Much to my surprise, the food was good. So, we were in town visiting when we had a need for Chinese. Found this place by mistake. I love hole in the wall places. They were rated pretty well. 4 for a neighborhood Chinese is like a 5 plus. We don't have one in ours anymore, so this was a nice find. I tried to walk in and order but had to go to the drive up window to order. Hum, strange but whatever. Maybe do to covid. Safety. Who knows. Well, I ordered and had to park in the parking lot to wait for the food. It felt like a long wait. That was my only issue. Once I got home and opened the bag, everything I ordered was there, and the amount was huge. The taste was good. Nothing a little soy sauce couldn't fix. Hunan beef, General Tso, and some spring rolls. All was good, and there was plenty of leftovers. I would visit again. read more

Food here is good but be aware that the prices listed here do not align with current pricing. I ordered a dish that was around 10.00 according to Yelp and when I went to pick up, I was charged double that and told it was only available in the very large portion. This is not indicated on this page with their menu. The refunded me, but did not simply revise my order as requested. Customers should be warned about price differences and given the order total before going to pick up. I never would have ordered the item if the communication had been better up front. read more

We ordered the garlic chicken, stir fried four season, "meat" wonton and donuts. I guess my biggest mistake was not exactly knowing what my food actually was. I thought the stir fried four season was basically just combination fried rice. I thought the "brown sauce" would be soy sauce. I don't know what it is but it was not good at all and the pork was very thin and chewy. In fact my partner thought it was a pepper when I asked him to try one and refused. The fried rice was pretty sticky. Also, it must not have been included with my meal because it was in a separate container... And my bill was over $40 for those four items and I know my wontons and donuts weren't $10 each. Or maybe I don't know how much they were because apparently the menu prices are wrong so who knows what cost what. I asked for a menu and when the lady handed it to me she told me the prices are wrong and not to go by the prices on the menu but to only look at the prices on the window. The wontons were ok, very hard and dried out. Almost stale. The donuts were ok. I ate a couple and pawned the rest off on my partner. He said the garlic chicken was "ok" He said everything was "ok" but then didn't want any extras like normal. The lady was super nice the brief interaction I had with her. But not knowing I was about to drop $40+ on Chinese food I had sticker shock when I heard my total. Honestly I should've seen the red flags from reviews from 5+ years ago on here with similar opinions but I had hoped it was better since it obviously survived COVID I thought it had to be decent. And the biggest flag should've been the giant sign on the drive through window "NO REFUND" With explanation of exchanges only and that food must be in the same condition as when they served it to you to exchange it. So if I took it back to them, picked through, I couldn't have gotten my money back anyways so here I am hopefully warning people before making the same mistake I did. This is not authentic Chinese food (Lord I wish that existed in Chattanooga) -- but it is fast, tasty, and affordable American-Chinese food. Mini-rant: China is very diverse in its cuisine, from the dumplings of Dongbei, the rice noodles of Guangxi, to the absolutely mind-blowing variety of Sichuan pork and vegetable dishes. It is frustrating that it is nearly impossible to find anything that isn't a bland, greasy reinterpretation of Cantonese cuisine not only in Tennessee, but in the US. The best Chinese food I've had in Chattanooga! We got sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, noodles, sesame chicken, crab rangoons, and fried pork dumplings. Everything was a 10 out of 10! The health score here is a 99. I used to eat here about 12 years ago, seems to be the same owners. Either my tastebuds have evolved past this level of American Chinese food or this food is just bland with a funky taste to add insult to inury. I ordered a general tsao chicken with fried rice, 2 eggrolls and a soda. My total came to almost $10. The portions are enormous, I will give them that. My chicken was crispy, didnt taste like chicken and was coated in a bland, thin sauce. I saw some green onion floating around and some dried chilis. No flavor, it was just bland all around. The fried rice was super bland, no traces of onion, garlic or green onion. The eggrolls were the highlight. Crispy, classic cabbage and black pepper stuffed inside of a crispy eggroll shell. Very slow. Unorganized. Good egg rolls. Average food. After having a large lunch, we had waited late to eat dinner and opted for some takeout Chinese. We put in our to-go order over the phone on a Friday night at about 8:30 and were told it'd be 15-20 minutes. We asked if they needed our name and they said no that they had our phone number... We waited 20 minutes and went on down to pick it up. We Initially thought we'd pick it up through the drive up window but after waiting behind one vehicle for ten minutes that obviously wasn't going anywhere I decided to walk in and grab it... or so I thought. I went in and walked up to the counter and they asked which order was mine so I gave them my phone number... well they didn't keep track of it that way. Instead I had to repeat our order and after a few seconds of confusion they picked it out of several others hanging on the wall... well, good I thought, at least the did have the order. I paid thinking it was ready and I'd be on my way soon and be enjoying deliciousness in a few short minutes... in stead, I continued to wait for at least another 45 minutes... I almost asked for a refund but didn't want to cause trouble and thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt on my first ever visit... and if I did cancel the order we'd all just be back to square one after an hour of waiting so I just sat and waited patiently... hoping it'd be worth it. I don't have a problem waiting but don't tell someone that it'll be 15-20 minutes when In fact it will be over an hour. The girl taking the order was young, perhaps 14 or so, and polite but obviously not up to the task as far as estimating wait times... The food: We ordered egg rolls, Peking chicken, General Tso Chicken, chicken lo mein, and Mongolian Beef. Pretty basic everyday items at almost every Chinese restaurant. We got two of the entries with fried rice and one with white rice. The egg rolls were great!; absolutely delicious, they were large and crisp and had none of that doughiness that is getting so common now days. Everything else was only average. The entrees were edible, nothing "bad" about them but nothing special. The fried rice was below par. While we were glad it was white fried rice instead of that yellow junk, you could tell it was hurried and not cooked long enough. It was like they threw it in the wok for a few seconds, maybe gave it one or two stirs and called it finished. What a shame. It seemed to have potential. The lo mein had good flavor and texture but the chicken was in very large and long chunks that had to be cut several times to portion it out properly. The Peking chicken wasn't exactly what I was expecting or used to but it's not a dish I get often so perhaps it is variable from place to place. It was sweet with a red sauce battered and fried crisp. The General Tso's was the usual as was the Mongolian beef. Nothing was spectacular out of those disused. Overall, I guess we'd give it another try one day but with so many similar options nearby it may be a while... if ever. read more

Your typical take out Chinese restaurant with your not so typical take out food and greeting is how I'd describe Mr. Wok. I used to frequent here after work and have since changed locations for my job many years ago. I'm off this week though and wanted to grab a bite before a movie. Glad I remembered this place. I had General Tso's chicken and the fried chicken was crisp with a fresh glaze of sesame sauce with dried chili red peppers for a little kick. The staff provided me with hot and sour soup as a free side. The egg role was made by them and cooked to order unlike so many competitors. There is a sign at the cash register that says "To our valued customers, please be patient while we cook the food fresh." The quality I experience tells me you can stand behind that sign. The important parts of great food and a smiling face to take your order are the key values here that put them ahead of their competitors. read more

It's mister wok, need I say more? It's a staple of Brainerd. They have a drive-thru. If you go on the inside they have four or five booths and a couple tables and it is very very clean. It's not the best Chinese but if you don't feel like cooking and you're in the mood for something quick it works. The portions are large. It's always fresh and hot. It doesn't have much flavor or heat even when requested. I always come home and Doctor it up with some sriracha and salt. The building needs a good pressure wash and maybe a Fresh coat of paint. Don't let the sketchy drive thru stop you from grabbing lunch or dinner. The owners are very polite. They always get our order right the first time. read more

We haven't been here in many years and thought we'd try it again. We looked at the menu online, big mistake because it's incorrect. We called and placed a lunch order, told her lunch order specifically. Get there to pick it up and there is a sign on the door saying prices have increased. No longer lunch portions. No new menus due to covid. They charged double what we had budgeted for lunch. The lady was like oh well, like it was our mistake. The food wasn't that good either. This is my go-to Chinese spot because it's easy to get to and they have a pickup window. It's a great spot to go to on a Friday night. Don't want to cook or go out to eat. If you just want to grab some takeout, go home, put on some pj's on and watch some Netflix, then this is the place for you. It's not fancy, and it's not the best Chinese food but it's good and fills that Chinese food craving. The lo mein is pretty good and so is the broccoli beef. The owners are super nice and remember me as a fairly regular customer. I wish they had more soup options though. All they have are small egg drop soup or wonton soup, which is pretty bland, or sweet and sour. I'd love a big bowl of Shin-shan or a big bowl of wonton soup with lots of meat and veggies in it. read more

Quick. Decent. Inexpensive. Nice owners. I think that hits all the positive marks you can expect from a Chattanooga Ameri-nese resto. They don't cook their veggies to death and several dishes now come with the option of either white sauce or brown sauce. The hot and sour is thick and has the usual suspects: tofu, wood ear and chilis. But IMO, it could use a little more vinegar and funk punch. The rice is basic. I do think sometimes they get a little heavy handed with the sodium, but I'm more sensitive to it than most. It's not enough to be a deal breaker. The one thing we do steer clear of is their dumplings. They're the same ones you find in your grocers freezer and aren't very tasty. But the dipping sauce is their own recipe and the SO really likes it. Good Asian food is hard to find in Chattanooga. So I'm glad to have Mr. Wok II as an option when I need a local fix. In the year and a half that I've lived here, I've never heard anyone mention this place and have passed by several times but never considered it. Then, last weekend, two different people within consecutive days recommended this place to me. Actually the second person is one of my employees who brought in their take out, which looked and smelled terrific. So yesterday after work I got the family take out. I was happy to see that there were several tables if you choose to eat in. There was a very friendly lady working the counter, and I believe even cooking. A young, cute little girl with a big smile was with her too, and also took some orders. My employee had mentioned these two and how friendly they were and he was right. I so much rather give my money to friendly, appreciative owner/operators like these two. Food was better than a lot that I've experienced in this area. Prices were nice. And finally, a place not chincy with the little fried noodles that come with the soup! I was too late for the lunch special but that appears to be a great value. They might even offer one at dinner according to the sign taped on the counter. I believe this will be our new Chinese place even though it's way out of the way for us here in Ooltewah. read more

Stick a chopstick in this place they are done. I've been going to this restaurant since the late 90's and I can tell you it's not what it used to be. Where you used to get the best ingredients it all tastes like canned dog food now the beef and chicken stretches when you bite into it which in my personal opinion says glued together meat and it all tasted like the freezer.
