He was traveling alone by himself and it was horrible knowing that he had to sleep at a rest area. After a quick cheers and a photo we got too cold and ran back inside to the warm fireplace. We sat in front of the fire sipping our wine and before we knew it, it was all gone. We called the on site restaurant to order another and a charcuterie board not realizing we were cutting it close to closing time. After thinking for a moment the person who answered the phone kindly obliged and sent over a great wine and the most beautiful charcuterie board that we promptly devoured. We ended our evening in the comfortable jacuzzi tub and then slept in the incredibly comfortable bed. The Lakehouse Inn and more specifically the beach house suite is the perfect stay if you're looking for rest, relaxation and impeccable service. We definitely enjoyed the quiet side of Geneva-On-The-Lake during the winter.

After we barely started our soup, our entree was delivered. We still had no forks and it took a while before we could get the attention of our server, but we were able to flag down a different server who brought us forks. My husband had the burger and it was average. I ordered the BLT spaghetti and it was probably the worst meal I have ever been served. It was cold, probably because of the wait for our silverware, the sauce was watery and the pasta was awful. I'm not sure what the chef did to the pancetta, but it was like no pancetta I have ever experienced. It is so embarrassing to complain about a meal and send it back, and we just never do that. But this was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Once my husband was almost done with his meal, our server noticed that I did not eat mine. We politely told her the issues and she kindly offered to bring me a replacement meal. But honestly, at that point my husband was just about done eating so it really didn't make sense. We were credited for the meal on our check. We had read via text that if we needed ice or wanted to inquire about a late check out, that we could call or text. There was no phone in our room and we did text, a couple times, and never got a response. So no ice, no late check out. We brought our phone chargers and plugged them in before bed so we would have a full charge by the morning. Apparently the plug next to the bed was dead. We moved the charger to the plug near the TV, which was also dead. So our phones did not get charged fully before we checked out. The TV volume was not operable, we assumed it was intentional to keep the volume low between rooms. But with the window open we could not hear the TV at all. Since check out was at 11:00 am and breakfast was only served until 10:30, we didn't make it up and out in time to be able to take advantage of that. We didn't really want to set our alarm in the morning on our anniversary celebration. We had looked forward to sleeping in a bit. Upon booking our room, at check in and also as we were seated for dinner we were asked if we were celebrating something special. We let each know that we were celebrating our anniversary. Odd that we didn't even receive a "Happy Anniversary" note in our room. We travel often and feel that this was not the experience that we should have received for the price and location. Basically they acknowledged our concerns and will share them with the staff. We hope that others will have a better experience than we did! As of Sunday, it had not been repaired & Brenda at no point came to check on the situation herself -sheets stained -hair throughout shower on check in -no trash cans on the beach -Overflowing trash cans on the street -Playground equipment removed, leaving hazardous holes in several places where they were not properly filled -My parents bathroom door handle broke, locking her in the bathroom in the middle of the night for quite some time. My brother & father to fixed it, as everyone was on eggshells with Brenda -Slander. My uncle asked Brenda for the owners contact info, she started yelling at him, told him he 30 minutes to get off the premises or she was calling the cops. He opted to wait for the officer, along with no less than 20 friends & family who were witness to Brenda's irrational behavior that day, as well as throughout the week to him & others. However, the officer came & told my uncle it was Brenda's right to have him removed, stating Brenda sited my uncle was aggressive. What a joke. I heard from first time guests that when she didn't answer the number listed on the office door while they were trying to check in, they went to the beach to kill time & she promptly chased them down & approached them with such hostility they barely had a chance to tell her they were guests. Way to make a first impression. The VP was responding & defending the actions of this awful woman & turning the actions around onto the guests that have been loyal returning guests for years on another review site, until suddenly their whole listing "disappeared". I can't help but wonder if Ryan(the VP) has met this woman & if he actually wants to run a profitable business. If they really do plan on building a Bar & Grill on site as she has said, I hope they have a better business plan than running off return customers.
