoming. We were stopped from briefly showing the engaged couple's friends their room, felt monitored regarding pool usage, and overheard staff discussing reporting the number of guests using the pool. We understand having rules, but the way these situations were handled made us feel like we were being treated as a problem rather than valued guests. The final issue occurred when we returned to the Inn around 1:45 a.m. and the owner knocked on our door shortly afterward stating that guests had complained about noise. We were respectful of other guests and made every effort not to disturb anyone. The property itself is beautiful, and the restaurant team was excellent, but the hospitality experience did not match the expectations for a property at this level. We came to celebrate a very special moment and left feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

I thought I would receive some relief when I entered my non-smoking room, but the smell only continued. The room was clean but with the smell and overall atmosphere of the place, it just made me feel dirty. I have no complaints about the bed or the sheets. If you're low maintenance and can handle your smells this might be a good option for you. It is also pet friendly, which is great for pet owners. A lady holding a black cat waved at me from a window when we pulled into the parking lot and that was the best part of my stay.

They did offer a exceedingly modest continental breakfast with an offering of a bagel or english muffin, two choices of cereal, or some individually packaged applesauce. Nothing special, but it was clean and easy to locate.
