I arrived at the hotel at 4:50 pm on a Tuesday and I was greeted by a friendly front desk person…read more He checked me in right away and gave me my bottled water and snack. I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor. You can tell this is a new hotel, everything is clean and works great. The workout room has several pieces of equipment, all with video screens and they even supply plug in headphones. When I opened the door to my room, it smelled fresh and clean and everything looked great. It was well organized and very pleasant to be in. I had a double queen room. There was a work area, satellite TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. There was an iron and ironing board in the closet. The bathroom was furnished with two bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets were clean and fresh. Everything in this place was well taken care of, very clean and orderly. I didn't hear any noise throughout my stay and in the morning, I went for a complimentary breakfast and there was a wide selection of items to choose from. I ate some cereal along with some orange juice. I was happy with my stay and will stay here again.

I honestly had really nice stay at the Hampton Inn, Madison…read more Hotel was nice. Free breakfast and a great bar. Located less than 5 minutes away from some great wineries. Staff was great, everyone I talked to was friendly and seemed happy. Only complaint was the bathroom. The shower and the area around the toilet were both kinda gross. Shampoo/conditioner were provided, but not body wash. Also, no locks the bathroom door??? Especially in a double queen room... makes no sense. Only complaint though. Overall, nice hotel. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

My husband has stayed 5 times, myself with him 3 times. It's pure MAGIC here. The grounds are…read morebeautiful! We've spent many hours on the benches discussing our future together. We are always so inspired here! We very nearly named our daughter (expecting soon) Harper to honor this wonderful house and its history (we aren't, but maybe our next one). We look forward to the clean rooms, and of course the scrumptious breakfast! The owners/caretakers are fabulous hosts. Sitting in the tower overlooking the vineyards is an experience like no other. I have the fondest memories here and we plan to return again and again for special occasions.

The owners were very welcoming and accommodated our early arrival, greeting us kindly and making sure we could get settled in right away. The property has a nostalgic, "grandmother's house" feel. We stayed in the Robert Harper Suite, one of three units, which featured a loft that we especially enjoyed. The separate kitchen area was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like a coffee pot and refrigerator, and storage space. The four-seat dining table was a nice touch. Each room includes a hot tub for two, which had plenty of hot water throughout our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying--an assortment of fruit, pastries, muffins, fresh-baked bread, homemade granola, an fresh omelet for each guest. Sue is a good cook. It was delivered by 7:30 a.m., and guests served themselves. The dining room fits three couples, but guest rooms feature space to eat privately. During our stay, two couples who traveled together ate together, while we enjoyed breakfast privately in our suite. Housekeeping was attentive as our room was refreshed with clean towels and trash removal daily, even without requesting it. Small details stood out, like many nightlights placed in hallways and stairwells--especially helpful when going up to the loft. Many Grandma's heritage antiques, flowers and crafts of a gone by era are spread throughout the property. Only one downside; temperature control. The house was set on air conditioning, and while the days were pleasant, the evenings turned chilly (dropping below 40°F), and then it rained, bringing even more cool. The in-room fireplace heater wouldn't turn on, and unlike a hotel, the thermostat can't be adjusted per room. While we made do by layering with sweaters and pants, and using all the blanket bedding, it was chilly. It's something to keep in mind when visiting in changing to cooler Fall weather. Overall, the Polly Harper Inn offered a cozy, accommodating stay with lots of thoughtful touches. We especially appreciated the charm of the property, the attentive hosts, and the comfort of our suite. It was also quiet as we didn't hear the other guests very often. We'd stay again and thank you for the nice visit. Recommend checking them out is they are very competitive with a regular hotel room and you get so much more for your money

I found that a bit frustrating. I should've just canceled my reservation right then and said I wanted to be a walk-in. But our server, Heather was excellent. I have the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberries, and my wife had the Smashburger. Both were excellent. We will go back, I'll just better understand how I can sit where I would prefer.

We wanted to take photos from our room to the outside since the lake was the view we were paying for, but the windows/screens were so dirty that we couldn't even take a clear photo. When we opened the window to get some fresh air inside, the window sill was disgusting. We felt that with the lake view being what would make this room desirable, the windows should be clean at the very least. After we settled in we had drinks on the patio. The setting was lovely and we enjoyed the cocktails. We had checked a couple sources online regarding the in-house restaurant and it looked higher end to us. We felt that this would be a good choice for our anniversary celebration. We had 7:15 dinner reservations and we were seated right away. We ordered the shrimp appetizer and it was very good, however, our forks were removed with our appetizer plates. Next, we had soup which was good but cold. After we barely started our soup, our entree was delivered. We still had no forks and it took a while before we could get the attention of our server, but we were able to flag down a different server who brought us forks. My husband had the burger and it was average. I ordered the BLT spaghetti and it was probably the worst meal I have ever been served. It was cold, probably because of the wait for our silverware, the sauce was watery and the pasta was awful. I'm not sure what the chef did to the pancetta, but it was like no pancetta I have ever experienced. It is so embarrassing to complain about a meal and send it back, and we just never do that. But this was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to eat it. Once my husband was almost done with his meal, our server noticed that I did not eat mine. We politely told her the issues and she kindly offered to bring me a replacement meal. But honestly, at that point my husband was just about done eating so it really didn't make sense. We were credited for the meal on our check. We had read via text that if we needed ice or wanted to inquire about a late check out, that we could call or text. There was no phone in our room and we did text, a couple times, and never got a response. So no ice, no late check out. We brought our phone chargers and plugged them in before bed so we would have a full charge by the morning. Apparently the plug next to the bed was dead. We moved the charger to the plug near the TV, which was also dead. So our phones did not get charged fully before we checked out. The TV volume was not operable, we assumed it was intentional to keep the volume low between rooms. But with the window open we could not hear the TV at all. Since check out was at 11:00 am and breakfast was only served until 10:30, we didn't make it up and out in time to be able to take advantage of that. We didn't really want to set our alarm in the morning on our anniversary celebration. We had looked forward to sleeping in a bit. Upon booking our room, at check in and also as we were seated for dinner we were asked if we were celebrating something special. We let each know that we were celebrating our anniversary. Odd that we didn't even receive a "Happy Anniversary" note in our room. We travel often and feel that this was not the experience that we should have received for the price and location. All this being said, we did respond to the feedback request from Vincent Michael Wine and they responded to us immediately. Basically they acknowledged our concerns and will share them with the staff. We hope that others will have a better experience than we did! This may be a nice place to stop in for wine tasting in a beautiful setting but we would never spend the $500+ per night for the overnight stay.
