Charlie has some damn good foods! They sell a variety of baked and fried pastry type stuff. I really like the kolaches a lot. I also like saying that word. k o l a c h e s Neat word. They also have bear claws and maple bacon donuts and donuts with sprinkles and cinnamon rolls and donut holes and biscuit sandwiches and custom birthday donuts and hot coffee and hot chocolate and a whole cooler filled with many other delights! Charlie's Donuts doesn't look impressive when you first see it. It's looks like an average Donut shop but that is where the similarities end. What a Gem we found! Be sure to get there early to get the best selection! They even have Maple Bars (which my husband is obsessed with)!! The owners/employees are so wonderful and attentive. I've even had them help me to my vehicle (I use a rollator)! My husband has been on the search for great donuts. We've tried a lot of locally owned donut shops. For a reason I pass this place almost everyday and just last week I noticed it. The lady there told me they have been open for a year and a half now. The hrs are not the most comfortable, but I guess for some people that got to go to work early and pass through here is a good thing. The prices are good ($8.70 w/tax for a dozen) and the variety was very acceptable. This place started off fairly well. Their donuts were good, however not great. The last few of times I've been here they got worse with every visit. When I was there no one was wearing hairnets. When I got home one of my donuts had a hair in it. Not just laying on top... It was IN the icing. Donuts were ok but the place and service seemed a bit run down. I've been to Gibson's and several other top donut places in our country and these were closer to dunkin. Coffee was out so the lady behind the counter had to start a new pot. When it was done it poured slightly brown and the lady said maybe the next batch will be darker :-(. This place has good donuts however, the staff has been less than courteous. I'm not sure about during the week but on the weekends there are always the same two people working and they hardly speak other than to tell you your total. I feel like they hate their job and I'm asking them to do me a favor when I place my order. The lady does a great job when filling the eclairs but the boy barely puts any stuffing in them at all. The last 3 times we bought the cream cheese filled eclairs he filled them and we were very disappointed. Today I went by and picked up a dozen glazed and when I left he was standing right outside the front door smoking a cigarette (which I think is against city ordinance) and I had to walk through his smoke cloud. I really hope the staff gets better or they get better staff because this is the closest donut place to my house and they are pretty good donuts. read more

The quality of the donuts are good, but they are never open on time. Business hours are 5:00a.m. - 2:00 p.m. I have been by twice as late as 5:20 a.m. to bring donuts to work and they are still not open. . . maybe they should change the hours to 5:30 ! read more
