I recently moved to the Baltimore and started taking Hot Yoga at the Yoga Tree, and I came across the wellness center next door where I set up a facial with Hot Wax. I met Becky, who was super nice and a Aesthetician, and was able to actually talk to me about my skin issues. I have scars from cystic acne, hyper pigmentation, acne, and melasma from pregnancy four years ago! I have lots happening on my face. Becky suggested brightening peels and gave me the best facials! Ever! Such a relaxing experience. After a few facials she suggested a new system,Celluma, that she had recently purchased and thought I would benefit from. It's $55 per treatment, and it's safe and no downtime. You just put your face under these LED panels and lay under it for 30 mins. I have spent thousands of dollars at dermatologists and their machines, hoping to get healthier looking skin. None of them worked for my skin, and I paid them with my first born child. These Celluma treatments worked! I had six sessions (recommended) and my skin has had amazing improvements. Especially with my scars (smoothed out) and the acne marks on my face. My face just feels healthier and smoother and after the summer i fully intend on going back to get six more sessions to tackle what the summer does to my skin. My husband even noticed how much better my skin looked. He knows how many issues I have had with my skin. Loved it. Highly recommend. And Becky and her crew are awesome, flexible and can help with so much. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! If you're getting a wax, go here and ask for Robin! You'll thank me later. I have been getting waxed since I can remember. I have been to some good places, ok places, horror story places and amazing places. Baltimore Hot Wax is one of those amazing places. Clean and professional environment. It's inexpensive for the quality of service (depending on who you get request I guess- I only see Robin) but I can't imagine a poor level of service there. If it's your first time getting waxed, DO NOT skimp on the price and go for a cheap nail salon. Trust me- not worth it. Go somewhere with talented, wonderful, professional and experienced staff. They have a service called the Bikini Facial and it's unreal. I have had issues with ingrowns and this service is a lifesaver for me- I'll never go without it. Robin is a saint- she'll make you feel so comfortable from the moment she sees you, It's like your family. Again, if it's your first time, you'd want someone like Robin- she makes it fun and is distracting from the minimal "pain" you might experience. Or if it's your millionth time getting waxed (like me), ask for Robin, she'll have you out of there in a second. Very fast and unbelievably thorough. SO glad I found this spot! never going anywhere else! read more

I am so glad I happened upon this place. I needed a wax before a trip and HotWax is close to where I work. I got a Brazilian Bikini Wax with Rebecca and she is a rockstar x100. First of all, it was a really snowy day and they did not cancel my appointment (yay!) so they're really reliable. I came in and we started right on time. It was a very clean and cute space. Rebecca was awesome-- she really knows her stuff and is super thorough. She uses special kinds of waxes for different hair you have growing, so in some areas she'll use one kind and then another kind in a different area. That made a huge difference in how much it hurt and how red and bumpy I was after (almost not at all, which is a first for me). She was chatty and friendly which I love; for me, I want to be as distracted as possible, plus if someone is waxing that area I feel way better about it if they are talking to me like a normal person! Overall, this is the best Brazilian I have had. I've paid similar prices in other places in Illinois, New Jersey, and Maryland, and HotWax makes me feel like it is 100% worth it based on the quality of the wax and just the overall experience. read more

I have been to HotWax twice and have another appointment next week. My first was for a signature facial. It was amazing! Becky is warm and inviting and the salon is relaxing and peaceful. She tells you everything she is doing, explains the products, and goes above and beyond to give you the experience you are looking for! She is very knowledgeable. When I left my skin felt great. The second time I went I got a Brazilian. Now I know why she is called the 'waxing ninja'! Not only does she work fast when waxing but she is meticulous and pays close attention to detail. She knows what she is doing and makes sure you are satisfied with the waxing before you leave! Very professional, very good, will never go to anyone else for waxing again!! 100% recommend Becky and HotWax! read more

This place is so friendly and welcoming! The entire staff are so sweet and nice and always greet you, even when you are not their "client." I see Mittal for my monthly waxing and facials - and she is the best. So quick, so knowledgeable, so funny, so engaging, and any other awesome adjective you can think of. She saw a need for improvement of my skin care routine (which was pretty basic at the time), and very kindly recommending monthly peels and facials. I was nervous, because who wouldn't be when they hear "chemical peel," - but Mittal walked me through every step. After the treatment, she gave me a new skincare routine to follow. After a few weeks, my face looks like I am in my 20's again! It is smooth, there are no breakouts, and it looks so much healthier. read more

I went to hot wax to get my eyebrows done and Mittal did an awesome job. She is very quick and very friendly. She made sure i get what i wanted. I am very picky about my eyebrows shape and she maintains that beautifully. I went back again and did facial with her and she not only did it great but also made me so relaxed. My skin is now nice and tight and i can see the difference. I tried Brazilian too which i was very scared but Mittal relaxed me and it didn't even hurt and now my skin is so smooth. Will definitely go back again and i highly recommend Mittal for her services and warm welcome she gives to everyone .Mittal deserves more than 5 stars. The place is amazing and is very clean. All the staff is very friendly. I love this place. read more

I love hotwax! Parking is not an issue as they have a parking lot conveniently located behind the building. I have always thought of the space as clean and put together. I always go to see Brittany as I have for a long time now, and she never disappoints. I find the prices to be extremely reasonable and I would describe all of my experiences there as comfortable and easy. Waxes can be intimidating, especially if it is your first time receiving one. Brittany always makes everything as painless and as comfortable as possible, and I will continue to go back to her. If you are looking to get some type of wax and are nervous about prices, cleanliness, professionalism, and comfort; definitely give hot wax a shot! read more

I've been going to Hotwax for years and even after moving out of the area, I still come back here for eyebrow and lip threading and Brazilian. My eyebrows are very thick which I love and Mittal is wonderful at just shaping them instead of taking a lot off. I love that as I have had previous bad experiences with waxing eyebrows or taking too much off at other waxing places but at Hotwax I'm always respected that I would like to keep the thickness of the brow and just shaped. Also, Mittal is so quick and through with the Brazilian! Brazilians are always painful but Mittal makes it fast and does the job right and always asks if you're okay through out the whole experience. read more

I scheduled a Brazilian wax with Mittal today and I absolutely agree with everyone else regarding her warm sweet demeanor and professionalism. When I walked in she greeted me with a smile and maintained that same friendly sentiment the entire time. I expressed to her that this wasn't my first time but that it had in fact been quite a while. She assured me that this was not a problem and got right to work. The whole process was quick with very little pain. Mittal made me feel very comfortable and at ease from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend Mittal for any services that you want done at Hot Wax. I will definitely be requesting her for myself from now on. read more

I had an amazing session with Mimi today. Her Brazilian waxing method is fast and fantastic (in her bio it says speed waxing). Instead of the painful full area removal with large strips that can leave you breathless for several minutes, she used a fast and methodical method with smaller sections in quick succession. I felt comfortable and welcome. Perfection! I also did threading for my brows and lip instead of wax. It was my first threading experience and the results are awesome. I have a brow scar so it's hard to make them look even, they are beautifully done. I'll be back to see Mimi for these services and the facial she described. Thanks Mimi! read more

This place is amazing! I've never had a Brazilian wax before but one of my girlfriends talked me into it and recommended I go to Hotwax and see Tara. I was SO SO nervous going in considering I had no idea what to expect and was already stressing about how uncomfortable I imagined it would be. Well no wonder Tara comes so highly recommended because she is absolutely incredible! Super professional, very personable, welcoming, fast, efficient and she made me feel as if I had been there many times before. I had such a great experience I'm going back for my first facial! Great experience all around so thank you Tara and Hotwax I will surely be back. read more

I went into Hotwax, sat down, and quickly met the coolest young woman. Her name is Taylor, and she's an esthetician. She was working on my brows, mapping them, tinting them, and waxing them, and she was amazing. As well as providing wonderful conversation, she kindly explained each element of the brow and actually told me why she loved working on eyebrows. It was wonderful. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. And the job she did was amazing. I didn't think my brows could ever look so good. I'm still amazed. So, if you want skill, kindness, and fun conversation, ask for Taylor. I was just so taken aback by the entire experience. read more

HotWax is definitely as good as it gets! I have been a regular for over 6 months now and have always had a great experience! I've had all three girls, Becky, Amanda and Lindsay for waxing services- It's always a good sign that I take whichever appointment is convenient for my time rather than having to be picky with who it's with! They all make the brazilian experience as quick and painless as possible, always attentive and making sure I'm comfortable. This boutique-like space is newly renovated and right inside The Yoga Tree off of the avenue in Hampden. Very convenient, and free parking in the back! Highly recommended!! read more

Mittal was everything I've been searching for my brows! My brows have never looked so good and she did them exactly how I wanted without me even saying a word. Lol. She has a forever client with me now. This was my first visit to Hotwax and I absolutely loved it from the moment I stepped through the door. The environment is so fresh and vibrant and the ladies who work their are so pleasant and welcoming. I just loved it! I've already raved to all of my friends about Mittal and this place. I can't wait to try some of the other services and to have Mittal blessed these bows again. Thanks again, se y'all soon. -Kenyona read more

I have been a loyal customer since the day I met Becky over two years ago. The atmosphere and professionalism is top of the line. As soon as you walk in the door you feel comfortable and relaxed which is important for any spa and waxing services. I have been getting waxes and facials from Becky and I must say she is the absolute best, very prompt and accessible with appointments. Pricing is very reasonable in comparison to other salon services and honestly cannot be beat by any other local services. Recently began a skincare treatment with Becky's expertise and my skin has never looked more clear and moisturized. read more

I am such a big fan of HotWax for my brows! I've had my brows waxed by almost everyone who works at the spa and they have all been fantastic! I visited Amanda (so nice!) today and loved the way she did my brows. I've also been to Lindsay and Robin in the past and they are great too! At HotWax, they value a good, thick brow with a nice shape--which is how I like it! I'm pretty particular about my brows and have had them over-waxed before...not at all the case here. The booking is easy, staff is professional, clean practices and it feels like everyone gets personal attention and care. So happy I found this place! read more

I had been waxed previously at a competing beauty bar and nothing compares to the experience I've had so far with HotWax in Baltimore. The first time I came I met Robin who talked me through EVERYTHING, and I will continue to request her in the future. I HIGHLY recommend booking with her if you are nervous about your first wax. She is fun, FAST, and makes waxing as pain free as possible (clearly competitors lack this skill). She is able to do EVERYTHING and I left with a big smile on my face. If you are looking for a new experience (a good one) then you must book at HotWax with Robin. She's the best! read more

What an amazing experience! I recently had a fabulous facial with Rebecca and was so pleased with the results. My skin was so soft and glowing afterwards and the whole thing was so relaxing! She recommended some wonderful products for me to use and since using them, my skin has cleared up and the redness has gone away! Plus the products leave my skin looking great and its actually a joy to use them - like a spa experience at home. Rebecca is so kind, professional, and knowledgeable that I have recommended HotWax to all of my friends and, of course, I'll definitely be going back myself! read more

Last week was my first time going to HotWax to get my back and shoulders waxed. When I called to make an appointment, I spoke to Mittal who answered all of my questions and set up a time for me to come in. When I got there, it was Mittal who ended up doing the waxing. She was great, she knew what she was doing, she was quick and got me to schedule a facial with her as well. When I came in for the facial, it was my first time and had no clue what I was in for. After working with Mittal again, I set up monthly appointments to work with her on a monthly basis. I highly recommend her!!! read more
