I've been to this place a few times before and it has always been very nice, clean and reasonable. Everyone who works there is very nice! I've never had a problem until now. I had to wait over 25 minutes past my appointment time to be seen which was really frustrating. I tried to be patient because it was Valentine's Day and I understood they were busy. I had an appointment to get my upper lip done, and she ended up cutting my lip in multiple spots leaving it raw and red. Very upsetting and also painful. This company said that my review was fake and said that I never went there which is a lie. I first went to hot wax in 2022 and my last appointment was July 25th, 2023. I liked Melissa, but she was let go because they decided to fire everyone that worked there and have a new staff that are incompetent. I know this review is a year later, but I will not be told that my review is fake after being there uncomfortably and having someone who doesn't know what they're doing wax me for an almost an hour for something that should only take about 5 minutes. But I first went there with the original stuff & I was in and out and I didn't have hair on me & the worker was nice. The last time I went, I was sitting in the room for longer than necessary, and they were waxing me for for longer than necessary just for there to still be wax on me and Hair left behind. Very disappointing, I will definitely not be going back. I wish I could give zero stars. I went in for an eyebrow threading today and was told to sit in the chair in the front room, right by the front door. No privacy, no consultation. The woman barely asked what I wanted and didn't even examined my brows, she just started threading. I asked for them to be just cleaned up, not too thin. She didn't listen. She took way too much off and also trimmed my brows UNEVENLY. I was left with red skin all around my brows and some bleeding under each one. Good thing they grow back. read more

I have been going to HotWax since last year when I didn't feel as comfortable going to my threading salon due to COVID-19. Mittal has been incredible! Instead of getting my face/brows fully threaded, she now waxes everything first and then does touch-ups with thread as needed. She fixed my brow shape and they always look perfect after I've gone in to see her. I've also gotten a facial from her after being vaccinated and she did an incredible job with my skin; I felt like my skin was suffering from the stress of the pandemic plus wearing masks - dried out, dark spots from acne, etc. But after I got the facial with her, my skin finally felt so refreshed and I'm hoping to come back and get a light chemical peel at some point from her again. The salon is clean and everyone is always so polite and friendly! They had done a good job of making sure the waiting space was not overcrowded earlier in the pandemic and Mittal mentioned to me that she was fully vaccinated when I was feeling a little nervous about coming in. I had the most God awful experience at Hot Wax. I decided to get two areas done by MIMI and she was so mean and harsh in my wax that I developed folliculitis. She literally was upset when I told her I have been using a different esthetician for my wax jobs through Summer 2022. Did she do this on purpose??? Folliculitis is a very painful and itchy infection of the hair follicle. I asked about how to care for the wax job in the salon and said what they usually give the customer is out of stock. She was so upset that I used a coupon that was emailed to me by Hot Wax. I was given a refund. Buyer beware, Ladies I would suggest laser hair removal before I ever coming back here. Do you understand how embarrassing it is to go to the emergency room for this kind of issue. No words, never coming back!!! read more

I wasn't too impressed with the service I received. I probably would've gone even lower in my rating, but I liked the technician and the receptionist. I went in there before a big trip and got a full leg and bikini wax. My hair was definitely long enough on my lower leg, and I asked the question if it was long enough on my upper leg and was told it was fine. The result was not great. It felt like I had stubble after the service... As if I had shaved recently, which I intentionally has not shaving in two months to make sure the hair was long enough. Both the technician and the receptionist felt the patches on my leg and agreed with me. We contacted the owner who said that sometimes hair remains on the leg even after a waxing. This might be true, but it would've been good to have known that upfront. And the top leg hair was definitely not long enough and I think that was the issue there, but I should've been told. It would've been a less expensive and less painful treatment. The owner said there was nothing she could do, but she offered a 15% discount on my next visit - she never took down my information or even gave me her name or anything so I know it was basically a bogus offer. So I have a bit of a two way lens here. So the gentleman went in for his first Man Brazilian Wax thing..or whatever they call it lol. He was concerned about his first wax and the women there were more than willing to answer his questions. He mentions that Nattel made him feel welcome and helped ease the awkwardness that comes with someone seeing your genitals. So for myself, I have a bit of mixed reviews. The wax overall was good and Nattel was very quick. I'm just not sure if the wax placement overall was best. I know they can be painful, but this was a bit more painful than normal in certain areas. Personally, I think the wax may have been too hot. But she did also inform me of other awesome services they offer. Oh and the balm they have for after your wax is pretty awesome!
