    Chicken and waffles

Went here for brunch with friends on a trip to the Chicago and it was soo memorable! Got thr chicken and waffles, mimosa, and a cold brew on draft. The chicken and waffles were absolutely the best I've ever had and the atmosphere was perfect. I will definitely be going back here during my next Chicago trip.

We ordered a few apps and a pizza to share and truly enjoyed everything we ordered. We found the flight of fries to be unique and tasty. The pizza and whipped feta were also good but pretty standard. The lychee martini was a hit within our group.

I had a blast here! I visited for the Christmas pop-up and had so much fun taking pictures--every corner was a photo op! Our waitress was incredibly friendly and sweet. She even helped us take photos when we struggled with selfies, gave great suggestions, and checked in on us often. The food and drinks were decent. The prices were affordable, though nothing really stood out. The Christmas drinks were a bit pricey, but they looked beautiful; the flavor was just okay. I would definitely come back for future holiday pop-ups just to take pictures.

Happy hour is on fire !! Martini Lychee is sooo good if you have never had an absolute Order if on special or not!! Pooja our bartender was sweet, personable and overall excellent service. Vibe was fun! Good music I'm a burb girl and will be back. Boyfriend ordered chicken bites and the different sauces were tasty ones that I'm not exactly use too. 10 out of 10

I am surprised to see a below 4 star rating for Hubbard Inn. Although I was here around the same time 2 years ago for a drink at the bar, I don't write a review back then but it was set up for Christmas just like it was today and it's beautiful inside. Feels very festive and Christmasy and I'd go back just for that without having to spend ridiculous amounts at the many Christmas popups that are setting up as we speak. That said our brunch was just as awesome as the Christmas decorations. We got the crab cake Benedict and the French Toast and they were both delicious. The potatoes and the side salad were so good as well. Service was great but they do charge a customary 20% gratuity and a 4% restaurant charge so overall a bit much.

Met up for girls night at Hubbardd Inn for drinks and light apps before heading to Joy District for a DJ set and night out. It's super conveniently located to nightlife The main reason we picked it was because you can all get separate checks and pay on your phone after scanning a QR code. They had a really great seasonal pumpkin spice martini that I was obsessed with. Prices are high, but as to be expected for the neighborhood. Our server checked in appropriately, not too much and enough to make sure we were good. We also tried the fries trio and loved the variety. It was a great shareable to accompany our drinks! There was plenty of availability on a Friday night, around 8-10pm. You could easily walk in without a reservation.

I swung by Hubbard Inn to check out some of their new fall cocktails that they have and I'd seen and I gotta say that I am so obsessed with the pumpkin spice espresso martini. I'm a fan of espresso martinis to begin with, but not such a fan of pumpkin spice lol! However, their pumpkin spice espresso martini uses real pumpkin purée, and it is so good! Outside of that, they have a list of super cool fall cocktails, one of which is named sweater weather and the other others fall in suit with the clever naming. And for those who know and don't know, the vibes and ambience here is always dope. If you are curious about the new drinks and fall menu, I suggest you swing by, especially to check out their happy hour which runs from 4 to 6 every day and last all day on Thursdays. Tell them that Bri from planes and plates sent you!

Came here with a group of friends to celebrate the Holidays! This place is definitely festive with a lot of fun decorations. They have a holiday cocktail menu with lots to choose from. Their menu doesn't have any GF items listed but the server was very knowledgeable. I ordered a cheese and asparagus omelette with breakfast potatoes. The server mentioned she can have the potatoes cooked in a separate pan to avoid cross-contamination. The food was really good!

My family and I ordinarily go to the Walnut Room for a Christmas brunch/lunch but the food and ambiance has really fallen off the last few years so we tried this as something new! Overall, I loved the food and the Christmas vibe was so cute. I had the avocado toast and my mom had the lobster roll. The fries were so good! Our server was super sweet and I really loved my experience. I'll be back for sure!

Came here with a group of friends recently and had an enjoyable time. The interior is upscale and the service was very attentive. I got the popcorn chicken and I loved that it came with literal popcorn, but the popcorn was stale. My friend got the oysters and liked them and we all loved the truffle parmesan fries, yum! My other friend got the mac n cheese croquettes and was served crab croquettes by mistake. It was fine for her because she likes crab, but I'm allergic to shellfish so that mix-up can be dangerous. We also all got cocktails which were delicious! In particular the lavender one was so tasty. Overall: decent dining experience with good drinks and decent food.

Crab cake Benedict, popcorn chicken, lobster roll, pumpkin pancakes!! We have no notes!!! When my friends were in town I knew Hubbard Inn would have the best Christmas decorations in town and they did not disappoint!!! Sooo cute, festive and cozy inside with incredible incredible service!!!! I really have to shout out Sandra because she really was amazing!!!!! She went above and beyond for us today and made our visit here even better!!!

I've only been to Hubbard Inn for events and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The spicy rigatoni was amazing and my friend loved her burger and truffle fries. I went for their holiday pop up and the vibe was super bright and festive. Service was also great, it was our server's first day but she still gave us awesome recommendations on the popular items on the menu. Drinks were just ok, I found them to be overly sweet but it could be because I got the holiday specials.

For parking you definitely should use Spothero or ParkWhiz, as it's in a very busy/lively part of River North. We loved meeting the owner who was chatting with and checking on guests in the dining room. The menu was really creative and sounded amazing, totally up my alley, so was super excited to try Ila's out for the first time. Unfortunately, and it pains me to say this, but the food itself was a miss for me, and the prices felt steep for the portions. We ordered the empanada duo, grilled scallops, birria lamb pierogis, and sweet corn agnolotti, then the Japanese cheesecake and drip coffee. The positives were that everything tasted fresh, and the flavors of the dishes were good ~ especially the empanadas, scallops, and agnolotti. The main issue was the texture of some of the foods. Other than the empanada (which had a great texture and flavor), the agnolotti and pierogi dough were not right ~ thick, rubbery, and dry, which was exacerbated by not having enough consommé for the pierogis. And the coffee - it honestly tasted like Folgers (though I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) - which took me aback as it was a $7 drip coffee. I'm not discounting Ila's and I truly wish them success. But I think there's some work to be done in terms of execution.

Sometimes, nothing beats a few (or many) drinks in a hottub. They even provide a nifty shower for cleaning up afterwards. The decor is pretty neat as well. The not-so-good: The space isn't huge, wouldn't comfortably fit more than 10-12 people. They don't have normal drinks here, the beers I tried were disgusting, so I just stuck to good ol' scotch. That said, the other cocktails sounded interesting (they were all mostly fruity). The hottub was way too hot, none of us could stay in it very long. We told her we were about to leave anyway, but the way it was handled felt really abrupt and rude. What made it worse was that she immediately brought a group over to take our table, and even they were apologizing to us because they seemed uncomfortable with how it was handled. I've worked in bars and restaurants myself, so I completely understand needing to manage space, but there's a way to do it respectfully, and this wasn't it. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and despite having been here multiple times before, I won't be returning.
