Cinnamon spice latte (8 oz)
Anokhy D.

We love the houndstooth chain so we always look forward to trying other locations. This was my first time at this location. On a weekday afternoon, I found street parking, the line was short, there was plenty of parking, and my cinnamon spice latte came out quickly. The latte was solid and environment was pretty quiet so I sipped in peace.

The store opened 2 hours late yesterday - I've recently had my routine of getting a half gallon of cold brew and they charge me a bit extra as I add the limeade to it. The staff today refused to do it, and said they did not know how to (it's prebatched and on the menu). I informed them I've done this several + times now and it's simply cold brew plus mix, I'd be happy to pay whatever. They had me waiting for a while.I informed them I'd wait. To only tell me they can't ring up cold brew ^ which is clearly outlined on the menu as half gallon cold brew prices plus add ons. Just bad attitude and service overall, weird not to want someone to pay "whatever" and get turned down. So in a rust ended up paying $7 for a limeade cold brew that was mainly ice. Don't go here yall Go to Ghoul coffee it's the best spot in Austin

I had a wonderful seasonal latte with chocolate and strawberry with the most amazing latte art - complete with red powdered sugar. The vibe was modern and sleek and the price reasonable. The service was okay - would prefer a more cheerful barista who can explain the various coffee beans and the drink options available.

5/5 for vibes, 3/5 for tea (but who is ever really here for tea?) Worked remotely from here and it was a nice experience! Huge window walls, lots of natural lighting, ample seating. I didn't pay attention if there were adequate outlets, but I think there wasn't many. Overall, nice place to be at!

A friend moved right next door so I was excited to hopefully get a new neighborhood coffee place. My coffee has always been good. But there's a couple things that take away from a better experience. They don't have any coconut milk or heavy cream. It just seems weird- those are pretty standard coffee add ins. The other is the fact when you pay, you can't touch the credit card screen. So the cashier turns it around and says, loudly, in this very small space with people standing in line listening "do you want to tip". So not only do you have to bc who wants the be THAT guy, but then you have to give an amount and again, who wants to be THAT GUY? I'm all for tipping but I do it because I want to- not because I'm weirdly shamed to. And I get it, it's covid but all other places simply wipe a screen or use paper receipts to write a tip in. Also, an iced coffee and a vanilla latte somehow cost $11, which is appalling.

As I have been exploring all of the different coffee shops in Austin, I have come to realize that there are two types of coffee shops. The social coffee shops and the working coffee shop. Houndstooth is definitely a social coffee shop. First, the ambiance of the coffee shop is really nice and open. I love a modern classic coffee shop with a nice aesthetic so I appreciate that they have such a cute and simplistic vibe. The music was so good too. Usually I prefer when a coffee shop doesn't have music on super loud but I appreciated all of the music they were playing. Now, with that being said, they had NO outlets. I had come to study and get work done but unfortunately I wasn't able to get much done cause my computer died and there was no plugs. After 6pm they turn off the lights and turn up the music too. I had a regular hot latte with white chocolate syrup and their holiday foam and it was absolutely delicious! They have so many drink options and they also have a bar if your would rather have an alcoholic beverage. Overall I would come back to catch up with friends and if i'm in the area but I would not come back to study.

Visited Houndstooth for some remote work during our visit to Austin. Enjoyed the coffee from Houndstooth. They had breakfast tacos and a small pastry selection. We were close enough to walk, but it doesn't appear that parking is easy in the area. Three stars because, while it appears to be a great location for working remotely, there are no outlets to charge a laptop. We found out the hard way when our laptops alerted us the battery was low. A lot of other reviews mention it as well, but I haven't looked ahead unfortunately. Maybe to save on their electric bill? Maybe to discourage people from staying seated all day? Who knows, but I would have appreciated a heads up there were no outlets when we asked for the Wi-Fi password.

The coffee is really good and the place looks really nice. There isn't that many people so it makes a good study spot. The worker was also super nice and was able to recommend drinks well as it was my first time there. I think the coffee was a bit bitter at first but the worker added some more syrup when I told her!

Visiting Austin & staying down the street walking distance from our Airbnb. Decided to try out Houndstooth for some early morning coffee, and we're glad we did! I got a vanilla latte & my husband a honey-lavender latte. It was our quickly & we were greeted & helped by friendly staff. We didn't get breakfast but I saw they had breakfast tacos & some yummy looking pastries. It was nice & clean inside & super pet-friendly. I took a long look at their Polaroid wall of fur babies- so cute!!

Great coffee & clean space! However, there are very few outlets, so it's not a great place to sit and work.

Baristas are chill and quirky, the coffee is caffeinated and slurpy. Inoffensive, beige.

I did, and fortunately, Radio was walking distance from where I was staying. I prefer tea over coffee, and the black tea did absolute wonders for me. I loved that they offered a free refill on drinks, because that caffeine helped me stay alert and awake after some mild jet lag and for all the things I was looking forward to doing during the day. Since my friends had to work, I had time for myself during the day, and getting my caffeine fix helped me with the day. The place is not too loud, aside from customers placing orders and the drinks being made and the music playing. The staff was really helpful and friendly. I 100% recommend this place to anyone passing through Austin, moving to Austin, or whatever else.

We got there during happy hour, which runs daily from 3-6, and had the burger and fries along with the open-faced summer sando. Both were amazing- the burger was so good, and the summer sando was fresh, flavorful, and a nice lighter option. We also shared a bottle of rosé, which was perfect before heading to the show. They also have a really large outdoor patio, which gives the whole place such a relaxed, casual Austin feel and makes it a great spot to hang out when the weather is nice. I also love that they have an in-house bakery and make so much from scratch. Everything we had was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and we'll definitely be back.

In the past you could show up and find a table outside! Sadly that is no longer the case there was a line wrapped around the door so there was a wait for both indoor and outdoor seating but once our names were on the list we were seated inside quickly. I ordered the happy hour burger which was $6, incredible price but I found the burger sauce to be overly sour! It needed some sweetness to balance it out. The fries were good but definitely over seasoned. The HONEY CAKE was incredible!!! Just a delicious fall day in a dessert. Cinnamon, fluffy whipped layers of cream, with crumble on top--PERFECTION. The sour dough loaf it was delicious too! Friend and I got it to go. I feel like the bread is fairly priced at $7 for a loaf. Service was much better this time around and although they were extremely busy my food and drink came out quickly. I ordered the Apple cinnamon daiquiri (tasted like an apple tini) $6 on HH! It's tiny and packs a PUNCH! I could only finish half of it but then again I'm a light weight so go try it for yourself! The kids are still an issue running around unsupervised but all around it was a very pleasant experience!

Cute neighborhood bookshop :)…read more Lots of community events for adults and kids. There's always something for everyone. They carry a lot of book titles and if they don't have it in store, you can order online as well. They also sell notebooks, cards, merch, and lots of knick knacks. Seating inside can be limited but there's lots of outdoor seating too. There's a parking lot across the street if the parking lot next door is full and they also have lots of neighborhood parking. There was also a semi-small outdoor area that promoted or facilitated an area for people to converse. There was books on the inside and I must say... its like a more local, mini startup of a bookstore like FOX, Borders or Barnes and nobles. You have books and a coffee shop. They had some pastries and very little amount of edibles but the Dirty chai was wonderful! It was not so sweet where your teeth is about to decay with every sip! Although, it was still premixed with sugar... Now... The ambiance was lovely. It was a quiet kind of charm and, can be peaceful.
