Detroit Style Deep Dish Pizza located in the Heart of Poughkeepsie. Hudson & Packard won an award for having the second best pizza in the WORLD! Now I'm not knocking it and not having been to Chicago or Detroit, I don't have anything to compare it too but the deep dish pizza was pretty good! I am a meat on Pizza lover! So, I had the cutlass supreme. It wasn't bad, but I needed it to be MEATIER! Now, these are deep dish pizza's made with the sauce on top so it is hard to find the flavors, I am going to go back and try the Ambassador, and the Hudson Hornet and the big cheese pizza! I took my pizza home but I want to have a dine in experience there. The location is pretty small inside so it does get crowded fast so I am going to find the perfect time to go. Hopefully they will put the award winning pizza on the menu, and maybe they can join the pizza fest when it comes to town! read more

This place is well out of the way from where I live, but it's been on my hit list for a year, and I finally made the trek while visiting a buddy upstate today. Cute spot in an "ehhh" part of Poughkeepsie, with an open kitchen and very small dining room. Nice server and kitchen staff, good local artsy beer selection, delicious Buffalo wings with great homemade blue cheese dip, and easily the best Detroit-style pizza I've had to date. We split the Ford Funghi and the Hudson Hornet, and both were delicious and made with super fresh ingredients. If you're ever up that way, it's definitely worth a try. read more

The pizza was just ok. It's not the best I've ever had and not the worst. As someone else stated, the person who waited on us was not very friendly at all, which made us not enjoy the food even more. I might be back once more to try the French Dip pizza if they post it as a special, but I'm coming from the other side of the river and there are better pizza places where the staff is actually friendly. read more

Omg!! Love this pizza! The first deep dish I had was in Chicago and it was amazing, 2nd was... you guessed it...Detroit!! I'm a fan of Hudson & Packard. Really incredible, special pizza. I'm a tourist up from the city and I was struggling to find food spots around Beacon / Fishkill / Poughkeepsie that lived up to their hype online. First time trying Detroit style pizza and definitely not my last. They have some really delicious sounding pizzas, but I ultimately went with the Ford Funghi which was PHENOMENAL. My one critique would be to add more goat cheese, as mine didn't have as much as I would have liked. I loved that the pizza is perfect for 2 people (or one with leftovers) and that every piece is a crunchy corner slice woth a buttery crust. I wish they had some special pizzas when I went, but it just means I'll have to make the trip up to try more. They didn't have wings on the menu when we went but the waitress was kind enough to tell us that there was 1/2 lb left and they'd sell it to us if we wanted so of course we jumped on the lemon pepper wings. Great wings and do not get me started on their home made herb ranch!!! A word of caution. This place is VERY small. There's about 4 two-seater tables lining the perimeter and a giant farm table in the middle that seats up to 10. Plus the counter which seats 4. And, the pizzas are made to order which obviously takes time so plan to be there for a while. read more

From the very time I saw an Instagram post about this place I was hooked. And now that they've opened doors on Academy they've become an almost weekly stop. This is pizza with flavors like you'd get from Mill House Brewing Company or other such restaurants - not to be compared with your local slice shop and their large cheese pies & 2L soda deals. It's apples and oranges to compare. My husband and I usually order two different pies (8 slices), eat 6 slices, and fight over the leftovers. I've even taken it to work and microwaved a leftover slice for a few seconds and still had crunch (I know, I know, bread in microwave bad).
