Braised Short Ribs

Hudson & Co. Bar and Grill 3 2nd. St. Suite 150 Jersey City, NJ 07311 Braised Short Ribs Pressed Young Chicken This is one of many restaurants in the downtown area conveniently located along the Hudson River esplanade. Braised Short Ribs: The thinly shredded was tender and juicy and the au jus was out of this world. The sides were the backbone to this Omar's Pressed Young Chicken: Take the name of this entrée literally; the chicken is smaller inside contributing to its extra tenderness. The meat easily fell of the bone. While both the main course and its sides were tasty, but my main critique is to increase the overall portion size. Otherwise, this is a perfect dining experience especially if you want to view the Manhattan skyline while you dine. #hudsoncobarandgrill #hudsonandcobarandgrill #downtownjerseycity #braisedshortribs #youngpressedchicken

Bella's Warm Cookie Skillet

Celebrated my friend's birthday here over the weekend. Easy commute from the city near the PATH train on exchange place station. The cocktails were tasty, I had the strawberry fields forever and my friend had the purple rain. Food was very good too, for appetizers we ordered the crispy shrimp bao buns and oxtail croquettes. We also shared the hellfire sushi roll and the seafood chitarra. My favorites were the crispy shrimp bao buns and hellfire sushi roll. The ambiance is beautiful, this waterfront restaurant has the most amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. Service was also great, our server did provide us some recommendations on cocktails and food. For dessert, we had the Bella's warm cookie skillet which was delicious. I was charged $2 each on bread and butter which I noticed after I already paid for the bill. I know bread and butter are not always complimentary but it would have been nice if the server mentioned it. Overall, it was a fun girls day and I would definitely come back.

Great view from the patio Food not that good and very pricey Service was strange lol I asked where the oysters were from and they had someone other than my waiter come tell me they could provide the geo coordinates - like dont play w your guests I hope that wasnt a joke but it definitely seemed like one

Service was very slow and bar was backed up. There was a $ 79 dollar minimum per attendee and the time slot was firm. The food was mid to and I could not believe the server requested to place the additional 200 dollars on the bill while escorting the party ro the bar. Mind you, the bar tab does not count toward your bill. The location was so empty on this Saturday afternoon that they could have had flash mob auditions. Very dis appointed. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Nothing beats a waterfront view along New Jersey's Gold Coast, a roughly 20-mile stretch from Fort Lee to Bayonne. It's no secret these spectacular sights are best taken in with a magnificent meal. Located on 2nd Street in Jersey City's Harborside, this 12,000-square-foot space is hard to miss with wide-open floor-to-ceiling windows where my company celebrated last night a milestone anniversary overlooking NYC even though the sky began grey but ended the festivity with a spectacular treat of the shimmering skyline. Upon entering Hudson & Co. as first-timers, my colleague and I were greeted by the host and struck by its nautically themed vibe with basket-weave floor tiles, suspended oversized coffers, hammered copper wall insets, wrought iron Revolutionary War beam chandeliers, and steampunk lighting. The establishment offers fantastic views, no matter where one sits--inside or outside. Their menu is simple, eclectic, and heavily skewed towards seafood, with gastropub-centered choices such as from Sushi, Grilled Spanish Octopus, Smoked Brûlée Burrata and Mac & Cheese as appetizers and Mediterranean Sea Bass, Seafood Chitarra, Young Pressed Chicken, Braised Short Ribs, and NY Strip Steak & Frites for the main meal. Dessert was featured with Crème Brûlée, Molten Lava Cake or Gelato Trio. Our meal was absolutely delicious, where the flavors were rich, cooked to perfection, and the portion size was generous. Our server, Evelyn, and the staff were absolutely fantastic, informative, and attentive to our table. Special thanks to the general manager, Roman, as every detail was thought of, and it made for one of the most memorable celebrations we've ever had, which we can recommend.

Stopped here 2 times in the past month - once for a work dinner & once for happy hour. The views are awesome! Vibe is great. Happy hour from 4-7pm. Food is very good & both times our service was great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a great experience here. Our waiter Cory was amazing, provided phenomenal customer service and very friendly. The drinks were good - their new menu is coming out soon - and the food was delicious. We got: oxtail croquettes, crispy spicy tuna, seafood chitarra, and shrimp bao buns. They were all incredible - this is a spot I would definitely come back to. The incredible skyline view also adds to the overall experience.

I came here for dinner and opted to sit at the bar for the city skyline view. I should have walked further inside to see that you can still dine at a table and experience the same views without the bar bottles blocking it. Nonetheless, we sat at the bar and were served by Michael. He recommended the Pepper Plane cocktail. The combination of ingredients sounded interesting and definitely work well together to make a balanced drink that isn't too sweet and not too bitter. I did order a dirty martini and ended up returning it and I don't think Michael appreciated it. I felt really bad but couldn't bring myself to drink it. He seemed to hold onto that throughout the night and made unnecessary sarcastic comments while serving us. It was a little petty. For food, we tried the following: Spicy Tuna - 7.5/10. These were good but nothing special. Rainbow - 8/10. Tasted really fresh. Spanish Grilled Octopus - 8.5/10. Cooked really well! Crunchy Rice Cakes - 9.2/10. GET THEM! So good! Crispy Shrimp Bao Buns - 8.7/10. Shrimp was overly battered, but still juicy and overall yummy! Margherita Classico - 9/10. So juicy/sweet! Loved it! Grilled Shrimp Caesar (replaced the grilled chicken with shrimp) - 8.5/10. Crunchy, fresh, cheesy! I really enjoyed this! Shishito Peppers - 7/10. Ehhh, I've had better. Créme Brulée - 10/10. This was the icing on the cake! So freaking good! I could go back just for this! Besides the service, this was a great dinner where everything tasted good and we had little to no regrets on what was ordered. I'll probably be back once it starts getting warmer out to enjoy the delicious food and amazing views.

Hudson & co is a great solid restaurant on the jersey city waterfront. It is has great views and a nice decor inside . TVs to watch games at the bar. The food is diverse so something for everyone . From pizza and burgers to oysters on half shell, sushi and salads. They have a brick oven so food comes out piping hot and pizzas nice. Service is good too. Attentive and on point. Highly recommend if in the area

Good lunch deals otherwise a little procey-But the views from this place are amazinggg! Loved their sushi especially the roll with mango! Their choco lava cake is pretty legit too. Their pan pizzas are reasonable too. For tenants they have really good discounts so if you work in the building this is a good option.

Very romantic and beautiful views. The food is great. Wife and I had anniversary dinner there.

I have to say 10/10 experience. Not one complaint in my book. Outstanding from start to finish. I had done my research prior to arriving to the east coast for a "last" dinner location with the most beautiful view. This was it. Hudson & Co took the cake on this one! That New York City skyline was breathtaking of its own. Just wanna mention after booking and requesting closest seating to the view, yes I was placed at a table on the inner end of the restaurant but after speaking to the host about moving us as quick as possible due to my request. Didn't take more than 30 minutes to be reseated. We all had patience. The view was worth every bit of wait. Slight unfortunate situation but I'm not gonna cry about it, they made it happen ASAP. So bravo to the team for making it easy for us to ensure our dinner and experience were left memorable. Once we had been seated at our new table, it was game on. Time to order all the yummies we could. Gotta say I'm a bit surprised no burger on the menu for dinner. I wanted to burger with fries but didn't see one on the dinner menu so after negotiation with the wife we decided to get sushi! And my mother in law opted for the braised short rib, Mac n cheese and grilled asparagus. Everything hit the mark. If you can see from my photo, I did not skimp out on ordering the rolls. Everything was good, the sushi seamed fresh and as normal as it gets, no different from ordering from an actual sushi joint. Braised short rib are usually on the flavorless in my book anywhere I go. Not from Hudson & Co. good flavor lots of love put into those short ribs. Cooked PERFECT. In my opinion the grilled asparagus were the star of the show on the table and for anyone who doesn't eat veggies. This will make you crave grilled asparagus! I mean PERFECTION. Till this day we still talk about that grilled asparagus, God tier right there. Last the Mac n cheese. It stated with applewood smoked bacon on the menu. Yeah you got a hint of it but would have been nice if there was a slab or two on top or some more for that enhanced bacon experience. Don't get me wrong it was good but a little bit more bacon don't hurt no body! Over all an amazing dinner experience, worth every dollar spent. Service was outstanding. Truly thankful for having our last dinner before we flew out the next day. Hats off to Hudson & Co for giving us the privilege to have such a memorable dining experience.

While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! Loved the floral aroma and bitter tea notes. My partner's cocktails were also well executed. Staff were nice and friendly. We got seats right by the kitchen so staff often checked in with us, including the chef!! Vibes were intimate with the dim lighting and minimalist decor. Definitely want to come back to check out their chicken and other dishes!!
