Stopped in for lunch and I'm glad I did. It was a beautiful day, so I asked to be seated on the patio. The patio has a really nice vibe, spacious, plenty of seating, and umbrellas for shade. I started with a white sangria, but it tasted a bit watered down, maybe from too much ice. My server was super kind and swapped it out for a red sangria, which was much better. I ordered the crab-stuffed shrimp from the seasonal menu, and it hit the spot. It came with rice and asparagus. Everything was tasty, though I would've preferred the asparagus cooked a bit longer. Houlihan's is a great gathering spot for friends and family. From the outdoor dining, to the expansive bar area, and the large dining room, there are many seating options. They do take reservations, which is nice. Sometimes upon arrival, there is no one at the hostess stand and you may need to wait a bit to be helped and seated. They have a great happy hour menu and regular menu with also has Prix fixe menu options. The service is almost always good, especially in the bar dining area where we have had the pleasure of having the one of the same servers for years. We often go there during happy hour and order several to share as well as drinks, as our meal, because the happy hour menu has such a vast array of options, which offer many choices that are not your typical friend bar food. Lunch or dinner with friends or family is always a nice experience especially with the ambiance of the rich dark wood, mood lighting, and clean interior and usually clean restrooms. The lunch and dinner menu is large and has something for everyone, whether I'd be light and healthy or decadent in nature. However, in the past I've only ever ordered the wings during happy hour - so when I ordered the wings outside of happy hour, I expected at least 10 wings for $15.99. When I was only given 7 wings, I was taken aback. Lol. felt ripped off!!!! I would never buy 7 wings for $15.99. They need to make that VERY clear as I'm sure that I'm not the first to feel bamboozled. Days later and I still want my money back! no sides, just 7 wings for $15.99. They should replace the carpet or use a different cleaning solution because when you walk in, it smells really bad like old restaurant carpet or dirty mop water. Good food is standard here - so nothing new there (it was delicious). Our server, Caleb (or Kaleb) was great! I love a nice dry wit and he certainly had that. It's unfortunately rare these days to have servers who give great customer service. So when you do encounter it, it stands out. Great job Caleb - ask them for a raise. This restaurant is still proving to be a delightful and favorite place to dine. For many years it was MY 'place to be', but at some point it seemed to have somewhat lost its mojo. In recent years however, it was re-invented and oh my, the food, atmosphere AND service are all on point. Hotdog! They've added MORE delectable dishes to the menu such as the down home pot roast, honest gold mashers, red wine mushroom gravy and garlic green beans and they are fire! From the presentation to every single bite...all are most flavorful and filling. Another hot item is the famous Thai wings. These are among THE Best I've ever experienced and they keep me coming back for more. No matter what I choose these MUST BE ordered as well. The grilled Atlantic salmon, house salad and vegetables are great as well for those that choose to dine meatless. Whatever the fare it will be well worth the trip and then some! Also, the service has been pleasingly pleasant which is essential to my dining experience. Bad service will keep me at home or finding another restaurant to spend my coins, for sure! The ambiance is inviting and there are TV's conveniently displayed throughout some of the restaurants for the sports enthusiasts. I would rare the food a 4 and the service and atmosphere an 2. After sitting at our table a while I asked our hostess if she could get our server. She came a few minutes later after walking by saying she had too much going on. She hurriedly took our order seeming put out that she had too much wait on us. My husband wanted to order another beer but she never checked back on us to ask if we needed anything. I had crème brûlée for dessert that I had asked to have to go. She brought it out and it was just dumped in a box and looked terrible. They were just trying to get us out the Door. Houlihan's is my go-to happy hour spot. Excellent cocktails and many to choose from. Their dinner options are great as well and they make everything in house! (Even their sauces!!) I love that they rotate their seasonal menus throughout the year and still keep their classic menu if you have some favs you want to stick with.
