Nice long hallway

Great boutique hotel on Charles St. in the heart of Beacon Hill. So close to parks, shops, and restaurants. Customer service was awesome! Chris made sure that we were well taken care of from the time we checked in to the time we checked out of the hotel. He even went out of his way and created an itinerary tailored just for us for our outing on Saturday. He made our entire stay an amazing time! All his recommendations were spot on! The Terra restaurant at Eataly was a nice ending. We even received complimentary Burrata appetizer because of him! Such a nice touch! My plans will bring me back again so I'll be sure to reserve at The Whitney Hotel.

No contest. This was the best way for us to experience Boston....even if it was only for an overnight stay. I search (no random order) for hotels in the area based on my top priorities. Because at the end of the day, I need to make sure that where I lay my head and body, really jives with me in every sense of the word. I almost always like to look beyond the cookie-cutter hotels for the smaller independent ones because they offer an added layer of charm that those larger chain hotels miss out on. At $3- - and change for the night, our small room had an endless stylish flow from entrance to windows in the back. AND it was comfortable. Yes, there's that peek-a-boo Charles River view that was mesmerizing to see when I woke up the following morning. No fridge in our room, but there are several other amenities like WiFi, Exercise Room access (you'd have to reserve due to COVID), complimentary water bottles from the front desk, shoe shine, and many others. My biggest complaint was that even from our 4th fl room, I could smell food cooking for dinner- as well as breakfast. Maybe installing a better ventilation system to completely wipe out food smells should be put into place. Other than that, The Whitney's style and quality (to me) knock me off my feet and service was polite.

5 star service. This hotel saved us after we had an awful experience at the Revere Hotel in Boston and changed hotels the same night. From the minute we walked in the concierge staff was spectacular, and the decor of the hotel was modern, clean, and artsy. They pay attention to all the special touches - bath robes, slippers, and complimentary drinks and snacks on every floor. Our room was gorgeous - clean, white, modern and they even had great toiletries available for use. Love the nespresso coffee machine in room - you definitely pay for what you get for! If it had not been raining we would have used the free loaner bikes as well. Highly recommend would definitely return! Also location is amazing right in Beacon hill with easy access to the Charles River! Gym is small - has 3 machines and light weights and requires reservations but works well for a quick workout!

Bedroom Melville suite

I felt incredibly welcome from the moment I stepped in the Whitney. Samuel at the front desk and Noah at the restaurant, and all the other staff I interacted with went out of their way to make my stay relaxing, fun and rejuvenating. I stayed in the Melville suite which was amazing, quiet, and comfortable. The clawfoot tub was gorgeous and I really enjoyed the overall calming atmosphere of the decor. Everything was clean and bright. I worked out at the gym both days which they reserve for one person at a time due to Covid and loved that although it's small it had everything I needed. I really enjoyed checking out the Hydrow row machine which I hadn't seen before but had heard about and doing a yoga video the second day with all the yoga props I'd normally find at a studio. Overall a 10 out of 10 visit and I'll be back!

No parking. If you want the hotel to park they will charge 65 a night. The rooms are small. Don't go off the photos the website has. In the photo I am against the wall. No where on the website tells you on parking. So 500 a night with no parking. Sucks if you are visiting the city.

All are good but Canopy by Hilton in Boston is a step above. Service was GREAT, especially Yanelee who was working at the desk when we checked in. She is why I prefer to stay at Hilton hotels and will not stay anywhere else in Boston. She was friendly, helpful and went above-and-beyond to get us in our room!! The room itself was spacious, VERY clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location was great, very close to the historic district and a short Uber from the cruise terminal and the airport. Now the area is always busy and non stop traffic, but it was centrally located for the things I wanted to do. I only did ride share for things that were outside of the downtown Boston area or too far to walk with my mom. The hotel is clean, front desk associate Wensley, was always so kind and pleasant whenever I needed something or returned from sight seeing. I was in a premium double queen and OMG, spacious room, barn door bathroom, hardwood flooring, a seating area, view of the greenway, fridge in the room, and an overall very nice and comfortable room. It was enough space for us; we weren't stepping over each other and we used the extra seating area as a changing area when we needed to change for the evening dinners. My only complaint is with housekeeping, the room was rarely cleaned prior to 4pm and we would leave around 9am every day. We only received 2 face towels despite asking for 4. After going to the front desk and asking a note be entered we finally received enough face towels. We couldn't figure out when they would take our bath towels, we put them on the floor they would take them, put them on the rack they would take them. I have always put them on the floor and if on the rack it means I'm using them again. Either way, I did appreciate fresh towels on the days the room would be cleaned prior to our return. Overall the stay was comfortable, the bed and pillows were comfortable and I slept better there than at home. I'm starting to notice a pattern with sleeping away from home....maybe I should stay away from home more often! One thing to note, each floor has an ice and filtered water machine. That was a nice touch and it kept me from having to purchase bottled water and spending extra money for delivery of water.

Pure arrogance. Ironically, when I initially called the front desk to get in touch with Melissa, the person was kind, responsive and genuinely striving to be helpful. FYI: I had to make my reservation through the aforementioned senior management as I had donated to a youth-serving nonprofit and won a night's stay as a silent auction item for $350. I am being told they are voiding the certificate for a one night stay and, to add insult to injury, being falsely accused of "selling for a profit": I sent them a receipt for paying $100 more than I sold to someone because I could not use the voucher myself as planned. This is offensive. I understand that the Lenox is a long-standing institution in Boston. Unfortunately, they do not have a "people first," non-elitist approach in their communication and customer service norms. I may not be a high net worth, "VIP" client, but basic civility and customer care should be foundational. This was my first time attempting to do business with the Lenox. I also have to note here that their "corporate social responsibly" (CSR) practice of donating stays at the Lenox to nonprofits is totally against the spirit of CSR. As far as I can tell, the Saunders Hotel Group wants the tax write off without actually providing hospitality and services. It's a case of all image/show, no substance. I will never stay or otherwise give my business to the Lenox. I advise others to stay clear if you want a values-centered, people-first hotel.

The staff was amazing, attentive polite I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If I had to put a negative on this review, I would say the area where they serve the hors d'oeuvres was challenging. Black walls, black floor, black gowns and tuxedos. The doorman could not be nicer and the front desk staff is friendly as well. They have a special hotel guest lobby, which is excellent. I say that because if the restaurants are full, you can still order food and drinks there as a hotel guest. They always have chilled regular and sparkling canned water and little snacks throughout the day, coffee and tea bar in the morning. Always a very nice touch. Yes, it is pricey, but you're in Boston. If in Boston again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. We had a lovely room overlooking the park. Also, thank you to management with the welcoming fruit, wine and waters. We greatly appreciated it. We had a fireplace in our room, but the bellhop did not encourage us to use it. It might've been nice because it was very chilly when we were here just the other day. p.s. The environment was beautifully decorated for Christmas, like last year, and I had to take some pictures to have as desktop wallpaper on my computer. We had a very nice time and the selections on the menu were impressive. I went with the carrot cake chai black tea, mainly because it had pumpkin pie kinds of spices and vanilla rooibos. It tasted wonderful, like an autumnal tea, and all our teas came in beautifully decorated tea pots, apparently from Australia. The Four Seasons also does this interesting thing where they give you a liquor that fits with your tea order, to be added if you wish or drank by itself. I had a sip of mine and from someone else's, a bit strong for me but a bailey's one was alright. I'm fine with just tea myself! As for the food, this year's high tea was one of the best I've had. The menu was different from last year's, which was great too but in my opinion this seemed like an upgrade. Some of the food items included pieces of salmon in a little pastry, mini lobster roll, peking duck crepe, curried chicken croissant, a beautiful deviled egg, vanilla bean and brown butter scones, an eggnog tart, and a Santa hat shaped raspberry pastry. We even got some alternate options for a lactose sensitive person, so that's a great plus as well. The atmosphere was elegant and calming, and the service was great. The Four Seasons high tea was a very special holiday event, and comes highly recommended!
