I LOVE this restaurant!! It is a family-run establishment and the family is very nice. The restaurant is usually very clean, but you can tell they get slammed every now and then. I went in one time and literally every seat was taken! And they have a very heavy take-out business thanks to the hospital. I admit, this is one of my family's favorite restaurants literally since the day they opened. The food is fantastic. I grew up eating a lot of Mediterranean food and this is some of the best I've had since I left home. The food is always fresh and I love the mixed grill platter. The kaftas are done to perfection with the outside a little crisp and the inside nice and tender. The beef shish kabobs are also cooked beautifully with very tender meat. I've never had the gyro meat dry which happens at some other places that serve gyros. To me, the best way to tell how fresh the food is at a restaurant is by looking at the raw veggies - the lettuce, cucumbers, etc., and those are ALL very fresh and crisp. I've never had wilted lettuce from here. The baklava is wonderful and they have pistachio and walnut. The ambiance is very nice without being overly dark, industrial, or any other "chic" version. Today's lunch was a complete disappointment, and overpriced to boot. We ordered Beef Shawarma Sandwich and Shish Kabob sandwich. Only one table was occupied upon our entry, but our order took a surprisingly long time to prepare. The meat in both sandwiches was tough and old-tasting. The Greek potatoes didn't taste Greek; rather more like square French fries. Personnel was inattentive, impersonal and listless in their execution. There was no designated basket or container to dump your dirty silverware and meal baskets. My wife and I have eaten at Real Olive a number of times in the past and were quite pleased with those visits, but it has been at least a year since our last visit. Best I can tell, the place is under new management or new ownership. I can tell you - today's experience was a stark contrast to what we had come to expect. I was very disappointed upon walking in....so much so that my family and I turned around and left without ordering. The pictures featured are from over 10years ago and the place has not held up. There were no customers seated inside and yet there was a table filled with dirty dishes and uneaten food. There was debris on the floor and a very unappealing odor. I love Mediterranean food so I wanted to go try it. My husband and I shared the Lunch Special: Mixed Grill Platter that comes with kufta kabob, Shish kabob and gyro slices plus two sides (we picked Greek Salad and Tabouleh (+$1). We also ordered a small hummus plate. While my husband was paying, I saw that they had Baklawa and then the sweet girl that works (owns?) there gave us some to try. It was very nice of her! We ate here twice while caring for a relative at Northside Hospital. The food was delicious! There was something for everyone-the vegetarians and the meat eaters. Generous portions. I recently stopped by here for the first time. I had a meeting with some Palestinians who spoke highly about this place. When trying it, I had the humus (that's a small size) and The Sirloin Gyro. Avoid this scam of a restaurant. I've been eating there practically since they opened. Today I placed an online order, which I've started to do because they've gotten so slow. When I showed up 45 minutes after they were supposed to have opened, the doors were locked and the lights were off. This gem came into my life after driving past it for like the last year! I had a crazy hankering for good falafel. It was busy when I walked in, which I always take as a good sign. I order through Uber eats and was not impressed by any means which sucks because there seem to be a lot of positive reviews. First off my order for just the food not including delivery, fees etc. was $33. The quality didn't match the price, I've had better food from athen gyro/places like that and they are the most unauthentic you can get. My gyro was extremely small and I don't know what was done done to the meat but it was bland and just fell apart in my mouth super unpleasant. I can here for the gyro and I will continue to go to my regular place or when they aren't open like to today to pick something else. Lastly the somewhat saving grace was the tzatziki its taste homemade and was delicious, i also go the chicken platter and the it was beyond dry. For $22 dollars I would expect a bit more than a quarter cup or rice, and a few pieces of lettuce. The flavor was okay but the food experience was extremely disappointing. read more

Went here with the bf since Groupon decided to give me a $20 code to use. It was Sunday around lunch time, and the place was empty. But as we ordered and waited on our food, lots more people came in. The gal taking our order was informative and nice. We were trying to meet a minimum order, and she suggested we do some subbing of what we wanted instead of paying more out of pocket. :) The food was delish and nothing out of the ordinary. The spanakopita was pretty good. It sounds strange, but the ricotta and feta cheeses blended the spinach well. The kufta kabob sandwich and shish kabob sandwiches were delish! I usually go for the gyro since it's the safest, but the pre-marinated beef in the shish was flavorful and tender. The Greek fries were crispy and hot too when it came out. Now! I haven't been to many Mediterranean restaurants. But!!!!! I have been looking and passing this place for a while. And before they made this spot a home, I was hoping that a nice restaurant would come to the area. Once I saw that it was going to be a Mediterranean spot, I was thrilled.......thinking something different on my palate for a change. Well!!!! I don't know why I never reviewed this place before! It's so close to home, literally takes 10 minutes if you are in the old Suwanee area. Had some great halal food here! The wait time varies with how busy it is. Despite one or two people cooking, we only waited 15 minutes. There were loads of pick up orders (so many people came in and out) but cooking/serving time is surprisingly well managed. We were very happy about that! You might view the mixed platter as a "meh, so typical" type of thing, but NOPE. It's so simple, yet the meat was exceptionally juicy & flavorful! The rice was very well seasoned too. My husband got the beef kofta sandwich with Greek potatoes, and he absolutely loved it. The beef is chargrilled, so it added that much more of a punch. Both of our orders came with tzaziki sauce. I'd put this place up towards the top in regards to Mediterranean places in Gwinnett county. The food is great, very flavorful and very well prepared. Additionally, the tea tastes very authentic. A couple of things to be cognizant of though: * It sits next to a nail salon so up near the counter it smells like nail polish remover. If you are eating there, grab a table back by the wall and you won't be bothered by the scent. * When we went on a Friday night it looked very dark and empty when we first walked in.
