Firstly, the presentation of all the dishes came out pretty and fun. We loved all the details and flowers that were presented. I got the lobster avocado toast and was my favorite dish out all the ones I had with my family. The lobster was cooked to perfection and the flavors were all delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. We were also enticed to try the special that they had going on that day which was the whole snapper. Bad choice. The fish wasn't what we expected, flavor and texture wise. We have high standards with seafood and should have known better. Also, it's unwise to order any fish special at any restaurant unless upscale as the fish is normally about to go bad and they will add that "special" price. I removed another star because the bright orange velvet seats were pretty dirty. At least in our booth. The color will never hide any stains so it's like you're sitting on the food people enjoyed before you. Pretty gross feeling but hopefully that was just our experience and not the entire restaurant. Came into the Breakfast Bar for an early breakfast on New Year's Day and it was a great experience. My wife made us reservation a few days before and we were seated immediately when we arrived. The host and waiters were extremely friendly and checked in on us continuously throughout our meal. Our waiter David was quick on his feet with recommendations and were patient with us when we took forever to make up our minds! As for the food, we ordered the chicken and waffle entree with the hot honey flavored tenders and the strawberry cheese cake pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious and the presentation was A1. There were a number of things on the menu we wanted to try, but because it was an our time we decided to play it say. Our server, Michael, truly made the evening unforgettable with his stellar service. His upbeat personality, enthusiasm and extensive knowledge about the menu were impressive, and his recommendations were simply ON POINT! We all felt like Micheal was another family member. He has a way to draw you in and relate to his customers. For my entree of choice, indulged in the Sizzling Steak Skillet, which was amazing (Michael's recommendation) I loved that every meal was served piping hot just the way I love it! For my drink of choice, I elected the espresso martini topped with whip cream, and it was DEEEEEEELISH! We also tried the Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer, and oh my! We decided to try The Breakfast Bar for a friend's birthday brunch. Since several of us were traveling from out of state, we made sure to make our reservation weeks in advance. A couple of us arrived about 30 minutes early, but since our whole party wasn't there we had to wait to be seated, which was fine. Unfortunately, once our whole party was there (10 minutes ahead of our reservation time), we had to wait 40 minutes from our reservation time to be seated because they'd seated a party of 3 at the only table big enough to accommodate our 7 person group. We were frustrated, BUT! They made up for it with amazing service and food. I ordered the Blackened Salmon with greens and macaroni and cheese. I didn't like the greens because they were sweet, but they switched them out for mashed potatoes without issue. My friend had the spinach and mashed potatoes with hers. It was delicious as well. Not pictured: since I couldn't choose just one entree, I had two. I had chicken and waffles, too. I was impressed with how fresh and hot the chicken was. We also shared the seafood dip and it was delicious. I shared Shrimp and Grits with my friend and was impressed by how perfectly salted and creamy the grits were. The space was clean, well lit and played good music. It wasn't too loud so we were able to enjoy conversing and catching up. Our server, Ray, was great. The atmosphere didn't seem all that welcoming and after looking at their menu we are kind of glad we passed. Their prices do not seem reasonable at all. Came on a Sunday late morning to enjoy a brunch and were asked if we had a reservation. We said we didn't and while there were several tables empty, she said the tables might be needed for a reservation. We weren't really feeling the vibe of this restaurant and probably will not return. This was my first trip to The Breakfast Bar. Unfortunately, I don't know if I would take another trip back here. My issue came with the food and overall restaurant "principles". Although the food was very good and seasoned well, everything was way overpriced. They charged $5 for a sweet tea and no refills were included (all drinks). The drink sizes were also way smaller than the restaurant standard. $12 for fried green tomatos and you only get 3 tomato slices? Too many additional rules on their website and this pricing that doesn't make sense to enjoy your time here. If you are planning on coming on a weekend, make sure you have reservations. We ordered the fried green tomatoes ($15) to start. It came with 3 large slices that were breaded, fried and seasoned to perfection topped with feta cheese. I had the strawberry cheesecake pancakes ($16) They were sweet and delicious I just wish they had more whipped cheesecake topping. My husband had chicken and waffles ($18) which he enjoyed very much. We also had a side of bacon and eggs ($5 each) and a glass of pineapple juice ($5). The food arrived quickly all at the same time within about 10 minutes including the appetizer. I don't even know where to begin. This was a first time, hot mess, will not be returning experience. My mom picked this restaurant for brunch to celebrate her birthday with the family. When our party of 6 arrived at 12:53 pm we were told it would be a 1.5 hour wait. The family was okay with this wait (first mistake) as I would never wait over 30-45 mins for food. There's not much of a waiting area inside the restaurant so we stood outside to wait. As time went on I went inside to check on our status & I was told that they called my phone with no answer. I never received a call & again we were standing right outside the door the entire time and no one ever came out to call my name. There were two other parties there dealing with the same issue as us. There was a-lot of back & forth between myself and other customers with 2 different "managers", miscommunication between the two hostesses, a-lot of more waiting & offered free mimosas and mango lemonade for all the customers waiting. AND during all of this chaos one of the "managers" was seen sitting and mingling with their VIP table as I'm hearing the hostess tell another customer she can't guarantee what the wait time is because it's taking time to turn over the tables & they have managers working the kitchen line. At this point I was ready to go but my mom drove 45 minutes & got everyone together for her birthday so she was trying to stick it out through the chaos that was happening. After about 1 hour & 20 mins of this disorganization the hostess started going outside to call people's names and stopped accepting walk ins as the restaurant clearly couldn't handle their reservations and walk-in waitlist customers at the same time. I've eaten at many many many restaurants and I've never seen anything like this before. When we finally got seated we were given a heads up that the kitchen was backed up. I did warn my family to put something in their stomach before they came & I'm glad everyone listened. Our waiter was very friendly & attentive in checking in on us before we got our food & during the rest of our meal. Mostly everyone enjoyed their food besides the Lobster Mac & cheese which my sister said was too salty. My mom loved the aesthetic of the Red Velvet Waffle Tower that she was determined to have for her birthday but 3 of us tried the waffle and it was rubbery. The regular waffles that came with the chicken & waffles meal were really good though. The staff also does a birthday celebration song with a chocolate cake that my mom enjoyed as well. Although the food was good, the un-organization of this restaurant will not have me back anytime soon. We were sat at a table at first because no booths where available but we booked for a booth. Eventually (maybe 15 min) we were able to switch to a booth. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful. Family environment. The music was a very nice mix. The food was pretty good. We had seafood dip as the appetizer, seafood pasta & the strawberry waffle lollipops. The seafood paste was really good after it cooled down some. I think the flavors come in more and can taste it better when it cools down. The only thing was the bread was too hard. This is enough to share but the bread will be finished before the dip. The pasta was pretty good. Me personally would of liked the pasta a little less done.. just by a minute or 2. We visited the Breakfast Bar on September 26 to celebrate my little sister's birthday in the morning. We didn't need a reservation and were seated right away, which was a great start. Our server, Deuce, was incredibly helpful--especially since I have a shrimp allergy. He guided me through the menu, letting me know what I could and couldn't have, which I really appreciated. My little sister absolutely loved her chicken and waffles topped with that delicious white sauce, and my other sister enjoyed her omelette with a perfectly baked biscuit on the side. Our servers etiquette were standard, zero complaints.
