I learned an important lesson today: sometimes you should trust your first lunch instinct…read more A coworker suggested Greek, and my mind immediately went to Adriatic Grill. Instead, we decided to try somewhere new and headed to Pita Corner in Lawrenceville. I ordered the beef shawarma with falafel. Let's start with the positives. The restaurant was clean, the dining area was well kept, and the restroom was spotless. It looked like it had just been cleaned, which I always appreciate. Now for the food. The beef shawarma had decent flavor, but it was so dry that every bite felt like a workout. The meat clung to the roof of my mouth and my teeth like it had signed a lease there. No amount of chewing seemed to improve the experience. Texture matters just as much as seasoning, and unfortunately, this missed the mark. The falafel ended up being the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful, had a nice texture, and was easily the best thing on the plate. I always like giving new places a chance, but this one just wasn't for me. While I appreciated the cleanliness and friendly environment, the food simply didn't leave me wanting to come back. If you'd like, I can also make it a little sharper and funnier for Yelp while still keeping it professional and believable.

Pita Corner is kind of like a fast food restaurant for Mediterranean food. Think of wraps, salads,…read moreand all that jazz. The ambiance was mostly people waiting for their food, so it is not really a spot where you dine in and chat with people. Definitely more of a grab and go spot. I think the service was fine. I got the Chicken Shawarma Pita with Fries on the side. I thought that the chicken shawarma was both dry and juicy at the same time. I think it could have been marinated better. I liked the pickles inside the pita, but they were a bit too strong so it kind of overpowered the chicken shawarma. Moreover, I wish there was more sauce inside of the wrap. The fries were just alright. Overall, I am not sure that I would come back here again. But I think it is a solid spot if you want a quick fix for Mediterranean food.

First time here tonight, service and food were awesome. It was slow since school is starting…read moretomorrow and it was a Tuesday night, but apparently this place gets quite busy regularly. Awesome vibe and the owner clearly put a ton of money, care, love and passion into this place. It feels and looks so authentic. Food was delicious. I wish I remembered all the names, but ask for the appetizer with the filo dough and beef in it. Absolutely amazing. Apparently they are hand made by the owners wife everyday. We got the dinner entree for 2 which was plenty of food. We also tried the lamb entree since it was our first time. We have plenty of left overs for tomorrow which was the goal. The place was very clean, plenty of parking and the (normal) water they bring to the table is actually infused with stuff and very refreshing! Great spot for a date night or just getting some authentic food. Also great for pictures!

I had heard a lot about this restaurant and finally had the chance to meet some friends for lunch…read moretoday. Even after reviewing the menu online, the counter-ordering process can feel a bit overwhelming on your first visit, especially since the menu boards don't line up exactly with what's shown online. No worries, though--the staff is very helpful and happy to guide you through their many great options. My tablemates all enjoyed their selections, and I was very pleased with my Gyro Melt Combo. One thing that really stood out to me was how closely my meal matched the online promo photo--always a nice surprise. While I didn't try any desserts, the cakes and sweet treats on display definitely made me second-guess that decision. Looks like I have a good reason to come back.

From the makers who brought you Marietta Diner comes Yeero Village…read more It's a different style of restaurant compared to that of their predecessors that have become Atlanta staples (Cobb County). The ordering style is that of a fast food joint The service is that of your typical restaurant where they bring the food out to you. So the restaurant itself is very hybrid in terms of how they go about their business. This place is well lit, spacious, and homely yet corporate enough to pass as a franchise type joint. Seats roughly 90 people or so between 4 top tables and booths. It's clean, quaint, and with the traditional Greek soundtrack playing the background, they want you to sort of feel like you're looking at the Aegean Sea while a lyre is playing in the background... but really you're looking at Publix so they can only do so much. Let's go with the food... It's Yeero Village. So I had to try the traditional Greek style Gyro. There is something to be said for the attempt at authentic and it seems like they do it right here. The meat isn't the beef/lamb conglomerate we are all used to when we think "gyro". Here, for it to be authentically Greek, the meat is pork based, not beef based which is typical of the Americanized gyro, which is an interesting take. But rest assured, the gyro was flavorful!!! They married the flavors of the meat which was tender as all get out, the tzatziki sauce, and tomatoes all were balanced and intermingled well. And the pita was fluffy The salad was a bit disappointing. The romaine was shredded and you can't really get a good forkful. The dressing was tart. Too many tomatoes. And just three Kalamata olives??? Come on!!! I did opt for the Greek style potatoes which, I'm glad I did because they were cooked in a way that the flavors seemed to be infused into the potatoes which I was a big fan of! I also had to grab their rice pilaf. The rice was pillowy yet had an al dente texture to it that made each forkful all that more enjoyable! All in all, the folks who brought us Marietta Diner definitely had an idea and developed this place nicely! At $14.95 for a gyro combo with a side of your choice plus the aforementioned salad with tax and your choice for a tip, it's a good $16-$17 meal which is comparable to that of fast food or Panera just a few blocks down! Definitely recommend.

The platter came with a generous portion of both chicken and beef shawarma over flavorful yellow rice, along with fresh salad and creamy garlic sauce. The chicken was juicy, the beef was tender and well-seasoned, and the garlic sauce brought everything together perfectly. The portion was very filling, and this was exactly the Middle Eastern meal I had been hoping for. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes in the future!

Great selection of Middle Eastern goods; was happy to see دبس فليفلة which I haven't seen since I was in Syria and where it is made by the barrel in homes to last the year. The deli also manages good shawarma and the hummus is so delicious! I wish they were more generous with the side of it in the plate (was less than half full). The salad was tasteless; no salt/spices, nor dressing. A previous visit I purchased two cakes: one carrot and the other chocolate. The carrot cake didn't have any carrots in it (looked, but didn't taste like traditional carrot cake), and the chocolate cake wasn't good at all (bitter) except for the frosting. The 'espresso' based coffee was lukewarm and tasteless. The person put condensed milk in it which made it worse but he did remake it without charge. He kept calling me, mama, which was unsettling to me. I have a son less than half his age. I gave only 3 stars because of the overall ambiance and the discourtesy and unfriendliness of the staff. I didn't realize it, but nothing can be returned after two weeks; the manager, however, kindly did return three items.
