Ribeye is the go too.
Benny F.

Service was excellent and Ribeye was delicious as I remembered it. Would have given 5 stars if not for my wife's prime rib meal coming out cold. It was the strangest thing, everything on the plate was cold, waitress took it back and microwaved it and it turned out delicious.

I suspect it was the loud gentleman seated at the table behind us, but I digress. Once the server came over, we were off to the races. We started with the carpaccio, roasted garlic, and portobello appetizers. Delicious! I would highly recommend each one. The board that is served complimentary was delicious as well. I enjoyed a glass of the Inkblot Cab Franc with my NY Sirloin fully dressed. I love a good steak, and this one was right up there! We didn't have room for dessert but ordered the signature dessert to go. Sadly, I never tried the dessert before I left for my flight the next morning, but I'm sure my brother and his wife enjoyed it. It just gives me a good excuse to go back.

It's so cozy and happy, like having dinner in a Christmas wonderland. Tonight it was packed; my husband and I didn't make reservations and still they squeezed us in. I got to enjoy what I long for all year. The food was, as always a 10 out of 10. Shout out to the amazing chef who made the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. Another shout out to Alexis, who brought us a mini loaf of the most delicious brioche bread that comes with the dinner; because what we ordered didn't include the bread we asked if we could have it and she made it happen. The place is not the cheapest, but very reasonable given the high quality of food and service, the wait is a bit on the long-ish side (the food makes up for it) and I still can't think of a better place to have an excellent dinner with an even more excellent ambiance. 100 out of 100.

The staff at Trinidad Bay Eatery were all exceptionally kind and appeared to genuinely engage with their guests. The atmosphere is exactly what one would hope for in a coastal eatery. We ordered clam chowder, fish and chips, and a chicken ciabatta sandwich. The chowder was excellent and among the top chowders I've ever enjoyed. The fish and chips were plentiful and the quality and thickness of the fish were unmatched. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and fries with a California branded malt vinegar. Okay, fine -- maybe dogs aren't allowed in certain areas, not a big deal. So we figured we'd just order the food to go instead. Nope. Two days in a row we were told they couldn't do takeout. At that point, it just felt like there was zero flexibility or willingness to work with customers. That's really disappointing, especially for a place with such a good reputation. Unfortunately, the lack of flexibility is what lost us.

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.

When the owner grabbed us and took us to our seat, I noticed on the menu how much food you get when you order an entree. Soup or salad, I got the clam chowder of course, they were out of prime rib so I got the rib eye instead. I was really sad about that choice since I haven't had prime rib in a while. The meal also came with either scampi, beer battered shrimp or calamari. It was so much food which is nice, but the steak was so chewy. I usually love it when I have to fight a bit for my meat like on a rib or something but not my steak. But it was a great restaurant and the seating on both sides of the restaurant were packed.
