We stayed at Hotel Max during our visit to the beautiful Seattle and had a very good time. We were lucky to not have anyone next door so it was very quiet although we were disturbed our first night by the constructions from the building down the block. Nevertheless, the hotel did provide us with ear plugs and luckily I only needed to use it our first night there. From our experience, there were more pros than cons but in the end, Hotel Max still deserves 5 stars for their top-notch service and location.
Pros:
Very close to literally everything you would want to do in Seattle. The Space Needle, Chihuly Garden, Museum, library, pier, aquarium, Taylor Shellfish Farm, Elliot's Oyster House and Pike Place were all walking distance from the hotel.
The staff were amazing and so welcoming. From the time we arrived, to our visit at the bar, to their free beer daily event and our check out. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Their decor!! So chic and modern. We really enjoyed their comfy couches with all of the board games they had available for us to play with while we relax with our drinks.
Free beer sample from local breweries daily from 5-6. We made it to one and has coffee flavored beer and it was very.. interesting. Lol.
$5 credit a day to spend on things in the room if you skip on housekeeping services. They had a lot of drinks like alcohol, coconut water, soda, chips, candies.. etc. We did that and used our credit on water and coconut juice. It's also a good way to be green and save the environment! :)
They allow pets!! We didn't bring our little guy but it would be awesome since I've seen pictures of what their sleeping quarter looks like.
Con:
Just ONE but might be the one that matters for some people. Their rooms are tiny! SF is known for their tiny hotel rooms but our room at Hotel Max was even smaller than the one we had in Union Square. My boyfriend and I didn't have enough space to open our suitcases all the way and we had medium sized suitcases. I didn't mind since we weren't in our hotel much but their restroom is also very very tight. The shower was so small that it was difficult for me to maneuver around and there's no where to get ready so I just got ready on the bed since there's a mirror on the wall above the bed.
Regardless of the major con, I still think this hotel deserves a 4.5-5 star rating because of their service and amenities. I can't blame them for the structural aspect of the hotel since everything is stated on their website. So in conclusion, if you don't mind the tight space, Hotel Max is a great place to stay during your visit to Seattle.
Oh and one last tip. Parking is horrible in Seattle in terms of their prices but if you park literally across the street from the hotel it's $37/day instead of $40 for valet from the hotel and you have to wait for them to get your car. Or if you can make it before 10 for the early-bird special, the parking structure (same one as the apartment building) on the left side of the hotel (if you turn left when exiting the hotel) is cheaper. read more
