There's nothing dull about this hole in the wall. The drinks exotic and on point. While service can lack because of the volume it's is Jersey city and expected bring cash for a speedy check out and enjoy the tunes

We made the trek from Brooklyn to Dullboy to try out their cocktails, and it was so, so worth it. This places serves up some of the best, most creative, most delicious cocktails I've had in a while. I also love the vibes of the bar: it's stylish, cozy, and so friendly. Service was warm and prompt. They also have some Christmas decor up already, which was fun. We came in a group of four, so got a delightful little corner booth area to ourselves. The cocktail menu is so interesting, it was tough to choose, but I started with the Gwen. It was delicious: nutty, herbal, and with a touch of sweetness. Our table ordered a variety of other cocktails on the menu and sampled each other's, and the consensus was that the two best were the Hana (an almond-y, bright, absolutely delicious clarified milk punch) and the Betty (a herbaceous beet sour). My partner and I also split some curly fries, which were perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. The total came out to ~$60/person, which isn't cheap, but I thought perfectly fair for the quality of the cocktails and the food. Especially since nice cocktails can set you back $20+ each in NYC these days. We can't wait to be back!

Me and my partner came by here unexpectedly as my partner wanted to sit down and have a drink. We were pleasantly surprised by how intimate and unique dull bit was. We were sat down once we arrived, waiter came to us to give us water, and overall vibes were on point! The music was amazing my parnter loved all the jams, the Philly chillysteaknegg rolls were his fav and the drinks were delicious. He may have lreferrred a different tequila with the espresso by my mavi was amazing. We definitely plan on coming back for more!

Loved the vibe of this location. Food came out prompt! Bartender made some super yummy drinks . They need to have an espresso martini on happy hour with fresh espresso made! That will really get late night guests really excited

Dullboy was a blast. I came to Dullboy with a friend. We both ordered mocktails. We ordered their two mocktails on the menu: the phony negroni and the caillou. We also ordered their fried cheese sticks from their "to share" menu and their pulled chicken empanadas. The fried cheese sticks were so so so delicious! I really enjoyed their habanero honey it gave the fried cheese sticks a nice edge. The chicken empanadas were great as well with the green salsa to give it an added spice. The aesthetic of the cocktail bar was everything. I would like to go back and enjoy more of their menu and their cocktails. The service was fantastic as well. The girl who waited our table was friendly and checked up on us regularly. My friend and I happen to go on a night where it was pouring rain minutes before we arrived but that actually didn't affect the ambiance much. People still went out and showed up to the cocktail bar. There were mostly dates but a couple of people were just hanging out with their friends like myself and my friend. Great spot for a date night as it's dim lighting inside the bar and it has an old school vibe with the decor. 10/10 recommendation

Really good bar food options. Honestly could come here just for their food menu. [Food] We ordered their return of the mac with bacon and it was so good. Very smokey and cheesy in a best way possible. Their flat bread was really good too but it was on sweeter side. I liked the combination of sweetness of fig jam, the saltiness from garlic cream cheese, and spiciness from jalapeños. The quesadillas were okay but not on par with the other two foods. Overall they use really good cheese and as a cheese lover it was great :3 [Drinks] Both of our drinks were good as well; not too overpowering with alcohol tastes like some places do. I especially enjoyed my hana drink. It surprised me how refreshing a makgeolli cocktail could be. The drink still had the smooth grainy creaminess from makgeolli even though it was clarified. [Service] It was a very busy time when we visited but our server tried their best to help us out. Overall pretty attentive service even at rush hours. [Atmosphere] The bar is pretty dimly lit but really enjoyed the ambience it gave. Love the vintage typewriter decorations they have on walls too.

We loved our waiter. Great service for first timers. I had one of my favorite classic drinks, paper plane, and it came with one. The detail. So cute! We had the fried cheese for a bite. It was just like Dominican fried cheese so I loved it. We sat in the patio and I am hoping to come back and see what the inside is like.

My friends and I came here for happy hour and enjoyed it overall! The interior is cute (would be great for a date). I got the yoko drink which I enjoyed. For food, we shared the flatbread, philly cheesesteak egg rolls, coconut shrimp tacos, return of the mac and fries. Overall - the food was great! Our favorite was the return of the mac (soo cheesy and creamy). I would skip the philly cheesteak egg rolls as those were a little dry (you can get great ones at Cheesecake Factory).

Another perfect weekday date night in our neighborhood, this time at Dullboy in JC and it did not disappoint. Food: Solid 4. We ordered the crudo tacos (tuna with wasabi in a nori wrap, super fresh, clean, and delicious), the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls (a fun twist on a classic, perfectly crispy and full of flavor), and the arepas with sofrito criolla braised pork. Now, as a Colombian and self-proclaimed arepa snob whose mom has run an arepa business, I'll admit this one wasn't my personal favorite, I think sweeter yellow corn would have elevated it but the average diner will still enjoy it. My top picks? The ribeye steak quesadillas (hands down my favorite) and the Return of the Mac: a rich, truffle-infused mac & cheese that's hearty and satisfying. Drinks: 5/5. My favorite cocktail was the Lolita tequila, rum, cucumber, coconut, bergamot, and lemon, refreshing and beautifully balanced. The Oaxacan Old Fashioned was a fun, smoky twist on the original, using reposado tequila and mezcal instead of bourbon. My boyfriend's pick (he's a known slushy fan) was the Elsa, rum blend, peach, pineapple, mint, and lime, bright, fresh, and perfect for summer vibes. Service: 10/10. Honestly, I couldn't even tell who was a server, busser, or runner, everyone approached our table with the same warm, attentive energy. They work seamlessly as a team, and it shows. All in all, Dullboy nailed it again, great food, exceptional drinks, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Definitely one of our go-to neighborhood spots for a midweek date going forward!

Highly recommend for a small plate and cocktail night! The inside has a really cool ambiance with dim lighting and they play good music. The portions are all pretty small but nice for shared appetizer types format. The steak skewers were amazing and so were the corn ribs. I would probably pass on the chicken meatball skewers next time. Only complaint is that the bar service is very, very slow so it takes a while to get drinks. Staff is really nice.

Stumbled on this place in Jersey city by looking at their menu online. I was pleasantly surprised when we went in to find a really cool, dimly lit cocktail club vibe to this place. Managers hostesses and waitress all went above and beyond at this place. We felt like regulars and we were walk ins! The food and drinks were both awesome. Pictures don't do it justice since the place was low lit. Only two notes. The flatbread was just good, everything was great though. Also $4 each for a club soda with no refills is a little steep but hey that's Jersey city/Hoboken area for ya. I would definitely come back here. Not sure why more influencers aren't talking about this place??

Cool craft cocktail bar downtown Jersey City. Met a group of people here before heading out to dinner and all the drinks were made to perfection and details.

Dullboy is just cool as fuck, that's the review in a nutshell. I came here for pre-dinner drinks on a Saturday and mistakenly thought that since 4 of us were heading there around 4:30 in the summer, we wouldn't need a reservation. INCORRECT, so please learn from my mistake and make a reservation! We luckily were able to snag two seats in the corner (kind of an awkward spot, but again, we didn't make a reservation) while we waited for a table to open up. Luckily it didn't take long, but despite being in the corner, the service was attentive RIGHT away, which was a consistent during the entire time we were there. The cocktail list is VAST and intimidating in the best possible way, mainly because there are so many amazing options (note, they also have punch bowls if you're with a group for $52 - boozy and REALLY fun to indulge in for a good price based on the size!). I started with the Oaxacan Old Fashioned ($16), a reposado/mezcal old fashioned and the group I was with got the Paper Plane ($15) that of course, came with a paper plane, the Patty ($17) which had mezcal, gin, and lemongrass, and a blanco tequila flight ($26). All were DELICIOUS and we were vibing and having so much fun that we ended up ordering another round, but switched it up this time. I was originally going to order the Corita, which was mezcal, two types of rum, bitters, and pineapple, but the server let me know that a lot of people weren't huge fans of it, so I switched to the Lolita instead (blanco tequila, rum, cucumber, and coconut), which was DELICIOUS, so I appreciated the heads up and excellent drink choice. All in all, Dullboy is somewhere I would happily come back to - with a reservation. The cocktails, while pricey, were well worth it, especially seeing the incredible bartenders just WORKING it and the servers being absolutely lovely to the fullest. Great vibe and ambiance and perfect to go out with friends or for a cocktail date night.

While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! Loved the floral aroma and bitter tea notes. My partner's cocktails were also well executed. Staff were nice and friendly. We got seats right by the kitchen so staff often checked in with us, including the chef!! Vibes were intimate with the dim lighting and minimalist decor. Definitely want to come back to check out their chicken and other dishes!!
