Stopped by this place with my boyfriend to treat ourselves to lunch. The man at the counter (possibly the owner) was super friendly and engaging right away, very thorough at explaining how his counter service works and what everything was. Very friendly and open customer service; we felt very welcome. The fist thing I noticed was how incredibly fresh and high quality all of his produce and cooked products looked. I've been to other mid eastern/Mediterranean build-your-own places before and are usually disappointed by lack of food turnover or mediocre quality product in general. The stuff here looked gorgeous, and when we dug in everything was perfectly seasoned, well balanced, crunchy (where appropriate) and bright flavored. The bowls are filling while being super healthy and delicious, and are a good price ($12-14 and I saved half for dinner. I honestly expect this to be just as good as cold leftovers later today). Also, the fact that there was such a lovely variety of options that all looked so bright and fresh was impressive to me. You guys are nailing your pars and FIFOing righteously. I'm a chef, and this place is going to be a neighborhood go-to now for healthy delicious lunches. This place makes healthy food crave-able. I only want to eat this now (when I'm not cooking at home). I can afford it as a little treat even after being laid off. I'm going to tell all my friends in Burbank to check this place out. Went in on July 12th, first timer. The outside looks nice and welcoming and caught my eye. Hummus Republic? I love hummus so makes sense to check it out. Happy to see all the vegan options but not everything is which is not the problem. It's the woman in the from who doesn't have the patience nor the right attitude. She asked if it's my first time and she was harsh and tried to rush me and my friend out. I accidentally ordered something that wasn't vegan and the guy that ended up helping me was kind about it. Glad he jumped in for my order but my friend wasn't so lucky. Honestly the food was great but I don't know if I want to come back if that woman is there. Woah! So happy Hummus Republic opened up in downtown Burbank. Stumbled upon them during their soft opening yesterday. The food was amazing! Their menu is vegan/ vegetarian friendly. They have amazing options for meat lovers too. The concept is a build your own. I tried their mushroom shawarma on a baguette and it was just out of this world. The pice is very affordable. I loved the bowl that I ordered because it was super fresh and I was starving. The servings are pretty massive so you can easily eat the same bowl for lunch and dinner. I could smell the fresh ingredients as soon as I stepped through the door. However, there wasn't anything particularly special about the flavor and I didn't care for the sauces. Don't get me wrong, fresh ingredients go a long way and I'll definitely be back but it wasn't anything mouth watering like CAVA. It's pretty hard to get quick, easy, vegan options so I was satisfied. The falafel tastes like restaurant quality food! The spreads are super flavorful and many are dairy-free/ vegan! The portions are also generous. (Good for one very hungry person or for two meals). I think they just opened and I can easily say their food was very clean and very good. I ordered the bowl with falafel. The falafel was very crispy freshly made. They do not skimp on the amount of toppings they give you and it's very filling. I believe the owner was there and he very kind. Would definitely come back when I'm in Burbank. I'm so blown away by the customer service here I just need to come and shout them out real quick. So helpful from the moment I walked in, made my falafel fresh for me even though there was still falafel available on the line, explained all my options and just overall was incredibly accommodating. AND THEN then even came to check on me outside and asked if I needed anything. It's funny cuz I needed napkins but I didn't want to be an inconvenience so I said I was fine and 5 seconds later he came back and brought me napkins anyway. Food is fresh, portions are large. Was strolling around downtown Burbank with my fiancé looking for a fresh, healthy option for dinner. On our way to Tender Greens, we saw this place and decided to try it instead. BEST. DECISION. EVER!!! The owner greets you right as you walk through the door and offers you fresh falafel if it's your first time in. Very attentive - there was a table that needed to be wiped down and right when we were going to sit, someone came right over to wipe it off. Staff are definitely on top of their game. The food is *delicious!* We tried a custom pita apiece and WOW, all of the flavors blend beautifully! The fried chickpeas are an especially great addition to the pita and add a wonderful element of crispy-crunchy goodness. There's also something for everyone here - there are vegan options, gluten-free options, meat options, and more, with so many combinations that it would be borderline impossible to come here and leave without finding something perfect for your palate. My first time trying Hummus Republic and I have to say I was thoroughly surprised. The flavor, quality, and amount of food that I ordered for one bowl was amazing. I will definitely continue to support and can't wait to try the rest of their menu. On my first order, I tried the falafel bowl with beets, cucumbers, herbs, zesty feta dip, and chickpea croutons. Holy crap this place is so good. Every business that's been in this space before has been terrible and folded so quickly. I'm glad there's finally a keeper!! The gal that helped me let me taste everything. I got a bowl and loaded it up with so many delicious things! I agree with what everyone else is saying - the food is really fresh and delicious! The issue I have ordering in person is there's a lot of options, too many in my opinion. For example, there's both a feta spread and feta cheese option. Why? With almost nobody in front of me, building my custom pita took awhile (and no, it wasn't because I was indecisive). I can't imagine how long the line would take when the place is busy. Get rid of some of these redundant options and slim down your menu to something closer to Chipotle. read more

My family and I went to the grand opening on 8/9 - the food was fantastic!!!!! They did a great job with promoting the opening! The staff is super friendly and colorful! Great discount and the regular prices, based on what we had yesterday, appear to be a great value. My wife and I had the "bowls" while my kids had baguettes. I would note that the "baguette" is not a true French baguette it's more a "hero" or "sub" roll. That said their version of baguette was OK and did a nice job of absorbing the juices/sauces that my kids chose. I do highly recommend bowl - the ingredients/choices were so fresh and many were ORGANIC!!! Yes!!!! I hope Burbank comes through and helps this place thrive. A make your own Mediterranean joint. A good amount of options with three main - bowl, pita and Baguette. My choice was pita. The spreads come next which were all amazing. They let you taste each one, make sure to ask! Lot of choices for the toppings. The ones supposed to be be warm are kept warm which is good. Some good sauce options in the end - Grandmas sauce, Moroccan hot sauce were some different ones. Overall it was great! Food was delicious, a small shop so ambience was what'd you expect - normal with a few tables for seating. But hey it's in the heart of Burbank so you shouldn't expect anything more! read more

It took a few tries to figure out the perfect combination, so here's my advice for any newcomers: -Definitely go with the bowl if it's your first time. You get 3 types of spreads, so it's the best way to sample the most of what they have vs. trying to fit a bunch onto a pita. -Spreads: I recommend eggplant hummus, harissa hummus, and zesty feta. The only one I did not care for was the olive hummus. -Toppings: Favorites are the chickpea croutons and the red hot sauce. Can't go wrong with olives, onions, etc. Staff here is super friendly. I absolutely love the food here. And when we've eaten here the service has always been great. But apparently they just close wherever they feel like it. We drove from Hollywood to eat here today and the door was locked. I called and a guy answered the phone and basically told me he closed because there wasn't enough business to stay open and he was "there alone." Looking though the door and there's food on the line. Just no one in there. I guess I'm not going to go out of my way to go there anymore. And considering the fact that we don't live in the area, we can only really go out of our way to go there.
