It was "late lunch" hour and it may have been between shifts, but service was incredibly slow, despite not initially being very crowded. The Crunchy Rice Cakes with tuna tartare were a new experience for me, and I loved them. Everything tasted fresh and was pleasantly presented. This place was such a good find. The food is pricey but I think you are paying for the view. There is a great view of the city from this dining area. The customer service was great and the ambience was nice as well. The bathroom was super clean and inviting. I had the Grilled Scottish Salmon and asked for the lettuce to be replaced with a side of mashed potatoes. Went here for the second time and the food didn't disappoint. The sushi here is delicious and comparable to a high end sushi restaurant. The other menu items we ordered were also delicious. The location is also amazing directly on the Hudson River with a beautiful unobstructed view of Manhattan. The service was okay and an 18% gratuity was automatically included in our check for some reason and it was just my partner and I dining in. The hostess brought us back to a table only for a table not to be available. A five star experience based upon the food and great location. We were in town for the 4th of July festivities, and Hudson and Co is right in the center of it all. Great views of NYC, especially from the outdoor seats. We sat in the dining room, and the service was likely a bit off because of the large crowds and people visiting to watch the FIFA world cup soccer games. While the service was less than 100%, the breezed short ribs were amazing! If I lived in the area, I think I could order those short ribs everyday. Pricing is very reasonable for the area, even with the "included gratuity" of 18% that they threw on the bill, probably because of all the international travelers coming into watch soccer. I understood this was something they probably had to do specifically during the world cup. We paid about $70 per person all in, we were drinking soft drinks, so the bar can push the total bill much higher very quickly. Overall, I would certainly return to this restaurant for great views, amazing food, and a reasonable value. read more

The cocktails were tasty, I had the strawberry fields forever and my friend had the purple rain. Food was very good too, for appetizers we ordered the crispy shrimp bao buns and oxtail croquettes. We also shared the hellfire sushi roll and the seafood chitarra. My favorites were the crispy shrimp bao buns and hellfire sushi roll. The ambiance is beautiful, this waterfront restaurant has the most amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. Service was also great, our server did provide us some recommendations on cocktails and food. For dessert, we had the Bella's warm cookie skillet which was delicious. I was charged $2 each on bread and butter which I noticed after I already paid for the bill. Upon entering Hudson & Co. as first-timers, my colleague and I were greeted by the host and struck by its nautically themed vibe with basket-weave floor tiles, suspended oversized coffers, hammered copper wall insets, wrought iron Revolutionary War beam chandeliers, and steampunk lighting. The establishment offers fantastic views, no matter where one sits--inside or outside. Their menu is simple, eclectic, and heavily skewed towards seafood, with gastropub-centered choices such as from Sushi, Grilled Spanish Octopus, Smoked Brûlée Burrata and Mac & Cheese as appetizers and Mediterranean Sea Bass, Seafood Chitarra, Young Pressed Chicken, Braised Short Ribs, and NY Strip Steak & Frites for the main meal. I came here for dinner and opted to sit at the bar for the city skyline view. I should have walked further inside to see that you can still dine at a table and experience the same views without the bar bottles blocking it. Nonetheless, we sat at the bar and were served by Michael. He recommended the Pepper Plane cocktail. I did order a dirty martini and ended up returning it and I don't think Michael appreciated it. I felt really bad but couldn't bring myself to drink it. Till this day we still talk about that grilled asparagus, God tier right there. Last the Mac n cheese. It stated with applewood smoked bacon on the menu. Yeah you got a hint of it but would have been nice if there was a slab or two on top or some more for that enhanced bacon experience.
