We attended a wedding here recently and were surprised and disappointed in some of the fails by the hotel's team; especially a hotel of this calibre. I believe they could have done a better job in execution. From the beginning, there was a long line at the primary bar; and guests were not made aware, or directed towards a second bar located at the end of the mile-long hallway. Some of the hot hors d'oeuvres like the crab-cakes were served ice cold and were dry, others were were at room temperature and difficult to handle on those asian soup-spoons - like the shrimp with tails intact on a spoon. Try eating one with a drink in your one hand... Then, there was nowhere to set the spoons down once you were done. The reception started almost 30 minutes later than expected and the team did not usher guests into the ballroom until the last moment. The ballroom is rather small and tight, the bathrooms are a LONG walk. And the room lighting was poorly managed. Some of the sconces were crooked, some were lit, and others were not, several had expired bulbs and were OUT on top or bottom of the tubes. The lighting just looked and felt sloppy and neglected. The salad and main course were adequate, and overall, it was a fair experience. I could not recommend this hotel for social events, it seems better suited for corporate meetings. read more

The Hotel Commonwealth has everything you are going to need for your visit to Boston. Extremely professional staff and a VERY CLEAN HOTEL. This is a high end hotel with REASONABLE PRICES. It is a much better value and location compared to Faneuil Hall, Downtown or Financial District hotels. Also better than the "name brands" of Marriott, Westin, Hyatt, etc. Those brands may be great in other cities, but strongly suggest you stay here instead. Located next to a T stop, numerous restaurants (Eastern Standard, Cornwalls), Fenway Park, Newbury Street, numerous Universities. If visiting for the Red Sox, there is no better hotel in town. read more

Hotel commonwealth was ok. I stayed here pre- covid and it was absolutely amazing. Needles to say covid did change everything. My room smelled so incredibly stale that I went out and bought a can of Febreze. And the incredible thing is you smelled it as soon as you walked in the room. I know the maid staff smelled it. I had to call downstairs because the tub was covered in hair (oh and it wasn't mine). So they sent a guy up to vacuum the shower. $4000 for 5 days. And the shower needs to b cleaned of a stale room. I didn't even complain about the the stalenish. I figured why bother. The staff knew when they put you there. ( no one says " hey boss this room really needs to b aired out b4 we put guests in it?". And the hair in the shower long strains . A little disgusting . So lesson learned. I cannot stay at the hotel commonwealth again. It's just that simple. ( just be aware that it has gone down hill ) and is really no longer a 4 or 5 star hotel. On a positive note, the staff incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the city and the best places to eat. Other than that try another hotel close to fenway. I'm booking either the Lenox or the Elliot next month when my husband and I go back. read more

I stayed at Hotel Commonwealth for 3 nights this week and overall it was a pleasant experience. As others have mentioned, the customer service and staff are very accommodating. My room was very nice and spacious, and the location (Kenmore, directly next to the T stop) could not be beat. The only 2 downsides were: 1) noise level - My room overlooked the Mass Pike and so I heard traffic all night long. and 2) cleanliness of room - the dresser drawers were dirty and a black latex glove was left in the room the first day it was cleaned. I didn't touch the used glove and instead left it there for the cleaning room to pick up, but when I returned that evening, it was still there! For a nice hotel, I found this a little disappointing. Overall, I would stay at Hotel Commonwealth again, but next time I'd request a room away from the Pike, and hope the cleaning crew was a little more careful. read more

We thought we would splurge a bit after getting engaged that weekend, and found a pretty good deal for a suite. For a 4 star hotel, this did NOT deliver. When you walked in it seemed ok, but...no coffee, no bathrobes, subpar cleanliness, subpar service. You have to call the front desk to get a keurig delivered to your room, which took forever. At first a staff member just showed up with nothing and we had to tell him we had requested the coffee maker. Went to the hotel bar in the basement and there was a mouse running around. That didn't even phase me...New England basements in winter have mice. What DID phase me was the next morning going to make coffee (in the keurig that was such a pain in the first place to get), opened the keurig and a COCKROACH came out of the pod compartment. We had ordered room service for breakfast, but was just ruined knowing there were roaches running around in the kitchen and the room. I grew up in New England, have worked in restaurants and have never seen a cockroach here. I discretely let the concierge know when we were checking out, as I didn't want to alarm the other guests checking in and she just said, "oh, uh...we can get you a starbucks." Just no. This was beyond unacceptable, on our engagement no less! I had emailed the company after the stay and got no response. This was a couple years ago and still stands out as one of our worst stays. read more

Saying Hotel Commonwealth is a 4-1/2 star hotel is misleading to say the least. Pros: right on the T, great downstairs cocktail lounge, and a few great staff members Cons: disappointing and underwhelming room, uncomfortable bed, iffy bathroom cleanliness, 2/3 staff members were lacking in hospitality, TERRIBLE view from "interior" room in which you are literally looking over a dirty roof and HVAC system, directly across from the windows of adjacent hotel rooms, toilet barely flushes I asked if they had any alternative rooms, as staring out to a view of the roof and peering into the rooms of others was less than appealing. Zero attempt was made to make my stay comfortable with the supervisor seemingly assuming they had nothing else available and stating that they were booked without actually checking. Granted, availability changes, but rooms were available on the website earlier in the day, so, I had my doubts that, that was truly the case The Sheraton right down the street is a mere 3-stars, yet offers a significantly nicer experience for a fraction of a cost, not to mention it is literally connected to Prudential Center. Hotel Commonwealth looked super promising and like a quaint, comfortable, upscale hotel. Zero of those expectations were met. Super disappointed. Would not recommend. read more

Very lovely hotel. Room was clean, good sized. Bed was comfortable. Staff was great and always accommodating. Loved that we had good restaurants right in the hotel - plus super quick walk to Fenway, coffee shops, etc. One small gripe is that on Saturday night we fell asleep to the dull sounds of club music, presumably from the House of Blues? But it wasn't disturbing enough to prevent us from sleeping. read more

Hotel Commonwealth - View from room - Hotels Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

My wife and I stayed here Oct 4-5. We arrived fairly late, around 10:00, and were greeted at the desk by Nick. While our room was excellent and very clean, Nick was the highlight of our stay. We were greeted with kindness and enthusiasm, offered snacks and a Keurig coffee machine! We were given his card, to call directly, should we need anything. In short, the best customer service we could ask for! We have stayed there in the past, but because of Nick, we will always make an effort to stay there in the future when in Boston. Highly recommended. read more

Maybe I just set my expectations to high for Hotel Commonwealth. But either way this hotel missed the mark for me. Now hotels in Boston are known for having a high ticket price, but the night I did an express deal on Priceline and ended up getting Hotel Commonwealth, the hotel was valued at $1000. So natural I felt the $300 a night price I received was a steal, and I hit the jackpot! However, I've stayed in 3 1/2 star hotels that had more umph! I will say if your a Boston Red Sox fan this is the place for you. But that shouldn't be a surprise because it's the official Hotel of the Boston Red Sox's and you be honest the memorabilia aspect isn't up to par with other establishments that have similar concepts. Another thing to talk about is location, so this place is great for Fenway Park, and there's a Starbucks and McDonalds right next to the Hotel which is great for Caffeine addicts like myself. However, it's still about a 25 minute walk from Newberry St. and the two malls(which are fantastic btw). Also a train station right down the street for people who are familiar with how the subway system works around Boston. Service was not an issue here! Probably would say that's one of the few highlights thus far. Also they go through extensive checks and balances to make sure the customers are safe, which I appreciated since my 9 month old came along for the ride. The rooms I would say are the biggest turn off for me as a customer. 4-4 1/2 star hotel. You don't expect to be at the Ritz Carlton, but you definitely don't expect a Holiday Inn. And the room itself was just about the same as the experiences I've had at Holiday Inn Hotels. Bathrooms are pretty small and not much to talk about, the beds are awfully(I know that's subjective.) And that was after we upgraded our rooms and spent the extra $30/Night which is not a big deal. But everything just seemed outdated, and there has been nothing to say that this is something to experience when coming to Boston. Sorry if this review comes off harsh, not hopefully this will help someone out down the road! read more

Down to the ticking of baseball stitching on the drapes over the window facing Fenway Park, the staff were incredibly professional and the details were spot on. Everything you wish for in a hotel-this is it. I was impressed and wondered if maybe it was a Boston thing. I didn't get very far and ended up spending most of my time in the hotel due to getting terrible news and even the cleaning lady was able to step away and help fix one bed as needed on the fly. The room service was delicious and staff was courteous. Def. would come back and do it all again but next time to head out and see the city! read more

Hotel Commonwealth - Very nice little welcome basket! - Hotels Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

We stayed here for four nights and were pleased overall. We booked through Hotwire and were lucky to get a room that looked directly at Fenway. We're not sports fans, but the view was still awesome. The bathroom was luxurious, especially the shower, which can easily fit 2 people (if you're into that...) Shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are provided. The staff was quickly receptive when we needed extra shampoo and a new remote (ours didn't work) and brought up the items right away. Another plus - you can't hear people in the room(s) next to you. This is HUGE, considering most hotels have walls that are paper thin. However, since our room faced the highway, we could often hear cars, but it didn't phase us much since we're city dwellers. The Oyster Bar that is attached to the hotel is phenomenal...do yourself a favor and go there! Something to note: We did not receive maid service for the first 3 days we were there and were told we wouldn't be charged. However, we were charged the $25 fee each day. At the time we received the bill, I didn't notice because it was 4am and we were leaving to catch a flight. I wish I had said something...look at your charges carefully! Great location (literally right next to the Green line). Overall, we had a pretty good experience here. read more

I've had the pleasure of staying at this hotel a handful of times. Originally 6+ years ago, I lived in Boston and would have a staycation with my boyfriend at the time. It was a small luxury we did and looked forward to and have referenced often. I now live in Los Angeles and traveled back to Boston due to the lost of the man I mentioned above. Due to Covid, I thought it would be difficult to have the same experience but that's not what happened. Chris at reception went above and beyond for my stay here, his coworker Nick has also gone out of his way to make me feel welcome and at home. I can't thank them enough, true hospitality at its finest. The rooms are clean and hotel is still just as beautiful. I will be back (hopefully for a happier trip) and can't wait to enjoy another stay at this wonderful hotel. read more

Booked this hotel through a 3rd party travel company. Upon arrival I was told that my husband and would be in a 2 Queen room. I was confused as I thought I had booked King room. The hotel said they could not guarantee a King room if the booking wasn't done directly through the hotel. However, I asked if there was any way we could get a King room and the front desk person actually was really nice about it and tried to find a way to fix it. In the end he ended up getting us a king room with no additional cost which was very nice. The hotel itself is in a pretty good location. Close enough to walk to Back Bay and other areas, right on a metro line and with plenty of ride share cars nearby. There are two restaurants connected to the hotel and I tried them both. Eastern Standard was pretty good. The Island Creek Oyster Bar however, was excellent and rated one of the best lobster rolls in the city. The room was good. Clean and a good size as well. There were minimal toiletries though and we were given just shampoo and had to go ask for the conditioner but that obviously isn't a deal breaker. Overall if you can find a good deal at this hotel and confirm your bed it is a good stay. read more

Second time. It's Covid Sad. Remaining staff is great. No amenities remain. No restaurants, no bar, no valet - resort fee still intact.

From start to finish the staff is very accommodating and wanting to make sure our every need was met. Helpful with places to go, room service, convenient parking garage. The room was meticulous, larger than most rooms. I loved the bathroom and the views from our window. We will definitely be back. read more

Customer support was extremely difficult to deal with. I needed to cancel my stay for a covid-related reason. They would not refund my card or offer me a credit. Instead, the manager said that offering an "unspecified" discount for a future trip was the best they could do. They couldn't even say what discount they would offer. Not what you'd expect from a hotel at this price point. read more

Loved my stays at Hotel Commonwealth- I actually had two separate stays during the same week. Great location, with the hotel entrance right next to the Kenmore T entrance, you can get anywhere via T easily. With the proximity to Boston University and the Esplanade (I accessed via ramp near Silber Way/Blandford St), I took an impromptu walk through of my former college campus to relive old memories and see all the changes that have been done. Front desk- easy and fast check-in, with friendly employees offering local suggestions (even though I didn't need, I played along to see what they would recommend). I had a standard size room, which was very spacious, with a nice view of the building next door and Comm Ave. The king size bed was so comfortable...I could have stayed there the entire time if there wasn't so much to see and do in Boston. read more

We purchased a Groupon deal for a night in a Fenway room (double queen) and were sad it was only a single night! The hotel concierge was very warm and friendly and did a fantastic job in being accommodating and treating us well. When we got to our room, the first reaction was of shock at how spacious it was. Given that it's a small hotel tucked away in Kenmore, we were pleased with the size of the room and view (especially as we were offered to upgrade to a bigger room when we checked-in but declined). The furnishings and decor are charming - I loved the armoire with the TV inside (a little small for our taste but it's ok). The room was clean, sheets were fresh - everything was lovely! Bathroom was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed - I love magnified vanity mirrors and dream of installing my own one day. The main level is fun to explore with interesting art pieces and a hallway with entrances to various shops (including Eastern Standard and Zinga). Such a convenient location and a wonderful stay! read more

Day One - Sox game and valet was beeeeeat. 45 min wait because of the Fenway runover and construction on Comm Ave. I had a room - isn't the customer always right? Upgraded to a suite BONUS! Turndown service gave a B&B feel, boasting chocolate cookies and sweet tunes from the preset jazz channel. Do they scent the linens? There was something going on that made me want to sleep forever. Day Two - Awoken by the chambermaid in spite of the Peace and Quiet sign I had swinging. The for-real wake up call was not automated and the woman's voice was cheerful. She followed up fifteen minutes later (just like Mom used to!), which is good because I always go back to sleep. The mini bottles in the shower were L'Occitane. Doesn't resonate with me but I guess it's a respected name in the bath sundries world. My hair smelled like a tree. These little things made for nice touches. Eastern Standard (restaurant) and The Foundation (lounge) get different grades for the experience overall. The hotel is rightfully pricey with its key location and quaint luxuries. Unfortunately, nothing really stood out and it fades in to the pack of four star establishments. Word to your bretheren. D-Lish read more

I'm not sure where to begin... we pulled up early to the hotel as we still needed to drop off our car at the airport. Wanting to just check in our bags and take off, the doorman suggested we try to check in despite the fact it was several hours prior to check in time. The staff greeted us as though we were royalty. Friendly smiles and accommodating gestures put us into a room right away. Offering us many suggestions about town, we decided to run up to our room, get settled before we headed back out. As we walked into our room, the first thing that struck me was the view of Fenway Park. Holy cow, did this receptionist do this on purpose because I couldn't hide my enthusiasm about Red Sox playing game 2 tonight against Detroit. The room was beautiful. The beds, indescribable. The pillows were perfect, like resting my head of fluffly ducks. I thought I was in heaven. The shower pressure... I felt as though I died and went to heaven. We walked back downstairs and the kind Concierge, Nick, asked if we needed anything before we headed out. We asked for a couple of suggestions of nearby colleges to tour and then I decided what the heack ... "Do you have any tickets for tonight's game"? He quickly looked in his handy computer and low and behold... We are going to the SOX game for ACLS championship ... game 2. He got us tickets for 90.00 each and I thought I needed to be pinched... I cannot describe my excitement. And so we walked from our hotel to the Game and the rest was history. Papi hitting a Grand Slam when the score was 5-1..... history in the making. Sox win it and we leave happier than ever expected. What a game. This hotel is awesome. Location - superb Staff - professional and friendly Cleanliness - spotless... no bed bugs in these beds. It's worth every penny. read more

I recently stayed here and this place is 5 stars all the way. Clean and beautiful with excellent friendly service. Just as,nice,if,not better then their photos online which we all know,os,not usually the case with hotels. I used the valet. $50 charged to my room for 24 hours and unlimited in and outs. There was plenty of on streer parking but due to street cleaning that night it wasn't an option for me. The location is perfect. You could see the iconic citgo sign from our room. Walk out of the hotel and the Kenmore green line t stop is litterly steps away. They even gave us an upgrade to a suite because my companion is a veteran. I love this place and can't wait to go back. read more

Truly the best hotel in Boston! The minute you walk in to the hotel you will know why... Actually I should start with the valet and bellman. I probably have been here four times and Tim always remembers me. He always has a smile, quick to grab you a cab, or simply point you in the right direction. Check in is friendly and efficient. The lobby is gorgeous and classy. The rooms are large, clean, and extremely comfortable. At a decent price too. (Gotta remember Boston is not cheap). The Commonwealth is centrally located... I love the view of Fenway Park. It is also attached to 2 restaurants - Eastern Standard and Island Creek Oyster Bar you have got to go to both! Really all of my stays here have been wonderful! Parked here for a charity event in Fenway and used the valet service. I tipped really well and when I came back to get my car, I noticed that my car was parked on the side of the street with the doors unlocked. Hotel Commonwealth in Boston...June 2016...4 stars...Nice hotel in the Kenmore Square district of Boston. In fact the Kenmore Square station on the Green Line is about 50 feet from the front door, so public transportation is easy. The hotel is a block and a half from Fenway Park and I think this area of Boston is exactly what the Ricketts are trying to accomplish with the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field. This area of Boston is bustling with activities before and after the games and there are a number of hotels in the area for fans...the Hotel Commonwealth being the closest and the newest. Kenmore Station is sort of Wrigleyville on steroids. The hotel itself had very nice amenities and bathroom supplies, although they missed the fact that we had four in our room with only three towels. But we soon got that straight and the hotel served very nicely. Staff and service were excellent, front door people being especially so. This hotel is in a newish five-story building...the entire first floor is rented out to commercial shops and restaurants. There are three places to eat on the first floor, and all are affiliated with the hotel...as such, you can eat in these restaurants and charge the bill to your room. These restaurants also have an interior entrance from the hotel, as well as a main entrance streetside. The hotel is located just outside the busy downtown area of Boston, and it has a small fitness area for customers. Because of the hotel's location you are just steps away from the baseball and nightlife of Boston, and right on the public transportation needed to get everywhere else. While the hotel is a bit on the expensive side, you'll be hard pressed to find a better location in Boston, especially if you are headed for a baseball game or nearby Boston University. There are many attractions you can walk to from this location. Good stuff. read more

Beautiful hotel, nice staff. Check in was easy but I noticed the couple in front of us were offered drinks and a keurig for their room and we weren't, but we got a room on sale so maybe that's why. Great location and nice rooms. Really convenient to Fenway, obviously, but also walkable to restaurants, a drugstore, bank, just all the basics you might need. Nice valets, and retrieving your car is streamlined. Pet friendly which is a plus, nearest park is across the street, and kinda sketch. Like most hotels you can definitely hear doors/ convos etc. We were given a double room, which was nice, as one set of linens literally had dirt on them, and some towels had smudges. Someone called us though and asked if there was something we needed fixed though. We declined as we only needed one bed anyway, and were only staying one night. Linen cleanliness in two spots is the only thing that bothered me. Bath products on our visit were labeled Brooklyn, but made in China, are there really no satisfactory soaps made here?, don't tell me it's a luxury bath product when you're clearly trimming production costs. It's a nice spot. I did notice several groups having celebrations who all raved on the elevator, maybe this is best as a special occasion place. read more

Went into our stay here blindfolded. My GF did all of the planning for our NYE Boston trip. This was entirely unusual for me as a type a vacation planner like myself. All I knew was that we were getting a decent hotel in Boston at a great rate for NYE ($200). It was a cool boutique hotel right off the T that reminded me of one of our stays in San Francisco. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful off the bat. We were able to get into our rooms before noon (NICE) and upgrade to a Junior Suite for an additional $20 (SCORE). The room was big, very big for a city like Boston. It almost reminded me of rooms at the Venetian in Vegas. Very nicely decorated, very large bathroom, multiple tvs, and a view of the famous Citgo sign. The front desk provided us with free bottled water whenever we needed it, complimentary turn down service, and they even took my GF's jacket to the laundry room to dry and brought it back to us in time to go out. It's not the most luxurious hotel in the world, but everything was very nice and classy without being pretentious or over the top. Loved the liquor/wine store and Dunkin Donuts adjacent too. We will be back! read more

Hotel Commonwealth, you were amazing. I picked up this room on Priceline at a discounted rate because Red Sox were away. It was a BEAUTIFUL hotel. You'll almost be forced to use the valet service ($46 with in and out priv.), parking is a drag on Com Ave., but, no worries, they're very nice. We had them running all over the place because we kept forgetting stuff in our car. I admit, we were the kind of guests that Valets hate. Usually we are much more organized than this, but this was our third hotel in five days due to a crazy busy trip agenda. We arrived just about an hour and a half early and the very friendly hotel staff checked us in, no problem. We went up to our room to ditch our luggage and found a beautiful double room with fuzzy bathrobes and boutique decor that we could enjoy while looking right at Fenway. There were some great touches in the room, actually, including two luggage holders and a tablet for viewing weather, news, and ordering room service. Somehow we had a toothbrush casualty, so we used the tablet to order another toothbrush and some toiletries. The tablet reported the ETA of the items to our door. Wonderful! We also ordered a coffee maker off the menu, and what was delivered? A Keurig on a tray with an assortment of kcups! The beds were also very comfortable with extra fluffy blankets and a variety of pillows - one for every type of guest. I think the nicest thing (besides the Valets) about this hotel was that they let us keep our 3 suitcases and 3 backpacks at the hotel after we checked out. We wanted to take a tour of Boston and they held onto our luggage so that we didn't have to drag it around our tour. About three hours later we retrieved our luggage and our vehicle despite the fact that we had checked out already and it was after check out time. I thought that was really nice. One thing to mention is that there would be absolutely no way we would stay here during an event because it's in such a nice area. It would be way too expensive or completely booked. It was really a great location with Fenway about a ten minute walk, a Dunkin, Starbucks, and several other restaurants all on the same block. Copley Square, Boylston Street; MIT; and the Pru are just about a 10-15 minute walk and if you want to go to Quincy Market, there is a train stop right next to the hotel as well. I highly recommend checking this place out scoping hotels.com and priceline for the Fenway Suite. read more

Huge fan. Preface: I booked through TripAdvisor after seeing great reviews which, as it turns out Jetsetter handles the reservation from there (which I wish I'd known prior because as a UPROMISE member, rewards are available through certain vendors and not others). So essentially, I may have lost a possible 2% cash bonus. That is a TripAdvisor flaw, and I'm not mad at Hotel Commonwealth for that. However, I did choose a Fenway view room. After a two hour commute from the cape, rush hour traffic, and an awkward valet drop off, I was grateful for the complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite. Though like a kid in a candy store I adored people-watching from the 5th floor and the insane proximity to the iconic CITGO sign, the view was Comm Ave, not Fenway. Still not mad. Jeff at the front desk was awesome. Name recognition for dayyyyysss. When I told him we were celebrating and didn't see an ice bucket, he had one sent up. He called back to confirm we'd received it. We hadn't. Finally it was delivered and our bellman came back with a champagne bucket to boot. I'd wanted sushi for dinner so Jeff suggested Fins across the street. But we ended up eating after the show at Eastern Standard. The scene was YOUNG. I'm 33 and felt like one of the oldest people in the joint. My salad was delicious; my friend's steak, so-so. By no means are we sommeliers but we sent back the pinot noir. A $9 bottle of Smoking Loon is better than what they were offering. The alternative, a Cab (which I can't even understand why she offered us this?) wasn't much better. Perhaps I should have stuck with whiskey?? Absolutely the single-most redeeming quality about Eastern Standard is the in-room dining BREAKFAST that we ordered the next morning. Best sausage I've ever tasted. Legit. Makes up for the late night wine snafu. I slept like a BABY. Like when you sleep so well you forget where you are. It was just SILENT. I forgot that I was above one of the busiest streets in the 10th-largest metropolitan area in America. Overall I was wishing I had more nights to spend. Valet pickup again, more awkward than the drop off but ours won major points back when he complimented my car. I'm sure that any delay was at least half our fault for changing our minds 3 times. Truly, we just didn't want to leave. read more

Can't say enough positive things about this place and ALL staff we interacted with here-- from the valet to housekeeping, right down to all three adjoining restaurant/lounges.... What a phenomenal weekend! Polished, professional, without the pretentious zeal I had feared. I had booked a standard king, Fenway room through Jetsetter for my boyfriend's birthday weekend, and when we arrived we found out we'd been mysteriously upgraded to a private suite, jacuzzi and all. As it turns out the "upgraded" room was not on the Fenway side of the hotel, but that quickly became the least of our worries when we saw where we'd be spending our weekend. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are planning to be in the area! read more

Hotel commonwealth is a wonderful boutique style hotel that is all class. It appears to be an older hotel but is equipped with the latest amenities. The rooms are nice and large. I've stayed here three times in the last year or so and have never been disappointed. The concierge are friendly. It is flanked by two excellent restaurants (Eastern Standard and the very famous island creek oyster bar). The island creek oyster bar is a must visit! It has a small but adequate gym on the third floor. The cleaning service is excellent and unusually polite. The bellmen, the front desk, everyone is super helpful. My only complaint was that there was no coffee/tea in the room, but Starbucks is close by. Pros: location, nice room decor Cons: paper thin walls, cost, inconsisent staff I wanted to love this place, but it just wasn't worth the cost for me. The walls between rooms must be really thin because we could hear everything in the room next to us. It wasn't a big deal earlier in the evening, but when we tried to go to sleep around 10:30 or 11:00 the neighbors were so loud! I called down to the front desk and the woman who answered kind of laughed and said she'd send security. They never did. Luxury indeed!! We were lucky enough to stay at the Hotel Commonwealth this past weekend and we were NOT disappointed. From the gorgeous and HUGE room to the amazing (although a BIT too strong shower) to the impeccable service, HC rocks!! And I agree with past reviews - the chocolate biscuits are wonderful! I love, LOVE the Fresh bath products and the fact that they have a complimentary DVD library (this seems to be the new trend). I can't rave enough about how magnificent the staff was and how much more special they made our stay. We definitely felt as if we were staying at home - not at a hotel. read more

Always a pleasure to stay here in this comfortable locale so close to Fenway! Our first choice for Red Sox stays. Big shout out to Nicholas, who always makes sure we have everything we need and greets us both by name, always with a smile. There's no better choice near Fenway, but the commonwealth, as the official sox hotel. read more

Good lord this place is amazing. The company I work for in Boston had a late holiday weekend for us and many of us stayed here. The staff are really friendly and helpful, more than I've come to expect at Holiday Inn or Hilton. Not saying their service is poor, but this was just at another level. The location is close to everything and one street over from the Fenway Hard Rock where we had our party. I'm not sure how much a room is and I don't wan to look. I'm only hoping that we have a lather rinse repeat for next year. The Eastern Standard and Island Creek Oyster bar are connected to this hotel. My only complaint is I had to settle for Uber burger because Wahlburger was too far (kidding) read more

The hotel is in a great location, the service is excellent and the room is cozy and clean. The gym is alright. Only bad thing i would say is the noise coming from the highway by the hotel. read more
