    Radom Sprinkled Donuts Mixed Box

First and last visit. Will not revisit this business!! Food: donuts look good Service: mediocre (BEWARE not friendly towards black and brown people!) Ambiance: clean and casual There is a minimum amount to use card, must spend $4.00 or more. Prices varies depending on the donut and size. A dozen is about $13.00 +\- They do have day old donuts for sale by the bag around $5 (already bagged, usually an assortment)

We happened upon this shop when the restaurant we chose for breakfast was closed. The donuts here are amazing! Lots of variety, good prices, and fresh donuts. We got a half dozen of different types of donuts and ate three right away. The Frosted Red Velvet had a crunch around the exterior from being fried. It had a wonderful mouth feel between the crunch, the soft interior and the sweet icing. The Pink Sprinkle was fresh but no different than most other donut shops. The Chocolate Dipped Sourdough was exactly like the glazed one you typically see but with a nice chocolatey taste - not too sweet either. We are saving the rest for later. The owners welcome you with a smile - great way to start your day. I highly recommend!

Yesterday, I visited Howard's Donuts on Summer and witnessed an employee making a racial comment about a young black male. The worker grew frustrated as the customer wanted to use his debit card, which requires a minimum purchase of $4 or $5. After pondering, he made his choice. When it was my turn, I said, 'It wasn't nice to make that comment!' Others behind me in line replied, 'YEAH!' She then responded, 'If you don't like it, don't shop here!' Howard's Donuts I walked out and will never purchase here again!

Enjoyed the crueller. It was the perfect mix of melt in your mouth and not over glazed. Great donut option.

Probably the most solid in Memphis. I've been eating Howard's since I was in grade school, and I'm not a spring chicken.

I…read morepicked up an apple fritter, a blueberry donut, and a red velvet donut, and the sweet lady helping me surprised me with a free second apple fritter and one of their famous cronuts. Her kindness alone would have earned five stars! Now for the donuts... wow. Seriously some of the best I've ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, soft, and packed with flavor. The apple fritter was amazing, the blueberry and red velvet were delicious, but that cronut absolutely stole the show. It was so flaky, buttery, and soft that I can only imagine how incredible it must be straight out of the fryer. Great donuts, amazing customer service, and such generous people. I'll definitely be back. Thank goodness I can walk there from my place because I have a feeling I'm going to become a regular!

When I walked in, the store appeared clean for the most part, and everything looked fresh. I ordered a kolache first and then decided to get a red velvet donut because it looked so good. However, before the employee could put the donut in the bag, I noticed a large horsefly flying around inside the display case, landing and flying around the donuts. I was instantly disgusted and reacted immediately. The employee seemed to acknowledge it, but her reaction felt more performative than genuinely concerned. It didn't seem to faze her, even as another customer who had already ordered coffee was also watching what was happening. I understand that bakeries and donut shops with open display cases can occasionally have issues with insects, and I'm not saying people shouldn't visit this business. Everyone can make their own decision. But personally, once I saw a horsefly flying around food that was about to be served to me, I couldn't bring myself to knowingly eat it. What surprised me even more was that after seeing my reaction, the employee still asked if I wanted the kolache. At that point, I had completely lost my appetite and simply walked out. I was genuinely looking forward to trying Midtown Donuts, and it's disappointing that my first experience ended this way. Unfortunately, because of what I witnessed, I won't be returning.
