Outstanding presentation and food quality. The crispy shrimp appetizer special was full of vibrant taste, Same for the duck entree and scallop entree. Chocolate tart was ok. Not bad not great. Service was friendly but they forgot our appetizer order and showed up with our entrees. All was fixed with sincere apologies so in the end all was good. Delicious! Everything we had was amazing - the spring salad was bright, light and so fresh. Spring asparagus, peas, radishes and mint with romaine and some goat cheese and lightly dressed. A real winner. I had salmon tartar for my entree and it was a nice sized portion. Husband had the red snapper which was served in a delicious light, coconut curry. We shared truffle fries and key lime pie for dessert. Nothing felt heavy and everything was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. We sat outside, which was lovely. First time there, the doors were open with ceiling fan going. They probably haven't turned the AC on. It was very noisy, most restaurants are, anyway. The food is pretty good but they are no steak house because the steak we ordered wasn't good as expected. They serve the bread in a paper bag which is the first, I say. This place is a scene. Though it leads with a French touch, there are very fun Asian and Latin dishes too. I usually am wary when a restaurant mixes cultures but this place does a good job of serving both fondue and an upscale pupu platter. They also have a great wine selection. A great place for a more upscale lunch or an epic dinner. A lot of people seem to either do first dates here or ladies who lunch catch ups so you'll hear hilarious things from other tables too. read more

Very elegant and cozy restaurant with excellent service. We went in without a reservation, but from the looks of it, I recommend calling and making reservations because it got full quickly. The food was excellent. Our table had multiple plates and they were all good and if high quality and good taste. They also have an outdoor seating area for those good weather days and nights. DJ and I had a great BDay celebration (for DJ) at Le Fat Poodle. I had the "Marry Me" chicken which was done to perfection the Millionaire Bacon it comes with was amazing (Had to look this up... never heard of that before...). The setting is cozy, casual and upscale and the service was great - they did a little birthday sparkler thing and surprisingly, the response was wonderful, and didn't seem forced or fake from both staff and table neighbors. Really a classy place. Coming back... I just gotta give my wallet a rest... Seriously though, it is worth it - the whole experience. read more

If Yelp should develop a "Critic's Choice" award when an establishment hits all points and goes above and beyond for service, food and setting in one quickie lunch, Le Fat Poodle earns it from me. We found a parking space in front, there is a back entrance which has a lot. There's a ramp from the front door to the patio, making it very easy for mother to access our table in their attractive, blue and white outdoor area punctuated with hanging ivy foliage wall planters and (real, not plastic) fern containers under a large tent. Attractive, comfortable, clean and beachy. Mother was helped down the ramp by the maître d', and when her napkin was blown off the table our waiter immediately returned with heavier cloth. It's those little moments that keeps my ticker pumping and maintains it's faith in humanity. We ordered the bone marrow with onion jam (which I hadn't seen since Michael Gennaro's, RIP). Two large pieces perfectly cooked with enough toasted bread and jam for both of us, and a salt cellar jogged mother's memory of a recipe she'd brought back from France. "Maybe I'll see if I can find it," she said.* We shared lobster sliders (cute idea, made with lobster chunks and excellent slaw) and a crab cake. The first thing I do with crabcakes is to examine if there is crab (not krab/breadcrumbs, etc.), and this one passed muster to the max. The truffle fries were small and moist on the inside with just the right amount of crunch. You know fries are exceptionally good if ketchup isn't required. Desserts sounded wonderful, and I'll try them once I lose my Covid weight (oh yes, it will happen). The maître d' circled with tea, water or just to see how things were going. Chef Anshu of the famous Le Colonial NYC has set up a similar styled establishment in the Greenwich area with all the fixings of a menu from Colonial times. India is well represented with additional flavors from the eastern realm such as Thailand and Vietnam. Though heavily French influenced there is enough for vegetarians alike. A must try is the jalapeño corn bread which is unique and not on a menu i have come across. Additionally the Channa chaat is a welcome flavor to share to break routine. Our table of four had mostly fish. I had the Canton Lemon Sole while two others had the Red Snapper. Flavors are elevated however the portion was a little lacking for desire. I simply couldn't get enough of it. The drinks menu and wine list are carefully thought out and more than enough for any desire. Food wise it's as good as an eatery can be but I'm docking it one star for a somewhat rushed service for a light Sunday dinner. I will surely return to indulge. read more
