This business is very unprofessional!! I was looking for a new aesthetician due to my old aesthetician moving and decided to try them out based on the reviews. I booked my appointment for 4/24 at 6:30pm. It took me 32 minutes to get here, including finding parking. I walked to the door and realized no one was at the location. I knocked, and called several times, NO Answer!!! After the fifth call, I finally got a text message. The message basically stated that she had an emergency and could not do my appointment. I did not receive a phone call or a text message telling me this prior to getting to the business. Then you text me instead of answering the phone. Very unprofessional!!! I expressed that no one even contacted me before coming here. I would love not to have driven here and burn gas, because gas is not cheap!!! She said that she did NOT have my number saved and could not reach me, but I made the appointment just the day prior and she asked me for my number so whose fault is that? I honestly think she messed up, and got her days mixed up when she booked my appointment, because on her door the hours of operation for today are from 10 AM to 5 PM, remind you she made my appointment for 630pm. I also noticed that any other day she usually opens till 8 o'clock so I believe she just blatantly forgot about me based on this..... I had a wonderful waxing experience here recently. Corinne was efficient, friendly, and gave me what was possibly the gentlest wax I've ever had. She uses soft wax (the kind removed with strips of cloth), which I think is less painful, and it was warm but not hot. Overall, just a very positive experience. The studio is one door down from Dangerously Delicious Pies on the Square, so street parking is usually not an issue. It is on the third floor of the building and I don't think there is an elevator, so beware of that if stairs are a problem. I also got an amazing deal through their website, which had a half-off deal if you pre-paid. I believe they also do Groupons sometimes, so look out for deals! read more

I had a service done here this past week. I went in for a lash lift and tint. This whole experience was by far horrific. To listening to the lash technician talk disrespectfully about her boss, to being rude to me, and complaining about her life for the entire hour and 15 minutes it took to have this service done. Not only was the customer service here absolutely terrible.The service for my lashes ended up being horribly done. Positive stuff first: Staff was super friendly. The space was attractive. Flexible hours. Convenient to Canton. BUT this is the worst eyebrow job I have had in a decade. My eyebrows are totally different shapes. Tons of stray hairs under the brow. No brushing or trimming. Yes, I could have said something when asked what I thought about the result. At that point, I didn't trust them to be able to fix the situation. The forehead massage at the end was nice. I read reviews before I went. I thought I could handle the unpleasant-ness factor in exchange for a cheap brazilian. I was sorely mistaken. I arrived a few minutes early, the receptionist immediately went to set up (yay for punctual). The table was bare, there was nothing to cover your bum after undressing. Aesthestician walks in, door wide open for everyone to peek on the goods. Uncomfortable. The wax was more unpleasant than a typical brazilian because she covers large parts of hair in wax at once. (There was no effort to try to take off small bits at a time.) The whole experience was unpleasant-the waxer never introduced herself, didn't say 2 words, awkward. When I got home I noticed the lashes in the corner of my right eye were not lifted rather they were bent down. I tried to help them out myself with a curler and some clear mascara but no luck. I bought their Groupon for three Brazilians for $90 which is a great deal. They also didn't give me any problems for using the Groupon, which is a plus since a lot of businesses hassle Groupon customers in my experience. I've had one of my three waxes. They were very efficient and the results were good. However, because of the efficiency, they spend very little time on making you comfortable. All the other waxing places I've been to use lots of lotion at not only after, but during the wax to reduce irritation. Bare on the Square only used some baby powder after the wax was done. The lady ( I forgot who i had) told me I was welcome to use more powder if I wanted to and rushed out. I don't think that it was a coincidence that I hurt A LOT more after this wax than my previous ones. The irritation actually felt like my skin was burning and lasted for a couple hours. It gets worse. I scheduled my second wax at 3 PM on a Saturday. When I got there (at exactly 3), the door was locked and there was no sign saying anything about where they might have gone or when they'd return. I called, but unsurprisingly no one answered. I don't have my own car and got there with a rented ZipCar which had to be returned on time, so I wasn't about to wait on the block for an indefinite amount of time, so I left. At 3:15 I got a call from them saying that they had lunch until 3 and if I wanted to I could go back and make my appointment. I couldn't do that because of the time I had booked the ZipCar for. I wasted my money on that car driving to an appointment Bare on the Square didn't bother to keep by returning 15 minutes late from lunch, even though they had scheduled me in at 3. I wasn't warned that they might be tardy because of lunch (I wouldn't' think people still ate lunch at 3), there was no sign on the door, and I didn't even get an apology, only an invitation to make a new appointment. All in all it was very rude. Unfortunately, I still have 2 waxes to redeem from them, so I will be back. I would recommend, however, that you take your business elsewhere. read more

I also purchased the Groupon for a facial but wasn't impressed. I would be upset had I spent full price. I could rub a bunch of lotion on my face and lay on my back for 30 min. But, when I was emailed about the unlimited wax for 2 months deal I thought I would give them a second chance and maybe not have the same girl. I agree with everyone here ..they are waxing gods.. I just did my lips and brows - but she was quick and they looked awesome.. I actually had a really nice shape not like when you go to a nail salon and you walk out with half a brow. I would recommend a buzzer or bell on the door. I walked in and waited about 3-4 minutes before being greeted. I even walked around a bit and said "hello" a minute or two later she walked out. Went in to get my eyebrows microbladed by Melissa. Best experience I ever had. She was patient, professional, friendly, & extremely knowledgeable, not to mention her salon was very clean & welcoming. She is a perfectionist & truly took her time getting my eyebrows just right (once I approved) before she began the process. All total, I may have been there 2-3 hours but I didn't care, as long as I was pleased with the final outcome. Afterwards, she gave explicit instructions for the after care (balm). I absolutely LOVE Bare on the Square. I moved here 4 months ago, and normally have an issue trusting anyone to do my eyebrows. A friend suggested Bare on the Square to me. I've had both Melissa and Stephanie, and they are both wonderful! They are quick and efficient. On top of that, they are extremely personable, which makes the whole experience that much more comfortable. The way they do their "bare down there" (Brazilian) waxes are definitely the most painless Brazilians I have even gotten. Although I have nothing bad to say about their services, I did dock a star just for the atmosphere. If you are looking for a "peaceful, spa like" atmosphere, I don't think you're going to get it here. I've gone here several times for waxing and I really like it. I would definitely recommend going to Melissa. She does a quick and wonderful job. I took my sister to her for her first wax, as well and she was quite happy with how she was talked through the experience. Melissa makes it very comfortable with the least amount of awkwardness possible in that kind of setting. I really enjoy their deals as well for the waxing since I'm still in school and try to save money. And no double-dipping, which is the main thing I'm after with a brazilian along with the hair removal. The atmosphere isn't the most tranquil, as most people have commented on, but I like that they play top 40 music because it helps keep my mind off of what's actually happening. I also don't mind the decor, especially since I'm mostly in and out in a matter of 15 minutes. I'd totally recommend going regardless of whether it's your hundredth or first time getting waxed. I have to say that as a guy, getting waxed is one of the more stressful experiences in my life. Our specialist, Stephanie, was amazing in easing my worries as soon as I got there. She was very knowledgeable and knew everything there was about waxing. The place is simple, bare bones but functional, music in the background and a simple layout with a very nice color scheme. The waxing itself was still painful, but unless you get localized anesthesia nothing can avoid that. The pain was quick, but tolerable, and the process was over even faster. I had an appointment scheduled yesterday morning to have brow microblading done by Melissa. I drove 40 min to get there (and arrived 5 minutes early) but was stood up for my appointment. The door was locked and lights out! Tried calling the number provided, but the call went straight to voicemail. I left a message stating that I'd be willing to wait a few minutes if she was simply running late, but never received a call back. I tried calling again today, just to make sure my credit card wasn't charged, but no one answered and the voice mailbox was full. BTW folks, this is BY NO MEANS the upscale salon I was expecting to see based on their website. It's a tiny room on the second floor of a multi- office building with a cold, uninviting feel. Maybe the service would have been great, but I'll never know. NOT going back! The most aggravating part of this was that I planned 6 days off work to heal after the procedure so I wouldn't go back with visible scabbing. I went off Ibuprofen for 2 days prior as suggested. I even scheduled an appointment to get a professional shampoo on day 3, as it's recommended that you not get your brows wet for about a week after. For starters, I would like to say that Stephanie, the lady who waxed me, was very kind and seemed to do a good job. However, I was very unhappy and VERY uncomfortable with the situation. I originally went to the suite number listed (202) and opened the door to find it completely dark and mail piling up. So I called the number listed on the website and the lady told me to go upstairs to 302... there was absolutely no signage for the salon or to let customers know that the location has changed. I got to suite 302 and it was, seriously, a bare room with a waxing table and wax. It was bright and had absolutely nothing in it to reassure me that I was legit in clean/safe place. I went through with the wax because I felt uncomfortable (again, Stephanie (I believe) was very kind and did a good job)) but ended up paying more there than I did at one of the high end salons I know. Absolutely not. I very highly recommend AGAINST this place. I have had several waxing services and have never had such poor customer service.... PROVIDED BY THE OWNER!!!! Avoid this place. They do not stand by there service. She, wouldn't give me her name, ref used to refund the difference in cost for services. Let me explain. I made an appointment, showed up about 10 mins. early. The location was closed, I called the number after waiting until after my appointment time to find out if I was in the correct location since no one was there. The young lady was running late. No problem, I ate breakfast down the street and came back. The service was provided. FYI- they do not use hard or cold wax, they use strips. Which is fine for some parts of the body but not for all. Nonetheless, the service was completed. Afterwards, the woman who wrong me up stated that if I paid for 3 of this service the price was better. I figured I would come back again, maybe try the other location. However, my body did NOT like the strips. Not only did the hair grow back in less than a week. Now this is my first service since child birth, no clipping, shaving etc. Additionally, I have experienced a lot of in growns. Like... a lot. Obviously, my body does well with other wax types just not strips. I bought the 3 service option at the end of my service. I have not used the other two and have not intention of using them. I called last week and spoke to someone. I explained what happened and she said that the refund for difference in service would NOT be a problem. She said she would leave a message for a manager to return my call. Ok, no calls came. So I called yesterday. It was Monday, the voice mail was full and no one answered, but it was right after a holiday so no worries. I called today and the 'Owner' answered. She was rude, disrespectful and ignorant. She accused me of "having buyers remorse" and "just wanting a service with out paying". I didn't ask for a full refund, I asked to be refunded the money where no service was provided. They can charge the full price for the service I received, but I have not intentions of going back. She hung up on me and would not answer when I called back. She stated "services are not refundable" but now service was provided for the remainder of the money. BTW, she kep asking me why I didn't ask them if the cost was refundable when I purchased it.... Really? That is the companies responsibility not the consumers. Please avoid this place. I am now disputing the payment by other means. I used to go to their Canton location before I relocated because it was cheap and convenient to home. I have been to three other places since and WOW! Now I know exactly how horrible this place is! First- if you're doing well enough to have two locations, you should have a full time receptionist, so when I call and leave a voicemail, someone actually returns my call (not like that day, I mean ever!!) Second- No frills, no warmth, nothing! They use powder after your wax... that's it! No creams or cooling gels. The powder not only gets on your clothes, but also doesn't even smell good and you'll need to wash it off to feel clean! As for the warmth... This place feels more like I'm about to have a surgery than a "spa experience." Minimal decor, halogen lighting and the radio playing in the background. Sorry, but I don't consider Kesha's latest hit soothing while hair gets yanked out of my body! I went to each of the owners, neither of whom I liked, and finally Molly, who was the best of the three, though I had to start the conversation every time. (Any GOOD esthetician will keep you engaged and chatting to distract you from what's going on down there!) Lastly- My biggest gripe with this place was that they only carry soft wax. This was the first and only place I have been to that does not have the option of hard wax. Maybe it depends on your hair type, but ladies let me tell you... Quick, dirty, and cheap! The ladies here are very friendly and know what they're doing when it comes to waxing. I've come here on several occasions. My first visit was with Stephanie, who spent a little more time explaining everything to me and gave me hints to make the process (less) painful. The other times I've been, the friendliness was still there, but they were much quicker. This lets me to get in and out during my lunch hour with time to spare to actually eat lunch =) I would not pay full price for this experience as $65 for 5-10 minutes as they do not offer other amenities that you would get from a full service spa offering Brazilians at the same price, but they run specials all the time, making its great deal (~$30 per wax). read more

First, the place is not clean, the walls, trash basket, and baseboards have wax residue randomly splatterthorn there surfaces. The wax specialist who delivered my services,Molly, made the experience even more unpleasant. She waxed much more than I asked for, and repeatedly used my feet as a table to lay her used and unused wax strips.
