Let's be candid about the ambiance : hospitals and warehouses are sometimes 'warmer' and more inviting. Rugs and a few comfortable chairs could make a small step in the right direction, but without dropping a fake ceiling by cables and modular walls on wheels...Cozy will not show in most peoples' reviews. 2.) What doubles down on preventing this space from rising in people's awareness as a 'third place' includes the fact cellular service is almost zero for VZ and AT&T and there is NO Wifi. So meeting someone for coffee to discuss anything necessitating connectivity? For-gedaboud-it. Last week at a different coffee bar I saw two ladies collaborating on decorating ideas while hopping web sites. In another case I perceived two colleagues were working out a series of sales calls and travel plans via airlines, maps, and hotel locations. NONE of that can occur at Press when there is no wifi and trying to tether via your phone initiates frustrating doubt that the single bar of connectivity is even real.

The table was not wiped off, the water was out, and the trash was overflowing to the point it was piled so high that adding any more would tip out. They'd come out to refill the water or to deliver food or to take my trash (but not empty the actual trash???) but never to like wipe down the tables or do any of the things I usually see people doing. It was odd. Also, weird question but why is there a mint dispenser that doesn't work? It doesn't have a sign. One of the girls mentioned someone wouldn't remove it and that it was from "before" so I guess from whatever this place was previously? Anyway, the menu was also odd. They only had one that we could use at our table so our friends and I had to swap it back and forth. Some things were whited out, which is fine, but then there were things without prices next to them, which is not fine. I am not a big fan of surprises in pricing. The menu listed build your own options, but not prices next to things. I ended up picking some things for a burrito and having to ask what the price was before I committed. It ended up tasting fine and I even liked the salsa it came with. However, everyone in my party agreed that they did not like that aspect. It actually deterred my friends from ordering from that menu. I was also deterred but they were out of pesto so I couldn't get the turkey sandwich I wanted. The muffin was loaded with chocolate chips and also had very pleasant notes of cinnamon and other warming spices. The latte had the perfect amount of ice in it and a discernible, fairly strong biscoff taste, which I enjoyed. My one main wish was that it been mixed a bit more before served; most of the syrup was at the bottom and came through in either gigantic overwhelming mouthfuls or not at all. However, that was a fairly easy remedy to render myself with a few good stirs of my straw. I'd say this visit is a 4.5.
