Honestly this was top 3 experiences that I've had as a foodie. I grew up watching chopped and this may be the closest thing (or even better honestly) that I'll get! This was essentially a 6 course meal because we each had a personal dish from each chef for each course. Chef Bryan (Who won) and Chef Christian (who appeared on chopped a few times) both did PHENOMENAL!! When I booked it I thought we would at least be sharing the app and dessert but nope. Left SUPER full and satisfied. We were even given to go boxes for every meal that we needed. Then we voted for which chef we wanted to win and scored each meal. The hosts were SUPER attentive and treated us great even though we were 5 min late haha. The drinks were also amazing. Great ambiance! Def a good place to go with a date or just friends and family. After hearing great things about Hudson Table, I surprised my husband with tickets to a chef competition dinner. We watched chefs Pablo and Amanda race the clock and try to impress us, and it was such a fun time. Amanda was definitely bubbly and willing to chat with anyone while she was cooking, and it was interesting to watch their techniques. My husband loves cooking, so he was eating this up, literally and figuratively! I wasn't sure what to expect for portion sizes, but we were extremely impressed that each person got 6 sizable plates, where we actually had to take leftovers home because we were so full. In our opinion, totally worth the ticket price. It was just the right amount of people in the room so that it didn't feel overcrowded but kept the energy high! My husband enjoyed his cocktails too. Everything was delicious, and it was fun to rate each plate on taste, presentation, and creativity. The discussion afterwards with the room as to why everyone chose their winner was a great way to end the night, and everyone was a good sport. This was one of the most fun events we've attended and we would definitely get tickets to another chef competition! read more

The experience itself was pleasant, and the chefs clearly have skill--they were able to make the food taste good. However, the quality of the ingredients was extremely disappointing, especially for a meal that cost nearly $200 with tip. The most concerning part was seeing Velveeta used. It's a processed cheese product, not real cheese, and it had no place on a menu at this price point. I genuinely did not want to eat the dish once I realized this, and customers should not feel that way when paying for a premium dining experience. Additionally, the seasonings and canned ingredients appeared very low quality, which looked like they were purchased at Dollar Tree. This further undermined the value of the meal. Overall, while the execution was decent, the ingredient quality was far below expectations. I did not feel that I received what I paid for. read more

My boyfriend got me a cooking class as a gift here and it was so much fun! The class we signed up for was a four course meal, including Zuppa Toscana, Gnudi Pomodoro, Pollo Milanese, and Nutella Bomboloni. Not only did they teach us how to make these recipes, but also some general kitchen etiquette and techniques, so we really felt like (somewhat) professionals by the end of the class. It was an intimate class, only us and one other couple so we were able to work together to prepare the food rather quickly. The food turned out delicious. They also have a wine, beer and cocktail menu to order from. To go containers were provided as well because it is a lot of food made! I highly recommend a class -- they told us they host birthday parties, as well as competition for other chefs that you could attend and judge too. read more

Came here for the chef competition and it was hands-down, the coolest experience. It is expensive, but it's 100% worth the money you get so much food and all the food is absolutely delicious. The quality of all the ingredients was top-notch. We came a couple and we were seated with another couple so keep that in mind if you are not into that, but personally, we thought it was great. We became very friendly with the other couple that were students so it was a great time. The competition includes a mystery basket, so in mystery basket there was ground turkey, fish, and other complementary ingredients. The chefs and everyone running the event were super friendly and very fun to talk to and watch cook. The location itself is gorgeous and really well cleaned. It felt really luxurious to have two private chefs fighting to cook for you. Everyone else was really gracious at the end of the cookoff you vote and you reveal who you voted for and everyone was so kind to the chef During the judging. I would 100% come back. This was an amazing experience and I'm so happy we went. read more

My husband and I went to Hudson Table (Stamford) last night with a handful of other friends, and it was nothing short of AMAZING. It was the 2nd time we did one of these price-fixed menu nights with our friends. You sit right there at the U-shaped counter watching the talented and creative chefs prepare your food. 4 courses with all fresh ingredients that the chefs go out and get at the best local markets/farms. Chef Cristina (and her sous chef, Chris) are truly gifted. They were our chefs last time too and they create the most delicious and beautiful courses with color, texture, and amazing flavors that just melt in your mouth. As the chef serves each course to you, she explains what ingredients went into the dish and how they prepared it. They also work with you if you have a food allergy, and they provide a lovely substitute for any ingredient that you have an allergy to. The wine list is really nice too as are the specialty cocktails that they create. I've attached a pic of our menu (which changes each time you go), and I've attached some pics of our courses---but nothing beats actually biting into these delicate and delicious courses. HT is not just a place to go and have dinner, it's an experience and a special treat! Forget the Michelin-star-rated restaurants and go to HT. You'll leave happy and full. We were very disappointed. -the event had no resemblance to an Iron Chef competition and the chefs made no attempt to adhere to the "clock"; to feign competition or intensity of any sort or to engage the guests. The "hosts" were inexperienced and completely un engaged but quick to grab my credit card for the open bar before I even had my coat off. -the preparations were a ton of food but did not adhere to the formula of appetizer, entree and dessert. Rather we got 4 entrees and 2 desserts. With the dishes closely mimicking each other in taste and style. - as far as the party atmosphere we were completely unable to hook up our personal music playlist and the room was loud and inviting fir conversation. You would be well served to have your team experience the Hudson Table offering in Brooklyn where the concept is much better executed. read more

This was a great way to spend an evening with friends. We paid extra for the counter seating and watching the chefs was not disappointing. I think, I would save this for a date night and not an outing with friends as to truly experience the chefs preparing the food, you need to pay attention, which is difficult when you are with another couple. The amount of food you receive is overwhelming. They prepare 2 full sized meals for each guest, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts, so come very hungry. I am not talking those tiny European style portions, I am talking about huge farm-to-table sized portions. The good news is that they will allow you to box up your leftovers to bring home. I wish I took down he name of the chef/sous chef on both teams, one was a team of men and the other a team of women. Unlike cooking shows you see, they do know, before you arrive, what they are cooking with. They can add additional items from the kitchen, but they are not allowed to add any additional proteins. They keep strictly to the 3 hour timeframe for the meal and time it so that they stop short of walking you to the door, but after 3 hours you are ready to go home and relax. The cocktails were fantastic! They are not included in the price though, it would be nice I think to have your first cocktail included in the price, but that is a little nit-picky. The wait staff was good, very friendly. NOTE, your tip is required in advance when you book your reservation. I am not sure if this hurts or helps the staff. Clearly you can always add an extra tip. Each round of cooking/plating is timed, if a chef does not hit the timeframe, their time is removed from the next round. The chef (male) that we were seated in front of, missed his times for each of the first 2 rounds. The food for each round was very good, with a split decision on each round for our table. You have the ability to get up and walk around and see what the chefs are preparing, though we did not do that as we were with friends catching up on family. The only reason I am giving this a 4 out of 5 stars is the personality of the male chef team, who I actually voted to win based on their food. When asked a couple of questions by guests, which is hyped as part of the experience to the male team, the responses were a little off-putting. With many responses like "I guess you will have to wait and see" (chef), repeatedly when asking about ingredients/process and "If I told you what was in that, I would have to shoot you" (sous chef), while perhaps amusing, was clearly frustrating to the guests asking the questions. The female chefs were far more interactive with the guests, freely answering questions and very friendly. The male chefs acted as though the questions from the guests were irritating. I suspect that is why the female team won over the male team. I believe many of the guests simply found the women more engaging, even though in my opinion the male chefs prepared a better tasting meal. read more

I had a pre-ordered weekly pick up scheduled and unfortunately came down with the flu. I reached out to Hudson Table 3 days prior to pick up, not asking for a refund but for a credit for a different weekly meal. They told that I could not have either. Hudson Table would rather me expose all their staff and customers to a contagious virus, rather than offer a credit to a paying customer. I will never use their services again, not only because of this horrific customer service but also now knowing they care so little about exposure to their staff and customers. read more

We both love going out to eat and typically celebrate holidays and anniversaries with a nice dinner. Hudson Table's chef competition exceeded ALLLL of my expectactions. I got my husband who loves to cook a GC for here for the Live Chefs Competition. What can I say....I was worried that I was playing it up in my mind and it would turn out to not be as good. Well I had nothing to worry about! It was an awesome night! There are two ways to sit...at the counter and at a table. We sat at the counter. Chef Oliver and Chef Pablo were very personable and ready to answer any question you had for them. You were allowed to get up and move around so you could see everything going on. The food....WOW! I thought that you would get a little taste of each chefs courses but no you get a full serving! And it was all delicious! At the nd the audience gets to pick the chef who wins! Such a fun night doing a "Cooking with Wine" class. We made four delicious dishes that were restaurant quality. There was a yummy appetizer when we showed up, and we were immediately greeted by friendly staff who helped us throughout the night. Gabe was great in leading the class, teaching us techniques, and answering any questions we had along the way. I've been here for breakfast and to an event. Both were amazing! The breakfast biscuit is incredible and their coffee is soooo good. The event was trivia and the chef made tacos. The tacos had so much flavor. It was family style with multiple options for toppings and as many tortillas as we wanted. It's a smaller space, but never felt cramped.
