    Chicken with beans combo
    Eli J.

I tried this Chinese restaurant for take out for the first time. Based on this first experience, this place is a solid 4 stars. Online order was quick and easy. I ordered the Szechuan chicken and chicken with beans combos. The vegetables are good quality. The chicken also pretty good quality. The fried rice was slightly undercooked but I doubt it's consistently like that. The egg rolls were decent, not the best I've had. I think you can expect decent takeout chinese food from here. To get to 5 stars, I would have liked the food to be more flavorful. There's a good chance there is something of 5 star quality on the menu, I just haven't found it yet.

I've been to gatherings that would order party platters and takeout from China Kitchen, and it was all really good. I love their Lo Mein and Szechuan Chicken. This time I went with a friend to dine in for the first time. I got their Small Teriyaki Chicken which came with a side of rice. For me, I finished my rice portion quickly but the Teriyaki chicken entree was more than enough for me and I had a bunch leftovers. It was okay but I'm wanting to try other popular options that I think I'd like more.

    general tso's tofu: $8.75

(3.5 stars) China Kitchen is pretty consistent with other Chinese places around here, but they do have a large selection of dishes that use artificial meat If you're a vegetarian and craving greasy Chinese, this is your best bet. I'm a meat eater but I get up vegetarian so sometimes I have a taste for it. The Mongolian artificial chicken was a little disappointing. Not because of the mock meat, but I expected it to be a bit spicy and have onion in it, which it didn't. That's always the problem with veggie dishes going by the same name as their meat counterparts, in my opinion. Though it was good, it wasn't what I expected so I was disappointed. Similar comment for the general tso's tofu: it wasn't spicy at all, but it was good. The tofu is fried and tossed in plenty of sauce. The roast bean curd with mushrooms and bamboo shoots was a little bland, BUT it had fresh mushrooms and not canned mushrooms, so that's a big plus. The vegetable mei fun is good but there's too many noodles and not enough vegetables for me. The broccoli in garlic sauce is always on point. ALWAYS! Since COVID, they are just doing takeout and they have a pretty large screen that spans most of the counter. When I went a couple of weeks ago all of the workers had on masks, but not 100% of them had on masks today, so I guess they're inconsistent there.

Tiny place located directly at the end of the Tractor Supply store. If you blink you will miss it and that would be tragic, because this little place can turn out some great Chinese food! Whoever was manning the wok needs a raise because the Szechuan chicken was cooked to absolute perfection. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that thought they egg rolls looked amazing, they were not the best. Very thick and doughy. Thing is...I didn't come for the egg rolls. If you are out in Collegedale, don't hesitate to give them a try. I think you will be glad that you did.

    Vegetables and artificial chicken

Good food and fast service. In addition to meat dishes that you'd expect, they have a lot of vegetables and artificial chicken items for vegetarians.

Specifically asked for sauces, chopsticks, and plastic ware, didn't receive any. Called to have them sent, and was refused. Ribs were also extremely tough and dry.

    Beef and scallops

First visit, on recommendation of Chef at Bite Me bakery, and was not disappointed! Except, closed on Saturdays. I had the beef and scallops, my wife, General Tao's chicken with fried rice. Although I prefer my scallops seared in garlic and butter, these were cooked perfectly. Beef was tender and each order prepared only after order is placed. General Tao's chicken was more than my wife could eat, and I didn't finish mine eaither! Make sure your order exceeds $25.00, because my wife says the cheese won tons are delicious! Only negative, self serve on paper or plastic....including eating utensils.

Best Chinese food in Ooltewah. Their sauces are on point and you can't beat the quantity they give. I ordered the large portions and it'll probably last me three meals if I ate them by myself. The cost also isn't bad either. There's some other Chinese places in town but they're mad expensive and you don't get nearly as much.

Having gone to school at Southern, this was my spot for late night, cheap eats! That being said, the food is decent and the pricing fair. They have a very vegetarian friendly menu. If you're vegetarian you'll be surprised with how many options you have, ranging from tofu to fake meat dishes. If you're passing through or looking for Chinese-American food, give this place a try!

Fast and good. Lots of locals and very busy. And since yelp requires 85 characters I recommend the sesame chicken.

Cool I waited 12 minutes, then called and asked did you forget about me ? The team member replied " Well we are short handed." As I watched them fill orders of walk in customers asap. I then asked to speak to the manager and the person I was speaking to on the phone said " She's going to tell you the same thing. " I repeated "I want to talk to the manager!" When the manager got on the phone 15 minutes had passed and , then I explained to her what was going on , and she apologized and offered to give me a small box entrée to go with my orders. When my orders finally arrived I made sure that were three containers in the bag. Oh, I don't want to leave out this part, when I placed the orders, I specifically asked for the balls to be 50-50 50% noodles chow mein and 50% of the meat. It took me 20 minutes to get home when I opened the bowls, of course they only had 80% chow mein in 20% of the meat and the small container that was supposed to have extra meat., was filled with mushrooms, broccoli, and red peppers only. From the woman that took my payment at the window to the two people I talked to on the phone and the person that brought the food out all had terrible attitudes. Of course took the survey and left a bad review. I was hoping they would call me back and ask more details , but they didn't.

Unlike a Japanese hibachi grill, there is no expert to cook provided for your table - YOU are your own cook here! My "date" chose the hot spot, I chose the grill. Both were all-you-can-eat servings which allow you to choose two meats (12-15 total options) and several veggies or sides from their long list (30+) of selections in each round (to limit waste, which makes sense). My favorite was the volcano steak, which included great seasoning and super tender meat. It's not the highest quality meat you'll find, but that's too be expected in an all-you-can-eat concept. The environment was fun except for the unbelievable large video screen on the back wall that is too bright and obnoxious like some digital billboards! The delivery robot that delivered certain items to tables was an interesting curiosity especially for the kids at the tables around us. The best part of our experience was the service, which was very attentive and responsive and included lots of instructions and patience to coach rookie like us to the this cooking concept. She also gave very helpful suggestions that helped us pick from the long left of menu selections. Fun experience although not cheap! We would do it again just because it's truly unique.
