My friend and I chose this place on a whim and ended up liking it here. We came during lunch and to my surprise, they had a lunch special. We both got a veggie spring roll to start and it was good. The yellow sauce that came with the spring roll tasted like horseradish which I don't really like. So I just had it mostly with the sweet and sour sauce. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with white rice and my friend got General Tso's Chicken. Honestly, I liked my dish. There's a red pepper by the Kung Pao Chicken on the menu but it wasn't terribly spicy, just faintly. But then again I guess I do have a decent spice tolerance so try at your own risk. I also tried my friend's and I really liked her General Tso's chicken. It was tasty and the sauce was delicious. We both had large portion sizes with enough to take home for another meal. Good food & service! My husband and I stopped in here for a date night while visiting the area. We were seated immediately on a Friday night. We were starving so we got crab Rangoons and veggie egg rolls to start (be sure to check in on Yelp for free egg rolls!). I also got a Thai tea - yum! Let me start by saying the restaurant was absolutely filthy and completely rundown. The condiments on our table were sticky and disgusting, and there were boxes stacked on top of the soda machine. They had very little wine available--not because they don't offer it, but because they were out! We usually love this place, but it's been a while since our last visit. This time, my husband ordered sushi, and I ordered Lo Mein and spring rolls. The spring rolls were drenched in grease; oil dripped off them as soon as I picked them up. My food was completely bland, tasteless, and overly oily. It was downright gross. To make things worse, my husband's order was wrong, and while they were remaking it, they prioritized their workers' meals over his. I had the Sesame Chicken with Lo-Mein and it was DIVINE!!! The sauce perfectly coated everything. The chicken was cooked perfectly and everything combined was heaven in my mouth! I'm a very picky eater and hardy eater out. Except on special occasions. I usually meal prep my meals for an entire week but my brother just celebrated a special event and wanted to go to his favorite restaurant. So I googled everything ahead and was not disappointed. Nice relaxed modern atmosphere with friendly and efficient wait staff. Parking is plentiful and free. Food was very good. Doesn't knock your socks off, but definitely fresh and tasty. Plating was beautiful as you can see from the pics. We all eat first with our eyes, and Fulin's plating does not disappoint! Mouth was watering as soon as our server sat the plates down. They offer both Chinese and Japanese cuisine which I found to be very nice. Also loved that they treat you to 3 spring or egg rolls when you check in on Yelp, so make sure you do. Pleasantly surprised by this place. The sushi was pretty good. I would even say the best I've had so far in the greater Chattanooga area. The decor is nice, and we were seated quickly without delay. Nice setting, but food wasn't on the same level as the décor. Their version of the Pu Pu platter was quite good, and the Lo Mein Noodles and Fried Rice were adequate. The General Tso Chicken, Lettuce Wraps, and Beef in Garlic Sauce all had twangy tomato sauce overtones that were unpleasant. Service was very slow, drink refills were a challenge, and orders were incomplete and required corrections. I wouldn't necessarily avoid this restaurant, but neither would I seek it out. Fulin's was not my first choice, but we entered out of curiosity and the potential for a healthier menu. I'm glad that we did. It was a delightful dining experience. My wife and I were out and about in Collegedale today and since I didn't take her out last night, we decided to give this Fulin's a try. Navigating the Cambridge Square was fairly easy and a nice change of pace. Being familiar with the chain, we confidently walked in and were seated quickly. We were promptly taken care of by the host and then our waiter appeared. The waiter: he was nice and clean but the main thing I noticed about him is that he never said "you're welcome". When I would thank him for brining something he would reply with "thank you". I'm not sure if this was his upbringing, policy or arrogance. I never figured that out. The table: the table was clean, no doubt about it, but, the partition between tables looked like it hadn't been wiped off since they opened, whenever that was. It was bad. See attached images. The Food: the food was great. They have the best egg rolls and the hot mustard is so hot it'll take your breath for a minute but then it's gone. No lingering heat, which I love. I apologize for not taking the picture immediately, but I took a few pieces... and yes only a few. The presentation of this meal was just awful. It was like they threw a few vegetables on top of it and two pieces of pineapple. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't anything special, your better off going to a Chinese buffet if your ordering the sweet and sour dish. Very disappointed with this dish. The taste was bland and the sauce was average. I'd rather go take my money to a Chinese buffet down the road if their gonna serve a basic "sweet and sour" meal. The sushi was okay. So I've been going to this location for 8 years. The food is excellent, the service is usually very good. However, tonight when I pulled in to pick up my to go order there was a Chevy truck taking up two parking spaces. My order was for pick up at 5, which is a very busy time on a Friday night. While I was picking up my order I mentioned to the manager there was a Chevy truck parked in two spots out front (limited parking) and asked her if that is something she can help with. She said no she could not. Long story short while I was leaving with my to go order, I told the guy in the truck (he was now leaving all of a sudden) he needs to park in one spot. He flipped me off and said FU to me. So I did respond and told him to say that to my face. About that time some blond waitress come out from Fulins and got between the other guy and me. I told her what happened, and the other guy kept coming towards me (apparently she was his wife, girlfriend or whatever). After a few back and forth words, by both of us, the manager (I guess) came out and told me I need to leave and I wasn't welcome back again. So here is the summary...I called the manager back to tell my side of the story. She said it doesn't matter and I can't come back again. She said she told the GM what happened and he also said I can't come back again. I told her I've been coming to this location for over 8 years and she said I shouldn't have said anything. I'm going to be calling Fulins Corporate offices on Monday. This guy is a jerk, he flipped me off and said FU when I told him he should be parking in 1 spot. If you could see the front of Fulins in Ooltewah, you'd see what I mean about very limited parking, especially for to go orders. I'll try to reach the GM next week. Just had another spectacular meal at Fulin's with the family. Food was prepared fast even considering how slow the business was this evening. The server, I didn't catch his name (but nice beard), brought me chili oil and a hot sauce to try alongside my cashew chicken and it was a delightful addition. Highly recommend the hot sauce. A latest eatery has opened up in Cambridge Square. I ordered take out during lunch. You have to go to the bar to pick up but once someone came by I paid for the order and food was brought out. The server was polite and asked what sauces I needed and plastic silverware provided. There was a quite a few people dining in so I guess word is getting out. The food was delicious - rice fresh and chicken was actually good chunks of chicken breast nicely sauced. The General Tso Chicken actually had some spice to it. Most places don't taste any spiciness and theirs brought the heat with not too much spice. The lunch specials are $8 and includes a spring roll or pork egg roll. These were delicious as well. I want to like it. I really, really do. But decent sushi is incredibly hard to find in this area. And these rolls were TINY. Insultingly tiny. Wee. Itty bitty barely as wide as a quarter small. And loose. I cannot express my utter disappointment at being served a dragon roll where the toppings were cut so thin you could practically see through them...only to have the middles fall out!! I'm fairly confident in saying the reason the sushi fell apart was because they were using long grain rice instead of short, sticky rice. However, this place earned a star bump because the wait staff was kind. The mongolian beef dish was pretty good and the mixed veggies were okay. Unfortunately, the portion sizes of the main dishes were small as well. Especially for the price. The friends that joined me said the dinner portion was the exact same size as the lunch, only it isn't served with a soup and egg roll. No one cared for the fried rice, since it only had egg (no veggies) and was seasoned lightly with soy sauce.
