Where has this place been? I've been in Chattanooga for 4 years and started to give up on good chinese food. Just stuck with Mongolian but we have finally found a quality take out Chinese restaurant! The orange chicken is delicious and more like orange chicken tenders they're so huge. Lo mein is absolutely delicious even just plain. Yellow fried rice and the beef lo mein are A+. I ordered take away from here after reading some reviews. They are excellent at following COVID precautions and make pick up super easy. The staff is super friendly and treat each customer like they are family. The food here is amazing! I have had hot and sour soup at nearly every Asian restaurant in town as well as in 40 of the 48 states in the continental US. Their soup is among the best I have ever had. I've gotten food delivered from Hunan Wok a few times. You can order directly from their website, Doordash or by calling. I prefer to order directly from them. This last time I called in since my order was coming to just under $15 on their website, which has a $15 minimum to place an order. The lady who answered took my order and there was no issue with the amount. She told me 35 minutes and it was here in about 15!! The food was piping hot and fresh, and the driver was so nice. I absolutely love their egg rolls and crab Rangoon. The chicken dishes I've ordered have also been good. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is their fried rice. It's an odd yellow color instead of the usual brown and needs flavor. Maybe lacking soy sauce? Also disappointed they don't include fortune cookies. I LOVE fortune cookies!! Hunan Wok is exactly what you expect from a fast food Chinese takeaway. It's affordable, super quick, and consistent. While they won't win any awards for best meal in town, if you're in a rush for a quick or late-night bite of Chinese takeaway, this is one of the few places that can take care of you. ;-) read more

Have had 2 deliveries- 1st one was good, fresh cooked. It was a week night, so they may have been busy, so food was fresh cooked. 2nd Delivery was HORRIBLE, I don't know if they have a buffet, but after the second order I would put money on it. I am pretty sure we got a late afternoon buffet plate instead of fresh cooked. Ribs were overcooked, beef jerky with dried on thick sauce instead of tender Teriyaki, Egg Rolls were soggy with grease, not one part crispy-period. We also got Mongolian Chicken- I honestly think the chicken was from leftover wings from the buffet or prior day, stripped off the bone and re-purposed. Absolutely disgusting. I am even more disappointed if they DON'T have a buffet... I thought we had found a keeper after the first meal, then TOTAL FAILURE to serve a quality product. read more

First off, this place is FANTASTIC. My partner and I had been traveling all day (Ft. Worth, Texas - Chattanooga, around 12 hours) and we didn't get settled down to eat until past 9 PM. My partner and I have a tradition that everywhere we travel, we eat local Chinese food. This has been the best we have had yet! We got the sweet and sour chicken, which was fried to perfection (it had a beautiful crunch (if you're into that sort of thing) and the sauce that came with it was "like sweet n sour times 4!" (a direct quote from my partner, a sweet n sour connoisseur.) We also got honey chicken with noodles, the sauce was really good, and honestly it was quite a bit of food. We also got vegetable egg rolls which were like no other egg roll we've ever had. It was fried like a regular pork egg roll, and had a beautiful crunch (again, if you're into that sort of thing.) Everything was hot and fresh and delivered quickly! We both agreed we'd come back to Chattanooga just for this place! read more

Tried it for a second time that maybe they would actually get it right. Steamed vegetables... Garlic sauce on the side. I asked for a half container. They gave me two dipping cups. The first time they gave me one. What would that do to an entire meal? The broccoli was extremely crunchy as in not cooked at all. I couldn't even eat it with my teeth. Garlic sauce not spicy one bit. Vegetable rolls aren't too bad... But I'd much rather order from my usual place. They were closed and decided to give these guys another shot. Very disappointed. Cheap Chinese that tastes pretty good. Can't complain! Their broccoli with garlic sauce was surprisingly sweet (I expected salty) and I really liked it. Hunan wok use to be my go to place to get Chinese from delivered. Just got food from them for the first time since everything opened back up and the quality of food has gone down a lot. My girlfriend and I ordered a plethora of to-go food ranging from a few different dishes not too long ago. Upon opening our order we discovered basically that I would not even feed the quality of food to dogs. Everything was covered in a mushroom dark sauce that was horrible and incredibly bitter. None of the food was cooked all the way through and I assume by the smell of most of it that the food had gone bad before putting it into the to go box. We will never eat here again and I recommend you avoiding this place at all costs, not to mention when we complained about our food the Employees would not take our food back, cursed at us, and would not give us any bit of a refund or an apology about the quality of food that was provided for us. read more

I ordered delivery from hunan wok. It took about 3 phone calls and 2 hours to receive my cold soggy food. I have ordered in the past and not even gotten my order. The people on the phone never apologize for the inconvenience and when I asked the delivery girl why it took so long she giggled and said i don't know I just got here. Customer service is terrible for mediocre Chinese food. Definitely won't be ordering from here again. Also teriyaki chicken was had no flavor and taked very very old. The shrimp in the fried rice was terrible quality. Honestly just disappointed about the time and money I won't get back. read more

Horrible customer service and delivery service! Definitely does not know how to treat their long time customers or any customers for that matter. They screw-up your order and say they'll owe you for it next time but when next time comes they get sudden amnesia. The delivery service is even worse. They send your food to the wrong address, you wait an hour and half for it and it's ice cold, they don't even offer a discount or any type off accomidation for the inconvenience and still expect you to accept the food n pay. They get very disrespectful and unprofessional when you tell them you no longer want the cold food. When you call to place a complaint they lie and hangup in your face. And the final straw was when I found an insect in my beef lo mein. It's a shame because I've been a customer since they first came from Newyork and opened up here in Chattanooga. I remember when the owner was pregnant with their daughter whose now grown up. That's how long I've been a customer and to be treated in such a way is horrible. Clearly this place has lost their way n stop caring about customer satisfaction and without that you have a failing business. I will be sending a full report with receipts, and recorded phone calls, and video to the local news stations. It's time Hunan Wok on east 23rd street get a reality check!!! read more
