Picked up take out from Humbowl in Berkeley on a Saturday afternoon. Located on busy College Ave, parking and traffic may be tough but you should be able to find spaces on neighboring side streets. The Thai curry bowl was delicious with a generous amount of roasted veggies and rice. The shrimp and tofu bowls were great too after mixing in the included sauce. The restaurant was clean with about 6-7 tables. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal - the food was prepared with fresh ingredients and tasted healthy. Our to-go boxes were secured well and organized in the take out bag. I'm glad I checked and asked for utensils since we were eating this on the go. Although the food was excellent, the employee's service felt quite distant and could have been more engaging.

Went for a Yelp event! The place was so cute and tidy. I got the seasonabowl (fall) with shrimp. I also purchased a drink- the strawberry passion. The bowl was good, especially with the mustard dressing with it, it gave it a little kick. I wish I would've added chili flakes to add a little spice to it. The staff were kind and knowledgeable about the menu.

Healthy, fresh, fast, and flavorful; what's not to love? Oh, and given the quality and location, reasonably priced! This is what fast food only wishes it could be, complete with vegan options and seasonal specialties. You get your food in a flash, and you can even see it being cooked from the open kitchen, so you can get in your way without any wait, it enjoy the spare but cool dining area. Free cucumber water seals the deal for me. If I was nearby, I'd come back on the daily!

Yum! My kids LOVE this place, which, as a mom of two grade school boys, means the world. I love that they get a healthy meal that they devour and I get to know that they got all the nutrients they needed, all super quick and reasonably priced. I am a huge fan of spicy food and enjoyed the homemade salsa (I even grabbed a bottle of my own on the way out). Super friendly staff and clean happy place. I only wish I lived closer so we could come weekly.

Still a winner. Fresh, healthy and fast. While not cheap - think about $15-$18 for a dish (with tax and tip), you leave feeling satiated, but not weighed down. I always opt for the dish with the most vegetables since they do them so well. Make sure to include some hot sauce to spice up the dish, as it leans a bit bland (I'd imagine because they keep additives to a minimum).

Great healthy to-go option that is also tasty! Counter service restaurant with plenty of seating inside. I got mine to go, and it carried well and they use compostable packaging. You can also order online for added convenience. The food is a healthy portion, cooked wonderfully, and the cilantro ginger sauce is absolutely delicious. They should sell the sauce by itself! The service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I appreciate that they include neurodiversity in their support of diversity.

Delivery directly from their app. Love that you can customize your order and everything was neatly packaged!

Fresh, healthy, and delicious! Love this place! It's our go-to for a guilt free tasty meal. Everything is dairy free! Their sauces are all delicious; vibrant and savory. Sustainable packaging. The owner Eric is so nice! What's not to love? Tip: Order through their website/app for menu pricing, plus loyalty points!

Excellent, healthy, and nutritious food. Can't say enough about how sweet the staff are here. Prices are very affordable.

We were looking for a quick, healthy place to eat, and Humbowl hit the spot. The bowls were large and packed with healthy veggies. The proteins were fresh, and the sauces were really what took it to the next level. The service was friendly, but the location itself isn't that comfortable. I would order to-go.

Humbowl catered my wedding in October 2024! My husband and I couldn't be happier. Eric (one of the owners) let us do a free tasting, made a custom sauce for us, and was able to accommodate lots of vegetarians and vegans. They worked within the confines of the venue with no issues. Another thing included in the price was travel from Berkeley (Humbowl location) to Cupertino (venue location). Also, they were cognizant of our guests; the custom sauce was Indian-inspired for our Indian-American wedding. :) They had never done a wedding before, but you couldn't tell at all. Humbowl was friendly, professional, organized, fast, and priced well. We got tons of compliments on the food; it was fresh and delicious. Thank you, Humbowl!! Look how spiffy they look in the catering attire!!

Not that there was anything wrong with that as they make solid Indian food there (review: https://bit.ly/3ipWnWB). But does that make them experts at lasagna? Not really as I ordered the $16.95 Mushroom Lover Mac Vegan presuming it would be lasagna. and what arrived was nothing Italiano but more a baked macaroni (photo: https://bit.ly/3GVjbqy). Not that there was anything wrong with that except when your mouth is ready for lasagna, you don't really want to digest mac n' cheese. I could've bought something cheaper at Safeway, but at least it was filling. What did help, however, was the $5.96 Vegan Fudge Brownie which did bring me unequivocal joy and a buttload of calories (photo: https://bit.ly/3ix0IXS). We were a party of three and definitely over ordered- the Sicilian style Ray J, Truly thin and crispy, and arancini, but zero regrets. The Truly thin and crispy really reminded me of the Ciccino at Truly Pizza in Dana Point, which is my favorite pizza spot in the world! As the name suggests, it's very thin and crispy and I loved the texture. Great as an appetizer pizza lol. Thick square focaccia style pizza is definitely my preference, which is why the Ray J Sicilian was my favorite here. The toppings are generous, love the large chunks of cheese and the hot honey on this one. The arancini we got was also amazing, it had a slight lemony tang to it and some veggies inside which balanced out all the fried cheesiness in it. Would super recommend Pizzeria da Laura, and come in a large party if you can! I think my only downside is the bathroom situation as you have to take a key to take the elevator downstairs and it was hard to get a hold of the key, but maybe try to come at a less busy time. That reminds me, for sure make a reservation for weekends! Super easy to do on their website. Service by everyone was very kind and they were helpful explaining the difference between all their pizzas.

The location is excellent. It's within walking distance of UC Berkeley, just a minute from Downtown Berkeley BART, and there's a public parking garage a block away. Another nice touch is the market next door. They sell pizza by the slice, snacks, and drinks. I would've been there 100% during my college days. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and inviting. You can watch the pizzas being made, and there's also a TV if you want to catch a game while you eat. It had a relaxed neighborhood feel that made us want to stay a little longer. Having delivered for Round Table back in the '90s, I have an appreciation for the flow of a pizza operation. Everything felt organized and efficient. We started with the Chicories & Beets salad. It was fresh, crisp, and a perfect way to start the meal. We ordered the 18" NY Ray J and Detroit The Standard. Detroit The Standard was my favorite. The crispy, caramelized cheese edges were incredible, while the inside stayed light and airy. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, not soggy at all. Every topping tasted fresh, and the balance of pepperoni, sausage, onions, olives, and sauce was spot on. The NY Ray J was just as impressive. The crust had the perfect balance of crispiness and chew, making it easy to fold. The combination of thin and thick pepperoni, creamy burrata, fresh basil, fermented honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano was outstanding. Every slice came with a great cheese pull. Both pizzas had crispy crusts, fresh toppings, quality ingredients, and just the right amount of sauce. We left feeling satisfied, not heavy or bloated. We visited on a Wednesday, and by dinner time the restaurant was full. That's always a good sign. One of the highlights of the visit was chatting with Chef Laura about dough, ingredients, and technique. It gave me an even greater appreciation for the attention to detail that goes into every pizza, and I picked up a few ideas that will definitely improve my homemade pizza game. I'm actually eating the leftovers as I write this review. They reheat beautifully. The crust stays crispy, the toppings still taste fresh, and they're just as satisfying the next day. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Whether you're a Berkeley local or just passing through, Pizzeria da Laura is absolutely worth the trip.

We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails. If an Italian place can't make a decent chicken parm sandwich nor a decent meatball, that says something. If you go, try the pinsa.
