The people who live here are amazing, very sweet and offered excellent advice. The food they made was delicious and very unique. The hot tub does sit about 4 people in it, the night I was there it seemed as if nobody in the house was interested in it so I was practically alone. Close distance to many wineries and restaurants. The rooms are all themed, I chose the city living and it was very pretty. Definitely recommend this place to ANYONE wanting to get away for a night and enjoy some wine out in Geneva. I can't wait to go again.

Really enjoyed all the cookies and tasty and plentiful breakfasts. Our room was upgraded at no cost because there were no other guests staying in the home this weekend, which we appreciated, especially with a pregnant wife. The only 2 critiques that I have- I would suggest to Jeff and Danielle to consider using 2-ply toilet paper. It was a little jarring to have everything else so nice and then have single ply paper. Perhaps if septic system care was an issue, you could install a bidet on the toilet. They are $30 on Amazon and an amazing upgrade to any toilet. Also, the upstairs bathroom faucet is too short- I kept making a mess of that lovely countertop because it doesn't extend far enough. Outside of these things, we loved our experience and hope to return the next time we come back to Geneva!

We are always so inspired here! We very nearly named our daughter (expecting soon) Harper to honor this wonderful house and its history (we aren't, but maybe our next one). We look forward to the clean rooms, and of course the scrumptious breakfast! The owners/caretakers are fabulous hosts. Sitting in the tower overlooking the vineyards is an experience like no other. I have the fondest memories here and we plan to return again and again for special occasions.

The owners were very welcoming and accommodated our early arrival, greeting us kindly and making sure we could get settled in right away. The property has a nostalgic, "grandmother's house" feel. We stayed in the Robert Harper Suite, one of three units, which featured a loft that we especially enjoyed. The separate kitchen area was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like a coffee pot and refrigerator, and storage space. The four-seat dining table was a nice touch. Each room includes a hot tub for two, which had plenty of hot water throughout our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying--an assortment of fruit, pastries, muffins, fresh-baked bread, homemade granola, an fresh omelet for each guest. Sue is a good cook. It was delivered by 7:30 a.m., and guests served themselves. The dining room fits three couples, but guest rooms feature space to eat privately. During our stay, two couples who traveled together ate together, while we enjoyed breakfast privately in our suite. Housekeeping was attentive as our room was refreshed with clean towels and trash removal daily, even without requesting it. Small details stood out, like many nightlights placed in hallways and stairwells--especially helpful when going up to the loft. Many Grandma's heritage antiques, flowers and crafts of a gone by era are spread throughout the property. Only one downside; temperature control. The house was set on air conditioning, and while the days were pleasant, the evenings turned chilly (dropping below 40°F), and then it rained, bringing even more cool. The in-room fireplace heater wouldn't turn on, and unlike a hotel, the thermostat can't be adjusted per room. While we made do by layering with sweaters and pants, and using all the blanket bedding, it was chilly. It's something to keep in mind when visiting in changing to cooler Fall weather. Overall, the Polly Harper Inn offered a cozy, accommodating stay with lots of thoughtful touches. We especially appreciated the charm of the property, the attentive hosts, and the comfort of our suite. It was also quiet as we didn't hear the other guests very often. We'd stay again and thank you for the nice visit. Recommend checking them out is they are very competitive with a regular hotel room and you get so much more for your money

The location to the wineries is very good, while it is also close to the town of Madison. The setting is beautiful. The home is a country style mansion situated on a vineyard and a horse farm. The host, Kay, is a very nice person. She is friendly and helpful. She prepares a very nice breakfast using locally sourced ingredients. We were served fresh OJ, scrambled eggs with cheese and fresh chopped vegetables, bacon and homemade bread that was toasted perfectly. The decaf coffee was very good as well. Our room was located on the top floor and had a small balcony that overlooked the vineyard and horse corral. It was very peaceful and pleasant. The room had a king bed and a small refrigerator. The bathroom was small, but serviceable. The room temperature is centrally controlled, which makes it a little tricky for the host to find a temperature level that is comfortable for guests on different floors. There is a very active train track less than 2 miles from the B&B. Light sleepers may struggle with this as the trans run 24 hours.

I called their number and got to speak with both of them and their warmth, and hospitality, was obvious. We stayed in one of the cabins and it had everything a hotel room would have. Actually more, as we had a small couch, and dining table to sit at besides normal hotel features. Top that off with a delicious breakfast that included, meat-cheese-veggie omelet, whole wheat toast, homemade YOGURT from a cow next door, with homemade jam. Homemade oat bread, and something else I can't remember. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! I want to mention that we were asked for any dietary restrictions during our reservation phone call. I encourage you to spend a few minutes chatting with Betty and Al. These humble, unassuming, wonderful people have led very interesting lives. The terraces were lovely -Loved the on site restaurant being so easy to access -Towels/washcloths were plentiful and comfy Cons: -Room has a definite musty smell from water damage somewhere. All of my stuff smells musty after the visit -Hot water in a room for 4 people ran out after 2, and was luke warm for the first two. Shower head is cheap and atrocious -Breakfast order was wrong every morning despite filing out the google form as clearly as possible. The form needs revamped to be specific for each guest as existing form was clearly confusing for the kitchen / kitchen does not know how to follow instructions. We had a clear allergy that was disregarded and mixed in with the gluten free guest resulting in frustration and allergen exposure -Restaurant was good but over priced for the quality/type of food. For what we spent, a bread appetizer should be complimentary. Server was nice but hard to get her to stop at our table. $100 pre tip is a lot for a bowl of pasta, a steak, a beer, a glass of wine and some fries. -Why is it so hard to get bottled water? Requests with our breakfast were ignored, and I ended up going to get a pitcher of water from the restaurant

There is also a lovely little electric sauna which did the job. Be aware there are not full amenities here such as showers or other bath items, but there is a sauna shower where you can get a spritz. Weekday pricing was very reasonable. My only gripe was the peculiar sitting area, with a motley crew of decor. But that's a minor oversight for what was otherwise a perfect day. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Geneva on the lake.

I found that to be off putting. Okay... ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Server returns.. it's not cold. Are you kidding me? Debbie finally said.. I'll tell you what I do have that's cold. Gee... that was disappointing . Sat in one of the small rooms and Debbie our server really was great. I felt bad for her that she gad to tell be that these wines/champagne were not cold. I had the halibut... my Mother had the Filet. We both got the baked potato which comes with a lovely server with toppings. Nice touch. Loved the bread with the pesto oil and Texas beans. We both got dessert of bread pudding and I got the vanilla mousse in chocolate cup. Will I return? I'm sure next time I'm in town I will... but PLEASE have white wine/Champagne chilled in a Friday night.

The "brunch" had no breakfast food except for bacon that did not have to be ordered from the kitchen. The crêpes were small and very chewy. Omelette was OK. The hot food was not. The potatoes were like Play-Doh with a layer of butter on top, the mac & cheese was cool. The turkey and dressing was like a log of turkey substance you would buy from Walmart. The pork was overcooked and dry as you will see. Prime rib was somehow very tough and not seasoned. The desserts were bland, not sure how you mess up a mini cheesecake. The bloody Mary tasted like watered down tomato juice out of a can at Walmart mixed with some cheap vodka. we were very sad that this happened and we will not return. We walked in and wasn't very clear on how to proceed, but one of the guests told us the hostess would come out. About 15 minutes after our reservation a lady came out and looked surprised to see us and asked if we could be helped. We told her our name and she's like oh yes, come this way. She's very nice. The waitress was attentive, saying she was somewhat forgetful because they were slow. Smell like she was on multiple smoke breaks.
