    Ham/Brie sandwich (sub Turkey)
    Michelle L.

A solid spot for sandwiches in Greenwich. I ordered the #5 Ham and Brie sandwich and substituted the ham for turkey. It was fine. A tad dry. I liked the sweetness from the honey mustard and appreciated the thick slices of brie. However, I was not blown away. I still enjoyed it, but it was a very average sandwich.

My husband and I had Lunch here over the weekend after shopping in the area. Its a cute sandwich shop With tables set up outside. ONLY TWO TABLES IN DOORS BY BATHROOMS... which wasn't ideal.... but we wanted to sit I doors. They have sandwiches, salads and pasteries. They also have pre-made sandwiches in containers. I had the Chicken Gruyère Sandwich and it was delicious my husband had the Cuban and also loved it. The coffee was great also. If your in the area it's DEFINATELY a great spot for a quick lunch.

Aux Delices is a really cute Breakfast/Lunch off Greenwich Ave. The yellow walls add a nice-looking "French" touch to the place. Chocolate pastries, Salads and a few other light foods are available. FYI- Delices croissants, are also full of flavor through and through. Don't forget, you can also find already-prepared Eggplant Parmesan- not the typical Italian kind by any standards, but it's tasty and slices are nice and thin. Aux Delices Is a nice laid-back café option on the Ave. for grabbing a quick bite- anytime. The superstar for me in the mornings- has to be their Chai- loaded with a pleasant and subtle spicy taste.

I love their chocolate cake! It is now a staple whenever somebody is celebrating in our family. I recently discovered the apple crumble as well. It was so good! Too bad it's a seasonal thing, this should be a staple on their menu!!

    Kale Soup

I just happened to stumble into Aux Delices one day and ordered a Panini. The one I wanted wasn't on the menu but they made if for me anyway. It was good. The soup of the day was Kale Soup. I used to make a similar dish but we called it Portuguese Stew. Seeing that the panini was huge, I didn't try the soup but made a note to return. A few days later I stopped by again and order a large container of the Kale Soup and a multigrain roll to go. OMG!!! I was in heaven. The soup has chunks of meat and tins of vegetables. You can buy the soup in a plastic container ready to store in your refrigerator. I will be back. (Said in a Swartnagger accent) I forgot to mention that they have three other locations. Riverside, Darien and Westport

This location is very clean, modern and fresh decor/style all in one. They have friendly staff especially the older guy who went out of his way to make my visit a rememberable one. I had the deluxe breakfast sandwich. The sausage was terrible: tasteless, egg was that foamy egg beater stuff, and the cheese was basically velveeta, and they microwaved it so the croissant was a soggy mess. It had no flavor at all (look at my photo) and looked like a used diaper. My wife had the avocado toast which used plastic bag guac and also had no flavor. And to top it off: no plates at all, we were expected to eat from an aluminum foil wrap and a cardboard box. We also had a cappuccino and a lavender cold brew. The former was milky beyond belief, couldn't taste the espresso, and served too hot; the latter was incredibly sweet. We threw them both out. Again, skip this place. It's horrible. Clearly they're cutting costs by serving low quality repeatable food in easy cheap packaging. They don't respect their customers.

The space itself is absolutely stunning and so photogenic. They nailed the rustic, southern French country-style vibe--reclaimed wood, fresh flowers on every single table, and tons of natural light. It truly feels like a warm, cozy "home away from home," which I know is exactly what the founders (a husband-and-wife duo) were aiming for to honor their mothers' kitchens. The food here is consistently great, whether you're sitting down or grabbing take-out. My absolute go-to is the Katie Chicken sandwich. It's herb-roasted chicken, basil aioli, roasted red peppers, arugula, and roasted tomato. You can get it on ciabatta or a baguette, but do yourself a favor and opt for the baguette. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Honestly, any pastry you grab here is going to be amazing. I also love that they offer a few vegan options--the vegan raspberry bar is so good I end up eating one almost every single day. Pair whatever you get with an espresso drink; they serve them in these quintessential blue and white china cups that make you feel like you're sitting in a bistro in the French countryside. A quick tip on parking: There's metered parking on Greenwich Ave (9am-5pm, Mon-Sat) or a public lot right behind the CVS across the street. Definitely download the ParkMobile app and stay on top of your time, because parking enforcement is highly active around here!

Since it was around lunch time, I thought I would browse the Avenue to see if I could grab a bite. It was a short search since Le Pain Quotidien was right down the block - and since I'm a fan of the brand I thought it would be the ideal place to go. Le Pain is a fast-casual chain that serves soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. The best way to describe the workflow is to compare it to Panera, though Le Pain has better aesthetics, offers better food, and has table service if you choose to dine in (okay so maybe it's not appropriate to compare it to Panera). Decor is nice - it's semi-upscale without being stuffy, totally accessible to the casual shopper on the Greenwich Ave. Anyway, I was dining in so I had a seat and started browsing the menu. I didn't want anything too heavy, and the mozzarella melt looked perfect. This was kind of like a big crostini topped with cherry tomatoes, arugula, chicken, and mozzarella. The dish was great, all the ingredients were fresh and complemented each other well. It was also the perfect lunch size - I felt satisfied but not stuffed. Service was good, everyone was really friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at this Le Pain - the food is good, the employees are friendly, and this is an ideal place to stop in for a quick meal. I would definitely return for another meal (and some baked goods) if I'm ever in the area again.

The trio and their families all live in Greenwich. Collectively, they were all sick of taking their families out to dinner and the bill adding up to hundreds of dollars. They also realized that Greenwich was one of the few towns in Connecticut that didn't have a brewery. The business partners made it their mission to open their own family-friendly brewpub where consumers could get good craft beer as well as quality food that didn't break the bank. When a space previously home to LobsterCraft became available, the partners jumped at the chance to move in. I recently visited Greenwich Brewing Company for the first time. I was heading to a concert nearby, so I thought I would stop in a grab some beers and bites for a pre-show dinner. I noticed right away that GBC has a nautical theme. The logo features an anchor, and the entrance wall features the name of the brewpub spelled out in nautical flags. The place is a little on the smaller side, cozy and inviting; there's seating for about 52 customers. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the menu. Some of the staff informed me that they were celebrating their one-year anniversary and had some menu specials. To drink, I ordered a sampler flight that featured "Day Sailing" (Strawberry Lemonade Sour), "Oktoberfest" (Märzen), "Hop Anchor" (New England IPA), and "Catamaranic" (Hazy Double IPA). My favorite of the flight was the Oktoberfest, and I ordered a full pour afterwards. I also noticed that there were no beer tanks anywhere to be found on the premises. A staff member informed me that all beer is currently brewed off-site. They hope to move to a larger location in the future where brewing can be done in-house. Overall, GBC's beer is ok. It's their food menu, however, where they really shine. I first started off with some delicious "Toasted Pretzel Logs" (w/ Cardinal Red beer cheese sauce & stone ground mustard). Then I finished with the "Hot Honey Chicken" (2 tenders, hot honey drizzle, shredded mustard slaw, pimento cheese, on a roll, served w/ fries). It was phenomenal! My only complaint was that the bun was a little too small; it was no match for those massive tenders. I ended up eating most of it with a knife and fork as it fell apart. That aside, it was a delicious sandwich! If you're looking for an affordable, family-friendly place in Greenwich to grab some good beers and bites, then head to GBC!
