On my now weekly trips to Greenwich Ave I stop here for their delicious Ginger Honey tea. I have been a fan of their tea for now almost a decade and it is a must have each and every time. The hot one is much better than the iced one and I have been tempted to try making this at home. The rest of their stuff is pretty average though, as they carry panini's, cold sandwiches and cookies. My husband and I had Lunch here over the weekend after shopping in the area. Its a cute sandwich shop With tables set up outside. ONLY TWO TABLES IN DOORS BY BATHROOMS... which wasn't ideal.... but we wanted to sit I doors. They have sandwiches, salads and pasteries. They also have pre-made sandwiches in containers. I had the Chicken Gruyère Sandwich and it was delicious my husband had the Cuban and also loved it. The coffee was great also. Small store with only a few tables for lunch. Usually hard to find a table to sit but we got lucky. For lunch I had the pre-packed baby arugula salad as well as the beet salad. The beet salad was not the best. The beets were overcooked and the mandarins were almost disinegrated. The arugula salad was healthy and delicious. They have prepared salads as well as hot sandwiches. Idk why they don't make fresh salads but they probably figure the prepared route is the same. Nothing blew me away here but it was a solid lunch. Aux Delices is a really cute Breakfast/Lunch off Greenwich Ave. The yellow walls add a nice-looking "French" touch to the place. Chocolate pastries, Salads and a few other light foods are available. FYI- Delices croissants, are also full of flavor through and through. Don't forget, you can also find already-prepared Eggplant Parmesan- not the typical Italian kind by any standards, but it's tasty and slices are nice and thin. Aux Delices Is a nice laid-back café option on the Ave. for grabbing a quick bite- anytime. Aux Delices catered our daughter and son in law's backyard wedding for 165 people on 9/9/23. What a wonderful experience from beginning to end! From our initial meeting through the day of Debra, Greg and Franzie were amazing , so attentive, easy to work with and their attention to all the details went above and beyond. Chef Jeff, the kitchen , wait and bar staff were exceptional, thank you! The food was beautifully presented, so fresh and delicious! The signature drinks(Margaritas and Palomas) were made with simple/fresh ingredients. Guests raved about the food, beverages and staff! The Quiches , mini blueberry muffins and ginger scones for the morning after were perfect and Just as delicious ! The staff left the kitchen and prep areas spotless. I buy food for an entire week each Saturday morning! My staples are puree soups (squash, roasted pepper, etc), turkey chili, gourmet turkey burger, salads, turkey meatloaf, angus sliders, salmon, crab cakes, and sliced roast turkey for sandwiches. I recently sent an e-mail to get information on some ingredients (I'm on a weight loss program) and the owner, Debra Ponzek, responded right away! I was so impressed I sent her a before/after picture to show her how much I enjoyed staying on my program with delicious gourmet food - especially the soups made without oil, cream etc., turkey chili and salmon. Of course, there is always the temptation of eating the fresh cupcakes, brownies and chocolate mousse...but if I DO indulge, I have a taste and it's well worth it! Cupcakes!! This review is only for the cupcakes. Yummy! I was with another couple who grew up in the area and they know about my sweet tooth so insisted we stop in. I walk in and it's quaint and very busy. The walls are lined with items to go and there are a few tables to eat in. I spot some cupcakes and know that's what I'm getting. They are delicious. Real butter-cream and that authentic small bakery taste. It was such a pleasant surprise. Perfect sweetness, excellent cake (its pretty hard to find both frosting and cake that are 5 star and this one did it) The were reasonable priced too. I got 3 for about $6. As a Greenwich resident I've had quite a few opportunities to get a bite at Aux Delices. While the Street and store are beautiful, the food is sub-par. I've tried it three times. Each time assuming I had incorrectly ordered and pivoted to another option. Each time the paninis have been half cold, half warm but always reliably soggy and bland. I can't blame the young staff as there seems to be no management. I have to assume the issue is apathy at the top. There are better, less expensive places to eat within yards. read more

I just happened to stumble into Aux Delices one day and ordered a Panini. The one I wanted wasn't on the menu but they made if for me anyway. It was good. The soup of the day was Kale Soup. I used to make a similar dish but we called it Portuguese Stew. Seeing that the panini was huge, I didn't try the soup but made a note to return. A few days later I stopped by again and order a large container of the Kale Soup and a multigrain roll to go. OMG!!! I was in heaven. The soup has chunks of meat and tins of vegetables. Where do I even begin with Aux Delices?! Aux Delices catered my wedding a few weeks ago, and we cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. From the start of the planning process, Deb, Greg, and Franzi were beyond helpful, responsive, thorough, and incredibly attentive with every detail. Through the final weeks and day-of preparations, they were there to ensure the wedding went off without a hitch. We are still hearing from guests on how incredible the food was. Aux Delices provided the amazing hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour; pigs in a blanket, pulled pork sliders, lobster rolls, melon and feta skewers, coconut shrimp, and peach and goat cheese bruschetta. We then had several of their delicious salads to accompany our food trucks. The staff was incredibly attentive, respectful, and entertaining. All of our guests had the best things to say about the food, servers, and bartenders. I can't recommend them enough; they are by far the best caterer out there. I posted this on trip advisor and the owner answered and actually defended the use of the old milk container claiming that they are recycling and that they clean it first. GROSS!!! hope the health department reads what they said. My wife had been to their Greenwich location a few times prior to this and it was uneventful. Over priced but it is Greenwich so acceptable. This day we ordered a gallon of the Lemon Ginger tea cold from the Riverside location. After waiting for nearly 20 minutes the server appeared from the back with a USED MILK GALLON full of tea. My wife questioned him and he said that is how we serve it. She asked for a manager and the gentleman that came over said yes that is how they serve it cold... in a USED MILK CONTAINER!!! He went on to assure us they cleaned it first. I had joined the conversation at this point and the manager was clearly not going to give in and did not even see what was wrong with what they were doing. Can you imagine the disgusting food practice that must be going on behind the scenes if the manager believes it is ok to re-use milk containers???? SCARY!!!! We then called the Greenwich location to ask if that was normal practice and they said no and to come to their location and they would rectify the situation. My wife walked in and found the person in charge and he made her wait almost 30 minutes before handing her a box of tea without so much as an apology. Not a single word. This is so bizarre we just felt the need to let other people know. We always stop here when shopping on Greenwich for a bite to eat as everything is homemade and fresh! I was blown away while recovering from surgery with friends sending an entire week of meals delivered to my home allowing me to undeniably state I LOVE AUX DELICES. The ginger mango scones are unbelievable. Ravioli in vodka sauce delicious. Chicken Francaise divine. Presently surprised by the delicate Chicken Pot Pie. Asian Chicken Salad yummy, but fell in love with Baby Arugula Salad with dried cranberries, honey almonds, manchego cheese and sherry vinegarette. Chicken soup hit the spot. Favorite of all is their delicious Turkey Burgers! My freezer didn't have a chance as I dined tickling my tastebuds all week long. The set-up was simple and highlighted the food, and the guy in charge of wine did a great job keeping everyone's glasses full. Wow. I just read the review for the Riverside store. My experience was just the opposite.at the Greenwich store On my way from Wash DC to Boston and after I slugged my way through NYC, I wanted to make a pit stop. I wandered into Greenwich to try my luck. Downtown Greenwich, CT is much like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. You could spend as much in a day's worth of shopping here as a small farm costs in West Virginia. Saks Fifth Avenue is this income bracket's Walmart. Holy Cow, my wallet started tugging toward the stores and felt lighter before I even left the car. I looked at an Italian restaurant and a seafood oyster house and decided I didnt need to spend $30 to $60 per person for lunch. There was a Subway tucked away in town...I took note of it in case I couldnt find anything under $20 for lunch.... Next door to the oyster was Aux Delices. It was packed and crowded...so I ventured in. They are basically a take out restaurant with about 15 bar stools at narrow bar counters so a few patrons could eat there. One wall sized refrigerator was filled with different sandwiches and salads. They had a bar preparing fresh sandwhiches. They had a bakery and desserts. Another deli case was filled with dozens of different entrees and side dishes from filet mignon to baby green beans. All the food was cold and packaged to be taken home and eaten later. If you eat in, the gracious staff will put the contents in a china plate...heat it up and serve it to you. They went out of their way to serve our party for whatever we needed. I was with a group of 6 peope and had a chance to sample a wide variety of food. I had an Asian salad with grilled chicken breast. The grilled chicken was grilled just right..tender and moist on the inside...not tough and over cooked. The salad with greens and assorted veggies and sesame seeds was good. The sauce was good but very sparse..I had to ask for more sauce. It was very tasty indeed. The turkey sandwich was the highlight of all the entrees. The turkey was tender and moist...not like supermarket sliced turkey. The bread was dark and had lots of body...like a rustic bread. The crust had a slight amount of the just baked crunch. The bread was slightly chewy...and had a great taste. They used a pear chutney that pushed this sandwich over the top. All this with lettuce and tomate made it a great sandwich....this dish was 5 stars In addition, my party had a grilled chicken breast salad., tasting just as good as my Asian chicken, a roast beef sandwich...very good indeed...and a chicken tender sandwich....very well received by the consumer.... Unlike the other review...this was the cheapest place (after Subway) to eat and the food was very very good. In all, the bill came out to $65 for 6 people with drinks. I guess it all depends on who is managing the store and how well the quality is kept up. You may not want to visit the Riverside store based on that review...but the Greenwich store was certainly worth it on a Friday afternoon. read more

My favorite place for lunch grabbables, and sometimes to sit and chat, although expect to be a bit uncomfortable. Amazing catering and holiday meal sides and desserts. Debra Ponzek is amazing, and the food is great, and the counter people are charming and helpful. I love to bring something special home to share. Okay - it is expensive, but hey this is Fairfield County, and your house is worth $5.5 million, so go get that second mortgage and buy yourself a damn coffee and pastry and quit complaining. And sitting close and smooshed in makes it so that everyone can oggle your Prada bag and Chanel shoes and hear about your trip to St. Barth - so quit complaining about being too close to your neighbors. The food here is great. I've gotten the Mac and cheese and chicken pesto panini both for lunch and thought they had great flavors. The panini could have been a little bigger. Overall I have gotten the peanut butter cookies and chocolate walnut cookies both were good but way overpriced. I also got the baguette bread when it was warm and thought it was very good. They have a rewards program where you get a sandwich free when you purchase 10 and you receive like 12.50 back when you spend 500 which seems pretty low but better than nothing. It is a bit pricey overall but the quality is good. It can get crowded around lunch time. read more

Been living in greenwich and never went in this café- until my boss requested lunch here This place is always hopping. Theres 2-3 tables in the middle you have to walk around and theres a bench outside you can sit on. Most people get takeout and a coffee! I usually come here for breakfast- get the ham egg and cheese on an english muffin or bacon egg and cheese on a roll which comes in halves, you dont have the get the whole sandwich but is worth the price (almost $6/sandwich) but you can taste the difference and they heat it up for you! Eggs are scrambled and always feel very full afterwards- dont even need a whole sandwich. Always good quality! Go for a scone-best snack there ($2.50) Lunch on the other hand, is on the expensive side, im not really impressed with $7.50 for a sandwich i could have made at home is a little redicious but they do put alot on it in their defense and it is central greenwich right off the avenue. Its worth looking below the sandwiches to the pre-made food like shrimp risotto for $10 or lasagna. Its freshly made and 2-3 meals! read more

I went to Aux 2 days in a row when I was in town working for a few days. I also noticed the crowds, and there was 2x as much kitchen/counter as seating area. Definitely a take out place. Definitely a little expensive as far as lunch goes, but not terribly expensive as far as Greenwhich Ave goes. The Crab Cake Sandwich on dark rye with chipotle mayo is totally amazing. and totally pricey for a tiny little thing. But worth it! read more

Ugh. there's nothing i hate more than a sandwich that tastes like its been sitting in the refrigerator for over a week. Ice cold and bland, made with stale bread that's hard as a rock at the crusts. I had the smoked turkey, which one could easily make (and it would taste much better) at home. In fact, thats what I should have done in the first place. The thing is, these sandwiches probably haven't been sitting in that fridge all week - they just taste like they have. You can easily let sandwiches hang out in the fridge for a couple days if you use the right kind of bread, and know what fillings and condiments won't start to taste like crap and dry out after being exposed to cold air for an extended time period. Sadly, the people at Aux Delices haven't got it down... their near-frozen smoked turkey sandwich probably had close to 1 pound of dried out turkey piled up on it, with nothing to dress or moisten it except for the most pathetic little smear of pear chutney that i've ever seen. (i wouldnt even have noticed it if the sandwich description hadn't listed it) Just save your wallet the pain and go to the subway around the corner. They do have a great salad counter, however, which is why i'm giving them more than one star. You can do a "salad sampler" and choose 3 salads to be nicely arranged in a large container for you. Try the steak salad, which was almost definitely created by an anemic Atkins dieter. read more

Came here a few times before. Tried their vegetarian chili and 3 salad combo (Orzo, Beet and chicken with apples). The chicken in the chicken salad with apples was quite greasy and not tasty at all I had to throw it out. The beet and orzo salad was not spectacular. The vegetarian chili wasn't bad. It did have cheese on top and they did not list cheese as an ingredient on the label. Overall, I wouldn't go here again because I wouldn't trust that they would tell me correctly the ingredients in their foods. read more

The deserts are very good but in my opinion, not the best and are a bit overpriced. I think this place is definetly loved by ladies, more than the men. Unfortunately the 9.99 roast beef sandwich on pumpernickel bread with Russian dressing arrived as a day or two old prepackaged sandwich on a small roll halved, roast beef blood soaked into the bread's bottom, spare to none on the Russian dressing, soggy lettuce and tomato from being prepackaged - nothing like what I ordered which I believe was supposed to come with chips. I went on Friday afternoon 10/23/2020. Very different experience here than at their Riverside location which is so helpful, friendly and pleasant. No line but the woman behind the counter rushed us, had no time to help us pick out which salad contained Caesar with chicken and grudgingly offered to convert the salad into a wrap for me. My friend was also similarly rushed. We took a table outside and awaited our items as instructed. Same woman came out and dropped item on table saying nothing and not offering even a napkin to use as it was clear we were sitting outside the cafe to dine. I had to go back inside and find a napkin and fork to use before returning back outside to dine on the curbside which is newly converted for eating with traffic buzzing by very quickly within inches of our small rickety little table inside the jersey barrier. Terrible all around service with a VERY rude server. This location is BAD. As stated earlier, I usually go to the Riverside location which has always be great but happened to be shipping the Avenue and SFA. AWFUL place! read more

I stopped by Aux Delices last week for a quick bite. I ordered one of the specialty sandwiches. Service was friendly and efficient; the sandwich was ready fairly quickly. And it was quite tasty. I can tell that this is a popular place in Greenwich, and the service and food backed that up. Based on my one experience, though, I can only give it three stars because of the cramped seating area and the crowding caused by the unusual physical layout. There isn't quite enough room to accommodate seating, ordering, paying, and patrons going from place to place. If you are fortunate enough to get one of the few outdoor tables on a nice day, I can see this place being a very good spot for a sit-down lunch. Otherwise, if it's a peak time, it seems like takeout would have been a better option. I would be willing to give Aux Delices another try based on the food and service but won't hurry back unless they can expand their seating area. read more
