Suffice it to say that I've had some very good treatments with very professional staff. I decided to give Laser Away a try when I answered an Instagram ad. I was skeptical of their low per unit prices for Botox/Xiamen. I'm not crazy about how their national switchboard will bug you to death when you answer an online inquiry. However, I made an appointment through text messaging and phone calls and then showed up at my appointment in Baltimore. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. The place is very clean if not minimalist. I went back in the back with my nurse who was very thorough and answered my 400 questions about all of the different things they offer here. One thing the nurse will not do is quote you a price in the treatment room. If you are interested in any of their services you have to go up to the front and then they text or email you a link and you get your exorbitant price for whatever service they offer. When I tell you that they are expensive, child, they are expensive. But when I compared it to other establishments' posted rates for the same services, they were pretty competitive. I came for skin injections; you know, wrinkle remover/ muscle relaxing, that sort of thing. They used fewer units than I was quoted that they would need, but that's fine because the way they work here is you buy a bank of units and then you use those units that you need and the rest or bank for a later visit. So out of the 90 they said they thought I would need I ended up using roughly 70 of them, including a follow up touch up appointment. I decided at six dollars a unit I might as well just get a big bank of them so I have an eternity's worth of units. So I'm back because my frown muscles have the godly strength of Mars and I don't want to be able to frown at all. It scares my students. (My excuse). I chatted up the front desk staff about some of their new injectables and was offered a warm beverage while I waited. Bottom line is that you'll have to pay for the services or units upfront. You can finance them through a third-party if you need to. To give you an idea I got 300 units of Xiamen for roughly $6 a unit and I had the choice of 0% financing (go good credit) or getting the airline points. Either way, $6 a unit?' Y'all who know, know. Come expecting to be pampered and treated with respect . Whether you're a gorgeous young thing or a middle aged man comme moi, you'll leave well-treated and served. My only criticism would be that much of their literature and their promotions are geared towards lighter skinned female-presenting people. I would like to see more darker completed and male-presenting people in their promotions and staff.

She made me feel grotesque and foolish before even asking about my history or what my gender journey has been like - instead she just "couldn't believe I had been walking around looking like that". I've felt never felt so disrespected by someone who was supposed to be administering me care. I contemplated just leaving right then and there, but I thought she would've insulted me further by charging me a cancelation fee on top of the humiliation. Instead of apologizing, she continued to double and triple down on what she had said throughout the session, especially once she learned that my occupation is as a visual merchandiser in a clothing store. I was recently diagnosed with Dermatographic Urticaria - which is a condition that is also known as skin drawing - which makes shaving a very difficult and painful process. I have a lower pain tolerance and used a numbing cream a few hours before hand on the right side of my face - as I have had previous electrolysis treatments on that side. I told Stacey this, but she insisted that she work on both sides of my face, even after I told her I would prefer not to because of my pain tolerance. She also told me that I made her feel bad for crying after she insulted me. Stacey claims to be a 'Trans Ally" but if she really was, she never would have treated me the way that she did.

De'Zha is who you want to see if you're looking for a switch. I've been doing this for 10yrs and I know a thing or two about how I should feel after a wax. Itching, burning, red spots and bumpy isn't one of them. I temporarily live in Baltimore coming from Cali but I still need to keep up with the maintenance The wax specialist I went to twice is WAY aggressive with her waxing. I couldn't understand why I had these issues. Come to find out that my skin was being ripped leaving small minor lacerations causing me all types of irritation and I noticed right away during the session. I has little raised bumps along the bikini line in some areas. My vagina lips would burn. The second time around I had to put a small amount of natural mango butter on the "labia majora" larger vagina lips to get some extra healing and relief. I had major irritation ladies and gents. I'm a brown tone woman and there's no reason I should see pinkish reddish tent on my vagina lips. There's no reason I should wipe after a few days and I see balls of skin on my white cloth. My apologies ahead of time. I won't mention any names here. You'll know who's aggressive and who's not. Please take my word for it, Just go with De'Zha if this is your first time at this location.

With said information, I decided to make an appointment. I arrived at Village Electrolysis early one Saturday morning and found a nice unassuming building near Northern Parkway. The Village Electrolysis office gave me old world decor vibes, but when it was time for business, all the modern bells and whistles were available. Brian greeted me and had me fill out a brief medical history form. He then gave me a very detailed explanation about the various electrolysis methods and processes and which one would be best for my situation, etc etc. After that, I practically leapt on the table to receive my first treatment. NGL and say electrolysis feels good, because it doesn't. HOWEVER, Brian made it as painless as possible, while being incredibly thorough. I've had laser hair removal treatments before and they were unpleasant, marked with the smell of burning hair. Electrolysis with Brian was 1,000x better. Several days later I am happy to report micro pigmentation has barely occurred (with laser I suffered HUGE dark spots I had to cover with concealer) and the hair has left the building for the time being. Very happy with my first treatment and will be riding this train with Brian until all the hair is gone.
