From the get go, Dion was very communicative and provided updates leading up to the move date and time. When the job started, they finished in just about 3 hours. Special shoutout to my girl India who initially broke the ice with me and my family, making a very stressful day one we could laugh about and enjoy. Not to mention she is probably the strongest person I've met! And Malik, again, didn't waste a minute working. He must have been up and down those steps no less than 30 times and did the job with a smile on his face. I had such a great experience with them that I hired them to finish another company's botched unloading job at the new address. Literally texted Dion at 10 PM last night, and they were at the unit unloading 12 hours later. Props to Rosco for loading my storage unit in a way that makes sense and would make a Tetris gamer proud. 11 out of 10 would recommend.

I had the company come out on 09/20/2025 what an experience not in a good way. As I was leaving, I was shocked to see my entertainment center at the entryway of the complex (broken in parts). It literally fell out of their truck. Of course, in a panic, I frantically park my car to move it the best I could out of the entrance to the complex before any cars tried to leave. I reached out to the team that left and was told they couldn't come back for 45 minutes. I immediately fired off emails stating what happened. My entire day was ruined because I had to stick around to see if the items were going to get picked and I felt the need to drive around to see what else dropped out the truck. No surprise as soon as I finished pulling the entertainment center to the curb and getting back in my car, I turned the corner out of the complex to find a large piece of a computer desk in the middle of the road near the major intersection. I went into another panic because cars were running over the board and I was afraid it might flip to hit someone's car. I again raced to park to see if I could run out into the middle of the road before cars came but the piece was run over several times that it landed in the worse location with the view being blocked by oncoming traffic from the opposite end. I couldn't get a grip on the board because cars were coming so I'm literally in the road trying to kick the board to the side of the road with my foot (yes it was painful). Luckily, one car saw my efforts and stopped. It was not a cool temperature day and I'm no spring chicken (which I'm surprised I didn't have any health issues from the adrenaline, embarrassment, frustration and desperation to move these items). Since I couldn't leave this heavy board on the side of the road, I'm literally trying to carry this wood board back to where the entertainment center fell out the truck (definitely not a short walk). It was exhausting and humiliating to run around and lift items that should've been hauled away given the amount paid for just a few items. I finally was able to speak with a representative who made an offer based on my troubles created by their team. I agreed to the offer from the representative and waited what is more than a reasonable time period (9/22/2025 to12/2/2025) without any luck. While there are things that can happen when the team is working from one job to the next, it is more important how the company handles the issue with the customer that can change how the overall experience is viewed. It makes the difference in showing that a small company stands by it's service and sets it aside from the bigger companies. Unfortunately, I was extremely reasonable even when the worker was going to lose a week of work for the incident. I was completely against this in today's economy and just asked that improved quality standards be in place so it doesn't happen again. I understand the workers are doing this all day so things are going to happen. Again, it's not about what happened during the service as the biggest issues, it's about how it is handled by the company. I do everything I can to support small businesses but I think the more I do the more problems I experience. As someone who wants to extend as much grace as possible, the constant waiting on the USPS at this point is beyond reasonable. Nevertheless, I wish the company the best and hope they take this as a lesson learned to improve how to resolve issues immediately. I didn't expect to be part of the crew that day with having to move my own heavy items out of the street when I paid for someone else to do it.

Dave and his crew took the time to carefully wrap all of our furniture as if it were their own, and his attention to detail was truly impressive. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work and his service. We were so impressed that we even recommended Dave to our daughter for her local move, and she had the same positive experience. Even when one of his movers had a family emergency, Dave didn't miss a beat, he had another mover lined up right away so everything stayed on schedule. This is a front/scheduling company and independent contractor operation (like many other movers)…read more We had a slightly complex billing situation in which one person (out of town) was paying for the move of a friend. They screwed that up completely (no communication with the driver/contractor at all about it and that is on the company). The truck missed its 2 hour window by 2 full hours. No communication at all about this fact from the company and no apologies from the driver at all. This meant we also missed the load-in window at the move-to address. In a town with so many buildings with scheduled load-out/load-in you have to hit your promised widows (or at least come close). The movers themselves were good guys. Polite, quick, and generally careful (one item did get broken). That said, they had the bad sense to tell us they had been up for 36 hours straight. Ignoring the ethics of such work rules, if this was all work for DC Movers, that's insane. All in all, I've had much better moving experiences with multiple other options. Use one of them. There are plenty of better options in DC.

We were on a time crunch between packing and physically moving within a week and a half (landlord sold the house) and My DC Movers made it happen. They called to confirm our appointment 24 hours in advance and called to let us know when they were on their way (slightly early but definitely OK with me). Only moving from NW to NE, but all of our belongings and memories were moved in two hours, start to finish. Warm and fuzzy they were not, but they did move my furniture with care and came with plastic wrap to wrap our couches. If you are short on tape, boxes, etc they have that too. Oh and I almost forgot, they are very reasonably priced. In conclusion....if you are in need of movers, My DC Movers is the way to go 100%!

Negligent drivers and dissapointly dismissive ownersip - was involved in a collision with a PayDay…read moredriver in downtown Baltimore where the driver hit my passenger fender, tearing it, as he was aggresively switching lanes before an intersection to make the light (where he then blocked traffic in that intersection - photos attached). When I was able to pull up to his truck to talk with him, he immeditaely began yelling at me that I hit him....Sir.........if you are a a driver for a company i would HOPE that you have a basic understanding of the following: "Vehicles that do not enter a traffic lane safely are responsible for any incidents that occur as a result of their entry into the lane. In a similar manner, when a merging driver changing lanes cause a collision, the merging vehicle is almost always to blame." If my car is stationary in a lane, and you hit me changing langes, YOU are at fault. I digress..... When he would not reason, I called the owner of the company (who I previously very breifly called immediately following the incident) and left a voicemail to which he NEVER responded. Due to this, a police report must be filed to get my damages repaired. Just know.....if you are willing to hire this company, their workers are not only negligent, but will also scream roadside at young women, with NO care from owner/management.
