Never ever a bad visit. I've been to Dullboy a handful of times, whether it was just for drinks or for a full dinner, and it's always been a hit. The space is swanky and cool but still casual. It's a pretty great neighborhood bar. Anytime I've stopped in without a reservation I have always gotten lucky and found two seats at the bar. Don't shy away from the bar! It's great, there are purse hooks and your bartender in never too far away. If you haven't been to Dullboy yet, it is worth the res. Great cocktails, good food and cool vibes. read more

Its been a long 7 or 8 years, but I have made my return to Dullboy. And this time it was for NYE dinner with my lover. Fortunately, it was not the same date i mentioned in the previous review. LOL. wherever, he may be, i wish him well. Okay enough gossiping. I made reservations on the 30th. They confirmed early on the 31st. They only had 2 seats available at the bar for 8 PM. But this was perfect. They also had a specific short, but impressive menu for NYE of drinks and bites. We had excellent and QUICK service the whole time. We were essentially done by 8:35, but lingered with our last drink until about 9 PM. cocktails are made perfectly. Side bar: they have an extensive tequila forward menu at the moment - WHICH I LOVE! food: fried cheese was more like queso fresco perfectly fried, and drowned in honey. we liked these, but i wouldnt get them again. I think they needed more heat in the hot honey. it was a good idea but could have used something else on top of them too. wings: soy garlic. these are a must get. the wings were cookend and fried perfectly. they are heavy in the soy (salt) flavor profile, in fact i think they should drizzle some honey on top. we loved these they were cripsy, but had a juicy center. arepas: my date got 2 of these and loved them. theyre incredibly filling and can be split up for another snack later. crudo tacos: these come in 3 and i really enjoyed them. these arent filling, so have all 3 of them to yourself. looking forward to coming back, this place is always a gem. read more

We made the trek from Brooklyn to Dullboy to try out their cocktails, and it was so, so worth it. This places serves up some of the best, most creative, most delicious cocktails I've had in a while. I also love the vibes of the bar: it's stylish, cozy, and so friendly. Service was warm and prompt. They also have some Christmas decor up already, which was fun. We came in a group of four, so got a delightful little corner booth area to ourselves. The cocktail menu is so interesting, it was tough to choose, but I started with the Gwen. It was delicious: nutty, herbal, and with a touch of sweetness. Our table ordered a variety of other cocktails on the menu and sampled each other's, and the consensus was that the two best were the Hana (an almond-y, bright, absolutely delicious clarified milk punch) and the Betty (a herbaceous beet sour). My partner and I also split some curly fries, which were perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. The total came out to ~$60/person, which isn't cheap, but I thought perfectly fair for the quality of the cocktails and the food. After years of pining to try Dullboy's creative cocktails, I finally made it to the speakeasy. The tiny space offered a small bar, several indoor tables, and a rear garden. There were curtains on the windows, and the lighting was very dim, working in tandem to create an air of secrecy. We were seated at an intimate table with cushy seats and browsed the menu of creative cocktails and elevated bar bites. I ordered The Alexa as my beverage, and adored how its smokey, sweet, and tart flavors melded together. The mixture of Sotol, Mezcal, red bitters, passionfruit, honey, and lime was served over a playful cup of pebble ice. I adored it! I also enjoyed my sip of The Diana, a boozy concoction made from Suntory Toki Whiskey, Calvados, bitter bianco, and Lillet Blanc served up and with a hint of sweetness from added honey. In terms of the food, the Coconut Shrimp Tacos were unreal! The blue corn tortillas were soft and delicate. They were packed with crispy shrimp, a mango cabbage pico, cilantro, and a spicy, house-made chili mayo that sent the flavor over the top. The four delicious tacos would rival those from any Mexican restaurant. I grabbed a Curly Fry or two from my companion and found those to be perfectly seasoned and crispy without being too greasy. They were similarly perfect. In fact, he also enjoyed the Burger that was the main component of his meal. Dullboy was a blast. I came to Dullboy with a friend. We both ordered mocktails. We ordered their two mocktails on the menu: the phony negroni and the caillou. We also ordered their fried cheese sticks from their "to share" menu and their pulled chicken empanadas. The fried cheese sticks were so so so delicious! I really enjoyed their habanero honey it gave the fried cheese sticks a nice edge. The chicken empanadas were great as well with the green salsa to give it an added spice. The aesthetic of the cocktail bar was everything. I would like to go back and enjoy more of their menu and their cocktails. The service was fantastic as well. The girl who waited our table was friendly and checked up on us regularly. My friend and I happen to go on a night where it was pouring rain minutes before we arrived but that actually didn't affect the ambiance much. People still went out and showed up to the cocktail bar. There were mostly dates but a couple of people were just hanging out with their friends like myself and my friend. Great spot for a date night as it's dim lighting inside the bar and it has an old school vibe with the decor. 10/10 recommendation read more

Really good bar food options. Honestly could come here just for their food menu. [Food] We ordered their return of the mac with bacon and it was so good. Very smokey and cheesy in a best way possible. Their flat bread was really good too but it was on sweeter side. I liked the combination of sweetness of fig jam, the saltiness from garlic cream cheese, and spiciness from jalapeños. The quesadillas were okay but not on par with the other two foods. Dullboy is an amazing cocktail bar with great food, and I've been here multiple times before and just realized I never reviewed it. Was just there a few days ago, and yet again they did not disappoint. We went as a party of 3 at around 7pm on a Friday without any reservations and were pleasantly surprised that we were seated immediately without a wait. Our waitress was so wonderful and attentive (I am so sorry did not get her name). We ordered our food and drinks almost immediately after getting seated. The space itself is also wonderful. The front of the business is a bar with a cocktail space which is beautifully designed and very intimate. The back space is a little more open but still very beautiful as well. There is a bar in the cocktail space and a bar area in the back as well. Food: Return of the Mac (with bacon added): Damn, one of the best Mac and cheese that I've had. It hits you hard with multiple blend of cheeses and the garlic breadcrumbs give an excellent crunch. Buffalo Chicken Empanadas: Also tasty, heavy but delicious. The crema will pound at you with the blue cheese flavor, was a bit much but went well with the spiciness from the chicken. Tuna crudo tacos: Was kind of like a hand roll with crispy rice inside which gave it a nice crunch as well. I really liked it, also had pineapple with it which gave some sweetness to cut through some of the saltiness. Ribeye quesadilla: Really genius, because they used a scallion pancake for a tortilla and had bulgogi beef inside. Did not expect to like it this much, I feel like I'll probably try doing this at home in the future! Drinks: The sylvia: One of their signature drinks, kind of like an old fashioned but the absinthe gives it a little bit of a licorice flavor behind it. Great if you love a good old fashioned. The espresso martini DB: Great take on an espresso martini, absolutely well made, but on the sweeter side if you are into that. The hana: interesting cocktail, with the clarified milk punch, you can really taste the coconut and pandan flavors, making it such a refreshing drink Overall: Yes, you should absolutely give it a try. We ordered the crudo tacos (tuna with wasabi in a nori wrap, super fresh, clean, and delicious), the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls (a fun twist on a classic, perfectly crispy and full of flavor), and the arepas with sofrito criolla braised pork. Now, as a Colombian and self-proclaimed arepa snob whose mom has run an arepa business, I'll admit this one wasn't my personal favorite, I think sweeter yellow corn would have elevated it but the average diner will still enjoy it. My top picks? The ribeye steak quesadillas (hands down my favorite) and the Return of the Mac: a rich, truffle-infused mac & cheese that's hearty and satisfying. Drinks: 5/5. My favorite cocktail was the Lolita tequila, rum, cucumber, coconut, bergamot, and lemon, refreshing and beautifully balanced. The Oaxacan Old Fashioned was a fun, smoky twist on the original, using reposado tequila and mezcal instead of bourbon. My boyfriend's pick (he's a known slushy fan) was the Elsa, rum blend, peach, pineapple, mint, and lime, bright, fresh, and perfect for summer vibes. Service: 10/10. Honestly, I couldn't even tell who was a server, busser, or runner, everyone approached our table with the same warm, attentive energy. They work seamlessly as a team, and it shows. All in all, Dullboy nailed it again, great food, exceptional drinks, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Dullboy is a great intimate cocktail bar. They have an outdoor heated patio too for additional seating. All of the staff is extremely nice and attentive. I had the warm drink called the Giuseppe and it was so good! Like a warm milk tea. My friend loves their paper plane cocktail that they serve with an actual paper plane. We haven't tried the food here but they have a small selection of places but the vegetarian options seem limited. Love the decor in their bathrooms too. The portions are all pretty small but nice for shared appetizer types format. The steak skewers were amazing and so were the corn ribs. We held our 'post elopement' party at Dullboy, and it was more perfect than I could have imagined. Marc and Francisco were responsive, proactive and thoughtful from day one. We rented out the space from 1-5pm, so they were able to hold their dinner service and offered a very generous rate. It was the most perfect event space- we used the indoor and outdoor patio in late October. Their heat lamps and roofed patio made for a fantastic space. Every single person raved about the food, space, drinks and atmosphere. Being a lazy event planner, I didn't have to worry about a single decoration because the vibe is excellent. Managers hostesses and waitress all went above and beyond at this place. We felt like regulars and we were walk ins! The food and drinks were both awesome. Pictures don't do it justice since the place was low lit. Only two notes. The flatbread was just good, everything was great though. Also $4 each for a club soda with no refills is a little steep but hey that's Jersey city/Hoboken area for ya. I would definitely come back here. Dullboy is just cool as fuck, that's the review in a nutshell. I came here for pre-dinner drinks on a Saturday and mistakenly thought that since 4 of us were heading there around 4:30 in the summer, we wouldn't need a reservation. INCORRECT, so please learn from my mistake and make a reservation! We luckily were able to snag two seats in the corner (kind of an awkward spot, but again, we didn't make a reservation) while we waited for a table to open up. Luckily it didn't take long, but despite being in the corner, the service was attentive RIGHT away, which was a consistent during the entire time we were there. The cocktail list is VAST and intimidating in the best possible way, mainly because there are so many amazing options (note, they also have punch bowls if you're with a group for $52 - boozy and REALLY fun to indulge in for a good price based on the size!). I started with the Oaxacan Old Fashioned ($16), a reposado/mezcal old fashioned and the group I was with got the Paper Plane ($15) that of course, came with a paper plane, the Patty ($17) which had mezcal, gin, and lemongrass, and a blanco tequila flight ($26). All were DELICIOUS and we were vibing and having so much fun that we ended up ordering another round, but switched it up this time. I was originally going to order the Corita, which was mezcal, two types of rum, bitters, and pineapple, but the server let me know that a lot of people weren't huge fans of it, so I switched to the Lolita instead (blanco tequila, rum, cucumber, and coconut), which was DELICIOUS, so I appreciated the heads up and excellent drink choice. All in all, Dullboy is somewhere I would happily come back to - with a reservation. The cocktails, while pricey, were well worth it, especially seeing the incredible bartenders just WORKING it and the servers being absolutely lovely to the fullest. Would give this a 4.5 if I could! A great place for cocktails and shareables. My group of 8 sat in the enclosed patio area which had its own bar and plenty of heaters. We shared dishes - the arepas (2 per order), Korean chicken nuggets, crispy artichokes, crab rangoons, Thai meatballs, hanger steak skewers, Mediterranean flatbread and flying Seoul-lo. Everything was good but standouts for me were the arepas and Thai meatballs. They have a large selection of unique drinks and their liquor collection runs deep. If you take a careful look behind the bar you can see some good stuff tucked away a couple rows deep. This was one of my favorite cocktail bars to visit this year! I was referred to this place after leaving Orale Mexican Kitchen, which is located right across the street. I believe they're even owned by the same people. Immediately upon walking in, the vibe was unmatched. The lights were dimmed, with the table candles and the bar providing most of the illumination. The bartender was warm and welcoming. My friend and I sat at the bar and chose from their extensive cocktail menu. We ended up ordering Espresso Martinis, which were delicious! The music playlist for the night was fantastic! They had an amazing old-school hip-hop playlist playing, which set the mood even more. I found myself Shazam-ing a few songs I fell in love with.
